We stopped in here on the way to Lamport in Stadium to buy some drinks and use the bathroom. Considering this Second Cup is on King St. West it's not that busy. Looks bright and spacious with marble looking floors and wood accents. The barista bar and cashier bar on the backside of the coffee shop. And then the bathroom was tucked away at the back to the left of the barista bar. There is only one bathroom. Service was pretty quick and friendly. We have nothing to complain about. It's a pretty ordinary coffee shop. We would probably stop here again if we need to. read more

While the service was friendly and quick, I do not recommend the cold brew. It tasted more like burnt coffee with ice in it (versus the smoother, nuttier/chocolatey flavor of other cold brews I've had). Would not recommend using the bathroom here either... read more

This is a convenient Second Cup in the Entertainment District and next to a few bars and to/from the Financial District - perfect for any kind of pick me up! They have a Pinkberry inside this Second Cup. I've never ordered from this side. I've been here many times and it's never looked quite open. On the coffee side of things, it's the same as other Second Cups. They have all the regular drinks, take home beans and kits to make at home, and other coffee wares for sale. It's a little fancier in terms of decor than your average Second Cup. I do find that this one seems a little grimier in general but mainly due to it being very high traffic. One thing I wish they could work on as a chain is the cups and sleeves. Their regular coffee is served HOT and the sleeve doesn't help that much to protect your fingers! read more

There are gnats buzzing around, sitting in the pastries, and caught all along the seam of the glass divider *barf* Mum ordered a smoothie because they were out of the drink that she wanted. This location is quite special. It is fancy, huge, bright and lots of seating. I really like their bar stool area especially with the street view and comes with their superbly, magnificent marble table! This location is also not far from the CN Tower, in fact; you can see it sitting down at their bar stools while enjoying your favorite beverage. By the way, they even provide you wireless charging! That is a huge plus for me!! Second Cup in my humble opinion, would be considered like Peet's Coffee in the US, great coffee, except nicer, fancier and has a "Frenchy" influence. I didn't know they have more than 300 location in Canada and growing!! Some I was told are Franchised, and quite possibly this one, which made sense since it seemed to cater to its neighborhood and customer service was excellent!! This place is on a corner with a great view! The baristas here are super friendly and they have Pinkberry too if you want something cold and refreshing. The coffee has a very earthy flavor and is pretty rich. I ordered a flat white and my husband ordered a latte, and both were good. They have a pastry case with brownies that have a "gluten friendly" sign, which I thought was pretty funny. They also have a milk tap bar they use instead of pitchers or jugs of milk. Stumbled upon Second Cup during a weekend trip to Toronto. It appears to be a chain across the area, as we saw several locations. Stopped in here on the way to Union Station from the aquarium. I tried the salted butterscotch cold brew and my friend tried the almond milk mocca. I literally cannot say enough about tasty that butterscotch bev was. It was liquid gold. The elixir of life. Everything I needed in my heart and soul. They also have breakfast items that looked pretty good, but it was the caffeine pick me up that I needed so that's all I got. I was upset when the Second Cup at University and Adelaide shut down and became a crappy all-day breakfast place. Second Cup is the only chain in town that has a decent hot chocolate. This location is no different. While the hot chocolate at Starbucks and Tim Hortons is some kind of a watery tasteless murky mud water Second Cup's is always perfect. Not too sweet, but definitely tasty and rich. The large hot chocolate will set one back $4.90. I also recommend you try the banana loaf here. It is tasty and fresh. As others have mentioned this is a nice location with modern amenities and a curved bar. There are several seating options and they are mostly good except for the two in front of the door. Those are designed to give the occupiers pneumonia in the winter. Wi-fi was perfect. read more

What a cool chain coffee chain! This was our last stop in Toronto before driving home to Chicago. I rank Second Cup leaps and bounds above Tim Hortons. I also rank it above Starbucks. Basically, based on the places I've tried so far, Second Cup is my top coffee chain recommendation. Even though I love supporting small local businesses, sometimes there are perks to choosing a chain. The best part is that you know exactly what the offerings are you know exactly what you get. Second Cup is one such place. This location is sleek, clean, and modern. There are phone charging stations. Classy wall art. Great service. And you even get real cups if you dine in! (Much better than Starbucks.) We decided to get a butter tart and a maple latte because it seemed like the "Canadian" thing to do. (What can I say? We're tourists.) The butter tart was a little bland and not the freshest. I would say that was the only thing keeping me from giving this place five stars. I loved the maple latte a lot more than I thought I would! I'm not big on overly sweet or maple syrup in general, so this was a great surprise. I will definitely be coming back to Second Cup the next time I visit Toronto. I remember Second Cup from high school....these were the years before Starbucks appeared and took over. Remember how you use to be able to got a white hot chocolate and it was awesome? Okay...if you don't remember then you are likely a young millennial (while I'm an older millennial). In any case, while I do go to Starbucks, I do still split my time with Second Cup. Their new Batch49 coffee is quite good, hot or iced. Their coffee quality hasn't faltered, and I find for the most part, less burnt tasting then Starbucks (I only get blonde at Starbucks). I still love you Second Cup, you introduced me to coffee...and I'm happy to continue to be supporting a truly Canadian company. As for this location, while busy, the line moved quickly, easy pay...and heck I even signed up for the second cup account with app (I didn't even know till I saw the advertisement). It's pretty cool. I've been picking up their Iced coffees all summer as they have had a promotion on their new Batch49 coffees. Sometimes it's a coffee for only 49 cents, other times it's buy one get one free. Came to this coffee stop in Canada because it was so close to the CN tower. There is no "Second Cup" in the U.S. So I had to try this place out. Let's talk about the espresso. The roast had an acidic yet caramel sensation at the same time had an earthy tone which was not bitter to the taste. The baristas were really nice and friendly which is always great, especially on a Monday morning. My drinks were well made in pretty cups, and my chocolate almond croissant was also warmed up without me having to ask. This Second Cup is for sure on my good cafes to visit list! My favourite Second Cup location to relax and charge my phone while I work on my emails. This is one of the newly renovated locations that are designed to modernize Second Cup, along with the new app that you can scan to pay with. When you walk in, there's brass, wood, and marble everywhere, giving it a very upscale feel that bests Starbucks. The milk and crème come out of a tap which is a bit weird, but I went along with it. In the middle is the slow bar where you can sit down, charge your phone using the wireless chargers freely given, and order a pour over or any other drink and pay while you're seated. For me, this is a very unique experience, and the baristas are very friendly and welcoming. One time I overheard a couple from Hamilton talk to a barista for over 15 mins and he was patient enough with them and answered all their questions. Brand new interior is fantastic, bright white colours make it very exciting and redesigned corporate image makes this store a solid competitor to the Starbucks close by. Wireless chargers are great but I don't find them that powerful. Prices expensive but that appears to be the new image they are trying to take on. I wanted to try your new coconut turmeric smoothie since I saw your posters outside the store so I simply asked "do you know what it tastes like?". On this particular trip, I drank a lot of coffee at Tim Horton's and Second Cup, and didn't drop a dime at Starbucks. I stopped at this Entertainment District Second Cup after my day march through Toronto took me down through Queen Street and back towards University. Store staff was friendly, the coffee and butter tart combination was tasty, and the space was comfortable and cozy.
