A pho spot in a shopping center! I stopped by while running errands. The food was delicious. The service was neither great nor bad--just average. The atmosphere has a nice Asian vibe.

Solid, quick, exactly what you expect for a casual pho spot. Located in Pacific East Mall, there's plenty of parking (but don't leave anything in the car!). Service is quick and food was good. My grandma wanted a small pho with just tendon and they easily accommodated. I got a large combo. Spring rolls seemed fresh fried and tasty. Plenty of seating. Hits the spot!

Went to Pho Saigon for a quick lunch and it lived up to that, food came out in like 2 minutes. Pho was pretty standard. The broth was on the lighter side; not super rich, but still comforting. Noodles were cooked well and they give you a lot of meat and noodles for $16, which honestly makes it a solid deal. The spot has that familiar family-run feel, you know it's authentic when there's a kid working the register. Nothing mind-blowing, but if you're in the area and want something quick, filling, and classic, it does the trick.

Came in at 7pm on a Tuesday. The service was quick, not too many tables seated so it was pretty quiet. The chicken pho was underwhelming. The noodles were good and chewy. The broth was light and flavorful. The chicken was extremely dry which ruined the overall experience. I would not order this dish again. It was not worth $15.50.

Presentation was good and the food looked good but taste was not good. Rice noodles were way undercooked, and hard, obviously rehydrated and no fresh. Pork had an off taste but nice char. Side soup had a very strange taste. Not sure how to explain but but taste was just really bad for me and I've had this dish hundreds of times in my life and hundreds of times in Vietnam. Wouldn't return.

Portions were good, and the service was attentive. Unfortunately, it stopped there. The smells of the cleaning chemical were strong in the dining area. Appreciate the efforts to keep things clean and sanitized. But, could have used products that smell better (the clorox smells were just too strong). We ordered a special pho and a BBQ pork chop. Both came out in hugh portions. We could not finish them even though we went in hungry. However, the flavor was quite bland. The only way to save the dishes was to add plenty of hot chili peppers.

When you see the green chopsticks....iykyk. Solid and reasonably priced pho spot! It is hidden in the back of the Pacific East Mall. My friends and I each ordered staples: beef pho, seafood noodle soup, and beef stew noodles. I got the seafood noodle soup and quite enjoyed it. We all got the large size and the portion sizes are indeed large. My only gripe is that the noodles were really entangled and made it a bit hard to eat. The soup got a little salty toward the end so I ordered the three bean dessert to-go. Seems like most people get up and pay at the counter. Take note of your table number on the utensil holder - they asked for it.

We've been coming to Pho Saigon in El Cerrito for years. This time, we ordered the beef pho, pork chop rice plate, and a taro shake, and everything was just as delicious as we remembered. Service was quick and friendly, tables clean and the food was delicious. Definitely one of our favorite spots for Pho and Vietnamese food!

We frequently visit this restaurant for a casual meal. We are always seated and served quickly. The food tastes great and the price is good as well!

Good pho! The broth was light and flavorful and the meats were what I was expecting. The noodles were a little soggy and stuck together at the bottom, but not too much to complain about. This place is tucked away in a corner of the 99 Ranch Market building. It was pretty quiet for a Saturday night. I would definitely make the trip back for some pho and groceries!

I am surprised I have never reviewed it. Recently, I did a small catering order with the owner. She was very accommodating and pleasant to work with. Everything was split in halves and tasted fantastic. My guests were very happy.

It's like a pho salad. It has tons of bean sprouts underneath the noodles and a lot of deep fried garlic pieces that make the noodles taste like Hong Kong crunchy noodles. At first I thought the egg noodles were fried. It was crunchy and there wasn't a lot of noodles but mostly a lot of sprouts and herbs. There were a lot of fatty barbecue pieces that I did not eat. I enjoyed one shrimp and one piece of squid. There were a ton of fake crab meat. The side soup was very nice and hot but had a taste of chicken fat and lots of salt and MSG. The noodle dish is extremely tasty and doesn't need any addition of soup. This was excellent on a hot day after a nice hike at Tilden Park. My husband ordered the same dish as me at my recommendation and loved it. My friend had their chow fun with seafood and barbecue. She enjoyed it and it was a generous amount so she took home half. This place is not shy about using MSG and the food is very salty and strong tasting. I find the dishes much cheaper than other Vietnamese restaurants. My dish was only $13.50. That's very cheap since it was full of herbs and seafood. Service is very efficient when they're not busy. No frills. Service is very slow when it's busy. Most of their customers are people who are coming here during their office lunch break during the weekdays. I noticed it was very quiet on a weekend. I'm still going to go back to my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Berkeley next time I am in the area, Phosho Dough.

A mentor of mines took me out to dinner here in celebration of my recent graduation and a farewell for my time away overseas for a months. The restaurant was spacious and of course had a cute little view of the marina and bay right outside. Dinner time on a weekday was nice and convenient, and the staff were super chill and patient as we took time to scan the menu and decide what we wanted. We ordered the following: - Shaking chicken: 4.5/5 - this was so flavorful and such a good protein dish! - Spring rolls: 4/5 - Clean and healthy; the sauce made it sooo good. - Fish cakes: 4/5 - they were yummy and good complement to the other dishes we had considering that we tried to balance out our nutritional options. - Spiked Vietnamese coffee: 5/5! I love Vietnamese coffee already but getting to experience an alcohol-based version was solid with this dinner. It was strong with a rich coffee flavor. Something I'd like to emphasize is that these dishes (in my opinion) are ideal for sharing. I ended up taking a lot of the food home because between us two, it was rough eating everything in one go. I can see Anh being a popular place to celebrate as well as a good place for a date! I'd definitely love to come back in the near future.

It adds so much flavor and makes the whole dish feel extra satisfying. One small tip, I'd recommend asking for a bit more lime with the dipping sauce. The pepper-to-lime ratio leans pretty heavy on the pepper side, and I personally like a little more acidity to cut through the richness of the beef. The eggroll appetizer is also worth mentioning. They come out nice and crispy, and wrapping them in the lettuce with the dipping sauce adds a great contrast in texture and a fresh layer of flavor. It's a simple touch, but it really elevates the dish. The pho is solid and pretty standard, no complaints there, but the shaking beef is definitely the star. The atmosphere is very family-friendly. There were kids playing and interacting with each other, which gave the place a warm, community feel. My little one was a bit shy when some kids came over to say hi, but it was still a welcoming moment. The interior is spacious, so I wouldn't worry about bringing a larger group. And for accessibility, there are a couple of steps at the entrance, but there's a lift on the right side, and a flat entrance in the back for wheelchairs or strollers, which is a nice touch.

Rang the bell twice before a lady appeared and directed me to sit on the other side of the restaurant. Adventure begins. It was COLD where I sat, so I asked for a cup of hot tea -- problem solved. The menu, though? Massive. Pho, salads, Vietnamese sandwiches, porridge, vegetarian dishes, noodle soups, vermicelli bowls, rice plates, chow mein, catering options... and about 30 drinks including fruit shakes with boba. If you can't find something here, that's on you. Parking is easy since they have their own lot - always a win around here. Now, about the staff -- I mention this because credit is due. Everyone appears to be older (50+), clearly hardworking folks grinding it out to make a living, and they're genuinely nice. Don't expect much small talk in English though -- they're polite, efficient, and focused on getting things done rather than chatting, which is totally fine. Just a "here's your food, enjoy" kind of vibe. One funny (but slightly distracting) thing: there was a full-on conversation happening in the kitchen between a lady and a man, and it was loud enough that I could clearly hear it from my seat. I felt like I was unintentionally eavesdropping. Maybe turn the kitchen decibel down just a notch? Final downside: a $0.50 to-go charge and a $1.38 'merchant fee.' I find these additional charges off-putting and they give me pause about returning. On principle, I believe these are operating costs the establishment should absorb rather than fees that are passed on to the customer. Overall: extensive menu options, hardworking staff, easy parking -- but the mediocre food, extra fees and a few quirks will keep me away and keep it from being a slam dunk.

If you see Nam Khao on the menu of a Laotian/Thai restaurant, that means they know what they are doing just because it's so labor-intensive to make a salad(!) and the fermented pork has to be damn-near perfect for this salad to really shine and round out the fresh herbs and seasonings which includes lime juice, vinegar, and fish sauce. Ka Soy (the noodle soup) is a comfort food enjoyed in Southeast Asia. It's not the Thai-style where it's a curry broth and the noodles are fried, so let's not get it mixed up. Instead, it's bone broth that been simmered for hours and it's somewhat a lighter broth. The noodles are wide rice noodles in a big bowl of hot broth served with a mixture of ground pork cooked down with tomatoes along with fresh bean sprouts, scallions, and cilantro - simply a divine noodle soup that a must-try. It's not overly complex in terms of flavor, but it's a bowl of good ol' noodle soup that is comforting and great-tasting.
