I told our server Sarah and she immediately let me know that chef would make a vegan meal with vsrious vegetables they had on hand. I only specified I did not like olives. It was delicious! These two couldn't make my first visit to Thyme2 any better. I started with the Steak fajita soup. Tender steak, fresh ingredients, and no fillers. Next I had their BLT, and side salad. Finished with a few bites of their amazing Banana Cream Cheesecake. I brought the rest of that deliciousness home. It was so much fun chatting with Chef John while he was cooking. This is my good friend's favorite restaurant. We had dinner there last night - and the food was so different. The gnocchi appetizer that I used to rave over - had shredded hard (like processed bag) cheese on it - not melted - cold. After my 1st bite I asked my friend "is this normal? I swear I loved this dish before." She agreed it was very different. The corn fritters were tasteless. And the "molten lava cake" - cold, the inside center like refrigerated frosting. First off, we have been here twice over the last two years and the experiences have been 5 Star+ - one for the pub (dinner) and once upstairs (finer dining). We were very impressed both times and I have had co-workers come here because of my strong recommendations. Today (10/6/23) we came for lunch (which would be in the pub). Three of us. Two of us ordered the soup of the day - chicken chowder. We were completely unimpressed with this dish. Completely bland. In addition, my soup was luke warm, at best. That was $13 completely wasted ($5 cup and $8 bowl). One of us had the basic burger and loved it. Nothing but good words to say. Another had the pulled BBQ pork and was very disappointed that there was no evidence of BBQ at all. They were hoping for the pork (or the sandwich) to be coated in some BBQ sauce. I had the special - a cajun chicken sandwich. It was ok. It supposedly had a siracha aioli on it. Honestly would have no way of knowing that was on it - I didn't taste it. The chicken did have the taste of some cajun spices going on. My biggest complaint - the bun. Man this thing is small and soft (almost like a Wonder bread softness). It really did not enhance the sandwich at all. In fact, to me, it detracted significantly from the sandwich. Odd situation - one from our party asked if there are any substitutions for the fries. Our waitress said the house salad. Our party asked if there is any chance cole slaw could be substituted. Response was no, just the salad. Our party said, how about a cup of soup. Waitress said no, just the house salad. Here is a good mantra to follow as a service person - find the "yes". Our party was more than willing to pay an add on for cole slaw or soup. But, the answer was a firm no. Overall, the waitress was ok. Handled the basics (took order, brought food, checked up on us once and delivered the bill). Nothing more - no chit chat, recommendations or anything. I consider this very basic service that would be expected. To finalize - we would say a great disappointment. Will we return - yes we will! How could you say that??? Because we want to go back and see if this was a fluke situation or if they are just average or average+, with nothing exciting going on. Time will tell! read more

Rough experience here pertaining to the service. I was meeting a friend that I haven't seen in a while - we both drove quite a while to meet in the middle. After our meal, we were finishing up our conversation when one of the waitresses kept banging the empty chairs at the table next to us. It was one of the most bizarre things I have ever experienced. She would bang the chairs and then walk away and then come back a few mins later and do it again while looking at us. I finally realized that was her odd way of trying to get us to leave so they could fill the table we were at. When I alerted my friend, we got up to leave, both the waitress and the manager were snickering at us. It was bizarre and so incredibly rude. read more

What a fun time! My parents live in the area and we were visiting from CT. We used this place as our "last night together" dinner and what a special time it was. We filled up on appetizers and drinks before digging into yummy meals. The food was delicious. I loved that the menu wasn't pages and pages long but there was something for everyone on there. We visited for the "pub section" of the restaurant rather than the fine dining option. It was a lovely spring day and we enjoyed time out on the patio. This is my favorite restaurant in Medina. They have a creative menu, service was pretty good, and the food was excellent. We ate here twice in the time that we were visiting. The chef sent out an amuse bouche of a creamy soup and the presentation of all food was excellent. I loved the chipotle cream mussels. On another occasion I had the Seafood Diablo and my friend had the Delmonico Steak. Again, the food was excellent, and the upscale vibe was good. They also have a pub downstairs with a different menu. My friend had eaten there for lunch one day and didn't care for it, so I never made it down there. We ordered the pan seared chicken off the main menu and the sausage Thyme 2 pizza from the casual menu. Best pizza I have ever had! Crust was light and crispy. My husband's chicken was also very good. I stole bites twice. The chicken came with ratatouille and creamy, buttery mash. Absolutely heavenly. We also had the orange blossom off the drinks menu. We had dinner for the first time here. It was 8pm on a Saturday and there would be a 25 minute wait for a table. We asked if we could order a drink at the bar during our wait. We stood at the bar for about 15 minutes before someone took our order. There were five people behind the bar and no one would make eye contact with us. Two of the people behind the bar were drying wine glasses with a towel. I expected someone to acknowledge us, I understood they were busy. We couldn't get anyone's attention, we felt invisible. A couple finished their meals at the bar and so we decided to take their spots. Again, it was another 15 minutes before someone gave us a menu. I ordered the scallops, they were very delicious, cooked perfectly. My boyfriend ordered a bacon burger, he said it was the saltiest sandwich he had ever eaten and was not a fan. My wife and I went to Thyme2 today and it was excellent. We sat in the bistro on the lower level and it had a great pub atmosphere. We had the smoked tomato bisque soup that was very good. The mixed green salad with feta cheese was very fresh with a wonderful house made vinaigrette dressing w/honey!! The pizzas were excellent - Thin crust with very good consistency and a nice crunch around the edge. We had the Mediterranean and Sausage with red sauce. The servers were pleasant and very attentive. Wow!! So pleased with the level of service and delicious dishes. We ordered the crab cakes and pork tostadas for appetizers which both blew us away. My salmon entree with hush puppies and veggie-noodle garnish was amazing. The salmon had a beautiful crispy skin and the veggies were crisp not mushy. Clean plate club for this girl. The hubs loved his veal: hearty and flavorful. The best part of the whole meal was the pumpkin mousse. Oh my goodness. Have you ever had a meal you'll never forget? I have: in Rome. Seafood Risotto. And now, in Medina, Pumpkin Mousse. Light, fluffy, thick mouthfeel, lightly spiced, garnished with a crunchy toffee brittle. This is the stuff dreams are made of. I wish it was piped into a graham cracker crust pie shell and served by the slice. Or better yet, piped directly into my mouth. We'll definitely be back to try more on the menu. I took the wife here because I heard they had a great bourbon selection and I left very satisfied with the food and service (and they were right about the bourbon selection). The service was amazing. I ordered a pour of old elk and because they were out of it the manager served me Wellers full proof without additional charger. Then the food came out and to my surprise it was top notch. I got the stripe steak with cheesy tots and the wife got the grouper. The food was amazing. The steak pair great with the Wellers. Eirik was our server and he was patient with us as my wife tried to decide what she wanted from her food to the type of wine. The cocktails are original, Sarah our server was the best ever, fun, knowledgeable, professional and just the perfect person to look after you. She redid our cocktails as they were a tad strong for us, advised us on the dishes and was just perfect. Talking about the food... we absolutely LOVED it !!! The blue cheese and pear salads were amazing, the grouper and the striped sea bass were delicious and the crèmes brûlées were just like the ones we had in Paris. We will definitely be back. Stopped by Thyme2 with the family and we visited the downstairs establishment. It was a Friday night, so it was fairly busy, but we were seated within a minute. Our server showed up with water quickly and asked if we wanted anything else to drink. For dinner, I ordered a mushroom burger with a side of veggies. I thought I would steal a couple french fries from my kids too. A little while later, our food was served. We all asked for our burgers to be cooked medium, but mine was rare, my daughters was well done, and my wife's was medium. The burgers were very tasty, nonetheless.
