So difficult finding Totos to test out in person, but Galactic Tiles had a whole row of Totos for you to inspect and sit on. This is often overlooked, but it's important to sit on the toilet first to see if it feels comfortable/suits you. I ended up getting the Toto aquia IV one-piece toilet because it was the most comfortable and seemed the easiest to clean. The only thing is the depth of the bowl is rather shallow, which I didn't think would be a problem but sort of is. Making the purchase was rather seamless, and there were a lot of workers available. None hovered over us, which I appreciated. read more

Galactic Tiles exceeded my expectations! My kitchen countertop and backsplash were installed with both care to detail and efficiency. Also, I had a problem with some shims that protruded a bit too much, and the crew took care of the problem as though they had a magic wand. Its not easy to find such good people in NYC. read more

I am so happy I stumbled upon Galactic Tiles for my kitchen and bathroom renovation! I worked with Yan who was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They have a nice showroom with a good selection of tiles and countertops at various price points. They also have kitchen cabinets and some hardware. I wish I had found them earlier, because it would have been a one stop shop for my renovation. It was hard to settle on a countertop based on a sample, so Yan arranged for me to go take a look at the actual slab options at a nearby stone distributor warehouse, which was really helpful. I highly recommend their services and would absolutely work with them again! read more

Very disappointing experience. Countertop was not installed level and Galactic's idea of "fixing it" was to jimmy some shims underneath and leave us with a half-inch of gaping space between the counter and the cabinet. This was a countertop replacement in our existing kitchen, not a new build or a renovation. The existing cabinet was not level, but instead of bringing this to our attention during templating, Galactic plopped the new countertop on it and considered their job done. But we quickly discovered it was so tilted that water pooled in the bottom of the sink. They came back to fix it but said since they don't do cabinets, the best they could do was suspend the new countertop on four narrow shims to level it off. The pictures show how they wanted to leave it, with a huge half-inch gap of open space underneath. When we complained that they could not leave the counter essentially floating on some shims, they reiterated that cabinets aren't their job. Which is fine. But securely installing a useable, level countertop IS their job, and they hadn't done that. If leveling isn't something they're willing to do, they shouldn't take jobs for countertop replacements. Or, bring the uneven cabinet to the customer's attention BEFORE you install the counter, so the customer can hire someone to level the cabinet. But don't install an uneven counter and say you've done a good job. We had to push and insist to get the repairers to fill in the gaping space with extra shims and silicone, so that the counter wouldn't be left afloat. It still looks like garbage, and my husband and I will have to buy a piece of cabinet filler to cover it up. But at least it's now sturdy and level. In addition to all this, our other counter was installed with a nick and the sink counter was made 1/4" too wide, creating a weird overlap with our existing backsplash. They also cut the undermount sink with a negative reveal, even though we wanted zero reveal. The negative reveal makes the sink grid hard to insert and remove. Galactic also has a very confusing system for stocking stone which clearly makes perfect sense to them, but which we found very hard to understand as a customer. These were all parts of the experience we were willing to overlook and live with, especially considering they had been accommodating to our need for a fast turnaround and were reasonably priced. But after the poor installation and the even worse experience getting it corrected, I would definitely never recommend Galactic and never return. read more

What a great team to work with. Galactic tiles is more than just, well tiles. They are a full service company that can assist with everything from cabinet design, to vanities, to hardware. They designed our kitchen cabinets and countertops for us, and we couldn't be happier. Instead of going to a big box store, and hoping that what they had would fit, they took the measurements of our space, and designed everything so it would fit exactly as it should. This is what anyone who is doing a renovation should want, and a huge reason why you should shop local instead of going to one of those big box stores. We got something that cost what we would have spent at home depot, but made of better quality materials that was tailored to our specific job. We also did our bathroom tiles, both floor and shower with them, and we are so so happy with how everything came out. During all of these installs, we needed all the hardware you could think of, from kitchen pulls to bathroom towel bars and hooks. GT for the win here as well. They were able to give us ideas of what would fit with the theme of our house and then order it for us at a reasonable price and quickly. Huge shout out to Tommy and Yan for all of their help, when its time for our next project we know exactly who to reach out to. If you need anything for a renovation or upgrade, make sure to shop local and stop by GT read more

I had the pleasure to work with Rosario at Galactic Tiles. She was able to assist me and design what was best for my kitchen and bathroom styles. Extremely helpful and patience with the indecisiveness between my husband and I. And when Rosario was busy, the other team members was able to lend a helping hand. I'm so happy to have been able to work with Galactic Tiles and will be definitely coming back for other renovations in the near future. read more

We visited several tile places in the NY area for a bathroom renovation project and Galactic stood out for their Excellent showroom and very helpful staff who is extremely courteous and customer oriented. Most notably, after one of their contractors did not perform a job to spec, they immediately sought to remedy the situation by hiring another contractor who did an excellent job. Overall, we were very pleased with their products and level of customer service. read more

I am so happy I found them! I worked with Galactic Tiles on my recent bathroom renovation. I came into the showroom with an idea of the tiles I wanted, and they helped me choose from their large selection. While doing the construction, we realized we needed more tiles and tile trim and they were so helpful. On 3 separate occasions, I was able to head to their warehouse conveniently located right next to the showroom and pick up materials same day. The contractors kept remarking on how great the quality of the tiles were and they truly look pristine. They were a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend their services for anyone in the Brooklyn area looking to buy tiles from honest, helpful people. read more

I was creating two bathrooms out of one bathroom so went looking for tiles for the floor and shower walls as well as a vanity. I had thought about going into Manhattan but during my research - looking at multiple bathrooms of neighbors and friends - I heard about Galactic Tiles. I am could not be more pleased with the results of the materials I purchased from them. As others have said, they are patient and give good advice without being pushy. For example, when I was obsessing over grout for the floor tiles- Rosario obsessed with me! All the staff that I was in contact with were helpful. A true sign of good experience is recommending them to friends; I have already done that. read more

Came here for an estimate for a countertop and I should've left as soon as they said you still had to wear a mask. I walked into Galactic Tiles needing a couple hundred square feet of tile for a bathroom renovation, operating under a deadline of about 36 hours. Dennis was incredibly helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. He walked me through the different options within the style that I liked, and worked to get me everything on time. Delivery was on time, with no issues, and the tile looks beautiful. Would recommend Galactic Tiles without hesitation and will certainly use them again in the future for any project. read more

I worked with Dennis at Galactic Tiles on my bathroom reno and had a great experience. The store had a bigger and higher-end selection than other tile shops in south Brooklyn. Dennis helped me figure out options and quantities and was an excellent communicator. Delivery was professional and on-time. Definitely better to work with a store and a professional rather than going online, as there are lots of details only an in-person visit can accomplish. Highly recommended. C read more

Updating the home can be very time consuming and stressful. Dealing with contractors and working with a specific budget to fit a tight time frame. Getting it right the first time was of utmost importance to me and my experience with Galatic Tiles was SEAMLESS.The materials were ordered and delivered as promised. The store can get quite busy but the rep Dennis I was working with was patient and thorough. He answered all my questions and concerns, even followed up after the delivery to give me some pointers on house keeping products. The showroom is quite large and have very good selection of bathroom vanities and tiles. I gut renovated my bathrooms and they are looking fabulous. They also have the best brands like Hansgrohe, Toto and Porcelenosa. I'll be back to shop when I need kitchen done. read more

I can't say enough good things about Andy at Galactic Tile. I bought a ton of tile here during a major home renovation. Andy went above and beyond for me. I wanted some custom tile, he worked that out no problem -- he also helped me track down a particular silicone grout that was hard to get. He was so professional and pleasant to work with. The showroom is clean, organized and varied, and if they don't have what you are looking for they can probably order it (he ordered a few samples for me). I highly recommend this business! read more

This store is a wonderful resource for anyone embarking on a renovation. I had the good fortune of being assisted by a terrific salesperson named "Yen." Yen is very knowledgeable and eager to assist her customers. Along with the rest of the staff at Galactic Tiles, Yen advised me as to which tiles would work best on the walls vs. which would work best for the floors. This is very important because I would not have known the difference. The staff at Galactic Tiles are very genuine. They aim to please, and as a result I am delighted with the outcome of my renovation. I could not have asked for better customer care. It makes all the difference. I would also like to mention that the quality of their tiles, as well as the assortment, is outstanding! And, the price is right!! read more

Nice shopping experience resulted in receiving tiles from their warehouse within 36 hours. Calm extremely professional environment in their showroom and felt COVID safe. The only downer (and not their fault) is that parking can be challenging (what's new...after all this is Bklyn). Overall better tiles than you'll find at HomeDepot or Lowe's at very competitive prices. Highly recommended! read more

Many renovations later and the service, selection, expedient turn-around is still the same, 6-years later --Exceptional. Dennis, Kevin, Rosa and the entire team really know how to provide service that far exceeds expectations. Their turn around on in-stock and special order products is incredible. They never fail to deliver with quality and professional. I've done projects in Red Hook Brooklyn to Bay Ridge. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my tile needs. Their countertops are precision too. If there were 10 stars this place would get it. --Unmatched price, quality and performance. read more

Came in from NJ as they were recommended by a Brooklyn friend and glad I did. They have a large assortment of vanities, tiles, mirrors and everything else for a bathroom renovation. Renovated two bathrooms and love everything I bought from Galactic Tiles, especially my BIDET!!....as well as received many compliments from the people doing the work and friends. Comments were on the quality of the materials and the "end result" look. I worked mostly with Dennis but also with Yan. Both were extremely helpful! It was a real pleasure working with them! I highly recommend Galactic Tiles, and most definitely Dennis and Yan. read more

Couldn't be happier with Galactic Tiles. Good selection, pleasant service - and Dennis (sales) really went the extra mile to make our experience a great one. Great selection of tiles and bathroom vanities. Worth checking out if you're doing a major bathroom renovation.

Hummmm... Went here based on great yelp reviews but was VERY disappointed. After asking for help - the guy behind the desk was completely reluctant to get up off his chair and talk to us. After a few curt non-answers to my questions he just walked back & sat back down. We looked briefly around and left got in our car & left. Ended up going to Classic tile & Marble 1635 86th St, Brooklyn, NY 11214 - WAY better customer service & great selection- I'd recommend you skip galactic & go to classic. Ended up buying tile for kitchen & our front entry way from classic. read more

Upon renovating my house, I was recommended to go to this tile place in 3rd ave called galactic tiles and was told it couldn't be missed because it was across the street from Costco. I had searched many places to have all the tiling i needed from bathroom walls, flooring, countertops, outside foyer to kitchen cabinets and fortunately for us we found all of this right in Galactic tiles. They have a really beautiful and varied selection which my wife and i was immediately impressed and the knowledge the staff had was excellent and super friendly. They all seem to know what they were talking about unlike the huge super stores like Home Depot or Lowes where they hardly know anything they are selling. It was even more helpful, that they follow up with trends and see what your style leans towards to give me advice and recommendation. We actually followed all their suggestions and got a great price for all the stuff we bought! Our house is beautiful and received uncountable amount of compliments with the choices and materials used. Would definitely recommend to at least check them out and meet the staff. read more

Do NOT trust these guys to install countertops. I repeat, DO NOT trust these guys for countertops. I thought with them coming to my house to take measurements and making cutouts with plastic sheets before making the pieces that I would be getting accuracy but I was wrong. Instead I got 4 pieces with overhangs that were all different from each other. I also didn't think I had to look over their shoulders while installing the pieces, but apparently I had to because they installed one of the pieces with a gap to the wall. After much back and forth, and no ownership of the mistake, I was able to get them to come back and replace the piece with the gap because clearly the piece was not made to size. Even after that I still ended up with 4 pieces with different overhands from each other. It was amateur hour with these guys. Zero quality control and ZERO accountability for their mistakes. They wouldn't take any blame for their mistake, not even a sorry. I would not recommend this company at all! read more

Price wise they seem ok (not great) and they have a large selection, the displays are nice. That's for the positive. The big problem is the customer service. Recommended by a friend. Galactic has a wide selection of modern, contemporary tiles. Pricing is average to high. We got our bathroom and kitchen tiles from here. Had some issues scheduling my delivery but overall a great experience. Will shop again for our next project. read more

Everyone at Galactic Tile is extremely helpful and customer-oriented. Tommy in particular is very knowledgeable and patient. He never pushes a product or idea, but always has suggestions when you are stumped. We purchased almost everything for our kitchen remodel with them, and now we are back for our bathroom remodel. Galactic Tiles was recommended to me by a friend. I'm so glad I went because right when I stepped in the customer service was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The place has a big selection of tiles and the showroom is nice and clean. These guys know their stuff! Mike helped me pick out tiles for my kitchen. He had great advice and suggestions for what I was trying to build. After I put the order through I realized I wasn't too sure of my measurements or my kitchen design so I wanted to come back. At this point most salesmen would be peeved but not the people at Galactic Tiles. They are super duper nice. Not once did I feel pressured to buy anything. Not once did they make me feel like I was wasting their time or asking stupid questions which I probably was. The experience with them was so good I decided to tile more of the walls than I initially planned. I called Mike back with the new measurements, he put the order through and I was tiling the next day! In short: Big selection of tiles, nice showroom, friendly & knowledgeable staff, best customer service! read more
