Pork tenderloin

This is for the Ginseng Room, their elevated dining experience. First, I want to say THANK YOU to the management for keeping the music at a low enough volume that you didn't have to shout to be heard. This allowed diners to speak at normal levels and it never got loud, even as the place filled up. Our waiter, Arlen, was friendly and attentive and gave us good advice on what to order. I was pleased to see that the restaurant partners with so many local vendors. The wine list offered local wines (and more), and the prices were reasonable. The dining experience began with a complimentary amuse bouche of cornbread, prosciutto and pepper jelly. Very nice. I had the pork tenderloin (served on the rarer side of medium rare) and hubby had the elk. Both were spectacularly good as were the sides. Plating was beautiful. Then a complimentary palate cleanser of strawberry sorbet with fig oil. Really different and very good. The whole evening was lovely and exceeded our expectations and we'll be back! So glad to add the Ginseng Room to fine dining options in our area!

Fine Dining Menu is horrible. Do not spend your money eating here. Soup is not "soup" and "salad" is not a salad. Very limited menu.

My husband and I both had a wrap; I Buffalo grilled chicken and he blackened Caesar salad. Yum! My kids had wings and tenders and they approved. The beer selection was a great one too!

Anything that draws people into small towns to keep them energized is a good thing, I think. Things were a bit loud inside, and the weather was nice when we visited, so we took seats out between the sidewalk and street. The hostesses were a bit disorganized though, as they seemed to be working against one another; one cleared a table for us but then her colleague offered it to other patrons, and then the pair of staff members tried sending us to two different tables at the same time. We were able to order quickly, thankfully, but there was some delay in actually getting the food, and then we didn't see much of our waitress until it was time to pay. Was she just inattentive or was this a reflection of the staff being overworked? It's hard to say. The consensus about the food was that it was of reasonable value but only of moderate quality. The house salad was quite large but was made up largely of lettuce stalk material, and many of the other components were chopped to a miniscule level that made them relatively tasteless and undetectable. Reuben sandwiches contained a fair portion of meat and cheese but were a bit dry as only a tiny bit of dressing was present. It would seem that the draw here might be more about the adult beverages, or so it appeared amongst our neighboring tables, though none of our party chose to go that route. So on the basis of food quality alone, I'd say this is a welcome option versus fast food but certainly nothing to make a special trip for.
