We landed in Mississauga and were famished so we found Turtle Jack's which looked promising. Even as hungry as we were, the food left a lot to be desired. I ordered the fajitas which were solid, not great. My fiancée ordered the vegetarian kung pao bowl and didn't eat very much because the sauce was so salty. This review is getting a 3 because they were very gracious and took my fiancées order off of the check and gave us a free dessert. We really appreciated the great service! read more

Restaurant was warm and inviting and decorated for the holidays. Server was attentive. Restaurant was clean. Only negative I saw was one of the stalls in the ladies bathroom was missing a lock, otherwise this was an upscale looking restaurant. The French Onion Soup was flavourful, warm and rich. I asked the server what she preferred between the Basa and the Salmon. She recommended the Basa and it did not disappoint! I also had a cocktail from the menu and Sticky Toffee Pudding for Dessert. I had some pretty high expectations for my visit at this restaurant. Mainly because my experience at the TJs near my house had really good quality food. To start off, the hostess did the normal COVID screening procedures. They make you show your vaccination status and then fill out an online form for contact tracing. We got seated with our menus me and my friend already had an idea of what we wanted to order. The thing was, it took our server ~20 minutes to even come to us and ask us what drinks we wanted. We just went with water and he said that he would come back and take our orders once he brings the drinks. Okay, so then another 15 minutes pass and he then comes with the water and takes our order. But just imagine waiting almost 40 minutes to get an order taken. So our food comes. I went with the ribs while my friend went with the blackened basa. The ribs weren't the best - just keep in mind I had a bar set from the other TJs I've been to. It was a bit tough and a little burnt in my opinion. But still had that nice BBQ taste, and I'd say the sides were good as well. The blackened basa was better. I think it's seasoned nicely and cooked very well - even has a nice hot "kick" to it. So throughout our whole meal, I'm out of water and you can guess, our server didn't come to us once. So I'd say the service part of this visit was not good at all. It was busier than usual so I guess that was the reason, but I thought that they would still be aware. Overall I'll just say this visit was OK. read more

Only thing that's worth 3+ stars is the building and the decor Food: It was mediocre. I got Chicken Fajitas and I received a skillet of everything that would be IN a Chicken Fajita...minus the tortilla and the chicken tasted a bit raw. My brother ordered a medium-rare steak and got basically a Blue Steak. Mom got beef nachos and it looked like the beef was from Taco Bell, not Alberta. Drinks: My mom and I ordered mixed drinks which were...okay (she got a Long Island and I got a Apple Island. Her's tasted like sour mix and mine tasted like Apple Juice, couldn't taste the liquor even after a double shot). Service: Our server didn't write down our orders which threw me off a little but whatever (we also waited 20 minutes for the bill after the last person got done eating, I timed it ) Currently waiting to go to an urgent care to see if I have Salmonella poisoning because I haven't felt good since I ate here. I, my brother and sister went to check out this Turtle Jack's restaurant. I never have eaten here before so I wasn't sure what to expect nor what their main specials were. Walking in, we were greeted very kindly, and right away with no wait time on seats. The interior was quite nice. Nothing where it was required to wear something fancy an all, but when I was there, people were in business casual - casual. Our waiter came by after 10 mins to take our order. Once we decided on what to get, he made a suggestion for our dessert to get this option as this was the most popular. But we opted out of the dessert in the end. The main dish was amazingly done! I ordered the french onion burger with sweet potatoes fries. The presentation was very nice! Nothing crazy but compared to other restaurants. This was the nicest I've seen. Everything was hot and fresh, onions were cooked just right! Honestly, nothing to complain about the food. Also, the price in total wasn't too bad for what we all got. It was my first time coming to this Turtle Jacks location. Came for a friends birthday on a Sunday night. The place wasn't very busy we were able to get a table right away. For starters we order bruschetta. It was alright nothing special. Thought it was a bit soggy. For my main I ordered the blackened chicken and goat cheese. Usually when I order chicken at a restaurant it's bland not flavourful. But the chicken was really good not dry at all. It had a green sauce on it that was really good. The chicken came with a side of brown rice and vegetables. It was a tasty and healthy meal. For dessert we got the brownie. It was delicious! Definitely one of the best I've had. The brownie was mosit and soft just as a brownie should be. It was served warm with ice cream, whip cream, chocolate and caramel sauce on top. Will definitely be returning to get the brownie again. read more

Hi Yelpers! I'm back! So my friends and I decided to come here for our yearly get together. The restaurant has a really nice welcoming homey ambience. We were there early so there wasn't too much volume of customers. We were seated promptly and serviced quickly. I got a lovely looking pineapple mango salmon with coconut rice and vegetables. I was expecting a pineapple and mango infused salmon but it ended up being diced pineapple and mango with other veggies over a grilled salmon. It wasn't out of this world delicious as it tasted normal. The coconut rice wasn't strong enough for me... it's like steamed rice with a little bit of coconut milk. The portion was appropriate to the price you pay. Would I return again? Mmm. Maybe not but unless someone suggests it. read more

We have been ordering from this turtle jacks location (Erin MillsTwn Cntre) for years. We supported them through Covid. We ordered some roaster wings last time and they came small. So my husband called to get the correct order and they said they didn't have drivers available to bring it and we would have to wait. So we waited an hour at which point my husband took the order back himself. The manager, Drew was very uncooperative and would not give us a new order. My husband left the $40 order on the bar, and asked that the owner call. We never got our money back and the owner Jaspal never called even though we tried calling a second time. I have had many girls nights there. We will no longer order from them and no more in person dining. I guess we will never see our money again. Very poor customer service! read more

Great atmosphere and the staff is friendly. Parking is tough to find on a Saturday night, you might find some spots behind the theatre. I really liked their nachos with chicken and guacamole, they had a layer of cheese sauce drizzled aside from the regular cheese toppings. The main part of my meal was the 10 piece Roasters (regular/naked) wings which comes with celery and carrots and a blue cheese or ranch dipping sauce.... I got 5 wings tossed in Red Chilli Thai and 5 wings tossed in Baton Rouge. My all time favourite was the Baton Rouge though; it's a mixture of sweet and spicy and a must try! read more

March 19, 2019 Had a steak at Turtle Jacks in Mississauga Ontario Canada. This is the second steak I have had in two days from two different Mississauga restaurants. Hopefully one or two of you can answer my question. I ordered the steak cooked at medium rare. From both restaurants, the steak was cook at medium. In Canada, do they always over cook their steaks? Just wondering. In the states, its always cook to the temp I order. The steak was a bit tough for the last 3 bites but the waitress, "Margarita" took 25% of the price of the meal which softened the blow. The Caesar salad and loaded baker were great and so was her service. Turtle Jacks is better known for their burgers and wings and I might give them a try before I jet off to next week's adventure. Parking may be a bit tough due to they share a parking lot with a movie theater. March 20, 2019 ** Update ** Hold the phone, shut the door, sweet sassy molassie. I just had my best meal of this year. I went back to Turtle Jacks and got the Turtle wings and ribs. Now I have eaten my share of wings and hands down, these are the best wings I have ever had. Margarita told me they use a unique buttermilk mix for the wings and it sure tastes terrific! I also got the fall of the bone ribs with the Forty Creek sauce. I thought it strange the ribs were not sliced but all I had to do was grab one and with a very slight tug, wa-la, it separated from the rack. They were moist, tasty and ultra outstanding! As usual, Margarita was a joy to have as a server and she rocks the place. My only disappointment is Turtle Jacks is not in Denver, Colorado. If they were, they would dominate and see me way too much. If you have a chance, check them out. read more

It sounds like a family restaurant and it is but my VP invited the team here for a meal and drinks and raved about the women. I guess the waitresses are indeed well put together. So how was the food? Well, it was fine, but on the bland side. It seems like all the menus of these chains have one Indian dish, one Mexican dish and the usual array of salads and burgers. I had a fajita and was fine with it. there was barely any spice or kick, but you know what? It was fine. Came here yesterday evening for drinks with a few girls & immediately situated myself into one of the 2 luxurious outdoor patio sets by a stone wall centre. There's only 2 sets while the rest are basic plastic types of tables/chairs. The bistro rattan sets seat about 5 people with lots of leg room and a small middle table for a few drinks and 2 apps (max) The place was packed by 9:30pm and even with just one waitress, the drinks and apps flowed in on good timing. we had a "scooner" of Miller (sp?). Which is basically 2 pints in a mug that looks like it was stolen from the giant living up in Jack's beanstalk. Seriously. My wrist could barely hold it up without my other hand supporting the bottom. 2 Canadians (bottle) 2 ice teas 1 MDG (bottle) for yours truly guacamole app Greek salad and blackened chicken flat bread bruschetta total came to : $68.00 between 6 people. Everyone was relaxed and it was a typical summer evening with everyone thinking the same thing. I've eaten at this TJ's a few times now while in the area for work and I really can't tell the difference between it and Moxie's. Even the menu items are almost identical. Anyway, I stick with the Thai Salad which is full of crunchy, tasty veggies - definitely overpriced at $14, but what can you do? Service is fast and friendly at lunch, though they really push alcohol - who has drinks with lunch? And are you hiring? Not bad - not great, but it'll do. read more

Went here with a group, and right away I was greeted warmly by the hosts. I found my table that I was joining and the waitress asked me if I wanted anything to drink. I just wanted cranberry juice. It was given to me promptly and I gotta say from start to finish, it was an awesome experience. Once worked in the industry, I can understand the stress dealing with a table and having people move from their seats. But she handled us with professionalism and managed to keep our orders organized and totaled correctly. Kudos to her seriously. We had to move to the bar because our section was reserved for another Reservation coming up...which was fine. When we got to the bar we began eating again and ordering drinks again. Our server was a Asian woman, I think her name was Victoria? (I could be wrong) but she did amazing. She knew when to come and ask if we were okay, wanted refills, etc. She wasn't harassing nor, barely present. She was a perfect. She even talked to my friends & I and was courteous to us. I'm actually giving Turtle Jack's a 1.5/5, not a 1/5. My sister really wanted to go out for dinner last night so she suggested that we could go to Turtle Jack's. She had a good experience last time so what could go wrong this time, right? We arrived at 6:30 pm and the place was quite busy. All of the booths were taken so we decided to just sit at a table for 4 instead of waiting. That was a smart move for both of us, you'll find out why later. The hostess and our server were nice and friendly...and that's the only good thing I can remember about our dining experience. My sister ordered the shrimp and scallop pasta while I ordered a small order of honey garlic wings. It took over 30 minutes for our food to arrive and we were starving by the time the food arrived. Both of our dishes were just warm and didn't seem so fresh. My sister's pasta tasted pretty basic and plain. She said it tastes like Walmart's Great Value frozen entree and that Michelina's frozen entree's taste better. The chicken wings I had were VERY tiny, it must've came from a baby chicken. I felt kind of bad eating it too. The skin was crunchy and the flavouring was alright but the meat wasn't hot and a bit dry. This location of Turtle Jack's doesn't pay it's employees that are not on direct deposit payroll, if you need a cheque the GM doesn't have the time or the energy to write it out, it's been a month, some even a few months since they've been paid and several people are currently working for essentially free. I've given them a week to respond to emails and the payments still haven't been received for any of the employees who are not under direct deposit. Arrived for lunch as it was a coworkers birthday! Sat in the bar area. Got busy after 12pm for lunch rush. There was two servers in the section that managed it very well. Very efficient and prompt. Friendly front staff and attentive when servers are busy. Ordered the avacado burger. Our food came in an average time. We ordered the burger, fish tacos and, wing in a bun (something like that lol) the tacos were very generous serving and the wings on a bun looked very good (def gonna try it next time)! The burger was cooked and dressed well. Great service for lunch! I like this location better than the Brampton location. Much more attentive service and decent food cooked better ! Turtle Jack's seems to be a wholly Mississauga Phenomenon that caters to anyone looking for an alternative to the Casey's/Kelsey's monotony that can be available around Toronto. They have recently updated their menu but what many coworkers and I go there for has always been the big wing sandwich. Its literally a...big...wing....sandwich. Think wings, think a sauce of your choice (almost all are good...not very hot), forget the bones, and put that crispy chicken between two pieces of bread...and you've got an excuse for a sandwich. I'm a huge fan of wings so this is a great option when you don't want the mess but you want all the wing experience. Their wings are unique too with a ton of options...roaster or fryer, dusted or regular, this sauce or that sauce (again for the hot lovers, the hot here is mild to medium anywhere else). And lastly a neat new option, Barbie (barbecued extra to give it more of a barbecue flavour) or convected, to give it an oven flavour. I'm a big fan of the Barbie. Food - Never had push back from anyone I've gone there with on bad food, just not great (minus the Big Wing Sandwich). Beer - Last time I went I believe they had Stella which is always nice after a long day at work or after some meetings. Service - They have really tried to upscale (read Kelsey's /Moxies type) their service and decor to cater to more of the business clientele especially during Lunch times. However, it isn't dazzling.. Loyalty Program - while never offered I understand they have a loyalty program where you get points for $$s spent, but get back $$s after you reach a certain points amount. I'll probably stick to collecting aeroplan points and avoid having an extra card to carry around but a neat option to consider if you fall in love with the place (or take customers/team members out for food....a lot). Wonder if it actual increases loyalty... Overall, not a bad experience. The food is pretty decent - I had the bison meatloaf. I still root for the meatloaf at Pickle Barrel. My friend had the chicken strips; it's a winner. Who is Jack and why does a turtle own a restaurant? And I guess this turtle hails from Muskoka area... It's what you expect for a chain restaurant. Burgers are good, sandwiches are good salads are good but small for the price. Overall, it's not a place you go to for fine dining, it's a casual place with casual plates. I wouldn't be ordering salmon or steak here for fear they might mess it up...especially with the $30.00 + price tag on it. And that's why I'm knocking off two stars because I do find the prices a bit high for what it is. And no, it doesn't feel like Muskoka in there, and no, I didn't see any turtles. read more

I had another good meal here with good service. As I seated in the bar area, the waitress asked for my drink order. When my friend arrived, I ordered the quinoa and arugula salad with steak. It had a mix of red and white quinoa, arugula, soy beans, green beans, crumbled goat cheese, and the steak was cooked to perfection. I asked for medium rare and that's exactly what I got. Even my friend had to have a bite. It was all delicious. The waitress did check up on us a few appropriate times. When we first got here (party of three) at 3:30 in the afternoon there wasn't a host present at the door so we ended up seating ourselves which worked out fine but was confusing as we weren't sure we're we should sit... Thankfully our server was a pleasure. She was very friendly, attentive and she got our orders 100% right. Our food came really quick and overall we were all really pleased with the service. Our only real issues were the portion sizes. Personally If I order a 15 dollar salad I really do expect it to be impressive where in reality it was about the size of a half size salad at Wendy's. I ordered the southwest salad without the guac (I know, I'm one of those anti guac people) and it was a really tasty salad don't get me wrong. It was just the size that really turned me off. I also thought it was weird how cold the whole dish was - I figured the beans/chicken would be hot. Someone else in our party ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich (not sure of menu name) with fries and again the portion of fries was rather small especially for the price. The food was excellent but the service was incredibly slow. Incredibly slow and poor. We waited 10 minutes for a glass of water, which I finally got myself from the bar. We waited 43 minutes for a soup. We waited 53 minutes for wings. We had a 3 year old with us. Awful experience. The manager came out towards 50 minute mark apologizing passively and advising that the bill will be compensated a "healthy" discount - we received 15% off, merely tax. The experience made us feel unimportant and unwelcome. Too bad out of the party of 7 - 5 were from Chicago. Would never bring anyone here again.
