Lots of options with great coffee. Not a ton of seating but it's cute. Lots of brew options at the brew bar. We had the V60 pour over and classic drip to see the difference and wow!

Why do I want to think of toilet paper when drinking coffee. Spent a few cents and get a custom sleeve.

I've tried this coffee shop a couple of times, but always disappointed by the flavor of the coffee which for me is "too brunt, or dark". I am intrigued to try Greek coffee here, but from having both iced and lattes, I'm passing it by. I tried a flat white, same "burned or too dark" and I was turned off by the cup not being full and the advertising for toilet paper on the cup sleeve! is it just me or why would I want to drink coffee and be thinking of toilet paper!

After spending 6 weeks in Greece and having Coffee Island coffeecinos almost every other day, my bf and I had to finally visit the Toronto location to see if we can get our coffeecinos cravings fulfilled here. EVEN THOUGH coffeecinos are made from a pre-mix powder (which I also purchased a bag of in Greece to make at home lol) it still obviously did not hit the same, as they did in Greece. I mean a lot of factors could play into this, the difference in milk source, when in Greece you're walking and drinking in the heat. The heat is different in Greece than it is in Toronto. So while it didn't suck lol I wouldn't say it was the same. But it still tasted okay and I finished the whole thing lol. The Toronto size is also I think bigger than the large size in Greece. But the large in Greece would only cost $3 CAD, where in Toronto it cost almost $6. If I've never tried them in Greece, I would probably think this was pretty good. Now the 4 stars or majority of stars actually go to their baked goods. I purchased an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie and an almond croissant. I was very surprised by the almond croissant. It is actually a contender up against Nadege's almond croissants. Can you believe that? While Nadege obvz still remains superior, Coffee Island's was veeeeery good. Great buttery flakey pastry and the almond filling did not have that fake almond extract taste. I loved it and it really caught me off guard with how good it was. See pics. I ate the cookie the next day, warmed up for 10 seconds and this was also very good. Nice soft, chewy texture, exactly how I like it. It was just the right amount of sweetness and everything you would hope for in an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. It was also a great size. See pics. So ya, very surprised with the quality of the baked goods here. Probably won't return or go out of my way to come back but if I'm in the area, I will be sure to pick up some pastries again.

Definitely a cute little business. The place is rather small but the folks have big personalities. The employees are very nice. I didn't try their food but their drinks are always on point.

Small coffee shop with an incredibly big menu of coffee and brewing methods. You can buy beans and grinds here too. They will make custom mix for you if you wish too. Brew bar offers more than the typical offerings: drip, aeropress, chemex, and syphon too! Service is fast and friendly. Had a v60 drip, cappuccino with oatmilk, cheddar and chive scone and ham and cheese croissant. The pastries were heated up and great! Drinks were also good. Will be back to try more! There is seating inside and outside too.

Being a person who is always up for new change brought me here. Instead of my usual Nespresso machine, decided to stroll on in here early in the morning. Opted for the syphoned method of brewing to see if there was anything significantly different. Did it taste different from home brewed? Yes Did it look cool? Yes Would I leave the comfort of my home and go out of my way to get a cup of coffee? Nope Overall a different experience.

"Iced latte" - more like iced coffee

I'm not sure why this place is rated this well given how terrible my experience was. I came in looking to have an iced mocha - a very typical drink available in most cafes; but I suppose not here. As I was asking if it was available and told no by the person at the counter, i said can I order hot mocha with ice. He said sure; but then out of nowhere the owner (or manager?) maybe in the most patronizing tone told me that it's very important to know your drink and that the only way to make an iced mocha is by making it an ice blended drink. She continued on saying that "you need to trust us on this; how else would you make an iced mocha if not to blend it with ice ". I held off my thought since I really don't want to make any scene there; but FYI ma'am; people have been making iced mochas since forever. In my mind also, what kind of a cafe would this be with this kind of manager/owner. Even another customer next to me said in front of an employee that she's had lots of iced mochas in other cafes. So I went on to order and iced latte and was asked if I wanted to add a chocolate shot in it; and I said why not. But I got the drink and realized wow - I now kind of understand why; this was possibly the worst "iced latte" I've ever had in my life. I've been drinking coffee since I was 6 so I know a thing or two about the drinks; and that was by no means an iced latte. I think McDonald's iced coffee might have been a better choice. The only salvation for this place was the nice little patio it has with good internet; but that's about it I'd say. I'd not be coming back - that's for sure

No idea why they have the rating they do. Iced freddo cappuccino wasn't really cold and it was very very bitter. There was a powdery after taste and it was hard to get ride of it.

On a peaceful, but particularly bland stretch of Bay Street, Coffee Island is a welcome addition to the hood. As the first reviewer noted, it's an import from Greece. From my perspective this is one of those serious coffee shop with admirable aspirations, but without pretension due to the friendly baristas. They have a lot of brewing methods including ibrik, aeropress, filter, espresso and possibly more. There are also teas, treats and coffee equipment for purchase. You can sit down if you like and the space is modern and bright. Highlight: Microfarm farm project coffee I didn't know what microfarm single origin coffee meant when I first walked in, but before learning about anything I could taste that my Americano was delicious.

Lot of varieties and effort with COFFEE. numerous home brew supplies and options. The flat white (Brasil) was excellent, interested to try other beans.

Coffee Island is a very refreshing option with a very pleasant and wide-ranging menu. They service is quick and friendly. However the place can be a bit overwhelming as there are tooo many things that they are trying to sell, and so is the menu. Lastly, this is an amazing coffee shop, but the location just doesn't make sense. Their target market is at Yorkville PS. Try the Greek coffee!

They don't give you tap water if you ask for a cup of water.

I ordered three items, so I'm a paid customer. I go back in to get two cups of water with ice because the cappucino Freddo with crème is thick. They said they only do bottled water....... What? There is a sink behind them. There are cups beside them. Might as well go to Starbucks to get tap water because clearly there's a drought here.

This is their hot chocolate (caramel+sea salt). Not too sweet, which is great :)

Good place, good staff, good vibe, and very good coffee. We tried their hot chocolate and it was really good (not too sweet). Their space is a bit limited in the winter time because they can't use the outside seating area, otherwise all was good!

I know that the ube trend is taking over but PLEASE before you advertise your product as such, DO YOUR RESEARCH and make sure that you are actually serving the thing.
