TileBar customer service is there to always blame the customer. We received the wrong tile from what was ordered. My initial reaction was, that's ok, happens sometimes. So I called the customer service thinking it would be an easy fix for them... Nope. They refused to acknowledge the wrong tiles were sent, blamed me for ordering the wrong tiles and wanted me to pay for the return freight shipping while refusing to refund the initial shipping cost as well. Keep in mind, they also have a 15% restocking fee, no matter who made the mistake. AVOID. read more

I purchased floor and wall tiles in the Stacy Garcia Maddox collection a few months ago and was contacted by a TileBar representative (over a week after placing my order) asking if it was okay if my wall tile came from different lots. After reviewing the attached pictures, I approved my order. After another week of waiting, I contact Tilebar and inquired about when my order would ship and they informed me that my order had shipped, but I hadn't before this correspondence received any shipping info. When my tiles arrived, half of my wall tile order (6 out of 13 boxes) were a different tile all together--not the tiles from a different lot that I had been contacted to approve. When I contacted TileBar, they informed the that they no longer carried the tile that I had originally ordered. In the span of 4 weeks, I placed an order, approved a slight change to my order, received the incorrect tiles, and was informed then that half of my wall tile order could not be fulfilled. While I was able to receive a refund for my wall tiles, this series of events seriously delayed my renovations and I had to change my design plans. Luckily Home Depo carried the exact same tile, under a slightly different name, and while they didn't carry the color I originally wanted, I bought with them successfully (and for less) and would not recommend TileBar. read more

I bought tile that was on sale last summer knowing my contractor wouldn't start my bathroom project until winter. None of the delivery boxes were dented or damaged. Upon delivery I opened all the outer boxes to make sure there was no damage to inner boxes and order was fulfilled. Outer and inner boxes were pristine. My tiler, as he began project this week, discovered more than 18 sq ft of tile were broken inside the inner boxes. Totally unusable. Extremely poor packaging for porcelain tile. I called TileBar customer service immediately to ascertain possible solutions or a refund on damaged materials. Her response was we can send you ideas in 5-10 days, rush order not available. Then deliver alternative tile in another 5-10 days, no rush order. No discount. No refund, not even partial one as apology for crappy packaging. Tile purchased and coordinated grout were of high quality and arrived in a timely manner. I was using tile for countertops and the result was very good. However, they sent me triple the amount of grout I actually ordered. I had to return a box of tiles and 2 bags of grout. I requested they waive the restocking fee on the grout and refund part of the return cost due to their shipping error. They waived the restocking fee but didn't help with the expensive return shipping. This was not an acceptable solution. I would recommend ordering over the phone to prevent this misunderstanding. read more

I have used this company numerous times, not just for myself, but for my clients too. I have never had an issue with their customer service being unresponsive. I bought some tiles for my backsplash, and the box came in with w few chipped tiles, and they offered to credit me the amount of chipped tiles or send me replacements for free. BUYER BEWARE OF TILEBAR!!! They are absolutely TERRIBLE! I ordered a sample of marble tile for a master bathroom floor, liked it, then ordered for the full room (about $5k in stone). The tile that arrived was not even close to the sample they sent me. I have worked with stone multiple times in the past, both in my properties and investment properties, so know what normal variation is. This was not normal. I worked through a decorator who agreed that the tile sent was not even close to the sample they sent. Both she and I tried to get them to take it back but they made it so difficult and expensive for me to return it that it was cheaper to trash it...which is exactly where the tile went. I'm sure Tilebar will respond to this complaint but whatever they say or offer is worth nothing. The tiles we received look dramatically different than the samples as well as the stock photos online. It should be consistent for obvious reasons. Our bathroom now has a very different appearance than we expected (contractor installed tiles shortly after they arrived so we didn't catch it before installed). given the cost of bathroom renovations it's extremely frustrating. If I could leave zero stars, I would. Absolutely terrible company. Gave me lead time of 4-10 business days between order and shipment. Did not hear from them until I called them on the sixth business day just to have them inform me that the tile I ordered was on backorder and wouldn't be available until October. That is two months later than I was originally told. Customer service was horrible and told me "it is what it is", that is a direct quote. Shop anywhere else, this company is trash. read more

Terrible customer service. Received three shipments in a row that had to be rejected due to extensive damage during shipment. This is only due to bad packaging and not the shipping company. We have received four shipments. The first shipment we received was OK. Boxes were palletized standing on edge, braced so they would not fall over, and strapped. The only concern was the plastic straps were stretched to their limit. Should have used steel straps. Two shipments were sent in cardboard boxes with no pallet and the last on a pallet with the boxes lying flat. All three arrived with cracked / shattered tiles. It is impossible to get through to management to voice concerns. They just don't give a damn! I am currently building a home that is now delayed because of their inability to properly pack a shipment of tile. read more

I loved selecting and ordering the tile until delivery. A guy dumped 1500 pounds of tile on my curb in the East Village and refused to help me carry it up two stairs because of "liability" issues. I am 65 and alone. I had to hire a different crew to actually deliver the tile into my home. I see the breakdown of America in this experience: liability is just another word for "we don't care what you need." I certainly do not need a delivery company that refuses to deliver. #fail read more

UPDATE - I added a star because my designer and the owner Mario worked to make this right for me, I received the remainder of my order today, 20 days after submitting. This order was wrapped very well and all tiles were intact. My designer was great to work with and she did the very best she could to help when we encountered these issues. I'm sure she was not happy to hear from me when things went south but she remained pleasant and focused on resolving the issue. However, UPS + NJ warehouse really did TileBar dirty here - the company really needs to work on these issues with shipping, tracking, packing large orders, and ensuring timely deliveries. I imagine most people ordering tiles are on a tight renovation schedule and can't afford delays due to these pervasive issues. If they can fix them, they could be a great company to work with. Original Review: I would not use TileBar again and wouldn't recommend them to anyone due to their pervasive shipping problems. We initially had a good experience ordering samples and working with one of their "designers", who provided excellent customer service when we had shipping issues with the sample orders (should have seen that red flag). I placed an order of basic white subway tile plus matching bullnose. The basic white arrived within 7-10 days as promised from their Phoenix warehouse but approximately 15% were damaged, and I was promptly credited for those. The bullnose shipped separately from NJ, but it never left the warehouse for some reason. A second replacement order recently shipped but is now MIA and I don't know when it will arrive. Because of this my kitchen renovation has been put on hold. I'm frustrated that my project is being held hostage and angry with myself for using TileBar... next time will just get tile from a local supplier or big box store. I found the perfect tile, the Portmore White, so I was willing to ignore the 71 ONE STAR reviews. Well, I regret that decision. Tiles arrived broken, so many that we were forced to incorporate stained/speckled pieces into our backsplash. Imagine paying hundreds of dollars for tiles, another $150+ for shipping, and then receiving horrendous customer service. I wish I could say I'm shocked at how this company is still in business, but clearly their inflated pricing and low overhead (apparently no one is actually in the warehouse filling orders...? My order took two weeks to arrive, and I'm still waiting on replacement tiles..) are keeping them afloat. Trust me, and the other 71 buyers who have been scammed- go somewhere else!! read more

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly The Good: We used TileBar for all of our shower tile in our new house mainly because they had a greater variety of colors that fit our decor. The Bad: A large amount of our tile arrived broken. Literally shattered into pieces. The Good: They quickly replaced all the broken tiles and shipped it asap. The Bad: the next delivery arrived with a broken case as well, but also an extra case. Almost like they knew one of them was dropped and probably broken. The Ugly: I recommend better wrapping and packaging as well as MUCH STURDIER BOXES - the boxes are literally falling apart, making it almost impossible to carry and move the cases. read more

Absolutely NO! I went on the Tilebar website and ordered a tile that I really like. I got an email confirmation that said my order would arrive in about 2 weeks. Then, a week later I got another email saying that the tile was backordered and would not be here for 6 weeks! My contractor was already here doing the work so I needed the tile when it was promised. The only thing I could do was cancel the order. I went to a local distributor and explained what happened. I learned that Tilebar is just a distributor like your local shop. Their prices are lower because they kill you with shipping costs. It was cheaper from my local place and they ordered it from the original source just like Tilebar did. So, I paid for the tile at my local place and was expecting a refund from Tilebar. I had to call several times about the refund and no one knew what they were talking about. They kept giving me the wrong amounts and saying that they couldn't just refund my card. They had to send a check in the mail. . .like, an actual paper check that would be delivered by the post office. OK, fine. A week goes by. Two weeks. Three weeks. No check. Finally, I called and said I was getting my lawyer involved. Viola - the check showed up in 2 days. I would never do business with Tilebar again and don't recommend them to anyone. I ordered 8 boxes of a 2'x4' tiles. They arrived on a palate mess. 6 of the 8 boxes were crushed. Tilebar did not take care to pack the boxes properly but they did refund the charges. Because the contractor is scheduled in two weeks I had to find a different local solution. read more

Don't order from Tilebar. We ordered 17 boxes of white portmore and some bull nose pieces. One box was half cracked upon delivery. We were on vacation when they were delivered. Multiple white tiles had speckling. We spent $1400 on tile and shipping. It would have been nice if customer service would have refunded some of the damaged or brown speckled product. Most of the tile I received from them was beautiful but one tile had multiple boxes of defective tiles and they would not publish that review or those pictures. Thus, the reviews make the tile seem like it only has 5 star reviews. As a trade client, I ordered 71 pieces of marble with an intricate inlaid pattern. The tiles are frequently on backorder, so I placed my order as soon as inventory was on stock to have them on hand for my project. The boxes were inspected at delivery (in June)but each piece is individually sleeved in plastic and styrofoam. It was impossible to view the multitudes of fractures in 28 pieces until after the plastic and styrofoam was removed (in September). My order was over $5200 for a single accent wall. After 4 weeks of emails and phone calls, I am no closer to a resolution that doesn't involve me paying another $1000 for more pieces to replace the broken tiles received. Today the trade rep implied that I may be responsible for the fractures--- even though he has photos and video of the tiles still in their individual packets with the breaks highlighted. There are many purveyors of tile, and Tilebar had a promising business model (with a user friendly website and free samples), but the customer experience and product packaging is severely lacking, and negate any positive first impressions. Before I start, I would never recommend you to buy tile from this company. I have never in my life experience, such unprofessional customer service from a company. I placed an order of tile on December 9, 2024. based on a sample that my customer had ordered from them upon receiving the sample, my customer liked the color of the sample so we proceeded to order the tile based on the color and sample provided to us. After it Arrived to the customers house we noticed that it was the incorrect color from the sample that we had received from them upon noticing that it was the incorrect color. I proceeded to reach out to customer service and state issue. After several days of back-and-forth speaking with them They told me that it was not their fault that it was the warehouse fault. it is going to be about a month now that I have been trying to get the correct tile from this company and every time I reach out to trying and get a hold of somebody to make the matter right or see what the current status of the order is I get a loop around and can never get an answer. They always say that they will call me back and never do note I live 10 hours away and I am so frustrated to the point where I am getting ready to make the drive to the company. I believe that if a company sent out the incorrect color, they should make it right and send out the correct color as soon as a customer reaches out to them Not make them wait several weeks for it to be made right. I would highly recommend you to just get your tile from a local store instead of ordering from here. Every time I try to reach a manager or the owner, they tell me that no one is available. As a designer, this is my first and usually only stop for bathroom and kitchen projects. The quality and style is always on point.

Do not order from them. The selection is no better than your local tile shop. Save yourself a world of headache and buy there. They invested in taking great pictures of the tiles so they look better on their website. We order tiles from tilebar expecting beautiful tiles. they were beautiful, but the experience is worse than a nightmare. Tiles arrived in disintegrated boxes on a pallet, a few were broken. For any returns, they only take full boxes (1 box had 29 tiles), charge a 15% restocking fee. Not only does the customer bear the full cost of the return shipping, but also has to figure out how to send the tiles to them - they do not help with shipping AT ALL. After packing, sending and paying for shipping, they lost 2 boxes of tiles and refused to refund the amount for them. The customer service rep spoke disrespectfully and arrogantly. The tiles aren't bad, but absolutely not worth the nightmare it is to deal with them. We went and got the rest of the tiles from our local floor&decor and even found better tiles. read more

I would recommend against using this company for your tile purchases. Purchased Terrazzo tile in January 2024 only to find severe scratches and scuff marks while installing. A call to the customer service rep revealed the company would not back the quality of their products claiming this may have been done during the unboxing / installation process. I found a tile that I loved: Castle Denim Blue 3x12 Polished Ceramic Subway Wall Tile. I do love the tile. However, they had to ship it 3 times. The first batch arrived with all seven boxes in bits. I had lined up the tiler and had to change everything. The customer service was horrible. They kept promising me I would only deal with a supervisor and they kept changing the supervisor. They never sent me the tracking numbers. Seriously, it is no surprise the tile broke since it was wrapped in something that was as thin as tissue paper. read more

I was hesitant to order after seeing some bad reviews, but since I loved the tiles and the sample was as promised, I decided to give them a chance. I am loving the new floor (photos attached are prior to reinstalling surbases & cabinet molding, so please ignore that part. As a 65 year-old woman I was wondering if I'd be able to complete this project professionally, but after a slow start I got the hang of getting these to lock nicely together. The only reason they are getting a two star is the variety of tiles. My tiles arrived and every box was either broken or smashed. After sending an email and calling the next day I was told they had 48 hrs to respond. When you only have a few nice days in CNY to run a wet saw, you only get so many chances. I then called being on hold for 42 minutes, I finally got ahold of someone and I needed to send more pictures and I did. The next day I called and was on hold for 32 minutes and I was told they would evaluate and call me back. They emailed me back and said they were sending them out via ltl which they should have in the first place, but I still have not received shipping notification. The packaging was awful and they should get with their packaging experts to avoid damage. We will see how many more come broken. read more
