Newly renovated Second Cup which reminds me of Nespresso at Yorkville. I was curious to see what this particular location had to offer as it is one of the first to be renovated to a more "upper scale" cafe. The interior is very nicely decorated and offers spacious seating area to one side of the cafe. I especially liked the cream and milk dispensing centre as it uses a push down knob tap design- much like a water dispenser. However, there were no changes or additions to the food and drink menu options. In fact, this location no longer serves flavoured coffee, which had always been my favourite drink to get at Second Cup. My coworker ended up ordering a regular coffee which he was disappointed with as well as the coffee tasted almost burnt. I'm impressed with how they have renovated this location, however I was disappointed with their food and drink options available. read more

Stopped by just to see the contrats between Starbucks and the Cup. Not much do a difference and service was just ok. Also coffee was so so.

As Fabio N. stated its very hard to review any of the cookie-cutter, head-office-regulated big-chain places. Second Cup is no different. This particular location is small. I would advise ensuring there is seating available before you pay for your coffee so you're not left awkwardly standing like a loser hovering over other coffee sippers for a table. Of course, if you don't mind getting your coffee to go then knock yourself out. I, however, like to sit back and melt into a couch with my iPhone. Try to nab one of their plush lounge chairs! Second Cup sells SUPERIOR COFFEE QUALITY. I highly recommend it. Nothing compares to the full of chemicals, artificial coffee at Starbucks.

Chain coffee shops are non-avoidable. I don't mind hitting them up once in a while. Second Cup was a favorite of mine when I younger. After working at their direct rival for almost five years, I never drank Second Cup because I had a discount elsewhere. But nowadays, I'm indifferent and tend to drink drip or tea more often than not. I do have a soft spot for the vanilla bean latte or plain Icepresso. I discovered at Christmas that I LOVE their eggnog latte. ALSO It's super great that they don't charge for lactose-free, especially since i have a bit of a sensitivity. This location specifically is obviously on the older side, definite lack of power outlets is a dead giveaway. But Second Cup as a whole is a bit outdated from decor to retail to lack of specialty drinks. Coffee's coffee. This isn't the most ideal location to loiter and get work done on the laptop but alas, its good for a quick caffeine fix because a film or play. I'm not sure about the whole "steam punk" concept. I know that's the look they're trying to go for, but it definitely wasn't the vibe I got visiting this location. I felt that the design scheme was much more "trendy coffee shop" than "steam punk" which isn't necessarily a bad thing. This newly renovated location is open and inviting. It has lots of seating, big windows to let in natural light, and wireless charging stations for your cell phones. Other than the decor this is just a standard corporate coffee shop. They serve decent coffee and tea made any way you like it with a variety of milk and flavouring options. There wasn't anything here that really blew me away but I wasn't disappointed either. Regardless, I always find it difficult to review chain coffee shops as I usually end up rating them against each other. That being said, while I've been to better coffee shops, this was probably the best Second Cup I have ever been to. read more

Second Cup is my favourite coffee chain. Given the option, I will always choose a drink from Second Cup over Tim Horton's or Starbucks - especially for their vanilla bean hot chocolate. I often times have excellent experience and enjoy my drinks. This location, however, can failed to meet my expectations. I don't know if it's because they are always very busy or if they just lack strong communication between the baristas and cashiers, but I have had several instances where I've left dissatisfied. During my most recent visit, I ordered an apple cider (my favourite fall drink), and requested an additional scoop of the mix to make it a little extra sweet. While the cashier had listened and said yes, this was not written on the cup or communicated to the barista, resulting in a sub-par cider. Also, during a previous visit I ordered a vanilla flavoured cold brew coffee, only to find all of the syrup at the bottom of the cup. As you can imagine, my first sip was very unpleasant. This is very unfortunate, since I do love Second Cup. Thankfully, there are other locations nearby. read more

We are visiting Toronto for the weekend and have been to Second Cup twice. It looks like there are several locations throughout the city. The flat white is really good if you like plain espresso and steamed milk (no added sugars). My mother had the pumpkin spice latte which was so much better tasting than Starbuck's version. The chamomile tea here is also nice and actually smells strongly of chamomile! My favorite item here is the blueberry scone, so good! It's hardly sweet which I found so refreshing since everything in the U.S. is overly sweetened. I may pick up one of these scones to take back with me to the states before leaving. If you're torn between Starbucks and Second Cup, I hope you will choose Second Cup! read more

After this second cup changed their management, although they got a new look, the coffee is nasty and so is the food!! I swear their dark roast tasted like urine and they don't even carry a sandwich selection that other places carry. The new look is not even necessary. There is no space to sit anymore especially during rush hours. read more

Second Cup Cafe is a wonderful, clean label company with incredible product and lovely customer service. The one I worked at for less than two months was just a little too chaotic for me, so unfortunately I had to quit. It just wasn't a reasonable job for my lifestyle at the moment, but I loved the environment and the friends I made through working there. I have no hard feelings towards the management or the company. I hope the new Saskatoon location all the best in their successes and I hope that I can come visit soon! read more

Out of the choices close by this is the best for sitting and enjoying a cup of joe. The place is clean and has decent wifi with ok seating inside and out. Don't be tempted by the Tim horton's across the street or the Starbucks a block away, this place is the best choice of the three. I'm usually a HUGE fan of second cup for their hazelnut latte but this location is awful service was poor we arrived shortly before close and the baristas kept turning away customers in line because they wanted to get out right at 11... the bathroom YES only ONE was clogged, no toilet paper and very unkept. After waiting for our food and drink we sat down and rushed to enjoy our coffees and cake only to be asked by the barista to leave because they were closed (all the while there were another 10 people still standing in line waiting to order. Which means there would still be enough time for us to at least finish our cake .... we left but I will not be returning to this location ever again. Also my latte was not made correctly, missing the white chocolate pump but I didn't go back to change it because they were half assing everything read more

I go here pretty often since it's in the basement of my office. The coffee is decent, with a good mix of specials from time to time. The regular staff is also ok, generally remembering faces and orders, though I change up enough that they've stopped trying. The baked goods are pretty crappy - best to stock up elsewhere. My particular vice is cheese scones - these ones are dry and overpriced. Tim Hortons around the corner stocks ones with superior flavour and 1/3 the price. read more

Second Cup in my humble opinion, would be considered like my mom's coffee in Indonesia, great coffee, except nicer and fancier. I gotta tell ya, they made me a super duper cappuccino that put a smile on my face and brought back special memories from back home. Visit a Second Cup and enjoy their comfy sitting area where you will have a room with a view, wireless charging and plenty of charging ports. New decor is really inviting. Charging areas are an added plus. Their steam punk is really cool and the taste of the coffee is pretty good. However, I'm not sure it's worth the hefty $4.95 price tag for a small cup. It does taste significantly better compared to Starbuck's clover machine. The fountain style milk counter looks really great. Unfortunately, this location failed to them constantly refilled. It didn't matter to me so much because I use lactose free milk which is free here. I will make the trip to come back to this location. I'm very happy to see that a Canadian company is rebranding themselves to stay competitive and relevant amongst all these American companies.
