Wow... what a disappointment. It was my first time. There were people in the restaurant. That…read moreshould have been my first clue. Two young men behind the counter. They were polite. One clearly was training. I asked for a sample of the tortilla soup. As I looked through their choices of protein, the selections looked stale. I couldn't bring myself to try it. It wasn't appetizing at all. The water choices from the fountain drinks were not marked. You can see a spout but you have to guess which is carbonated or regular. I know for a fact that management can do better than that. The restaurant was clean but with an empty restaurant, there is no reason to have stacked dirty dishes in the basin. It shouldn't be so hard. My granddaughter had their tortilla soup but like me, couldn't make herself add any toppings. They looked like they'd been there all day. Hope they turn it around quick.

This was my first visit to Gadzooks in Gilbert, but I had been to the downtown Chandler location…read moretwice before it closed. They are known for their oven that melts all of your goodies on your tacos or enchiladas together in a ceramic bowl. You typically have a good choice of meats and vegetarian options as your filling, but on the night I dined here they were out of the bison (my first choice of protein) and the short ribs. I ended up ordering one green Chile pork and one chicken enchilada, topped it with cheeses, salsas, sauces, pickled onion and more. The enchiladas and drink already rang up to just under $20 so I bypassed a side (would have bought the spicy cornbread). For a better value, the lunch special is $15 for your entree, a side and a drink, which would save about $5 vs standard dinner prices. The meal didn't cook quite long enough in the oven because I didn't get any crisping of the tortilla, gooey melting of the cheese or hardening of the juices in the bottom of the bowl (just wetness). This took away some of the expected flavor profile. While the employees were friendly, they kept their iced tea behind the counter so I had to have them fill my cup up twice. I always like a blend of ~2/3 unsweet tea and ~1/3 sweet tea...but when the tea ratios are out of my control I just asked for half and half. The first time it was too sweet so my refill I asked for unsweet only. The interior is nice, spacious, well-lit and clean. Despite the parking lot for this complex was full with cars winding up and down every row looking for a spot, there was only one other customer in the store during primetime dinner hours. Clearly, Gadzooks is not the hot location in the Epicenter. Overall, my first experience at Gadzooks Gilbert was just okay. I was disappointed they were out of my first protein choices and my meal was not in the oven long enough. But it's not a complete dealbreaker as I could see myself eating here again in the future.

I tried the apricot chicken and the jalepeno empanadas. This restaurant also has very good looking drinks, both alcoholic and non alcoholic. We enjoyed our server and she was very patient and polite, The ambiance was the perfect mix that would allow for kids but also is perfectly acceptable without. It is a higher level casual sit down. The booth was comfortable and the views outside the restaurant are great. You can also see the bread they make.

We started with large French fries served with two smallish containers ketchup and chipotle sauce. Fries good but could have a bit hotter and served with insufficient amount of sauces. 3. Hubs had Caesar salad. I'm not kidding when I tell you that half of the bowl was croutons. 2. I had the minestrone soup with sausage, no pasta. This was absolute delicious and filling. I'd come back just for a bowl @ $17. 5. Hubs and I shared the wood fired pepperoni pizza. This may have been one of the worst pizzas I've had in recent years. Floppy, scant cheese and sauce. Shriveled basil and tiny pepperonis. Even worse, the bottom was black. Just awful. 1. Our waitress and other servers were all friendly. Nice vibe, clean and gender inclusive restrooms clean and tidy. We might come back for dinner one day and try other dishes. (I'd still get the soup). Super convenient given the Hale theater's close proximity. Well def come back for coffee and dessert! ~EG Eats

Ambiance 5/5 This is a nice Thai quaint restaurant with a nicely decorated dining room with Cultural pieces throughout. Service 5/5++ Dinner service was provided again by Moo. What's amazing is her immediate recognition of me and my last order. I have memory envy. Moo got things rolling with Ice Tea. The starter was their rice paper spring rolls (salad rolls) which come as four servings with a nice peanut sauce and sweet chili sauce. As mentioned in my previous review, these are amazing delicious because they are made fresh with thinly sliced cucumber, carrot, sprouts, fresh mint, cilantro and spring mix with a choice of protein. I always have them made with shrimp. Pro-tip challenge Try eating just one serving! Entrees ordered Pad Kee Moa (drunken noodles) Thai Hot! Pork Jerky, nicely seasoned with Thai seasoning and Sriracha sauce reduction. Served with a crispy outer crust and tender pork center. This came with another delicious dipping sauce, bravo! Food10/5 Chef Tom continues to deliver a very fresh culinary experience. My husband and I came in for a light dinner after a movie last night. We got our food and were just sitting, enjoying our meal when Chester walked by with a couple plates of sweet potato fries and I made a comment only to my husband about how good they looked. To my surprise less than 5 minutes later Chester came over and dropped off a plate of fries at the table for me. That was literally the NICEST thing someone has done for me in forever - I was SO impressed. WOW!!!! So if you're Chester's manager - please tell him thank you again for going above and beyond. The atmosphere is upbeat, bright, and welcoming with a really good energy whether you're stopping in for lunch, dinner, or meeting up with a larger group. The setup works especially well for groups since there's plenty of seating and the ordering process keeps things moving even when it's busy. One thing they do very well is efficiency without losing hospitality. They have both a dine-in ordering counter and a dedicated to-go counter, which seems necessary because this place stays packed. Even during busy times, the staff stays friendly, attentive, and organized. You can tell there's real attention paid to each order and that management understands how to run a smooth restaurant operation. The menu has a lot of solid choices whether you want something lighter, comforting, vegetarian, or protein-packed. Portions were satisfying, and the broccoli deserves its own mention -- somehow simple but absolutely addictive. My only real note is that pricing feels a little high for an order-at-the-counter style restaurant. That said, the quality, atmosphere, and overall experience do make it easier to justify once in a while.

The location has a quaint, house-style feel with beautifully manicured grounds. The large doors were open, allowing a lovely breeze to flow through, a welcomed touch. There's also a convenient parking lot right next door, which was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant offers a variety of seating options: outside patio, high-top outdoor seating, inside bar seating, and traditional indoor dining. We arrived in that sweet spot between lunch and happy hour, so the restaurant was quiet and relaxed, exactly how we like it. Drinks My Blue Hawaiian ($15) was absolutely amazing, it really hit the spot, and I was still feeling great when we left! My husband ordered the Pizza Port Chronic ($5) and said it was a nice, refreshing change of pace. Our Server Andrew Andrew greeted us immediately, walked us through both the food and drink menus, and was genuinely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He was the highlight of our visit. Exceptional service. Appetizer Butter Board & Bread We started with the Butter Board ($14), served with toasted bread. The butter itself, whipped with ricotta, herbs, and what I believe was a honey drizzle, was absolutely delicious. My only note is that the bread edges were toasted a bit too dark for my taste, leaving a slightly burnt crust flavor and aroma. Entrées I ordered the Seared Scallops ($48), which were plated with white potatoes, purple potatoes (possibly ube), and sausage over a rich sauce. Unfortunately, the purple potatoes had a burnt taste that was off-putting, and I wasn't able to finish much of my meal. My husband, on the other hand, thoroughly enjoyed his Grilled Striped Bass ($48), beautifully plated and well-executed. Final Thoughts While my entree missed the mark this visit, Andrew's outstanding service and the overall ambience more than carried the experience. The space is gorgeous, the concept is lovely, and I can absolutely see returning when the seasonal menu refreshes. In my opinion, it's worth a second chance, we will be back.

When our grandsons and their Dad came by later that day, I asked them if they were willing to try Vietnamese food. We gave them a description as to what Pho was and let them know that there were other items on the menu besides Pho. They all were willing to give it a try. One grandson didn't come along as he has a part-time job and had to work that day. Once we all entered the restaurant, we were greeted and seated. I ordered my usual Pho Ga and my husband plus our son-in-law also had the same thing. One grandson ordered a Pho that had beef in it. The other grandson isn't a fan of soups so he ordered a fried rice and chicken meal. The Pho portion was very generous and the aromatics were fresh. Everyone who had Pho enjoyed their meal. Our grandson, who got the chicken and fried rice, liked his meal. The ambiance is that of a casual place with some artwork on the walls. If we lived nearby, we would gladly go here again. The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing.
