But The Only kept coming up in reminisces and we'd check if it was still around, and it was. Today we made it back, and wow, they have done really well. I'm sitting in the cafe part of The Only, and it's fabulous; eclectic and artsy and unpretentious with great coffee, baked goods and nice staff. The original space I would have a beer in years ago is closed. So we'll have to come back another time for a beer. In the meantime I'm listening to animated chatter and a great music as I sip my coffee and enjoy looking around this interesting space.

I really love the way they make the rosa latte here as well as the stuffed arepas. The sauces are also amazing and I highly recommend the green one. Parking can be a bit of a challenge and transit might be the best way to get there. They also sell local grocery products. This place is definitely worth a try if you are in the area.

I decided to chill on the patio for a few minutes enjoying my beverage before I was on my way. Service was friendly, the place wasn't busy at all considering it's about a 7-10 min walk from Pape subway station. Overall, a good coffee shop in the East York area - something to try if you're in the area!

They serve a variety of espresso based drinks but also have non-coffee options too as well as teas. There are also pastries as well as coffee gear and beans for sale. Currently Dopapen Coffee is in their soft opening phase. I stopped by Dopapen Coffee on a Thursday afternoon to grab a coffee. The vibes of the place were relaxing and chill. There were a few customers but it was nice to be able to sit down and relax for a bit. I opted to grab an espresso tonic which was made at a reasonable time. Coffee tasted good. It was also nice to browse their coffees on sale as well. Service was friendly too. Overall, a great new neighbourhood cafe that's somewhat hidden from the main streets. I stopped by in a recent visit to Toronto when it made more sense to wait for my wife than to drive back and forth from our hotel in Mississauga amidst... hey did you know that (unscientific as this may be) traffic may actually be worst on weekends than during the week? Reason is that, while many folks commute using public transit, car owners drive to their destinations on weekends. This is a small, sun-shiny kind of space, with Wifi. The front part, especially, is a good place to bask in the rays. They seem to offer a few food choices for breakfast and lunch, but since I was just looking for a place to hang out for 90 minutes, I was going to be "minimal patron". I thought about another coffee, but decided against it, since I already had double the caffeine I usually consume before noon, I opted for the "cheapest" choice, in the form of a Perrier. Cha-ching and "ouch" and $3.74 later (OK it's CAD, but still), I'm left wondering whether I could have made a better choice: as in, a cookie and that bottle of water I had with me?
