    Winewagen Tours - Perfect ride!

    Winewagen Tours

I booked a tour with Winewagen for a small bachelorette party. Zach was fantastic--punctual,…read moreprofessional, great communication, and very laid back. The van was comfortable, clean, and roomy, and we had a blast during our jumps between wineries playing DJ and singing along to the glory of the early 200s. Our group had a couple hiccups when the day got started that Zach went above and beyond handling--like our Airbnb door not closing (bizarre, I know!), and Zach was kind enough to help us fix it so we could get on our way. All around wonderful experience; I would not hesitate to book again if (hopefully, when!) I am back in the area. Thank you again, Zach! (Also posted on Google reviews by me).

This review is a bit overdue, but we are still talking about it a year later for a girls trip with…read moremy 3 best friends. We knew it was going to be a great trip when we got in and Zak simply asked where do you want to go? We said you are from here take us where you would go. He asked white or red? We said red.. We asked him to pick some cool music and he started with Bob Seger Roll Me Away and we were hooked. And so it began, he took us to smaller wineries with excellent products, good pricing, customer oriented and less crowded. Not a single tourist trap. Zak even put up with me pestering him about the bus, the motor, the restoration - I'm a bike and car nut. He even showed me his friend's beautiful european sports car at one winery.. nice! :) This classic VW Westfalia bus has complete charm, a few rattles, old school seat belts, a few bumps on the stone road and cool tunes; she showed us girls old school cool. This ride was exactly what we hoped for, we loved that we could visit, not sit there listening to some over the top driver bugging us with a bunch of chit chat stories, bragging tales of the area or taking over our day; he just let us have fun and relax. In some of the other reviews they wanted more chit chatty tour guide, not us, we want laid back and not trying to struggle talking to each other over a tour guide. We preferred that the wineries give us the tour we wanted and information at each stop. Zak was so polite, very responsive to answered to winery, sites and local questions we had. We enjoyed that he opened the door for us and took us into the wineries and introduced us to the folks there. The folks at the wineries treated us wonderfully and they seemed to be friends with Zak we felt they went out of the way to take care of us. Overall, I have told everyone I meet that this is the way to tour if you are into laid back, peaceful rides with great places to visit. All 4 of us ladies agree, this was the highlight of our trip; Zak and the the Winewagen exceeded ALL expectations. Thanks again! Kris Atwater Oak Harbor, OH

OMG!!! Deliciousness! We were lucky to get seats at the bar on a busy Saturday night, but MAN! I am…read moreso glad we did. Could be all the wine in me talking (though I don't think so from the way everyone was chowing down), but this was some Grade A BBQ! Pulled pork was laced with sauce - sweet, sticky, not the least bit dry... the spare ribs were so tender, Smokey and flavorful and honestly not a whole lot of fat... and the brisket, well it melted in your mouth. Honestly - just way too good! Drinks. Food. Service. Company - 10 for 10!

This is the first restaurant we went to for dinner in Geneva and it was, unfortunately, a very…read moredisappointing experience despite their excellent reviews. Let me get to the details: Service: staffs were not attentive, friendly, nor helpful. The restaurant was busy when we came so we decided to seat outside. However, their outdoor tables were wobbly. Also, there were no bugs control devices nor heating lamps to accommodate us. When we asked to move inside, their response was we have to talk to the host and the hostess told us it is not possible because they were "too busy".... Yet we would see an empty table where they rather seat 2 people that come after us instead of us. On top of all that, our sever never came to refill our water. For service, this place is a zero star for me. Food: we ordered their famous heavy plate. The food size was loaded for the price, everything tastes fine but nothing was exceptional. Giving them some stars for the decent food. Atmosphere: inside has lots of booth style seatings and bar seatings. They can accomplish large parties. Outdoor seating is not great as their tables were cheap and they're seating on a slope. There were no heat lamps or bug controls so I don't recommend eating outside in the evening here. Overall: honestly, we felt ignored at this restaurant. I wouldn't come back here since they're not very accommodating or nice. Highly recommend management to train their staffs better.

We stopped by yesterday to have lunch after a morning on the wine trail and we were so glad we did!…read moreBefore we talk about the food, just want to give a shout out to our waitress who was just phenomenal-- I wish I would have caught her name! She was so attentive and quick to help if we had questions. We tried the sampler, and others at the table had different brats. Everyone said their meals were great-- the sampler is more than enough for two people, and can certainly be a snack for a group of four. Each of the brats are seasoned so well, but my personal favorite was the andouille-- it was spicy and seasoned to perfection with a crunch when you bite into it. The bread that came with the sample was also great- really crispy and warm! We were also able to try each of the sauces, and the banana pepper mustard and beer mustard are delicious! So much so, we bought a jar of the banana pepper mustard to take home with us. There were plenty of seats inside and outside the restaurant. Definitely would love to come support this place again in the future!

I can't really sit here and say this was a positive or negative experience; it was just kind of odd…read morebut ultimately it delivered what it was supposed to. My cousin chums and I stopped by here on Labor Day after our mini wine tour in need of sustenance aka real food (a quality all of the wineries we went to were severely lacking in). From what I could tell, this is sort of an extension of the Arbor Hill Winery - to access Brew & Brats, we actually ended up walking through what I assume was Arbor Hill's main gift shop/wine tasting area, which sold more in the line of quasi-bougie condiments than actual wine. We briefly considered doing a third winery tasting here but I just didn't like the vibe, so we continued on to the back of the premises where this restaurant/bar was. Perfectly pleasant in there; the main establishment seemed to be centered on a barn-like structure (it almost felt like it had a former life as a ye olde general store, then got cleaned out to be a bar), though we ended up sitting/eating right outside in a little pavilion area with picnic tables (great weather for it). I also used the facilities at one point, which were unique - also a bit barn-like and felt very...temporary storage unit but not in a bad way, if that makes sense. Everything was spacious and clean from my perspective. When in Rome, I think you get brats. There was understandably a Bavarian-themed tinge to this menu, but heavily Americanized. So sauerkraut was a pretty pervasive ingredient, but it also had a lot of mainstream salad and BBQ sides. Interesting for sure. I didn't want to complicate things after multiple wine tastings, so I opted to get the Arbor Hill Sherried Wine Sausage with a side of baked beans. Honestly not bad; the marinating of the sherried wine gave it a nice fruity/sweet tinge. I'm more of a hot dog connoisseur when it comes to my weenies and I'm not a fan of condiments; even if I were though, something this flavorful probably doesn't need to rely on them. And I can always get down with a toasted bun. The beans were just okay; too sweet for my palate. I was expecting something more savory given the bacon, but literally every other ingredient drowns it out. I'd remove the brown sugar - if the sauce is already sherried wine-flavored, you really don't need to double-down. The service was honestly a little strange/awkward. Our waitress was friendly enough and given what we were ordering, it would have been insane if the wait time was more than 10 minutes or so (and it wasn't). We were in and out of there relatively quickly, giving us plenty of time to test drive our Airbnb hot tub. But she was very flustered and agitated throughout our stay there, constantly apologizing for the chaos and wait times, which were nonexistent. Every time she came to our table, it was accompanied by a flurry of, "Sorry, it's just been CRAZY with all of these people," which, given that there were literally two other parties and tons of empty seats just wasn't accurate and made no sense. My assumption is that they had a crazy lunchtime rush or something that she was still processing and/or recovering from, but I really don't know. Regardless, it didn't really detract from the overall meal or anything. The prices were out-and-out fantastic. For a legit entree and sides, casual as they were, $15 or so was a legit deal. This whole Naples area was generally pretty affordable, to its credit. Not really my kind of food in the grand scheme of things, but it was fine for what it was. Hope our waitress got a good night's sleep at least.
