Inside the cafe--nice and open with lots of windows

I came here every day when in Vaughan and it's great! Their coffee is good, service is quick, and it's a nice place to sit and work or study. The staff was super nice and the pricing was fair. Plus, their metro vaughan location has really good wifi.

    Iced latte and almond croissant.

What a beautiful cafe located in the attractive new smartVMC area in Vaughan. Really a great addition. The inside is something you'd expect to find in downtown Toronto. They have a couple patio seats as well, 3 tables to be exact. There was quite a line ahead of me and after me on a Friday morning around 11am. I decided to get an iced latte with almond milk and a shot of sugar free vanilla, along with an almond croissant. It cost me a hefty $12 but YOLO, I guess. The latte was excellent. The one pump of vanilla was just the right amount of sweetness to complement the smooth espresso. It was perfect. I dinged a star because the almond croissant was just bleh. It kinda tasted like nothing tbh lol and it was overloaded with almonds, which I wasn't a fan of. It was a little too much. Oh I also want to mention that the washroom was super clean and smelled amazing lmao. Maybe cuz it was still morning and not many people had used it yet but ya, the amazing smell stood out lol. I love they didn't add a typical Tim Hortons or Starbucks to the area. Balzac's fits in much better with the vibe of the area.

    Baked goodies!!!

Cozy cafe with pretty decent outdoor and indoor seating options. The best part is that it is at the walking distance from the TTC station. During summers, we prefer to sip our coffee outside across the street due to the even better outdoor space. I usually am a fan of their Hot Chocolates but I recently tried White Chocolate Macadamia Latte and I really enjoyed it. The cafe offers a whole suite of baked goodies such as croissants, cookies, muffins etc which I haven't really tried to be honest. I think there's free wifi on the premises as well. I saw a few folks listening to music or working. All in all it's got everything that a coffee shop can offer.

The service is consistently warm, and the pastry case is hard to resist. We've tried many of their cakes, and the blackcurrant queen cake is hands down our favorite--tart, elegant, and just sweet enough. Their salted caramel croissant is beautifully laminated and filled with just the right amount of caramel. In fact, their croissants across the board are solid--flaky, tender, and buttery without being greasy. The sourdough bread is excellent, and the espresso drinks are reliably strong and well-crafted. It may look like Paris inside, but don't let that inspire your inner Francophile--the staff are lovely, but no one's following your French. Still, this is the kind of place that keeps regulars coming back. We're definitely among them.

The espresso here is excellent - well-bodied in flavour, medium roast (I think?), and pairs nicely with the sweetness of the cakes & pastries. There's also a wide selection of small personal cakes to choose from - just make sure you come early since they do sell out! We shared the cream & crumb cheesecake (simple, classic, and incredibly creamy!) and tiramichoux (think a tiramisu profiterole - such a fun twist!). Looking forward to my next visit already :)

As part of a growing chain with several locations across the city, this particular branch impressed us with both its quality desserts and genuinely friendly service. We came as a group of seven, and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us, rearranging tables so we could sit together comfortably. It's those little gestures that make a difference, especially when visiting with a larger group. Our top picks here were the Black Sesame Bingsu and the Tiramisu Bingsu. The Black Sesame Bingsu is a perfect option if you prefer desserts that are less sweet and more refined in flavour. The finely shaved ice is generously dusted with black sesame powder and topped with mochi, red bean, almond flakes, and a scoop of black sesame ice cream. The nutty, earthy notes make this one a standout. The Tiramisu Bingsu is just as delightful, with a mini slice of tiramisu perched on top and then chocolate powder, cheese, and a touch of espresso to bring out that classic tiramisu flavour. Rich and satisfying without being too heavy. The bingsu comes in three sizes: cup, small, and large. We went with the large size, which is perfect for sharing and they conveniently provide sharing bowls to make it easy. We also tried the Butter Bung Eo Ppang (a Korean fish-shaped pastry), opting for the salted butter & red bean filling. It was freshly made, warm, and a comforting and delicious side treat that we'd highly recommend trying if you want something a little different. Whether you're stopping by after dinner or looking for a place to chill with friends, this spot hits the mark.

After trying my vanilla iced latte and my partner's macchiato... I wondered if this place might actually be better known for food or matcha, based on what I've seen in other reviews - the coffee was not good. The espresso beans seemed to be over-roasted, which were quite bitter for our liking as opposed to something more subtly chocolatey and nutty. My iced latte also got watery pretty quickly as the ice melted it seemed, and ended up tasting more like the kind of latte you'd get from a fast-food chain (or the espresso shot was way too long). A bit of a letdown, especially since the two fairly small drinks came to about $18. The space itself is cozy, and I really like the vinyl collection (which earned the 2 stars). That said, the records are noticeably pricey compared to typical vinyl shops like Sonic Boom. A lot of them -- even ones with just Side A -- were priced at $55 and up. I didn't cross-check the barcodes on Discogs, but while I love the curation (especially the focus on Japanese jazz and city pop -- really cool stuff), I find it hard to believe all of them are rare pressings worthy of those $55-to-several-hundred-dollar price tags. As an avid collector myself, I wouldn't come here to buy the records. Service was friendly.

I had a matcha latte with almond milk this time and I was pleasantly surprised, a perfect level of sweetness, and not to mention the foam! I had no idea this was possible with almond milk! I'll definitely be back to try their coffee and a bite.

They had at least 16 different kinds of croissants and danishes. Not including cookies, whole pies and they also serve coffee and loaves of bread. Tiramisu danish was one of their popular items so I got that plus a plain croissant. Wow, the tiramisu was a 10/10! I mean, there was even a piece of ladyfinger soaked in coffee inside the danish! It was unbelievable. It was such a delightful dessert. As for the plain croissant, it was sadly average. It didn't have that crispy, flaky bite I enjoy. Note there is no seating area but there is a counter with a view of the parking lot.
