I always compare Fresh to the bar and grills and find that Fresh's menu is not only so versatile, tasty, but there are so many healthy options and the food tastes fresh, not something just warmed up from the freezer. I came here tonight with my wonderful friend and I got their daily soup which was tomato and pesto with white beans (large) with a side of pita and salad with their tahini ginger sauce. Honestly, it was exactly what I needed during this respiratory season. The soup was actually so good and filling. I came here pretty hungry and left feeling very satisfied. I have had so many errors I the past year, including food that I was allergic to sent to me. The portions have dwindled, and I just found out that these folks who are committed to sustainability and quality put GMO canola in every single soup and every salad dressing except 3 (which contain soy). They also deep fry in canola oil. There are more processed items like beyond burger, JustEgg, Daiya-style cheese now, and more wheat in many new dishes. They also use Redpath sugar which has GMOs and is refined. This is just not healthy anymore. The juices are still organic + good, but expensive compared to others like Village Juicery. The food is vegan, but no health-conscious person could call any of "healthy". It's a real shame they're focusing on expansion instead of quality. read more

There are so many different branches and locations in Toronto scattered all over the city, so it makes it easy to get the same quality food and menu at all different spots. This is truly exceptional place to dine. These locations have really been increasing their overall experience from casual to a more date night spot. I remember a few years ago when you were to order wine it will come in a plastic cup. They now have a variety of cocktails, juices, smoothies, and all and nice glasses. This newest Fresh location is their biggest and most beautiful. Service is friendly, and food is great, healthy, uses fresh ingredients, and in subtantial portions as usual. They allow customizations in any dish you order, so you can add, take out, or substitute any ingredients as desired. They had a special feature on the menu - the "Beyond Meat Burger" with cashew cheese sauce. It's a different patty than the almonds & grains patty used in their regular burger selection. It was the bomb! Hopefully it stays and becomes part of the regular menu, instead of being offered for just a limited time. Now when we write in the special notes to include ketchup for the fries, the message ALWAYS gets lost or doesn't get communicated to the restaurant and they themselves don't think about including a packet of ketchup for the fries they are packing up. When lockdown first started, I wrote to them countless times about this. They said they will fix the issue. It's been two years and I am still not getting ketchup with my order! Cocktails and smoothies are absolutely yummy. Their menu is large but not overwhelming. Everything tastes healthy, creative, and FRESH! If the good reviews haven't made it obvious already ... any Fresh is worth a visit. I go to one every time I'm in Toronto! And will continue to do so. After the fix, it was fine, but it completely defeated the point of ordering ahead for take out. I love Fresh! I've been to most of the locations and visit the Front and Bloor locations frequently. Yesterday my friends and I (all with dietary restrictions) visited and none of us had to worry about the ingredients. The view from their new patio is great; although it was loud with the cars passing through, it was cute and socially distanced. We started by splitting a plate of nachos, and were pleasantly surprised by a MOUNTAIN! They were delicious, some of the best vegan nachos I've ever tried. My friends got the squash and cauliflower tacos, and I had a small protein bowl on rice. If I had enough room I would have also ordered the chocolate cake as it is a staple for every time I visit. YOU MUST TRY THE CHOCOLATE CAKE IF YOU HAVEN'T!! It is the topic of most of my dreams. I'm not sure how much of my paycheck has gone to the fresh chain of restaurants but at this point it's likely an obscene amount. I love Fresh. I'm a fan to the point of buying their cookbooks and bringing their juices and smoothies home. The bloor location has always been my favourite however the one thing I always had said to my significant other is that I wish they had some nicer more upscale looking interiors to go with the food because sometimes on a date night when you've sourced babysitters you really feel like going to a nicer looking restaurant that caters to a vegetarian lifestyle versus going to one of those upscale places and then finding two things on the menu. The interiors on this place have finally answered my prayers. It's a treat for the eyes without being pretentious and not to mention the menu I love and adore! We always end up getting various things from the menu but our go to Staples usually never change. The quinoa onion rings followed by the big salad or one of their bowls. From time to time I do try their specials and none of them have ever disappointed me. the reason I reduced a star is because lately they got rid of the fresh juice bar which I really miss. While the bottle juices are likely a better way of scaling their operation for them, plus the Vitamix blenders running would likely take away from the ambience.... It does however not taste the same. Lots of pros and cons, but in conclusion I would definitely go back and this is probably the best Fresh that there is in terms of ambiance. Some of the Pros: they take reservations. Lots of choices so pretty much anyone you go with can find something, whether it's a smoothie, a drink, a sandwich - they have so many options. The food it pretty good, some items are definitely better than others and the prices can be quite high - you're probably looking at $30/person to have lunch here. The room is beautiful and the bathrooms are nice. Some of the Cons: their ticket time is 15-20 minutes (they told me that) - which means after you order, their standard time they assume it will take for food to come out is 15-20 minutes. If you're hungry, watch out, because 20 minutes is an incredibly long chit time, especially for things that don't require COOKING (i.e. no meat) - I got a bowl of steamed broccoli and it took 25 minutes to come out. Yikes. I am also ambivalent on the service, it doesn't feel very present and you have to wave someone down if you need anything. Yet their handheld machine prompts you for 18% or 20% (or "other") on top of tax, which I think it a bit ambitious for a meal that's already quite overpriced. 4.5 STARS I've been to Fresh many times, but this was my first visit to this location. The inside is absolutely beautiful. Definitely the most appealing of the different locations. The decor is modern and trendy, and the space is open and clean. My boyfriend and I dropped by for dinner on a Monday night around 6pm without reservations. We didn't want to wait 30 mins for a table, so we opted for bar seating. I personally love bar seating because it's cozy as you sit next to your date. We ordered two cocktails to start: Gin + Flowers and the Muskoka Mule. The Gin + Flowers was just okay. It tasted a little watered down and it was hard to drink without getting flower petals in your mouth. The Muskoka Mule was delicious and we loved the candied ginger accent. For food, we got the Buffalo Cauliflower as a starter. It was absolutely delicious! I totally get why it's the most popular appetizer. For entrees, I got the Banquet Burger and my boyfriend got the Chipotle Mushroom Bacon Burger and we shared both. Both were great, but I preferred the Banquet Burger. My boyfriend usually gets the BBQ Burger and he said it is better than the mushroom burger. For dessert, we shared a slice of carrot cake which was amazing! Our bad experience started as we walked in the door and the attendant asked if we had a reservations; we did not. We said we'd like to sit at the bar. We were told no there weren't any seats available, we needed a reservation. The bar was empty. We decided to order take-away. As we sat waiting for our order to be ready, two more people walk in, they're told there aren't tables available without a reservation and proceeded to seat them at the bar!!! When our food was ready the cashier apologized there weren't any tables available. I pointed out that we would have sat at the bar but we were told there weren't any seats available. She replied we don't take reservations for the bar. Really? The bar was practically empty. See picture. So perhaps the bar wasn't available for us. Maybe we weren't trendy enough? Or maybe he just didn't want to seat us. The food does appear fresh but the tacos lacked flavor. There was no sauces on them, they were dry and flavorless. Adorbs! The atmosphere is sooo cute and luxurious perfect for a girls brunch, just to read/study (yes they have WiFi!), to bring the kids (as long as they are not rowdy), date, anything! Such a clean, fresh, peaceful vibe! Love it!!! I'm not a vegetarian (steaks, fried chicken, yumm), but I am quite the health and natural foods nut who exercises regularly (and get hungry afterwards). And in my carnivore opinion, the food is great!! Very vegetable forward and they cook them well! Not to soggy or too raw. Flavors are bold with hearty home made sauces. You feel satisfied and just ... good! Not like you need to grab an ice cream or bucket of fried chicken after but not like just just ate a bucket of fried chicken haha.
