We got there around 40 minutes before they closed. I was hoping to be able to order a rice plate or something similar but they said that they could only serve us the soup dishes... Haven't ever had this happen to me before but I guess I could understand it a little? Ordered Bun Bo Hue and my friend ordered their Beef Pho. Both were ok but not anything special. My noodles were very chewy which was great but some strands were not even cooked thoroughly and still hard. 3/5 stars for me.

Got the beef pho and banh xeo. Everything was good. The restaurant is really pretty inside.

Receipt being double charge for tip

Please be very careful and get your receipt from here because they can scam you like they did to me. I have no problem paying the automatic gratuity of 20% for parties 6+ but don't charge me twice for it. I just got home from my trip and was going over all my receipts and just noticed this. Sad sad sad.

Looking for a good bun Bo hue? This is the place noodle was so bouncy and great flavor! Ask for chili oil got a nice kick. Only thing missing is pork blood. Meat were so tender!

Interior

Loved the decor! Food was good too, huge menu. I ordered the veggie pho without the veggies, not thinking that there's give me extra tofu! lol. I'll be back.

I walked into this restaurant and felt like I was in Hanoi minus the 20hr. plane flight. The restaurant has a great southeast Asian, ambiance, a beautiful waterfall, w/ lots of seating throughout w/ booths against the wall. Loved the stir fried string bean dish and instead of the tofu/chicken/shrimp options, I added beef to the order. The dish was marinated in a nice lemongrass base, bell peppers, onions and chili flakes. The dish was incredibly tasty paired w/ white rice to soak up those delicious flavors. Although we enjoyed the prawn & tofu in clay pot, with the lovely coconut milk, onions and peppers flavors, the portion was very small. Not too sure if it was worth the $25 price tag. The vermicelli salad was the standard bowl of vermicelli noodles, mixed in an array of vegetables w/ the options of grilled pork, beef, chicken or prawns w/ a vinaigrette on the side. Little pricy, but enjoyed the food at Tigon. Definitely worth at least one visit:)

Super delicious pho! The interior was super well decorated and comfortable. Felt like I got transported to a different place. The service was fine. The food was good, the broth was light but flavorful. The noodles were chewier than the usual pho that I eat which was new. The meat was just as I expected. My boyfriend got the iced viet coffee and it was so strong and felt a little thick/creamy?? Definitely needed to wait for the ice to melt then add more ice!

I usually come here and get the chicken rice plate, but this time I decided to order the chicken pho to go. It came with white chicken breast meat and two types of noodles, which was really interesting! The broth was delicious, and they included fresh veggies and condiments on the side.

This is a beautiful place right across from Nations Burgers. They serve a variety of traditional dishes and is big enough to hold large parties. I love their Bun Bo Hue! Parking is kinda tight in the area but this place is well worth it. The staff are very friendly and service for takeout was good! This is most definitely in my list for great takeout places!!

When I walked through the door, I couldn't believe how much dining space there was... it was a mega sized restaurant. I stopped in around 3:30pm on a weekday, so there was no wait. Staff was quick to greet me and show me to a table. The menu is abundant! Lots of veggie options. I specifically stopped in for the crepe (with tofu), it was the size of the dining table (ok, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but it was the size of the tray!). The crepe was a little too gooey, undercooked, for my taste, but the lettuce, mint, basil, carrots and accompaniments were super fresh, and that vegan fish sauce was legit. Most likely would not order this dish again due to unsatisfactory experience. The fresh rolls with tofu were some of my favs because the tofu was hot. Lettuce fresh and crips. Would order over and over again. I also ordered a side of veggie broth. Good flavor. Would order again. I thought prices were a little steep compared to similar restaurants. They also charged +$1 for tofu in the fresh rolls... no mention of it when I ordered, I just saw it on my receipt after I paid. There's also +3% charge for credit cards, again, nothing that is shared, I just saw it on my receipt. Inside is a little dingy in appearance and feel. If I'm in the area I'd stop in again, but wouldn't go out of my way.

I drive from FREMONT to Albany to visit my aunt at least once a month. Every time I'm on my way back home. I stop by here and order the E 14, the prawns clay pot. It's plenty of food super flavorful, very consistent in quality. There's always someone in here no matter what time of day I drop in. It's clean and welcoming. Oh, and I guess a Vietnamese coffee for the road.

I am surprised I have never reviewed it. Recently, I did a small catering order with the owner. She was very accommodating and pleasant to work with. Since they do not offer a catering menu, the order is based on how many items you want. I ordered 12 chicken and 12 pork sandwiches; And 20 orders of pork eggrolls. Everything was split in halves and tasted fantastic. My guests were very happy.

It's like a pho salad. It has tons of bean sprouts underneath the noodles and a lot of deep fried garlic pieces that make the noodles taste like Hong Kong crunchy noodles. At first I thought the egg noodles were fried. It was crunchy and there wasn't a lot of noodles but mostly a lot of sprouts and herbs. There were a lot of fatty barbecue pieces that I did not eat. I enjoyed one shrimp and one piece of squid. There were a ton of fake crab meat. The side soup was very nice and hot but had a taste of chicken fat and lots of salt and MSG. The noodle dish is extremely tasty and doesn't need any addition of soup. This was excellent on a hot day after a nice hike at Tilden Park. My husband ordered the same dish as me at my recommendation and loved it. My friend had their chow fun with seafood and barbecue. She enjoyed it and it was a generous amount so she took home half. This place is not shy about using MSG and the food is very salty and strong tasting. I find the dishes much cheaper than other Vietnamese restaurants. My dish was only $13.50. That's very cheap since it was full of herbs and seafood. Service is very efficient when they're not busy. No frills. Service is very slow when it's busy. Most of their customers are people who are coming here during their office lunch break during the weekdays. I noticed it was very quiet on a weekend. I'm still going to go back to my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Berkeley next time I am in the area, Phosho Dough.

A mentor of mines took me out to dinner here in celebration of my recent graduation and a farewell for my time away overseas for a months. The restaurant was spacious and of course had a cute little view of the marina and bay right outside. Dinner time on a weekday was nice and convenient, and the staff were super chill and patient as we took time to scan the menu and decide what we wanted. We ordered the following: - Shaking chicken: 4.5/5 - this was so flavorful and such a good protein dish! - Spring rolls: 4/5 - Clean and healthy; the sauce made it sooo good. - Fish cakes: 4/5 - they were yummy and good complement to the other dishes we had considering that we tried to balance out our nutritional options. - Spiked Vietnamese coffee: 5/5! I love Vietnamese coffee already but getting to experience an alcohol-based version was solid with this dinner. It was strong with a rich coffee flavor. Something I'd like to emphasize is that these dishes (in my opinion) are ideal for sharing. I ended up taking a lot of the food home because between us two, it was rough eating everything in one go. I can see Anh being a popular place to celebrate as well as a good place for a date! I'd definitely love to come back in the near future.

Because it is located in the Pacific East Mall with 99 Ranch, Pho Saigon has become a regular option I turn to when the weather (or my stomach) calls for it. You will find it near the back of the mall, and the place feels a little dated like an old school Asian family restaurant. It hits the spot when you are in a pinch for Viet staples like pho or vermicelli rice dishes, but as stated earlier, it's not where you go if you're looking for standout Vietnamese food. The value is decent, especially if you get the large pho. The service is generally pretty quick and friendly. While not my favorite, I still want Pho Saigon to be an option I return to, I'm giving it a slightly higher rating knowing full well that negative reviews can hurt business.

We are the only customer when we arrived. Very pleasant not overpowering jazz mood music plays. Our server has a very pleasant demeanor. We have Taiwan beef noodle soup. Nice and hot the way it should be. Perfect to my tongue textures of the beef cubes and egg noodles. The beef broth was amazing. At the end of our meal I was full. Too full to the point that I almost cried that I couldn't drink the last gulps but it was too small a portion to warrant taking home. Our Kung Pao chicken? Delicious. Chock full of chicken bites and delicious vegetables. Somehow the plentiful peanuts set my taste buds acraving. Wow wow Pao tasty. The only miss with this was that it was brought to us on a coldish serving plate. A common mistake. We didn't get to try this dish hot. We are now wanting our bill. Seems like long time wanting. To our dismay, our friendly server got herself enmeshed in an on again off again conversation with someone at another table shortly after we arrived. Then she disappeared for a while. We are tempted to guess the bill amount (turns out we guessed wrong by $1), leave cash on the table and walk out. Instead I get up and she appears at the register. Magic. We pay proper like and walk out respectfully. I wouldn't mind coming back.

Rang the bell twice before a lady appeared and directed me to sit on the other side of the restaurant. Adventure begins. It was COLD where I sat, so I asked for a cup of hot tea -- problem solved. The menu, though? Massive. Pho, salads, Vietnamese sandwiches, porridge, vegetarian dishes, noodle soups, vermicelli bowls, rice plates, chow mein, catering options... and about 30 drinks including fruit shakes with boba. If you can't find something here, that's on you. Parking is easy since they have their own lot - always a win around here. Now, about the staff -- I mention this because credit is due. Everyone appears to be older (50+), clearly hardworking folks grinding it out to make a living, and they're genuinely nice. Don't expect much small talk in English though -- they're polite, efficient, and focused on getting things done rather than chatting, which is totally fine. Just a "here's your food, enjoy" kind of vibe. One funny (but slightly distracting) thing: there was a full-on conversation happening in the kitchen between a lady and a man, and it was loud enough that I could clearly hear it from my seat. I felt like I was unintentionally eavesdropping. Maybe turn the kitchen decibel down just a notch? Final downside: a $0.50 to-go charge and a $1.38 'merchant fee.' I find these additional charges off-putting and they give me pause about returning. On principle, I believe these are operating costs the establishment should absorb rather than fees that are passed on to the customer. Overall: extensive menu options, hardworking staff, easy parking -- but the mediocre food, extra fees and a few quirks will keep me away and keep it from being a slam dunk.
