So difficult finding Totos to test out in person, but Galactic Tiles had a whole row of Totos for you to inspect and sit on. This is often overlooked, but it's important to sit on the toilet first to see if it feels comfortable/suits you. I ended up getting the Toto aquia IV one-piece toilet because it was the most comfortable and seemed the easiest to clean. The only thing is the depth of the bowl is rather shallow, which I didn't think would be a problem but sort of is. Making the purchase was rather seamless, and there were a lot of workers available. None hovered over us, which I appreciated. read more

I am so happy I stumbled upon Galactic Tiles for my kitchen and bathroom renovation! I worked with Yan who was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They have a nice showroom with a good selection of tiles and countertops at various price points. They also have kitchen cabinets and some hardware. I wish I had found them earlier, because it would have been a one stop shop for my renovation. It was hard to settle on a countertop based on a sample, so Yan arranged for me to go take a look at the actual slab options at a nearby stone distributor warehouse, which was really helpful. Very disappointing experience. Countertop was not installed level and Galactic's idea of "fixing it" was to jimmy some shims underneath and leave us with a half-inch of gaping space between the counter and the cabinet. This was a countertop replacement in our existing kitchen, not a new build or a renovation. The existing cabinet was not level, but instead of bringing this to our attention during templating, Galactic plopped the new countertop on it and considered their job done. But we quickly discovered it was so tilted that water pooled in the bottom of the sink. They came back to fix it but said since they don't do cabinets, the best they could do was suspend the new countertop on four narrow shims to level it off. The pictures show how they wanted to leave it, with a huge half-inch gap of open space underneath. When we complained that they could not leave the counter essentially floating on some shims, they reiterated that cabinets aren't their job. Which is fine. But securely installing a useable, level countertop IS their job, and they hadn't done that. If leveling isn't something they're willing to do, they shouldn't take jobs for countertop replacements. Or, bring the uneven cabinet to the customer's attention BEFORE you install the counter, so the customer can hire someone to level the cabinet. But don't install an uneven counter and say you've done a good job. We had to push and insist to get the repairers to fill in the gaping space with extra shims and silicone, so that the counter wouldn't be left afloat. It still looks like garbage, and my husband and I will have to buy a piece of cabinet filler to cover it up. But at least it's now sturdy and level. In addition to all this, our other counter was installed with a nick and the sink counter was made 1/4" too wide, creating a weird overlap with our existing backsplash. They also cut the undermount sink with a negative reveal, even though we wanted zero reveal. The negative reveal makes the sink grid hard to insert and remove. Galactic also has a very confusing system for stocking stone which clearly makes perfect sense to them, but which we found very hard to understand as a customer. These were all parts of the experience we were willing to overlook and live with, especially considering they had been accommodating to our need for a fast turnaround and were reasonably priced. But after the poor installation and the even worse experience getting it corrected, I would definitely never recommend Galactic and never return. read more

What a great team to work with. Galactic tiles is more than just, well tiles. They are a full service company that can assist with everything from cabinet design, to vanities, to hardware. They designed our kitchen cabinets and countertops for us, and we couldn't be happier. Instead of going to a big box store, and hoping that what they had would fit, they took the measurements of our space, and designed everything so it would fit exactly as it should. This is what anyone who is doing a renovation should want, and a huge reason why you should shop local instead of going to one of those big box stores. We got something that cost what we would have spent at home depot, but made of better quality materials that was tailored to our specific job. We also did our bathroom tiles, both floor and shower with them, and we are so so happy with how everything came out. During all of these installs, we needed all the hardware you could think of, from kitchen pulls to bathroom towel bars and hooks. GT for the win here as well. Upon renovating my house, I was recommended to go to this tile place in 3rd ave called galactic tiles and was told it couldn't be missed because it was across the street from Costco. I had searched many places to have all the tiling i needed from bathroom walls, flooring, countertops, outside foyer to kitchen cabinets and fortunately for us we found all of this right in Galactic tiles. They have a really beautiful and varied selection which my wife and i was immediately impressed and the knowledge the staff had was excellent and super friendly. They all seem to know what they were talking about unlike the huge super stores like Home Depot or Lowes where they hardly know anything they are selling. It was even more helpful, that they follow up with trends and see what your style leans towards to give me advice and recommendation. We actually followed all their suggestions and got a great price for all the stuff we bought! Do NOT trust these guys to install countertops. I repeat, DO NOT trust these guys for countertops. I thought with them coming to my house to take measurements and making cutouts with plastic sheets before making the pieces that I would be getting accuracy but I was wrong. Instead I got 4 pieces with overhangs that were all different from each other. I also didn't think I had to look over their shoulders while installing the pieces, but apparently I had to because they installed one of the pieces with a gap to the wall. After much back and forth, and no ownership of the mistake, I was able to get them to come back and replace the piece with the gap because clearly the piece was not made to size. Even after that I still ended up with 4 pieces with different overhands from each other. It was amateur hour with these guys. Zero quality control and ZERO accountability for their mistakes. They wouldn't take any blame for their mistake, not even a sorry. I would not recommend this company at all! read more
