    Cinnamon toast smoothie
    Shaili B.

We found raw aura through Yelp and google reviews. We knew we wanted to eat something healthy and in the Port Arthur area and found Raw Aura a raw vegan healthy place! We arrived around 12 on a Thursday- heads up we didn't park on the street, we parked at the library nearby and walked. When we arrived we were greeted and sat outside since the weather was so nice. When we sat we checked out the menu- me and my husband decided to get two different things so we could split it and share- he got the cauliflower taco and I got the burrito. We also got two smoothies - I got the chocolate almond butter smoothie which was really good- you could tell it was healthier or without any sugar but felt healthy! The burrito was good! For raw food it was pretty good! They had a small salad next to it and the sauce they used complimented it well- I will say once I ate half of it I thought If I kept eating it would be too much. The cauliflower tacos were pretty good! They had kelp noodles and the sauce was also good. One huge thing to note was when the smoothies came so did the bees, there were so many bees to the point where we couldn't enjoy our drinks and meal bc they would sit on our food. They did apologize but we decided to finish eating fast and take our smoothies to go then leave. Overall- if I lived in the area I would definitely be back and try some of their other food but since I don't live near so I probably will not be back. If you're in the area check this place out but be aware of the bees!

    Falafel wrap

Finally came here again after many many years (maybe four?) - and was quite pleasantly surprised! My friend and I shared the falafel wrap as well as the pad thai, ending with a blueberry cashew cheesecake. I thoroughly enjoyed the falafel wrap; it felt substantial and filling, and yet had many interesting flavours and textures from the sprouted chickpeas, hummus, and tzatziki. We both weren't expecting much, but agreed that it ended up being one of the better options we got. The pad thai, on the other hand, was slightly more disappointing. I would dare say that the noodles at Raw Aura are less impressive, perhaps because the zucchini noodles end up being soggy. I would much prefer if this dish were made with all kelp noodles. The "pad Thai" sauce was also quite off - I found it too sweet. The cheesecake was a wonderful way to finish off the meal! It felt super rich, and still retained much of the creamy texture not unlike real cream cheese. I loved the streak of sauce along the bottom, which added a lovely pop of flavour and sweetness. Definitely would be down to come again, particularly with the nicer weather and patio seating! Would definitely come back for the wrap, mmmm.

Sour Cream & Onion Kale Chips (8/10)

Wow. We were super impressed. If anyone is in doubt that gluten-free and vegan food can taste great, they need to pay a visit to Raw Aura. We had the Sour Cream & Onion Kale Chips (8/10) Yellow Coconut Curry Noodles (9.5/10), Falafel Wrap (9/10). We also ordered the Cinnamon Toast Crunch smoothie as a dessert which we actually weren't too impressed with. Was a lot less sweet than we thought it would be (I think they might have missed putting in the banana). When the waitress asked what we thought, I was honest about it and she ended up making us another one, and this time around you could taste the banana, which definitely made it better (6.5/10), though still nothing special.

Service was unpleasant. I called prior to see if I could make a reservation and the individual on the line was flat out rude. They told me that there would only be walk-in patio dining available for the rest of the night and that I couldn't make a reservation. When we arrived we had to awkwardly wait to be approached by the waitress who told us that they had no seating available. ( there were two open tables? ) Two men that had come after us just sat down at both the tables. We wanted to leave at this point but I've read the yelp reviews- and they all rave about this place so I wanted to personally see what all this hype was for. I asked the server how long the wait would be and she told me about 30-40 minutes. She added my name to the list and we walked around the area for a bit- after 40 minutes we still had received no call. We walked back over to now see two open tables... and the server greeted us by saying "I was just thinking about you guys!"... probably just to cover the fact that they run their restaurant in a disorganized manner. Food came out quickly but it was not what we expected. Cold pasta honestly did not appeal to me. The food tasted flavourful but it would have been so much better if they just used vegan noodles instead of literal spiralled zucchini- overall it was just too much

I came here the other night and had a really good experience. Everything was gluten and dairy free, which made me super happy. The waitress was really nice and the menu was quite extensive. We ordered the chocolate mint ganache cake and the almond butter cups. By the time our food came I wasn't feeling the best but I still tried the desserts. I really enjoyed my cake. The chocolate topping was a little too rich but once I removed some of it I really enjoyed the cake. It had a nice texture and the base was made out of walnuts and dates. It was a nice light sweet treat. My friend's almond butter cups were a bit too sweet for me but they were still good. I can imagine I would like them more if my stomach wasn't hurting. I would definitely love to come back to try their dinner menu. They also have an extensive tea menu with 12 different varieties.

Truly awesome experience here discovering what is raw food! A probably not-so-hidden gem in Port Credit and it showed as the restaurant can seat about 20 at most. We were lucky to be able to secure a table for two while noticing that other people had to be turned away/put on the waiting list. I've never really had well put-together raw food before so this was such an awesome find to learn more about this food philosophy. The chef and kitchen team work in an open kitchen that is just behind the counter. You can see everything they are doing and were happy to answer any of our questions directly. We browsed the menu extensively trying to get a feel for all the different items offered. Prices for appetizers and mains average $15 which I find very reasonable. We were finally able to settle on a few items after getting recommendations from the chef and server. 1. Ravioli - thin slices of raw red beet with cashew ricotta cheese between the slices with red pepper marinara and kale chip crumble on top. The chef said it was one of the popular items and we could see why. The earthy taste of the beets with the smooth cashew butter and red pepper marinara just build on each other. 2. Miso Me Please - a generous portion of miso soup, sans the dash (fish) stock, but with a blend of red and white miso. There was kale, kelp noodles, and nori to give some substance to the soup. For myself, I wish there were more kelp noodles because they were delicious but the soup itself was really filling and sustaining. It tasted just like a miso soup you would find at a Japanese restaurant but the kale and kelp noodles enhanced it more. I think if they were to incorporate some tofu then that would be the perfect dish for me. 3. My friend had the sweet and sour noodles after agonizing over all the delicious choices. The server said it was a crowd-pleaser and a great introductory dish into the world of raw cuisine. The base of zucchini and kelp noodles served well to soak up the really addicting almond butter and apple cider sauce. The addition of red peppers, red onions, and romaine gave the dish some crunchiness too. We didn't leave anything left on the plate. We were too full for dessert but their selection looked very very extensive. All told, we were very impressed by the food here. The service is super friendly and casual. It's a small independent place so reservations would be recommended.

    Very refreshing creamsicle smoothie
    Denise P.

We loved everything we tried today, it was totally worth the 1 hour drive to get there! We had the taco salad, yellow curry zucchini noodles, carrot cake and a creamsicle smoothie. The taco salad was flavorful, and the creamsicle very fragrant and refreshing. I was particularly impressed with the curry noodles. My husband thought it came with too much sauce but I loved it. The zucchini was freshly spiraled so it was firm enough and did not get soggy. The sauce was creamy, mildly spicy and had a very distinctive flavor. The raw carrot cake (which tasted more like a raw vegan cheesecake) was also very unique, it contains ginger which gave for cake a very unique taste. We were also happy with the service. Our server was knowledgeable and patient, she came by half a dozen times to refill our water; our glasses were always full. It was an overall lovely meal, I cant wait to vsit again to sample other items on their menu.

I took my partner here yesterday evening for a dinner date. I was so happy I found this place because there aren't that many raw vegan food restaurants around. I made a reservation by phone and upon arriving they sat us immediately. Jessica, our waitress was kind enough to let us switch to the patio on a beautiful sunny evening. From already peaking at their menu, I had an idea of what I wanted. Everything seemed so good I wish I could've tried it all. I ordered: the kale chips (sour cream and onion or cheddar were the options) we went for the first. Not bad! I wish they had an original flavour seasoned with salt and lemon. Regardless it was nice a touch to the miso soup I had ordered for my main. Nice and crispy to add texture :) and full of flavour I also ordered: the beet ravioli to start with. This was by far the most delicious thing ever! I can't wait to go back and order it again. Everything was fresh, the flavours complimented each other and it was nice to have a pasta dish without the gluten! For our mains my partner ordered the Olive Tapenade Pasta dish. I ordered the half portion of miso soup (mostly because my stomach wasn't feeling well and I didn't want to skip out on trying Raw Aura) We both usually offer the other to try the dishes we ordered but you know we were enjoying our food too much because it slipped our mind completely! I'm just happy that our plates were licked clean at the end! It was getting chilly, and it was starting to get busy. So we got dessert to go. I ordered the carrot cheesecake and my partner got the chocolate banana cake. The carrot cake was a bit disappointing because the carrot got got completely lost in the cinnamon and spices used. It tasted more like pumpkin and I couldn't finish it all because it was irritating my throat. The spices were overpowering, so I just picked at the "cream cheese filling" which was delicious! The chocolate banana cake was delicious, very rich but delicious! Jessica was so sweet enough to pop in two of the almond butter cups in our dessert take out as well! This was super sweet of her. They were rich, fresh and tasted better than the sugary crap you find in the stores! We will definitely be back to try other things on the menu!

    Pad Thai

Damn this place is good! Would give 6 STARS if I could! My sister and I came to this restaurant on a weekday for dinner. The restaurant is small, cozy, and cute.  Many tables were taken, but we were able to grab one on the patio. Would recommend making a reservation if your party is large, and probably a good idea on the weekend. I found the menu to have a good amount of variety.  The waitress informed us all food is served cold since the restaurant has a raw menu. The only warm dish is the miso soup. As per the recommendation of our waitress, we both ordered the Pad Thai. HOLY MOLY WAS IT GOOD! I highly recommend this dish! I really enjoyed the combination of the zucchini and kelp noodles, crunchy almonds, and the sauce. For dessert, we ordered one slice of each of the Banana Chocolate Cake and Blueberry Cheesecake. Both were delicious! A carnivore would have a hard time believing they are vegan. I preferred the Blueberry Cheesecake over the Banana Chocolate Cake. OVERALL: HIGHLY impressed with this restaurant! Anything raw and/or vegan is my jam, and this is definitely on the top of places I have been around Toronto. Looking forward to coming back to explore more of the menu.

Food here is fesh, beautifully presented, and flavourful. The decor is really nice too - the table was a section of tree trunk! Had the kale chips, burstin burrito, and yellow curry zucchini noodles. Service was efficient and food came out quickly. Price point is a bit on the higher end for lunch. The bowl of kale chips were quite sizeable, and super tasty (cheesy flavour). They had just the right amount of crisp. Considering the price of a bag of kale chips in supermarkets/health food stores, I thought the kale chips at raw aura were reasonably priced for the quantity and quality ($8). The burrito was delicious - fresh and balanced. As for the zucchini noodles, I actually wasn't a big fan of the yellow curry sauce, but otherwise found the noodles and other ingredients to be good. Next time I'd want to try the bolognese or pad thai.

Pasta Bolognese. THE BEST! Order it now!!

When I hear raw foods, I think ice cream or a smoothie. I'm more a junk food vegan and avoid the whole raw food movement. I know raw is the way to go for our health and such, but I've had bad experiences with it. While searching "vegan" around the GTA, Raw Aura came up and unfortunately ignored it. Damn, I admit it, I'm so stupid for not trying this place sooner. I read stellar reviews from carnivores, if carnivores are giving this place 5 stars, I have no excuse but to give them a try. MIND BLOWN! Many suggested the pasta bolongnese and the Cinnamon Toast Crunch and they were not lying. I couldn't believe what I was eating. This has to be the best pasta I've had. I know that's a serious statement but you cannot go wrong with a sustainable, cruelty free, quality meal. I'll definitely be back to try more. Go green!

Veggie Paradise specialises in Veg take-out (call ahead), Frozen/Dried meals and ingredients. I write "Veg" 'cause it may be even Vegan, as opposed to just Vegetarian. They also do custom vegan/vegetarian cakes/pastries. This place is run by 2 sisters and their workers. As soon as Sandra heard that I wanted something to eat, she prepped me with an Asian meal - as opposed to their other meals that are more popular amongst gwai-lo. Meal comprised of a soup (looked like Tom Yum, but not sweet/spicy), a separate plate with Rice, Bok Choy (chopped with garlic), & a portion of fermented Mustard Greens with Green Peas (this was medium spicy). The meal was tasty, yet rather homey as it wasn't overly salted. I really felt like I was eating at an aunt's house! This place is located in a rather industrial, catering to Vegans/Vegetarians (or people who just enjoy the occasional veg meal), so just call ahead if you want to order something! The sisters will even offer you a sample if it's available. :)

Well, at first I was a bit on the fence about ordering cause of the vegetarian/vegan menu, I like my meat, love meat, got to have my protein dammit! But wow! was I ever surprised and happy about following my gut and choosing to go there. You see, I'm from Vancouver, and if you know a bit about my hometown is that you know we have a very large asian population. Heck, I'd even go as far as saying it's my second language, (my first language is English and my parents are Chilean...never spoken a word of it) but I've been around it so much somehow, I feel I could get by given the chance. So, by examining the pictures from the online menu, I thought to myself; If the food is anything remotely like the pictures, it looks exactly like my fav spot in Vancouver - Congee Noodle King- also a must try if you're in east Vancouver. Just trust my absent Asian ancestry ok?! I ordered the N65. Fried Noodles with Steamed and Stir-Fried Bean Curd, and as a request asked them to make it spicy to which they happily and kindly obliged. This dish was packed with flavour. Oh em gee! Loaded with fresh crunchy veggies, the noodles were spot on: thin, velvety and a lot of them. Makes for some healthy slurps! Oh, did I mention the meat? No, I didn't, because it didn't have any, and I have never not missed something so much. The crispy fried bean curds tasted like deep fried spare ribs. My pupils dilated a bit. And that's ok cause I went into a food coma, got to heaven and wrote a review about the very first Asian restaurant I try in Toronto and I'm already planning to go back. If you give this place less than 5 stars you don't know food, Asian food or how to speak it so go on and chew on some meat! Thank you for the wonderful and friendly service as well. I shall return. How do you say that in Mandarin? Cheers! - Patricio
