    Menu as of 03/26/25.

A no frills eatery that we decided to try, based on the existing reviews. While today's weather was substantially cooler that yesterday's heat wave, it was extremely stuffy upon stepping inside, although two fans were on. The recently posted menu I found online did not reflect the current prices, so I took a shot of the full menu as of 03/26/25. The male server was mediocre, since he practically ignored the two questions my vegetarian friend asked about the contents of a main dish and a dessert. She had to chase him down as he was walking away both times. We ordered the vegetarian the stir fried "Ginger" dish and a mild yellow curry "eggplant," each with tofu, and two bowls of steamed rice. The Ginger dish was plenty for anyone with a decent appetite. The curry eggplant was a perfect consistency and flavor, except it lacked the main ingredient - eggplant! While there were several diced potatoes and sliced carrots, there were only FOUR pieces of eggplant, so I could not rate this establishment at 4 stars. However, it's definitely a place to try, but not to impress on a first date.

This is a small unassuming place, but the food is absolutely amazing. I had the chicken pad see ew and loaded it up with hot sauce and chili oils at the table. It was delicious and legit came out so fresh, like steaming hot. Also the price was very reasonable, only 10.95 for this huge plate of food.

A Hidden Gem! I'm familiar with the area and thanks to Muang's review and photos, it got me hungry and lured me into checking it out. I didn't expect much, but wow, what a hidden gem! I ordered red curry, spicy chicken wings and egg rolls. The curry was surprisingly delicious and comparable to my wifey's and I favorite Thai restaurant in Pinole, Thai Spice. The ingredients tasted fresh and the broth was semi thick and flavorful with some heat! The spicy wings were yummy! So much flavors and tasty. Wish it had more heat though. Nevertheless, I should have ordered more! Lol! As for the chicken egg rolls/lumpias, fried perfectly and tasted acceptable as well. Not as good as my mum's homemade lumpias, but who is? Lol...still the best! Regardless, all three items were a great discovery. Please support this local business, because I know I will and return again for great tasty food!

This place is a old family restaurant, don't let that scare you away! The food was excellent and a very good value!

This place is delicious. Can't wait to come back and try other things on the menu. This is definitely an unassuming mom and pop shop. Definitely worth a visit. When we came there were no other customers but don't let that fool you. Everything we ordered was so full of flavor leaving our tastebuds tantalized Coming back for sure if we're in the area

I accidentally stumbled upon this place recently and I'm so glad I found it! I had always passed by and never noticed it, but the food is amazing! I would absolutely recommend the pad see ew and the wings. I've tried their curries and those are very delicious as well. If you're in the mood for Thai this is your place! And the prices are great as well!

Super tasty Kao Soy (Lao soup), so yummy. And, of course the mango sticky rice too.

Super delish kao Soy noodle soup. Packed with flavor and spices and had to get the na go sticky rice too.

It's like a pho salad. It has tons of bean sprouts underneath the noodles and a lot of deep fried garlic pieces that make the noodles taste like Hong Kong crunchy noodles. At first I thought the egg noodles were fried. It was crunchy and there wasn't a lot of noodles but mostly a lot of sprouts and herbs. There were a lot of fatty barbecue pieces that I did not eat. I enjoyed one shrimp and one piece of squid. There were a ton of fake crab meat. The side soup was very nice and hot but had a taste of chicken fat and lots of salt and MSG. The noodle dish is extremely tasty and doesn't need any addition of soup. This was excellent on a hot day after a nice hike at Tilden Park. My husband ordered the same dish as me at my recommendation and loved it. My friend had their chow fun with seafood and barbecue. She enjoyed it and it was a generous amount so she took home half. This place is not shy about using MSG and the food is very salty and strong tasting. I find the dishes much cheaper than other Vietnamese restaurants. My dish was only $13.50. That's very cheap since it was full of herbs and seafood. Service is very efficient when they're not busy. No frills. Service is very slow when it's busy. Most of their customers are people who are coming here during their office lunch break during the weekdays. I noticed it was very quiet on a weekend. I'm still going to go back to my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Berkeley next time I am in the area, Phosho Dough.

A mentor of mines took me out to dinner here in celebration of my recent graduation and a farewell for my time away overseas for a months. The restaurant was spacious and of course had a cute little view of the marina and bay right outside. Dinner time on a weekday was nice and convenient, and the staff were super chill and patient as we took time to scan the menu and decide what we wanted. We ordered the following: - Shaking chicken: 4.5/5 - this was so flavorful and such a good protein dish! - Spring rolls: 4/5 - Clean and healthy; the sauce made it sooo good. - Fish cakes: 4/5 - they were yummy and good complement to the other dishes we had considering that we tried to balance out our nutritional options. - Spiked Vietnamese coffee: 5/5! I love Vietnamese coffee already but getting to experience an alcohol-based version was solid with this dinner. It was strong with a rich coffee flavor. Something I'd like to emphasize is that these dishes (in my opinion) are ideal for sharing. I ended up taking a lot of the food home because between us two, it was rough eating everything in one go. I can see Anh being a popular place to celebrate as well as a good place for a date! I'd definitely love to come back in the near future.

It adds so much flavor and makes the whole dish feel extra satisfying. One small tip, I'd recommend asking for a bit more lime with the dipping sauce. The pepper-to-lime ratio leans pretty heavy on the pepper side, and I personally like a little more acidity to cut through the richness of the beef. The eggroll appetizer is also worth mentioning. They come out nice and crispy, and wrapping them in the lettuce with the dipping sauce adds a great contrast in texture and a fresh layer of flavor. It's a simple touch, but it really elevates the dish. The pho is solid and pretty standard, no complaints there, but the shaking beef is definitely the star. The atmosphere is very family-friendly. There were kids playing and interacting with each other, which gave the place a warm, community feel. My little one was a bit shy when some kids came over to say hi, but it was still a welcoming moment. The interior is spacious, so I wouldn't worry about bringing a larger group. And for accessibility, there are a couple of steps at the entrance, but there's a lift on the right side, and a flat entrance in the back for wheelchairs or strollers, which is a nice touch.

Rang the bell twice before a lady appeared and directed me to sit on the other side of the restaurant. Adventure begins. It was COLD where I sat, so I asked for a cup of hot tea -- problem solved. The menu, though? Massive. Pho, salads, Vietnamese sandwiches, porridge, vegetarian dishes, noodle soups, vermicelli bowls, rice plates, chow mein, catering options... and about 30 drinks including fruit shakes with boba. If you can't find something here, that's on you. Parking is easy since they have their own lot - always a win around here. Now, about the staff -- I mention this because credit is due. Everyone appears to be older (50+), clearly hardworking folks grinding it out to make a living, and they're genuinely nice. Don't expect much small talk in English though -- they're polite, efficient, and focused on getting things done rather than chatting, which is totally fine. Just a "here's your food, enjoy" kind of vibe. One funny (but slightly distracting) thing: there was a full-on conversation happening in the kitchen between a lady and a man, and it was loud enough that I could clearly hear it from my seat. I felt like I was unintentionally eavesdropping. Maybe turn the kitchen decibel down just a notch? Final downside: a $0.50 to-go charge and a $1.38 'merchant fee.' I find these additional charges off-putting and they give me pause about returning. On principle, I believe these are operating costs the establishment should absorb rather than fees that are passed on to the customer. Overall: extensive menu options, hardworking staff, easy parking -- but the mediocre food, extra fees and a few quirks will keep me away and keep it from being a slam dunk.

You will find it near the back of the mall, and the place feels a little dated like an old school Asian family restaurant. It hits the spot when you are in a pinch for Viet staples like pho or vermicelli rice dishes, but as stated earlier, it's not where you go if you're looking for standout Vietnamese food. The value is decent, especially if you get the large pho. The service is generally pretty quick and friendly. Hidden gem in El Sobrante that serves up some of the best Laotian and Thai food in the Bay Area…read more Every time we visit, must-orders are the Nam Khao (crispy rice ball salad with fermented pork sausage and fresh herbs) and Ka Soy (Laotian noodle soup). If you see Nam Khao on the menu of a Laotian/Thai restaurant, that means they know what they are doing just because it's so labor-intensive to make a salad(!) and the fermented pork has to be damn-near perfect for this salad to really shine and round out the fresh herbs and seasonings which includes lime juice, vinegar, and fish sauce. Ka Soy (the noodle soup) is a comfort food enjoyed in Southeast Asia. It's not the Thai-style where it's a curry broth and the noodles are fried, so let's not get it mixed up. Instead, it's bone broth that been simmered for hours and it's somewhat a lighter broth. The noodles are wide rice noodles in a big bowl of hot broth served with a mixture of ground pork cooked down with tomatoes along with fresh bean sprouts, scallions, and cilantro - simply a divine noodle soup that a must-try. It's not overly complex in terms of flavor, but it's a bowl of good ol' noodle soup that is comforting and great-tasting.
