I ordered tile for our bathroom floor based on the sample tile we received. Being marble, I understood and welcomed the natural variation in the tiles. However, what I was not expecting was the marble background color to be orange and pink rather than the warm white of the sample. After some back and forth with customer service they told me the tile was from a different dye lot. 5 of the boxes were pink/orange color and one was white color. So even if I decided to go ahead and the wrong color tile I couldn't because my order was from 2 different dye lots (but considered the same tile). The company is still charging me $150 in shipping on a $750 order. Do NOT use them! read more

The only reason they are getting a two star is the variety of tiles. My tiles arrived and every box was either broken or smashed. After sending an email and calling the next day I was told they had 48 hrs to respond. When you only have a few nice days in CNY to run a wet saw, you only get so many chances. I then called being on hold for 42 minutes, I finally got ahold of someone and I needed to send more pictures and I did. The next day I called and was on hold for 32 minutes and I was told they would evaluate and call me back. They emailed me back and said they were sending them out via ltl which they should have in the first place, but I still have not received shipping notification. The packaging was awful and they should get with their packaging experts to avoid damage. We will see how many more come broken. read more

Be warned. Do not order from this company if you need tile in any timeframe. Placed an order on July 5 was told I'd have between 11th and 15th. Called to make sure they were coming, told they ship out on 10th. Then told they'd ship out on 11th. Then the 12th. Checked today, the 15th, told they shipped but when I contacted FedEx was told a label was created but FedEx confirmed tiles not picked up. Called back customer service checked the order, it said it was shipping between 18-24. Shipping 2-3 weeks AFTER ordered seems fishy to me. This company won't be around long at this rate. I am beyond frustrated - I ordered $3,000 worth of tiles for a house that I am renovating, the tiles finally came today, more than half of them were broken and with chipped edges. Amongst the broken ones was Fordham Nero, it was backordered when I placed the order in late February, so that I can receive them in early April for my contractors when they get to the bathroom and kitchen. Now that most tiles are broken, it is delaying my renovation project and I am stuck with hundreds of pounds of broken tiles that I have no idea how to get rid of. The sales experience with Tilebar was great, I worked with Michelle at the NYC store who was great. But Tilebar, since you guys outsource your shipping, please do a better job working with the shipping company to make sure the tiles get delivered in one piece. SCAM COMPANY!!! 50% BROKEN TILES!!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! WILL NOT REFUND!!! First of all, Tiles being delivered by UPS is a horrible business model. My first large order of 7 boxes had 50% breakage. I then ordered 3 additional boxes with a promised 3-5 day turnaround. No show after 2 weeks. UPS lost the shipment. I sent Tilebar the UPS correspondence that the shipment was lost. No response. I then ordered an expedited box for $160 which was suppose to be next day delivery. It was next week delivery. They then sent 2 separate deliveries with 1 box each. I never ordered 2 boxes. I then emailed to get a refund for the 3 BOXES plus the $160 Expedited Delivery charge and they REFUSE to reimburse. They said only the 1 BOX could be sent back and refunded?!? AVOID this place unless you are ok with Contractor delays, Broken Tiles, Horrible customer service, and no refunds. read more

This is the second time I go to this store in person. First for my bathroom tiles and now for my kitchen. Only to be reminded how bad their customer service is. The store doesn't have anything special that you can't find somewhere else. They really don't care about anything you ask. They pretend at first that they will help you but they leave you hanging there in less than a couple of minutes. They have an attitude and make you feel like you are not worth their time. Please do not buy a vanity from Tilebar. My decorator (who is a trade client) purchased a Kora vanity for a bathroom project. First of all it is terrible quality and absolutely not worth the price tag. Second, there was constant trouble with the order. The sent the wrong vanity and when they sent the replacement, the replacement was broken. The cover for the overflow is pictured on the website in brushed gold/bronze, with the same color faucet but BOTH orders came with a chrome overflow and they didn't seem to have any way to change it. We're in the final stages of building a new home. The selection from TileBar was the best I have seen, and believe me, I've seen a LOT. I found tile for two showers that I loved. I ordered the tile for one of them before I looked at these reviews! When I read them, I was terrified! I was ready to cancel my order when I talked to my nephew, who told me that they bought tile at TileBar and it was perfect for what they wanted. I decided to take a chance. UPS delivered the boxes and from what I understand, when he opened the door to the truck two boxes fell out and hit the ground so yes, we had damage but not the fault of TileBar. The other boxes were packed well and had no damage. I called TileBar and told them. The next day I got a call from UPS, who said they'd take care of it. Three days later we received two boxes of tile to replace the damaged ones. TileBar was so easy to deal with, friendly and professional. BE CAREFUL!!! We ordered a bunch of tile for our COVID kitchen project. Several of the boxes had the bottom 2 layers smashed. After the project was finished we sent the extra UNOPENED box back for a refund. We had to cover the cost of shipping the tile back which costs almost as much as the box of tile only to find that our refund was denied because the bottom layer was broken just like all of the other boxes that we were sent.... ps they still keep that box and don't send it back to you. TileBar is ok to use as long as you don't plan on having extra material left at the end of the job which never happens. I ordered several samples and for one, they waited a while to ship them (fine, it's a pandemic, get it) but for two, they didn't send all of the tiles I ordered, didn't tell me some would be missing due to being out of stock, and charged me for all of the ones I ordered! Of course the ones missing are my top choices!! A tip - If you know you aren't going to send some of the samples...tell the customer, and don't charge them for it. Received 19 broken tiles (accounting for more than half of my overage), and am still missing metal trim pieces that I ordered at the same time. I've been trying to get a resolution since 1/29/22, and it is now 2/11/2022. TileBar is mostly unresponsive, and I have tried to contact them both via email and through Twitter messaging. They are blaming UPS, and told me if UPS denies their claim for the missing package and damaged contents, that I simply do not get refunded or get replacement products, and they keep my money. Do not do business with TileBar. I also only received THREE tracking numbers, but received three total boxes, which means there was never a tracking number for the metal trim, which would have required a much larger box than the tiles. I was told it takes them 5 days to hear back from UPS, and it is well beyond that time period. read more

Tiles in unmarked box, only show size 150 x 300 mm, shade C9SM. Nice tiles but whoever came up with the idea of plastic sheet glued over the face of tile that is difficult to remove must have been drunk. I'm tiling for 55 years and never seen such a stupid idea. How do you remove that stuff? Would a sheet of paper be enough? The tile is a good quality that doesn't scratch. Why such a overprotection and waste of time on labour? Beware!!! I'm so disappointed. I thought the showroom was nice, a great assortment of tile and good pricing but too many issues with my order. A tile was left off the order which delayed the contractor. When it was delivered it was incorrect. Try contacting the sales person or anyone at the store, it's impossible. Needless to say, it was too long before the correct tile arrived. Then when I had extra tile once the project was completed, I was told it couldn't be returned to the store. So this is how returns work, you need to somehow find someone to talk to, to get paperwork (RMA) emailed (which I never received) then ship the return to their South New Jersey warehouse at your expense (or take it there yourself). Also, there's a 15% restocking fee. I can't even imagine what the weight/cost would be to ship 4 boxes of tile. Probably as much as the value or more. Why can't a customer return to the store, aka..."showroom"? Why would I continue to shop at TileBar or recommend it to anyone. I guess this is how Private Equity companies operate. Very disappointed. Frustrating. Time consuming to resolve (customer service will only support via emails). Putting my project back several weeks. Issue still not resolved. I ordered 5 different items for a project. 2 of the 5 line items received were incorrect (different finish/colors than ordered). Replacement tile for 1 of the items was supposed to arrive on a pallet. The pallet arrived but the replacement tile was not on it. What in the literal F?! New complaint via email needed to be generated to resolve this with for the 2nd attempt. I gave up on this one and just picked up an alternative locally. Waiting on a refund from Tile Bar. Another part of the original order was incorrect (wrong color), but the installer was unaware and installed. Had to file new complaint via email to resolve the issue. Still waiting on response. Buy locally folks. This has been a nightmare experience...never again. FYI: My wife works with Tile Bar's commercial rep out in Los Angeles. They're unable to help with problems on the residential side of the business (not their fault), but highly unlikely she will be recommending any materials from Tile Bar for her commercial clients and projects. read more

This company is horrendous! I placed two orders with a guaranteed second day delivery. The first shipment did arrive on time but the edging we ordered in the delivery was bent. The second shipment is now 5 days past the guaranteed two day shipping window and they literally could not offer us anything. The supervisor was completely unhelpful and basically said they did their part and its on UPS even though they literally up-charge you for this "guaranteed 2 delivery". They do not stand by their word, offer terrible customer service, and are downright unhelpful. Absolutely terrible! I have made 2 sample orders, which they claim did not ship out due to some being backordered. It did not say BO when I placed the order, more did they contact me to let me know. So upon finally just sending the order without the BO sample, I never got it, even though they said it would come by a certain day. It's now been over 2 weeks and I still do not have the first order. The second order should have been processed by yesterday but it still says "processing," even though when I called, they assured me they would expedite last night. Don't waste your time and money on them. They do not care about customer service. I even tried chatting online via facebook, but the person just stopped responding once they told me again, another one of my sample order tiles was out of stock. I told them it was unprofessional to claim 1-3 days processing and quick shipping, and not even inform customers that something will be later or is BO or OOS. I have 3 houses to tile, but I guess they don't want more business. If TileBar would just communicate to say that sample isn't available, would you like to choose a different one, I would not be so disappointed. read more

Very bad experience so far. Had a great ordering experience - the person on the phone was helpful and I ordered $1700 worth of tile. When it was delivered, four entire boxes were completely shattered (castle denim) in addition to 14 bullnose tiles. It's one thing for a few tiles to be broken, but another thing for entire boxes to be shattered, delaying my project by weeks. I took a photo, and wrote them immediately at info@. I didn't hear anything for 4 days, until I called. The person on the phone told me to write a different alias, help@. They finally emailed back and asked me to send more photos. Called Paypal and was told the merchant (Tilebar) doesn't accept it and that their website is misleading. After speaking to a manager at Tilebar, the ONLY option I had was to RETURN the material, wait for it to process, and order again over the phone so that I'd truly have the Pay in 4 option. I don't know where the discrepancy is between Tilebar and Paypal, but I am stuck dealing with the issue between two companies - first time shopping and hopefully the last. read more

But when my contractor and I opened the boxes every third tile was broken. I called customer service. After 20 minutes it was my turn. I was first told to " count the pieces" . I ordered tile online. First, the let you order the tile without telling you it is out of stock on the website. Then they send you an email, after paying for it, telling you it is out of stock with no ETA. When I called, they were able to help more with the ETA though so I forgave that (except for the wasted time I had for having to chase this down). The reason for the poor rating is their return policy. I was able to find the tile elsewhere with someone who delivered faster. I let the company know i no longer wanted the tile and they quoted me the return shipping fees + the restocking fee. I agreed to the return. (Side note - now I know better and there is NO reason to have to pay a return fee unless it is very unique tile. Go to a big box company that carries it.) After I agreed to the shipping fee, they came back and told me that it would actually be more than 2.5x what they quoted me! So in short I paid $215 dollars to have to interact with poor customer service! read more

This lovely marble tile was delivered promptly but sadly we opened the boxes to find that 75% of the panels of tile had chips or cracks. The shipping boxes were labeled "fragile" but did not have enough padding to protect the product. We tried to cut out the damaged pieces and rearrange but this tile is heavy with an intricate pattern, and we found this process quite challenging. Despite ordering 15% overage, we didn't have enough intact (piecemealed) tile panels to complete the job. When I reached out to tile bar about the situation, they only offered at 30% discount if we were to order more (likely to be damaged) tiles. We ended up switching gears and going with a completely different tile from a local distributor. We lost a LOT of time and money in the process. Tilebar was an absolute nightmare for us. Customer service doesn't know what they're talking about when they try to resolve your issues and they have no coordination with their customers and delivery teams. Our tilebar order of about 2000+ pounds worth of tile showed up in a mini-van. They asked where our forklift was, despite being in a residential house. We were then told we would have to manually take the tile - piece by piece - into the home. Almost every piece was ruined from scratches at the end of it. Their customer service team was worthless in trying to get this resolved. It's like they're reading from a 1 size fits all script and don't have the option to adjust their solutions whatsoever.
