When you go down Liberty Ave in Bloomfield, you'll see a super long line queued up outside @thymemachinepgh when they're open until they sell out. Naturally I had to go see what all the fuss was about! I was anticipating a long wait in line but luckily it went pretty quickly. Their small menu consisted of six breakfast sandwiches, a few drink options, and donuts that were sadly sold out by the time I got there. I got the Cali Cam breakfast sandwich with bacon, griddled onion, cheddar, green goddess avocado, cherry pepper mayo, and a fried egg on top of a poppy seed bun ($10) along with an earl grey iced tea ($2.50). They have a couple of outdoor tables with seating and we managed to snag one so we could sit down and eat there. That sandwich was 100% worth the wait - it had amazing flavors that all went well together and it really hit the spot. They sold out about an hour or so before closing time so go early!

I was able to snag a couple of their sandwiches before they closed for the winter and it was definitely worth the 20 min wait in line and 20 min wait for food with the wind and rain coming down. The mushroom avocado was so good, it beat their meat option I would say. The vegetarians have a great option here. I can't wait to come back when they open back up!

After picking up some hot beverages at nearby Yinz Coffee to keep ourselves warm while waiting in line, we joined the line by 10:15 on a cool but sunny Sunday mid-October. By the time it was our turn to order, they were already out of one kind of sandwich. Their seasonal donut was a maple pecan and also had a lemon flavor and cinnamon flavored donut holes. I selected the Roasted Mushroom sandwich and the texture of the whole sandwich was perfect. For me, it was the light toasted poppyseed Kaiser roll that makes these breakfast sandwiches melt in your mouth delicious (vs say a bagel, biscuit, or toast). I am definitely willing to wait in line again for one of these breakfast sandwiches if in the Bloomfield neighborhood again.

Be prepared to stand in line for upwards of an hour. We waited for probably an hour and fifteen minutes, but when I tell you it was WORTH IT, I do mean just that. The service was efficient and the staff was kind. The food, man ... this was the literal best breakfast sandwich I've ever had in my life!!! The bacon was high quality, the cheese perfectly melted, the roll perfectly fluffy and the eggs are fried fresh. We tried one of everything on the menu. Highly recommend, don't let the line discourage you.

Waited in line for almost an hour and a half in the hot sun for these sandwiches but genuinely they were so so good I didn't even mind. We got the bacon egg and cheese and the roasted mushroom sandwich, an iced coffee, and 5 donut holes. The bacon egg and cheese is the one I'd go back for. It's savory it's sweet it's salty.. she really has it all. Soft warm roll, thick flavorful bacon, perfectly cooked egg with a jammy yolk, sweet caramelized onions, and the ketchup is the perfect sauce to round it out. The roasted mushroom was very good as well, but the BEC honestly stole the show. The donut holes were very chewy and delicious with a really nice addition of some salt in with the sugar. The sign said they were coconut lime but I'm pretty sure they were just sugared donut holes? Maybe? Either way I was happy to munch on them while we waited for our sammies. Iced coffee was also very good! I want to also comment on the folks working. It was genuinely a terribly hot day and they were all vibing hard and being so friendly and funny. I'm not a breakfast sandwich head by any means but maybe thyme machine converted me? There's not many foods I'd wait an hour for but I would gladly do it again here.

I had heard great things about this pop up breakfast food truck style spot in Bloomfield from several people, and Thyme Machine did not disappoint! It's worth waiting in the inevitable line that they queue up due to their popularity, and the line moves pretty quickly. The breakfast sandwiches were SO good and super filling. The buns are toasted to order, and the eggs were perfectly cooked with melted cheese (provolone for me, American for Ben). I opted to try the mortadella sandwich which came with crispy mortadella, cherry pepper mayo for a little spice, and marinated peppers for some veg. Ben tried the classic BEC, and the spicy ketchup sauce served with it was delicious! In the future, I definitely want to get there earlier to try their broccolini breakfast sandwich (they ran out of broccolini that they source from a local farmer by the time we got there). To drink, I got the blueberry ginger lemonade - so good! Ben got the earl gray iced tea lemonade which was also refreshing. I'm already looking forward to this weekend so we can go back! I have a feeling we're going to be regulars. Food: A Drinks: A- Service: A- Ambiance: A-

I am so glad that I lucked up and found this place. Be far one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have had. This is a well thought out simple and delicious menu. I had the egg and cheese because I don't eat pork and I am trying to find a way back before I leave town. Everything on it worked together. The service was super friendly. They opened at 8 and there was already a line forming. Do not come to Pittsburgh and miss this place. You will regret it.

I am not from Pittsburgh so I didn't realize their breakfast stand is OUTSIDE. I walked right past this morning looking for a brick and mortar. So when you pull up, they are under the tent outside by the sidewalk. On to the food- DOPE! It hit the savory spot i love to quench in the morning. Please do yourself a favor and exit out the Einstein Bagel parking lot bc those sandwiches are NOT it. Drive down a few more blocks to this place. My bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich was perfect. The only thing I would change is to make it bigger bc whewwww its so good! I wanted like 3 more bites. I also couldn't tell if there were drinks. Maybe a pre-made fruity something would be nice to add to the menu? I actually didn't even check so I could be wrong. Lastly, I'll be back next week for, yes, another breakfast sandwich and this time I'll try the donuts too. Well done, friends!

I want to write a love story about the thyme machine. I've been here once because Bloomfield is not my stomping ground, but I feel like the short jaunt up the hill would be worth it on the weekend. Everything I got was incredible. I don't even remember what It was, I just kept saying *mouth full* omy gawd. Can't wait till they get their little place up and running and can get out of their little food cart, however, the food cart vibe is so fun. So rare to see here in Pittsburgh. Go. Get all the sandwiches. And a donut. Thank me later. Happy Eating!

After the farewell of BitterEnds, Thyme Machine has taken over the location and keeps the party going in Bloomfield - they have the best breakfast sandwiches!! I got the broccolini/egg/cheese sandwich the bun is grilled with their cherry pepper mayo, plus griddled onion and, beyond delicious!! Definitely going back to try the other ones, highly recommend it to you all

It took 30 minutes from getting in line to getting my food. The cashier smiled at all the customers and was friendly. There are 4 employees and they work hard! I got the bacon egg and cheese sandwich. It was awesome. The bacon was thick cut and it was full of it. I also tried their mixed berry ginger lemonade. It was great. We also had donut holes. They were ok. The workers were friendly and it was worth the wait! We are visiting in town and nothing is far from where we are in Oakland. Everything is 15 min max away.

The line is worth the wait

My husband and I stopped here because we saw a long line and were intrigued. We waited probably about 30-40 minutes and it was well worth the wait. It was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever had. Unfortunately we devoured them before getting any photos. They packed a punch with flavor and the poppyseed bun was just outstanding. There are some tables setup outside to sit and eat, or you can take it to go. They pass out all sandwiches in a paper bag so it makes it easy. We can't wait to go back here and I promise to get photos this time!

Really cool spot - I wish Pittsburgh had more breakfast pop ups! We went on a Saturday morning and luckily the line wasn't too crazy, plus they move through it pretty efficiently. We got two sandwiches (mushroom and mortadella) as well as donuts and a very refreshing ginger lemonade. The staff are super personable and overall we enjoyed our experience! The sandwiches were both good though the mushroom was definitely our favorite (the green goddess sauce is such a good idea), and the donuts were definitely enjoyed as well!

When we pulled up to the hotel, we parked in an area that the front desk later confirmed was not valet parking and that we were fully permitted to use. Despite this, a man wearing a plain black shirt with no name tag, hotel logo, or other identification immediately approached us and aggressively demanded, "You need to give me your keys now." He never introduced himself, never identified himself as a hotel employee or valet attendant, and never welcomed us to the hotel. Instead, he immediately became confrontational. When I explained that I was not comfortable handing my vehicle keys to an unidentified stranger, he escalated the situation by repeatedly yelling, "Bro, bro, you're not going to disrespect me." We attempted to walk away and continue with check-in, but the harassment did not stop. After checking in, we returned outside to unload our luggage, and he immediately confronted us again. This time, he threatened that if I did not hand over my keys, "there would be consequences." No guest should ever be threatened simply for asking reasonable questions or wanting to verify the identity of someone requesting possession of their vehicle. The front desk staff later confirmed that we had parked in the correct location and acknowledged that this employee's behavior was inappropriate. While I appreciated their honesty, that did not change what had already occurred or the fact that the individual continued to work the front entrance. Unfortunately, the situation only worsened throughout the remainder of our stay. Every time we entered or exited the hotel, this valet employee continued making comments about my group to his coworkers. He would smirk, laugh, and make remarks within earshot of us, often in front of the front desk staff. Rather than feeling welcomed as paying guests, we felt uncomfortable and uneasy every time we walked through the lobby. The hostility that began upon our arrival never truly ended. As an IHG One Rewards Diamond Elite member who spends more than 200 nights each year almost exclusively at IHG properties, I have always chosen IHG because of the professionalism, hospitality, and consistency I have experienced across its brands. Unfortunately, this stay was unlike anything I have ever encountered. In all my years of traveling, I have never felt so disrespected, singled out, isolated, or unwelcome at a hotel. IHG promotes its hotels as places where every guest should feel safe, respected, and valued. That was not my experience at this property. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, I felt that our concerns were dismissed, and the behavior of this employee created an environment where we no longer felt comfortable. This was, without question, the worst hotel experience I have ever had. It has caused me to seriously reconsider my loyalty to IHG after spending hundreds of nights each year with the brand. I hope hotel management and IHG Corporate conduct a thorough investigation into this incident, address the conduct of the employee involved, and ensure that no future guest has to experience the same treatment we did.

He was courteous, well spoken and friendly. We sat there for about 10-12 minutes. No one approached the table. We looked over to what appeared to be a bar area and we saw two servers standing there talking and showing each other their phones. My wife said, "With our luck, one of those two is our server." Sure enough, when they were finally done talking, one came over to our table....no smile and a big audible sigh. She asked what we wanted to drink, we gave our order and she returned with our beverages. After another 10 minute wait she came back to take our order. When asked about a certain dish, came another big sigh, eye roll and and a rote description of said dish. The food arrived and one of the orders was wrong. Another wait to get her attention. We asked for the item to be redone as we had ordered it. And she even asked how we wanted it! You got it...another eye roll and a big sigh. At least she was well oxygenated! The dish came back with the very same results. On that issue we gave up. Then came the wait for the check. Once again the two servers were chatting, no heads turned to check on their tables. My son went over to get the check. When the check arrived, it was attitude city. She accused us of picking on her because she was only a server. It's obviously how she saw herself. We then asked for the manager who was quick to side with the server. She said that nothing seemed to satisfy us and that we had a problem. IN SHARP CONTRAST. I have been to the Speckled Egg on the South Side many times. From the Host/Hostess to the servers to the bus staff, everyone had a smile, chatted with their customers, laughed and it was always a great experience. The manager came over since he recognized me from being there many times and we chatted for a minute. We are talking Night and Day. Completely two different experiences from server to management styles. To me there is only one Speckled Egg and one complete waste of time (Downtown).
