Great tacos and shrimp burrito! Every time I need a meal on short notice, they're my go to.

Let's taco 'bout this place. See what I did there?? :D This place is great. 1- the food is effing fantastic and always fresh. 2- it's literally across the street from me (which is a good AND bad thing), 3- umm, what else do you need? The restaurant itself is tiny, although I've rarely seen it packed. Everyone tends to get it to go, as it keeps fresh from kitchen to home- well, depending on how far you are :P. Their marinated pork tacos are THE best. But so is the steak...and my roommates say that the spicy meat is to die for (I would legit die, as I can't do spice). Get "everything" on them. That includes cilantro & diced semi-sweet onions. If you don't like either of those things, what the heck? Are you even human?? Also, GUACAMOLE. Get it. They make it on the spot and it. Is. LEGIT. Anyways, the tacos are FANTASTIC, and I'm sure the other food is too...but I can't seem to pull myself away from their deliciousness and branch out just yet. Don't worry though. It's nacho problem. Ok. Everyone raving about the Al Pastor taco persuaded me to cheat on my usual taquerias and call up Tijuana. AND HOLY MOTHER OF GOD, it was the right choice. I still love you, Tortillaria Sinaola and Taqueria el sabor del parque, but there's stiff competition. Why? Because I can get big fat juicy amazing pork pineapple tacos delivered to my house, now. It's just gorgeous to call somewhere and order food and not have them bitch about making a delivery to the north side of Patterson Park, or flat refuse to. My delivery options are limited to barfy big box pizza or ghetto Chinese (with 2-3 exceptions I've yelped about previously). What showed up was amazingly fresh, well-seasoned, complex, and delicious authentic Mexican food 25 minutes after I called. The driver didn't have change but that's negligible. I also ordered a chorizo burrito and was happy to see cojito cheese and avocado slices inside. It was absolutely delicious. I absolutely love their Horchata. They give you a half gallon for $3 and they will leave the ice out if you request it. The service is usually prompt and friendly. The place is a bit of a dive but it is clearly homemade food and drink that smells and tastes delicious. It is close by, convenient, priced well, and delicious. read more

Wow! I'm glad I finally found this place. Totally walkable from home and just off Patterson park on the NE corner. Had the stuffed poblano and it was done just right. Batter was perfect. Red sauce coulda been a bit better but hey. The rice and beans were stacked with flavor. Shrimp tacos were most assuredly of the bangin' kind. Shrimp was big and they didn't skimp on the stuffins. Plenty of limes for the squeezin' and big chunks of avocado on the salad. This is quickly going to be to go-to place for good Mexican in my area. I love their food. I went to Mexico for a semester long study abroad and fell in love with REAL tacos and Mexican food and now really try to find the most authentic places that serve Mexican. This is that! I would not hesitate trying one of everything on their menu-- but I end up always getting the same thing: their tacos al pastor. Yum! Love. Their. Tacos. Although the interior and cooking space might not be the most impressive at least you know exactly where the food is coming from. They cook mostly on the grill top in the restaurant area and I just love their tacos. If you like rice, give their beans and rice a go. As a Los Angeles authentic Mexican food snob, I give 5 stars for their carne asada tacos and horchata! Their carne asada tacos are the best I've ever tasted here in Maryland. Enough said. I've tried a few of their other dishes, but I'll say I am a religious carne asada taco fan! Definitely try the horchata..it comes in a GINORMOUS plastic container and enough to last for a good while. The only down fall is the price. Not used to paying $10 for 3 tacos, compared to the prices in LA. But, in this town where authentic Mexican food is pretty much non-existent, totally worth it! Delicious authentic Mexican food, prices aren't cheap, but portions are really big. I have had the spicy beef burrito and the steak platter, both were delicious. Would be five stars if the price were cheaper, food quality is definitely five star Mexican as the ingredients are fresh and delicious. For example, my burrito today when I got near the end of it I turned it over and most places a pool of grease would drip out, here not a single drop. Grab a table inside (there are only a couple) and the waiter will bring you chips and fresh green salsa while you wait for your food. read more

Patterson Park Area, you have a hidden little gem! You'll walk by this place easily thinking its a closed down bar with it's Pepsi logo sign. Service is friendly. However, it was extremely crowded in there so we took our food to go. We ordered Al pasto tacos, chorizo tacos, grilled chicken chimichangas, and a grilled beef burrito. The fact that they have cactus there already makes them a go to place. I'm not sure what it is about east coast mexican food. But, it's hard to find places that have cactus. They, however, ran out of tamales and soupa. this is was extremely heartbreaking. I plan to go in there and reorder that. Plus, they have mexican soda and sangria (non alcoholic) which is always good. The place is decently priced. You get a ton of food. Burrito comes with rice and beans. They included sliced avocados, lettuce and relish with the chimichunga. The tacos received three containers of hot sauce (2 reds and a verde), lettuce, cucumbers, CACTUS!!!, and some various things. Credit where credit is due...although these aren't my favorite tacos, this joint still has a lot to offer. We have ordered from here several times (taco diet) and have branched out our orders to the nachos and the burritos. The nachos are a must-get. So good! They used a bit of the move theater style nacho cheese and we weren't even mad. The rest of the toppings were premium. The burrito sizes were on scale with Chipotle, or maybe a bit bigger. Lots of meat. On our last taco order they included cooked cactus with the usual veggie array of radishes and cucumber slices. It was a nice, adventurous touch. Hole-in-the-wall mexican place that seems authentic where the tacos and burritos are definitely pretty good. Takeout is best and they do deliver within 2 miles [I live 3 miles away!]. I reallllyyyy wanted to like this place. I had to call twice to put in a delivery order. The first time they put me on hold and just forgot about me. I hung up after waiting for 6 minutes. We were determined to eat Mexican food so we called again. We were finally able to place our order. At that point it would of been nice if they let us know that they were busy and that the kitchen was behind. We waited an hour and 10 minutes before finally calling to check on our food. They said it was on the way. The delivery driver must of been walking or crawling because 20 minutes later he showed up. I don't blame him for the delay though. The Food: The guacamole was watery and a weird texture. It was fresh enough tasting but different than what I wanted. The chips were homemade, but half were crispy and half were stale and soggy. The pico de gallo was fine. We ordered the carnitas and the carne asada tacos. The meat was not dry and pretty flavorful. The green sauce was nice, but the red sauce was gross. The tortillas were fresh. Overall, I wouldn't return here unless I really wanted Mexican food on a Sunday when the other place is closed or if there is a hurricane/tornado/apocalypse and you have to order from here. Otherwise, stick to tortilleria sinola. It's less expensive, fresh, and just as good. Oh and you can be eating in less than an hour and a half which is generally a good thing. Tried 3 tacos (tongue, cesina, al pastor) and the sincrozaida apppetizer with a coca-cola (with real sugar - no corn syrup!). The tongue and al pastor were great - the cesina nothing to brag about. The red salsa there is the perfect topping. Also, the sincrozaida is like a ham and cheese quesadilla topped with lettuce, tomato, sour cream. The highlight of the meal. This place has become our delivery food go-to. And though we rarely ever used to get delivery, now we seem to get it a whole lot more since we found this place. I never really get anything besides the mole chicken enchiladas because it's just that awesome. However I've tried the burritos and tacos when my ladyfriend ordered them and they are also really good. This place was down the street from my friends. Yes its a hole in the wall. You would drive right by it if you didnt know. But they serve some of the best authentic Mexican food I have had in a while. The service is pretty quick does take about twenty minutes for food to come but thats standard as per my friend. Ordered the nacho supreme vegetarian, veggie burrito and my friend had a chicken burrito. Ohh and ofcourse I had to have the tres leches. The nachos were on point added black beans and jalepenos. The veggie burrito was loaded with veggies wish it had more seasoning and wasnt soggy but it happens when you got so many orders to go. The red sauce was good and spicy so it helped. The fact that they have a veggie option and its not basic is good. Not sure where we dropped the ball but asked for fresh jalepenos in the burrito instead they gave me a whole jalepenos uncut on the side. So that threw me for a loop. So I'm writing this while still completely stuffed to the gills. My husband and I have driven past this place every day while parking since we live next door, but hadn't gone to check it out yet. Today I was Yelping for delivery options and noticed this was the place on the corner! With good reviews to boot! Very glad I stopped in, I ordered the chicken fajitas and my husband the chicken enchiladas. Each meal was 9.99 and came with rice and beans. I figured a fair price for a meal but then saw the cook packing them into the take out containers, the portions are huge; beyond 9.99 worth. I'm pregnant and can sure wolf down more than a normal adult male right now, and my husband can eat his fair share, but we both had to surrender 1/2 way through before we popped. The fajitas felt like they were missing just one extra "thing" to round them out, but very good nonetheless. The enchiladas were a huuuge hit, the mister liked them more than most he has tried and I wanted to finish off his dish I liked them that much more (Ill be getting the enchiladas next time for myself, for sure). After a long day of Pokemon hunting at Paterson Park, I had some serious cravings for tacos. I looked on yelped and came across this place. My boyfriend said it was amazing so my expectations were really high! The place wasn't the cleanest, but hey, that's how we find the best foods right? So as we walk in, I noticed that it looked very authentic. The al pastor definitely caught my attention. The food came out pretty fast. Definitely the best tacos I've had in Baltimore. I was a little nervous the first time I went in, as it looks like a total dive, but I've come to find that such places usually have the best food to offer. This was no exception. I've sampled a few of their tacos, but my test for any taqueria is their Al Pastor. On a 1-10 scale, I would give this place a solid 8.5 for theirs. My standard for a perfect 10 is a taqueria in northern Illinois that has recently closed down, and while Tijuana does not best them, it is as close as I have found. The staff is extremely friendly and willing to accommodate my, admittedly, American tastes with cheese and lettuce on the tacos. I'm not sure what kind of cheese it is that they use, but whatever it is, its fantastic! They give you your tacos along with some vegetables and cooked cactus, as well as a couple sauces which are rather tasty. I've sampled my friends tortas, sopes and a number of other items from their menu, and have yet to come across anything less than tasty. Their horchata is HUGE, like about 3/4 of a big gulp. Disgusting. I got the carne enchilada burrito, that's supposed to be spicy, and come with avocado, rice and beans. No beans, and no avocado. The meat was the most bland I've ever had. Also there was an incredibly small amount of meat, and the burrito was jam packed with lettuce. This place is garbage and expensive. Don't waste your time or money. The person below says free chips and salsa, we didn't get that. We actually got cold shoulders as soon as we walked in the door. I have been dying to try this place as I've lived in the area for a while and have heard really good things. What I got: 1 chicken burrito, 1 carne asade burrito, pico de galo with chips. Pros: Food was very fresh. Chips were SO good. Thick cut and really crispy! Cons: The salsas that come with the burritos and the pico de gallo, was SO spicy. The seeds are left into the peppers when they cut them, making the salsa extremely spicy. So unless you LOVE really SPICY things, skip this! I don't know that I'll be back, it was just OK. read more

This place is the definition of "hole in the wall", which is where most of its pros and cons derive from. Seriously, walking in you feel like your'e in Tijuana itself, which can be both a good and a bad thing.... The food is good if you get the right thing (most of the tacos, flautas, tortas) and so-so if you don't (enchiladas). The service is non-existent - don't even try calling ahead to place an order for pick up, if you're not there it's as though you never ordered and it may not go through, something I had to learn the hard way when I showed up hungry for my pick up at the appointed time and was told they hadn't made it yet. Of course, pick up is your main way to eat there - there's one or two tables under the ambiance of the fluorescent light. I did say this was a hole in the wall, right? The people who work here are ridiculously friendly. The food is phenomenal. It's not exactly the most pretty place to sit down and eat, if that's something that matters to you, however it's very authentic. The tacos are delicious. All of them. The burritos are huge, and amazing. Get an agua every time you order. They're like 3 bucks for a liter, made fresh, and made from actual fruit. The cubana is gargantuan, and will change your life.
