We love coffee and every city we visit we try to find a great coffee shop. Fahrenheit really impressed us while visiting Toronto. They had 3 different beans available during our stay and we enjoyed all 3, however the Papa New Guinea stood out as a favorite. They also have beans available so we were able to bring our favorite beans home. They also tried the nitro and it was awesome. The shop is nice and simple like many European coffee shops. It is simply decorated and matches the vibe of the building. The service was second to none. Each barista was knowledgeable and they all shared differing opinions of things we could do while in town. This was my first week trying out Fahrenheit coffee and in this week I've already stopped by twice. I love that it's along my route and opens at 7am which is perfect for me to stop by on the way to work. This place is super quaint. I love that the drinks are reasonably priced and you can choose one of 3 types of coffee beans. Earlier this week I tried the Diablo in an Americano. The Diablo was described as having notes of hazelnut and 70% cocoa which was definitely calling my name. The Americano with a splash of oat milk was strong but smooth. Absent were the sour or acidic notes I dislike in some coffees. On my second visit to Fahrenheit I had a conversation with Joseph about the Tanzania versus the Kenyan coffee, and my dislike for acidic coffees. He was so sweet and didn't charge me for my coffee so that I could try out the Tanzanian in an Americano (although I was more than happy to pay). I did notice more fruity (perceived by my non-coffee connoisseur palate as acidic) notes in my coffee. Overall still a good coffee but my preference would still be for the Diablo beans. When I arrived shortly after store opening, the shop was filled with the aroma of freshly baked goods. I purchased a still warm and buttery cheddar chive scone the first time I was there (sooo good!), and a banana chocolate chip muffin on my second visit. Street parking is available along Richmond Street. They do not currently have seating in the shop as capacity limits are set at 2 persons at a time. If you have not been to Fahrenheit coffee or haven't been in a long time, you really need to go and check them out! read more

This is a popular spot with my spouse and his coworkers, and I can see why. Barista is very friendly and definitely has a real passion for coffee, which is a plus. He asked a customer how his coffee was and did not hesitate to remake when it was anything less than awesome, which I appreciate. My cappuccino was fantastic--the espresso was mellow with a slight sweetness, and the barista made magic with the almond milk. It was the best coffee I've had all week. I also got a cherry and white choco scone, and it was slightly crunchy on outside but soft and not too sweet on inside. That outer delicate crispiness is a rare find in scones which was a delight to experience. The cherries and white chocolate add just enough sweetness, although the white chocolate was a bit hidden within the scone. It paired very well with my coffee, and I am definitely looking forward to coming here again. read more

Yes yes yes I'll go along with the 5-star bandwagon here! Stellar coffee that makes me melt with satiation. The staff is cool, the owner is a great guy willing to talk about anything, as long as it's coffee related and you are happily sipping one of his concoctions. There's always bumpin' music playing and a friendly 'hello' as you walk in this Fahrenheit. I put up with shit coffee all week at work and have no problem at all with that because I know I will be heading back home downtown to where the great coffee from places like this and Strange Love down the street. I've tried the 3 different beans available and they are all good smacking you in the tastebuds with flavour and cutting through the fog like a karate chop to your senses. I've tried the cappuccino, the flat white, and the latte, as well as grabbing a drip coffee to go (black of course) and they all taste fantastic! You can likely drop by here while driving and stopping right in front which I have seen a few people do - grab and go, but sitting at the little chairs out front and enjoying the sleepy streetscape is worthwhile too. After trying out 70+ cafes in Toronto, I thought I covered most of the best spots and I had my top 5. Well, let me add Fahrenheit Richmond to that top 5 list easily and thank my new fav barista Sabin for that amazing flat white and one of the friendliest encounters at a cafe. This particular site is small... like 4 tiny bar stool seating with the barista spot being a tiny bit bigger. Though it is a smaller space, it delivers big on all accounts that would make this your top coffee spot in Toronto. Great tastes... yup! Friendly barista that is knowledgeable and passionate ... oh yeah! Affordable ... uh huh! Cute little spot that is easy to get to... yes! I first knew of Fahrenheit from reading a few top espresso list and visited their other bigger place in Corktown. I wish I visited this site sooner. What separates Fahrenheit from the other spots around Toronto? The barista, flavour, and execution. It has been a long time where I've sipped a flat white and actually pause because my brain was firing off a 'damn thats really good' thought. Sabin, the barista, is a humble and yet very open & friendly guy. He does the cafe himself on Sundays. Turns out he also works at another favourite of mine, Arvo in distillery. If you find yourself at either place, consider yourself lucky and ready for a great great drink. He can easily speak to regulars and talk about past topics or with new people (like me!) and spring up a genuine conversation. Most baristas do some sort of eye contact and that's it. Sabin makes you believe this is your coffee spot in Toronto. You are given a choice of beans to make your espresso... Sabin was able to help figure out which is the one you'd like based on the notes, acidity, and roasting you'd prefer. I ended up getting the Ethiopia with its lower acidity but interesting notes of milk, floral, and strawberry. We also got another flat white with their Brazil Diablo (tried this one in corktown). Diablo has richer notes of dark chocolate, hazelnut, and toffee. I have to say these do make a difference... it's not in your face with the notes but you can clearly taste one having more of a berry and floral finish compared to the more deeper tastes of caramel. Flat White (with almond milk) - As for flavour and execution, damn... this is possibly the best I've had in Toronto. Really. Great balance between espresso and milk ... giving it a bit of a creamier texture but not losing any of the rich espresso flavour. Microfoam was perfect... just on the top but not overfoamed to the point it looks like bath bubbles. This was closer to crema. The coffee bean flavour was so nuanced... I usually get one or two notes at most but not here. Here I could tell the differences... my Ethiopia lighter but still full bodied, more fruit forward, and a hint of berry (Ethiopia). I was debating to grab a 2nd cup before leaving... thats how good it was. I would say this is very drinkable even for people new to espresso drinks. A clear city favourite of mine now. 5+/5 Toronto best... I would say that Fahrenheit and Sabin raised the bar in Toronto for me. Absolutely love this place! I've been meaning to review it since they opened. This is an office favourite- though we have many (such a good area for amazing coffee spots!) so we try our best to rotate them. When we asked the owner which one of the roasts he recommended, he said it was like asking him to choose between his children. We had a good laugh :P We have ended up trying all of them. My favourite by far is Diablo. During the first week that they opened, they generously offered all drinks on the house for the entire week, so we got to try quite a bit, but I've settled into the soy vanilla latte with diablo as my go-to. Friendly and knowledgable barista made the place comfortable. Reasonably priced at $3.50 for quality espresso. Espresso based drinks only (i.e. no pour-over or drip). I was insulted by the store employee because I dared say my girlfriend who was waiting outside was the Boss (of her coffee). Despite my request he stopped doing so, in the span of two minutes, he kept calling me (and "guys here like me") a "wuss" 5 times, making this coffee and mental break from work quite an uplifting experience. It did not stop there... Upon leaving the coffee shop, the employee says "bye" then waits for the door to close and probably thought I could not hear him anymore and then tells the patron next in line "what a wuss". Enough was enough, I then reopened the door and called him out on his rude behaviour and went my way. He did not seem happy to have been called out and rushed out of the store (it looked like he wanted to start a fight like we were in some sot of ghetto movie) and started telling me to "listen to him like a gentleman" or whatever that means in the ghetto he's from... a seriously WTF moment. No, actually the absolute worse WTF moment of 2020 coffee moments and 2020 had quite its share. Farenheit, I'll keep it polite, you used to be a good spot but this is simply unacceptable. The staff are super friendly as well as knowledgable (Alan is like a walking coffee dictionary)! Never have the kind of coffee beans made a difference to me (cue drum roll) - UNTIL NOW. I'm spoiled. If you're going to go anywhere in the city for coffee, then this is the place to go! I work and live relatively close by, but it's their amazing coffee and service that has me coming back. Every single time I've come here, I've left with a big smile on my face since all the guys working here are so nice and hilarious! It feels like you're going to your best friend's house for a cup of coffee and I love that about this place. The guy with the tattoos is hands down the best, but I think he may also be the owner. Regardless, he's always gone above and beyond. I wish this place had some more seating to do some work, but it's perfect the way it's setup.
