Of the 2 Tims "side by side" between the Victor Dahdaleh or Stephen Quinlan buildings, I prefer this one. Either way, the hours aren't great, but at least the Dahdaleh one opens at 8:00am instead of 9:00am in Quinlan. This one is also set up with proper crowd belts and signage. The Quinlan Tims doesn't take cash, either, but you can pay cash at Dahdaleh Tims.
Most of all, the staff at Dahdaleh Tims are better, as is the selection of goods. It didn't take long for the supervisor to recognize me each day and know my preferences, or even just say, Hello, if he was working with kitchen staff instead of at the cash. Yes, sometimes I'll have minor issues like an iced capp lid with a huge opening instead of the correct one for iced coffee with the small opening to drink it without a straw, but for the most part, no major errors with an order. This is after almost 5 months straight, 2-3 days a week. They know I like to use my survey receipts for the $1 drinks, so they'll give some to me if it doesn't get generated on my own receipt.
They don't have everything a full size Tims has, e.g., I don't think they have pizza. Their hours, as I mentioned, aren't extensive either, but then, it's a university campus, so I'm not surprised. They're still open on weekends, so it's basically open when I need it while I'm on campus. It can get crazy busy at lunch hour. They keep up with the lineup and taking orders, but you might be part of a crowd waiting for your order if it's more complicated like a sandwich with hot fillings to be assembled. Other times the lineup builds, but then, that's any location.
Between the staff and accepting cash, I never go to Quinlan Tim's now. As always, the great staff who are there consistently make all the difference. read more
