My wife and I were delighted by the beautiful work done by ATOZ Renovations. We're not in the habit…read moreof writing rave reviews. (We're New Yorkers after all.) But the job they did deserves recognition. Among the many people worth a shout-out: designer Chaya Uzan whose enthusiasm and ideas gave us a sense that our project was quite special; and Robbie Goldberg, our day-to-day contact and project manager, who brought a craftsman's eye to all aspects of the job. When problems were encountered, problems were fixed. An example: once we installed a new oven in the kitchen we realized that we would have to do without a favorite built-in spice cabinet. Robbie came up with ingenious fix requiring some custom carpentry so that the spice rack did not disappear but became an integral of the whole. Anthony, our renovation expert, was our first contact with A to Z. He encouraged us not to give up on what we wanted the project to look like even though other renovators had told us it was impossible to do. He also offered to answer any questions we might have along the way. Then there's Shevy, the permit and insurance coordinator. She dealt with the necessary paperwork and kept the inspectors at bay so we did not have to deal with those headaches. And last but not least, Mario, the site manager, who was there every day, hands-on, always professional and pleasant. On that note, the entire team seemed to like one another and treated us and each other with a refreshing degree of decency and consideration. To summarize: The team at ATOZ was thoroughly professional and kept us informed with clear, consistent communication every step of the way. Importantly, the team worked efficiently to stay on schedule and were fair when an unexpected issues arose, providing clear solutions. The final result is exceptional, and the quality of work exceeded our expectations. We would not hesitate to recommend ATOZ to anyone.

Always found William Sonoma an interesting place to window shop, especially for ideas…read more Their William Sonoma brand shelf stable food items can work well as a nice gift for the holidays... especially when you want to bring something fancy, packaged well, that the recipient will know you paid a premium for... and something they'd unlikely buy for themselves. However, typically gift those on my list something other than food. Given my extensive inherited and elsewhere sourced kitchen equipment, utensils, tableware, it's not a place I'd ever purchase anything in those categories. For example, I'm fully stocked in enamel coated cast iron cookware, although it's nice to check out their Le Creuset selection. (Important to me since I've completely stopped using non-stick cookware.) If you follow my reviews, you may be surprised I'm also not in the market for a fully automatic espresso machine that costs over $4K! (To be precise, list their exclusive Jura Z10 for $4299.95 plus tax. Wow! Glad William Sonoma made it a better deal by shaving off that nickel - which amounts to 5 now obsolete pennies.) That being said, I'm sure William Sonoma is a great place for a wedding registry, although could easily believe their non-exclusive items are cheaper online.

Williams Sonoma, I have a question for you: why lie to your customers?…read more I went to this WS location because it's in my neighborhood. I was looking to purchase two items and struck out on both. First item: a 10-inch Heston pan (to replace a much-used one in my kitchen). No dice. They have sets of two or more but you can't just buy one, so I was told by the snippy guy who "helped" me. Strike one. Second item: a SodaStream replacement cylinder. I brought in the empty one and asked about purchasing a new one. They said they're "having problems with the supplier -- nobody can find them anywhere." This was the same story they told me 4 months ago. At that time, I was able to purchase one around the corner at the hardware store. Again today, I was able to easily get one at the same hardware store. My question: why lie? Clearly it is not difficult to get these cylinders, they're available all over the city. Yet WS continues to give customers this bogus excuse. They really should just fess up that they don't want to be in the business of selling these things. WS is still listed on the SodaStream website as a cylinder refill supplier. They should be removed from that list -- and they should just send people around the corner when they ask. It's the decent thing to do. I'm finished with this place.

I recently completed a full renovation of three bathrooms and sourced all of my wall and floor…read moretiles through TileBar -- and I cannot say enough great things about my experience, particularly thanks to Luis. From start to finish, Luis made what could have been an overwhelming process feel completely effortless. Ordering tiles for three separate bathrooms means juggling a lot of SKUs, styles, and quantities, but Luis handled everything with impressive proficiency and a calm, reassuring ease that made me feel like I was in great hands the whole time. One thing that stood out: when our tiles arrived, the labels on several boxes looked quite different from what we had ordered, which initially caused some concern. Luis quickly helped us sort through it -- and sure enough, every single tile was exactly what we had selected. His knowledge and attention to detail saved us a lot of unnecessary worry. On top of that, two boxes arrived with tiles that had been damaged during transport. Without any hassle or back-and-forth, Luis arranged for immediate replacements. No headaches, no delays -- just swift, no-questions-asked customer service at its finest. All three bathrooms turned out beautifully, and I genuinely believe that's in no small part due to the support and expertise Luis provided throughout this process. If you're taking on a tile project of any size, ask for Luis. You'll be in the best hands.

I purchased floor and wall tiles in the Stacy Garcia Maddox collection a few months ago and was…read morecontacted by a TileBar representative (over a week after placing my order) asking if it was okay if my wall tile came from different lots. After reviewing the attached pictures, I approved my order. After another week of waiting, I contact Tilebar and inquired about when my order would ship and they informed me that my order had shipped, but I hadn't before this correspondence received any shipping info. When my tiles arrived, half of my wall tile order (6 out of 13 boxes) were a different tile all together--not the tiles from a different lot that I had been contacted to approve. When I contacted TileBar, they informed the that they no longer carried the tile that I had originally ordered. In the span of 4 weeks, I placed an order, approved a slight change to my order, received the incorrect tiles, and was informed then that half of my wall tile order could not be fulfilled. While I was able to receive a refund for my wall tiles, this series of events seriously delayed my renovations and I had to change my design plans. Luckily Home Depo carried the exact same tile, under a slightly different name, and while they didn't carry the color I originally wanted, I bought with them successfully (and for less) and would not recommend TileBar.

Coming from someone that is allergic to egg whites I don't really own a Whisk for that purpose. I'm familiar with the product from my Mother and Daughter. They're the cooks. I found this store interesting since it's named after a single kitchen utensil. You can order from the company online. I purchase items for my daughter as gifts. After all she bakes for me. I see this as a local business. During the pandemic I find it best to support them by shopping on line. Our Home goods stores in my neighborhood have closed. I'm happy for those of you that live near Whisk. I learned a lot about this cooking utensil from this business. They have a wide selection of other quality products not just whisks. For your information: A Whisk is a cooking utensil used to blend ingredients smooth and to incorporate air into a mixture. The process is known as whisking or whipping. Most Whisks consist of a long, narrow handle with a series of wire loops joined at the end. The wires are usually metal, but some are plastic for use with nonstick cookware. Whisks are also made from bamboo. Those Swedes could make some bamboo whisks! Whisks are commonly used to whip egg whites into a firm foam to make meringue, and to whip cream into whipped cream. Whisks have different shaped loops depending on their intended functions. Since the 19th Century, various mechanical devices have been designed to make whisking more efficient, under the names egg beater and rotary mixer. Until I started looking for a gift I had no idea there are so many varieties of whisks. I have used an egg beater for mashed potatoes! Any serious chef has a wide variety of Whisks in their kitchen. I'm not one anymore. I shop for gifts. This is a one of a kind store. They carry a large selection of merchandise. They sharpen knives too!
