Actually blown away. My friends and I cane here for dinner and they bought tacos while I bought a…read morejunior burrito which came with some chips and salsa on the side. I asked the cashier what her favourite protein was and she said it was the chorizo so I got that. The burrito came in a flour tortilla, red rice, chipotle cream, mozzarella, lettuce, and pinto beans and it was absolutely delicious. Everything just worked so well together. Service was very lovely as well. Although it's a takeout restaurant, if you dine in, they put on a silver tray and serve it to you. There's a couple of dine in seats. Will totally return to have another burrito.

Serving a variety of plant based tacos, burritos, quesabirrias, as well as sharable items (think impossible nachos, guac and chips, quesadilla...), there is something for everyone even if you are a meat eater. They also have lunch specials you can take advantage of as well. This location is primarily take out only although they do have a few tables indoors and patio tables outside. I stopped by Taqueria Vegana on a weekday for lunch. There were already some customers waiting for their food but otherwise the place was not busy. I ordered a trio of tacos as well as a hibiscus Zamalek drink (from Montreal!). For the tacos I ordered: - Impossible chorizo (house-made impossible meat chorizo, charred onion, and potatoes) - Carne Asada (charred and perfectly seasoned texturized soy protein) - Seitan carnitas (braised seitan garnished with red pickled onion) The tacos came with 2 salsas and some limes as well. Staff were friendly and I ordered my tacos at the counter. I decided to eat on the patio and my food was made at a reasonable time (about 5 min wait). Staff brought out my food for me as well. Tacos wise, I enjoyed all the ones I ordered, however, my favourite was the impossible chorizo tacos. The salsas were spicy and flavourful as well. Overall, great new addition to the Junction Triangle. Definitely would return if I wanted some plant-based Mexican food!

We asked for a simple dietary consideration and it was totally ignored. When we brought it to their attention, the chef just shrugged his shoulders and said it was a mis-communication. There was no attempt to make it up to us or try to make us feel better. They just did not care. We ended up paying for food that we could not eat. We will never go back.

There's paid street parking on both sides of the street. I did read a review that there's complimentary parking behind the restaurant though. Mai Bistro has a small patio out front that's covered and indoor seating as well. We opted to sit on the patio. Since it was our first time at the restaurant the waitress explained the various menus to us. There was a written menu for Today's Specials and some of them were crossed out. I'm guessing that those items have already sold out. I saw a photo of the menu from a couple of years ago and in comparing with the menu from the other day I can see that prices have increased for some dishes. To me, prices veer on the higher side. The grilled lemongrass pork with rice and asian slaw was $22 and the shrimp ceviche with fresh salsa and avocado on a crispy tortilla was $11. My Vietnamese style pork tacos were a good deal for $10. Even at the regular price of $14 the price isn't too different from tacos at other restaurants. The pork was flavourful and portions are like what I found from food trucks in LA (but leave you wanting more).

We stopped by this restaurant over the weekend and had a really good experience…read more Upon entering the restaurant you'll notice it's really small and cozy. Once inside the owners take incredible care of you with a wonderfully positive attitude and lots of chit chat and care. We both ordered the special, which was cashew chicken with rice noodles. We both really enjoyed this dish. The portion size was really large and it probably was enough for two meals but we finished it all because it was so good. My husband ordered the spring rolls with his combo and he said they were really good. Since I'm both gluten and lactose intolerant, I couldn't order the spring rolls but I was served a delicious side salad with a heavenly lemon vinaigrette. The salad dressing was so good I wish I could have bought a bottle to take home. lol Would we return? Absolutely!

The only thing is the mains were being served as individual combos vs sharing plates but we were fine with this. When we arrived there were only 2 tables left....one reserved for us and the other for another family. There was a line up outside for take out. After speaking to the people in line we found they were regulars and came often. One said the butter chicken was awesome, "like Christmas in your mouth":)) We had our Covid tests and I'd checked and then were seated. Hubby had the mango lassi and laziz chicken with rice and naan. He thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the yellow curry with rice and Thai garden salad. The salad had a nice homemade dressing that was sweet and refreshing. The curry was tasty and veggies cooked well. Nim, the owner, said her husband is the chef and her 2 daughters help out. They have had the restaurant for 15 years. Very lovely family. The only dessert is mango ice cream made by the chef but it is dairy based so we didn't have any. Excited to go back to try various items off their Indian and Thai menu.
