Just finished a full gut rehab in a luxury building in Manhattan. Amos and the Brener team delivered a phenomenal result. Amos was easy to collaborate with, his various crews always showed up on time did meticulous work with great attention to detail. I appreciated the efforts they made to keep things neat and organized during construction. The project included two full baths, two bedrooms a large kitchen and everything in between. Each part of the job, flooring, painting, electrical, tile work was done to exacting standards. I found Amos super easy to work with, always responsive and available. Lois in the office was also incredibly helpful and instrumental in providing support throughout the project. I highly recommend Brener Construction. read more

We have an 865 sq ft.1 BR condo on the upper west side of Manhattan. No significant improvements had been made since its construction, and it needed complete kitchen and bathroom renovations. I interviewed 3 in-person contractors to go over the project, discuss ideas, cost and time to completion. I settled on Brener Construction, and it was the right choice. Amos Guetta, the owner, was quick to respond through his office manager Lois, and I only had to wait a few days for us to meet. He was on time, professional, courteous and pleasant. He listened to my ideas, offered some suggestions of his own and was willing to consider changes that would pose challenges. In a few days I had the proposal emailed; the project was broken up into phases with inclusions and exclusions clearly stated. As often happens with any renovation project, it grew. In addition to a totally new kitchen and bathroom, new closets were built, crown molding and recessed lighting were placed throughout the condo, additional wall sockets were wired, ceiling fans and a split A/C system were installed, and floors were sanded. Some partition walls and a drop ceiling were removed, opening the rooms and allowing them to breath. Amos started the project and demolition on time and would send daily photos through a group WhatsApp account created along with his office manager, Lois. It gave me the ability to follow progress and communicate back and forth. It was also easy to speak with Amos and Lois over the phone when necessary. Having Lois on the thread was an advantage since she could follow up on orders, delivery dates and troubleshoot any problems along the way. She provided the back-office support essential to any business. Living in Philadelphia and at times being out of the country, posed no problems with our communication. I made it a priority to always try to answer immediately whenever Amos or Lois would send a message or had a question. I figured a delay on my part could result in double delay on their part if they had to wait for me to respond. I had a chance to meet the electrician Orlando, and many of his workers; all professional who shared Amos' desire for attention to detail and clearly took pride in their work. Many of his workers have been with Brener for years which bodes well for the company. Amos followed all electrical and plumbing city codes, offered reasonable troubleshoot suggestions whenever problems or surprises arose (sure to happen) and always in a calm and pleasant manner. He abided by all condo rules and regulations and there was never any friction between him and management. After weeks of working closely with Amos, I consider him a friend and would have no reservations in recommending Brener Construction for any small or large project. In short, if you are looking for a contractor, look no further and have the confidence that choosing Brener Construction and Amos Guetta is the right choice. He may not be the cheapest, but the work will be done right and done right the first time. In Spanish there is a saying, "lo barato sale caro" - that which is cheap, will turn out to be expensive. read more

Working with Brener Construction was a very professional and pleasant experience. They are fair and honest, they are easy to work with, the quality of their work is superb, and they stand behind their work. I recently purchased my first apartment, but before moving in, I wanted to completely renovate it before calling it "home." I was looking to completely redo the kitchen and bathroom, create a kitchen pass through window, replace the floors and baseboards, scrape the popcorn ceilings, reconfigure a few walls and doors, replace two large windows, add dozens of electrical outlets, and lots of other things. Nothing was left untouched. This was my first renovation, and it was a major one. Before approaching Brener, I spoke to multiple other contractors, but was unsatisfied for various reasons. So, I searched for yet another contractor who would just give it to me straight. This time I heeded the building's recommendation to talk to Brener Construction, as they came highly recommended by many of the building's residents. You can now add me to that list! I was transparent with Brener that I was already speaking to other contractors, but despite this, Brener was polite and respectful to me, said they appreciated me telling them, and that they wanted to earn my business. I strongly appreciated this in kind, which itself gave me confidence in Brener. Brener clearly understood that I didn't want to waste their time any more than I wanted to waste my own. I worked principally with Gal Attia, the brother-in-law and right-hand person of Amos Guetta, CEO of Brener Construction. After an initial consultation, the first thing they did was create a WhatsApp group chat and explained that they would use it to send me daily photos of the progress once construction began, which I immediately appreciated. It indeed made communication and feedback easy and convenient during the whole process. The next thing they did was show me work they had recently completed in other apartments in the building. I was immediately impressed with the quality of their work and attention to detail. They helped guide me, and upon understanding my intent, they often made suggestions of their own, which I often took after listening to their reasoning. Since I chose to forego the costs of using an architect and project manager, this was strongly appreciated. We worked out exactly what was to be done, got it all in writing in the form of a contract and quote, had a back-and-forth exchange until we were both satisfied and comfortable signing it. Signing it was a big moment: Game time! After obtaining the required permits and coop board approval, construction immediately began. Progress was swift. One of the reasons I chose to use Brener is they told me right up front that they intend to deliver something that is high quality that I'd be happy with. Any time they made an error during the construction, they would happily correct it at no cost to me, so long has it had been clearly indicated beforehand, of course. (I happily covered the cost of changes/errors/omissions on my part. These are inevitable, so bear this in mind.) I was diligent to check the progress in person after work each day so that I could provide timely feedback before any mistakes became unreasonably expensive to correct. Brener returned numerous times after construction was complete to address both major and minor omissions, details, and issues. Nothing was too small of a detail. If I wasn't satisfied, then neither were they, exactly as promised. They stand behind their work and completely honor their warranty. At the end of the day, Brener Construction made me a very happy and satisfied customer. It is my great pleasure to wholeheartedly recommend them without reservation for your next construction project. You'll be glad you did. Also, I took the time to put together before and after photos. Check them out! The results should speak for themselves. Our new kitchen and bathroom are stunning! (Did you know that after completing our apartment, Brener Construction was the featured contractor behind the new Bravo TV show "Get a Room" with Carson Kressley and Thom Filicia? Check it out! It's hilarious and fun to watch, and will definitely provide ideas for your construction project! I get excited when I see the Brener guys working their magic in the background! Amos is "Famous Amos" now, haha!) Materials used: Home Depot kitchen and bar cabinets, Cancos Tile NYC "Waterjet Leaf Thassos/Shell" backsplash tile, Porcelanosa bathroom fixtures and wall/floor tile, Compac "Unique Calacatta" quartz countertop, PID Floors 5" natural maple hardwood flooring, JBF Installations double-hung triple-pane windows, Container Store adjustable closets, and Philips Hue lightstrips. read more

We have been so pleased with our experience working with Brener Construction on the replacement of a roof deck on our rental apartment. Besides doing a wonderful job, they were patient when the board approval process was lengthy and helpful when it required communicating with a handful of different people. Our tenants were very happy at how responsible and clean they were. And as we were not available to be onsite Amos updated us frequently with pictures and details and was always easy to reach if we had questions. Great job and good people! The job was estimated in two days and it was completed in two days. The apartment was left cleaner then when they came. Highly recommend!

I shopped around for a contractor for a few months. After a frustrating search, I was pleased when Gal from Brener called me back immediately, came over, discussed the job (not small), earned my trust and then delivered. Gal and Amos are professionals. They are knowledgeable, efficient, respectful, call you back and their work is impeccable. I was not an easy client - I was hard to get started, but they set me up with a designer they often work with, Carrie Drosnes, and the whole team produced a really beautiful apartment, in record time. I still marvel at the quality of their subcontractors - from the gentleman who hung our intricate nursery wall paper literally seamlessly, to the tile guy who made sure everything was perfectly, perfectly (!) symmetrical, to their electrician who understood exactly what I was looking for and found a way to make it happen, and the carpenter who built the built-ins - we are really thrilled with the outcome. They have a great reputation for a reason. I'd recommend them to anyone. read more

My wife and I hired Brener Construction to help us renovate our bathroom and build a nursery into our apartment. We hired them initially due to their strong communication and high level of professionalism. The level of service never fell off from working with us closely to gaining approval from my building's cooperative board to aiding us in purchasing fixtures for the bathroom. Their expertise and vision was very useful when conversing about the design and layout of the apartment as we built in the additional bedroom. Amos and Gal were very hands on which I appreciated very much and kept to their word throughout the duration of the work. With the help of their team, my wife and I couldn't be happier with the final outcome of the project. They displayed a heightened attention to detail while always maintaining an upbeat and positive attitude. It was a pleasure working with them and highly recommend them for any future jobs. read more
