I didn't have a great experience with Klein. My project was slated for 2 months, it took 10 to finish completely, and required a lot of managing up on my end. But they did beautiful work. The showroom is beautiful.The 1st consult was very encouraging in that this firm would create a beautiful bathroom. We paid $6,000 for their design team. The designer was completely inept.Suggested a 60" vanity but our space could only accommodate a 48".DUH!! All I can say for this company it was all about signing the contract!!!!! We had some issues with some Kitchen Cabinets that we originally purchased from Klein's Kitchen and Bath a good number of years ago. Adam, one of the owners, was very responsive to remedy the situation. After meeting with him my Wife decided that if we were going to replace some of the Cabinet Doors, we might as well update the entire Kitchen Doors at the same time. Due to supply chain issues we had to wait an unusually long time for the new Doors to finally arrive. Adam and his project manager Tim sent their TOP Crew to do the alterations. Exceptionally cautious with setting everything up and were meticulous with their Renovation and attention to detail. Even down to the final bumper dots that allow the doors and shelves not to touch wood on wood, were put on with total attention. With the project now complete in a very reasonable amount of time without sacrificing anything we now have a Brand New 2023 Kitchen that should remain perfect for many years to come. read more

This was my second project with Klein Kitchen. I did 2 bathrooms in 2019 and was so happy with the results that I decided to redo my kitchen using Klein Kitchen. Adam and the whole team were patient as we started the design of the project in January 2020, but due to Covid we paused until we could begin the renovation. When life returned to normal Adam and team were ready to begin. Abela designed a beautiful and functional kitchen for me. She was kind and patient as we worked on the design. She tweaked and guided the design process along the way and helped me make choices to create a modern and sleek kitchen. When it was finally time to begin the renovation I was happy to work with Tim and his crew again. The crew was always pleasant and professional and Tim always solved any issues we came across in my pre-war building - we even managed to have some laughs. We used this company for a full kitchen and bathroom remodeling. It was an awful experience. The office was unresponsive when we had questions and it took an exceedingly guy long time for the work to get done. Prices were exorbitant and the quality of materials was uneven. Kitchen cabinets and moldings started to wear down peel only a heat after installation and the company never returned our calls to inspect the cabinets. We would not recommend this company to anyone. My building is insanely strict and they handled their ridiculous requests with professionalism and grace, helping me work around them and get the best possible deal. Zeny was an absolute dream! She worked with me to create a beautiful design that is practical and stylish and held my hand throughout the design process with an editing and decisive eye. She's incredibly talented and hard-working and I can't say enough good things. We were very impressed with the showroom multiple verity of choices, the crew was very friendly and helpful and asked the right questions regarding our design sense. The estimate was fair and inline with other estimates I received, but what I didn't know was that the added work related expenses, nothing to do with me changing anything, would add up to around $15,000. Some of those additional costs I understood, others should have been included in the original estimate. PLUS there were a couple of unfair and ridiculous charges too. Watch out. Workers were painfully slow, would arrive late, leave early, and spend a lot of time taking cigarette breaks. Several parts of the job had to be done over too!! They were sloppy, using my new sink to clean their brushes and silicone hands causing my new sink to have a drainage issue. Past reviews did not indicate there would be any problems, but Klein must have gotten new work people since the last review was posted in 2014. And that makes a big difference. After all, the people you talk to are not the people that actually do the work. read more

My husband and I recently started looking for a kitchen designer to complete our kitchen design floor plan. We stumbled upon several designers but they all seemed to produce the exact same templates and designs. We wanted something different, a true Manhattan kitchen design. After several consultations from local companies, we decided to ask a neighbor about their recent project. We were referred to Adam and the Klein team and after visiting their uptown showroom (see images below), we were very impressed by what they had shown us. Their service and presentation was outstanding and Adam introduced us to several designers within the company that could assist us with our design retainer. The crowd was really nice and patient, (it takes time to decide when you looks at the beautiful showroom) very friendly! Klein did all possible work for us as well building approvals! We met with three contractors for our kitchen and bath renovation. Two smaller independent contractors, as well as Adam from Klein. Adam was polite, courteous, and had many ideas. But his quote for the labor was literally double what the other two offered. (On top of this, you'd go through Klein to purchase appliances, materials, etc. Yes, we could 'use' their discount. But we didn't think it made sense to get a 15% discount on a $5,500 oven/range - when we could look around a bit ourselves, and order one online for half the cost) I guess it comes down to how much you value your time and money. We did go with one of the independent contractors, who worked with us on visiting some showrooms, ordering some materials online, etc. Yes, we did a bit of legwork, but we estimate that we saved about $20,000. I will say, I was a bit disappointed that when I raised a very simple question about one part of the quote, I never got a reply. read more

Klein Kitchen and Bath just completed the gut renovation of our kitchen. The project started in July and was completed the middle of September. Having had our 3 bathrooms renovated by another local contractor/designer (who took a year to complete all three!), it was a real pleasure to work with a consistently professional and courteous staff that finished the job approximately when they said they would. Klein was also very responsive when it came to understanding my concept of an ideal kitchen (within my budget) , listening to my concerns throughout the project and completing the punch list on a timely basis. We then contracted them to replace the doors, skim and paint the living room and dining area and even rug cleaning and renewal. Even in those areas, Klein provided a quality solution at the right price. One area of imrpovement would be to keep the client better apprised of deliveries and the workmen's schedules, especially if there is a slow down becuase they are down a workman. These were minor issues compared to the previous bathroom contractor that was difficult to get hold of and took a year to complete the bathrooms. We are certainly not the biggest job that they have ever done but they made me feel that I had their undivided attention. I will definitely use them again for built ins for my bedrooms and den. I am happy to recommend them to anyone that wants to renovate their apartment. read more

So now I'm strongly considering hiring his company to do our gut renovation because of my initial perception that his reputation far exceeded those of his competitors and because of the very positive (and comprehensively detailed) descriptions of his work by so many Yelp reviewers. We initially thought we chose a great place to handle our complete kitchen renovation. We loved the design and were excited for the kitchen cabinets, counters, etc to be ordered and delivered. However, our order ended up being delayed by several MONTHS! We were never given a straight answer as to what the mix-up was. One day we were told that our cabinets were arriving the next day, and then that day, we were told there was a miscommunication, and it was unclear when the cabinets were actually arriving. It turns out, we didn't get them for another couple of months. In other words, I don't think our order had even been placed yet! I finally got in touch with the cabinet company (this was another headache, since they apparently don't typically deal directly with customers), and they were telling us one thing, and Klein was telling us another thing. I don't know who was telling the truth. We kept trying to follow up with Klein, since no one was giving us a straight answer, and it was like pulling teeth - no one would return our calls. They wouldn't even get back in touch with our contractor, who also kept putting in calls for us. They offered very little in terms of compensation, and weren't even able to expedite our order, or move it to the top of the queue. I spoke with Adam many times throughout this process. He never took responsibility for any of what happened, and kept making excuses for it. We had paid up front. That was stupid in hindsight. NEVER do that! It turns out we had overpaid and were owed about $3000 back. It took months of hounding them to get them to reimburse us that money. I would never give them my business again, and would never recommend their services to anyone. read more
