We have been using Tim the arborist for several years. He is extremely knowledgeable about trees (which is rare these days) and we are thrilled with his services. Yesterday he removed a eucalyptus tree(roots and all) and then BEAUTIFULLY trimmed a large fern pine. He does NOT hack it down to the stump..like many tree trimmers will do. He trims trees properly, which is a lost art. Tim is prompt, professional and reliable. You will not be sorry you called him. Guaranteed. read more

I have Tim from Artistic Tree Service come to my home once a year to do annual trimming. Tim and his crew are experts, very caring and actually ARE artistic in their trimming of trees. After my trees are trimmed they look beautiful, not just hacked and chopped, but actually a big improvement. I would highly recommend them for their prompt service, their true caring of your trees, and the value you receive for the cost of their service. Do yourself a favor and call Tim, you will be glad you did. read more

Tim comes to our home a few times a year and works his magic with my silver sheens and palm trees. It all goes from a big shaggy hot mess, to cleaned up and beautiful by the time he's done. Tim is always on time, and leaves the yard cleaner than he found it. Tim does NOT just hack away at the trees. He is purposeful in how he trims or cuts, and it never looks like the trees have been carelessly cut. The next door neighbor had someone come and cut them on their side a few years back and that guy hacked so badly that I was devastated. I thought they'd never recover, but Tim came by to check them out, told me they would recover but it would take time. (And that I shouldn't have waited so long to call him! I learned... now Tim calls me like clockwork about every 6 months and I book him!) I highly recommend Tim and Artistic Tree service. Worth every penny! read more

I'm excited to have Tim and his exceptional crew handle all of my difficult landscape needs. 5 stars all the way! read more

I recently had my yard trimmed and the company did an adequate job but turned my 14 Texas privet trees into a shrub which was not the look I wanted. My neighbor highly recommended Tim because he trims trees by hand and leaves them looking like nature intended. He ended up refreshing my entire landscape and fertilizing as well. I would highly suggest using Tim because he has been in the business over 40 years and is an expert in tree care. I knew Tim back around 1988, when he and my father, Jim, were roommates in Huntington Beach, California. I was 19 at the time, and found Tim to be odd, but unmistakably genius in ways that "odd" people seem to exist; as I am also one of those odd people, only slightly different. At first we did not get along all that well. I was a slacker kid who had traveled all over the nation by thumb, picking up crazy stories I would later, unbeknownst to me, write about. We clashed over how life worked or should work at times, but I always found Tim a very interesting character. He worked VERY HARD at his craft. I watched this guy climb palm trees with so much ease it disturbed me... almost like he was a cat or something. Anyway, I get that this sounds more like a love letter than a review, but after watching that guy lay his guts out for HIS craft, while also TRYING (he did, but at the time, he could not know this) to mentor me. Some of that work ethic stuck, some of it didn't, but that wasn't or ISN'T on Tim. For we ALL have to travel our paths and make our own sometimes crappy decisions just to realize there IS a LARGER picture, or... a POINT (an INSIDE bequeathed enlightenment joke was just written). So if there is anyone out there who doubts this guy's work ethic or acumen (not that they would after reading most of these reviews), this post should put those worries to rest. As Tim is a GREAT GUY, and yes, a LITTLE ODD, but we NEED MORE ODD these days, don't we? Hey Tim... Jim would be proud of you, buddy... good job. That came from the guy who used to walk crooked, attempting to be John Wayne. God Speed, Brother. read more

We had Tim out to our house last weekend to remove a dead olive tree from our yard and plant a new tree. He and Ismael did a fantastic job and it wasn't easy. The olive tree was over 40 years old and had a very wide gnarled base but they got it out and had the new tree planted by 12:30pm. Tim went to Green Thumb to pick up the tree we had selected so it was ready to go in the same day the old tree came out. He also trimmed our pygmy date palms--they've never looked so good. Tim is a certified arborist and very knowledgeable--he gave us lots of good tips for the care of our trees and how to get rid of pests without pesticides. We will be calling him back when we need more tree trimming. read more

Artistic Tree Service (Tim) came higly recommended from a friend that had two Olive trees needing revival and reshaping. Tim is a Certified Horticulturist/Arborist and it was so refreshing to have an in depth conversation about not only the tree he came out to evaluate, but other trees on my property. After a Visual Tree Assesment, he developed a plan to revitalize a 25 year old, 30 foot tall China Doll tree. I paid Tim for the Consultation and then agreed to have him do the recommended work the next day. The consult fee was deducted from the fee for the job. Tim is highly educated and certified in his profession which was evident during our conversation and listening to his recommendations for the China Doll and some other trees too. The next day he arrived on time and did exactly what we agreed on in a highly professional way, using safety equipment and being mindful of cleaning up after the job. I love the way he explains what he's doing and why and makes recommendations for me to follow in the coming months. Tim is licensed and bonded and insists on proper safety equipment use. I highly recommend Artistic Tree Service for either routine or unique horticultural needs on your property. read more
