A tiny cute cafe, great for a small treat break. The macarons were too cute to pass up, I got the frog one which was matcha/white chocolate and it was so flavorful, one of the best macarons I've ever had. I got the Masala Chai tea which came as a tea bag, nothing special there. We had banh mis with us so we had to eat outside but there were no tables outside just a bench. Very cute mom and pop coffee shop! We got the vanilla matcha latte, vanilla london fog and a croissant. My matcha was great, I got it with oat milk. It wasn't as hot as I'd prefer but that's my fault for not asking for extra hot. London fog was delicious and the croissant was fresh. Absolutely adore coming to this place to study! Every single time I come here, I'm rewarded with great service and a amazing selection of drinks and pastries. My favourite drink is definitely the matcha latte, they make it very well! There's a decent amount of seating here with outlets throughout. I've stopped by Cocoon Coffee a few times now and I'm surprised to see I hadn't reviewed them yet - you'd think I'm trying to keep this gem to myself! I love this place! I tend to lean towards roasters but they serve some great drinks here and their gochujang cookies are unmatched. This cute little local cafe is less than 10 minute drive from Yorkdale Mall. Parking is very limited. We came for our first visit on a Saturday afternoon and parked next door. The cafe currently doesn't offer indoor dining. We ordered only drinks but I did see they sell macarons, brownies, scones and pound cake. The type of espresso drinks available are lattes, flat white, cortado, mocha, cappuccino and americano. Non caffeinated drinks like tumeric latte, elderberry hibiscus and hot chocolate were available too. My hubby and I both ordered the iced dalgona latte and that was very good. Dropped by Cocoon for a coffee and early day snack. I got the iced americano with oat milk for myself, the vanilla latte for my +1, and we shared the gochujang cookie. As a coffee lover, felt their coffee wasn't strong at all and super enjoyable. For the gochujang cookie, I was at first skeptical about how it would taste but it did not disappoint! I love it when I discover a new indie coffee shop! I was in the area for some business and needed caffeine. Although there are plenty of coffee chain options nearby, I was excited to see an indie coffee shop because I almost knew I could expect a great pulled latte. And... I was right! Adorable super clean coffee shop with great coffee and exceptional service. We asked to taste her drip coffee and she was insistent on making a fresh pot since it had been nearing an hour since it last brewed. But she was also concerned to be mindful of our time which only took 5 min and was quickly taken up with making our other drinks which was a hot chocolate and latte. The hot chocolate was for our kiddo so with the steamed milk she made a bear! The bathroom was super clean which is such a rare find these days! Very quaint coffee spot in the Yorkdale area. It is run by a couple who bake everything in house and hand make each cup of coffee. I even got whale art in my mocha :) Only problem is there is no designated parking. You may have to park in the lots that belong to the other business on the side. The mocha was good but not amazing. The Iced Match Latte was really good. It wasn't too sweet and was a great pairing for the Tiramisu, Macaroons, and the pound cake. The macaroons, especially the Oreo one was delicious and the pound cake was delicious and was perfect with my drink to balance out the sweetness. It's true, this is a 5-star cafe! The vibes are so good here. And I don't mean overly positive, just chill and relaxed and welcoming. It's a great place to stop by for a short coffee break, or to sit and stay and work. They have outlets and a long wood bar with stools where you can sit with your laptop. Their baked goods are seriously so good, and the owner knows about every single product they offer. She explained that one pastry was a bit less sweet than the others, and she explained how she makes the turmeric latte when I asked. Their coffee is great and the decor is so cute! Just stumbled upon this place trying to kill some time in the area. I'm sure glad I did. The space is lovely and so is the owner. She is passionate about her craft and it really shines through in the care she takes in making your drink. Not only is she passionate about coffee, but she loves to bake as well! I have a new favourite cafe! I've been dying to try this place out since it was built, as it's near my home, and I'm so glad that I finally did. It was worth the wait! The menu is a short one, as there is only a few options you can make (i.e. flavour shots, milk type) but you definitely have options here that other cafe's don't offer, like tumeric lattes and cortado (which I don't even know what it is). I got a vanilla latte and a special croissant to match. For round two, as I was there for a while, I got a matcha latte as well. The latte is amazing but the special croissant was THE BEST! Never had a croissant that tasted as good - it was sort of like a cinnamon, coffee cake but in a crispier croissant. I'm so sad there was just one - I'd eat 87 of these in a day if I could. The matcha latte was also really good but Emma had also told me it had no sweetener. That being said, one scoop of white sugar was enough for me! Cute latte art is a given. The cafe is cozy and really cute. There is minimal seating, so group study dates wouldn't work, as there is one table for six and a lot of bar window seats, but you shouldn't worry about finding a spot to do work as it isn't busy enough to worry about that. There is a large washroom for you to use if you stop by. Water is also dispensable for guests. What made the experience above and beyond any other cafe was Emma's service. When ordering my first latte, she had asked me if I wanted anything to eat and when I explained I'd get something later as I planned on staying for awhile, she told me that I could pay later, along with whatever food item I planned on getting. She was kind, friendly and welcoming. She apologized for any inconvenience, even if it wasn't an inconvenience (i.e. apple pay not being available). You can tell that regular customers that come in like Emma and her cafe a lot, and you get a very warm feeling of a community which I really, really love. Even customers that are not regulars are treated as if they are, and I feel like Emma truly cares about her customers. It is a genuine customer service, and she treats customers like guests in her home. She trusts you to pay for your things, but most importantly wants you to pay in the comfort of your own time - to not feel rushed to pay is another way she makes you feel like a real guest. I can't wait to go back! This cafe is truly worth the time and money. read more
