Kupfert & Kim was the perfect morning spot to grab a heart-healthy, vegan breakfast and snack during our stay in Toronto. Since everything was plant-based, it made it hard deciding what we'd order. We ultimately went with the First Canadian Bowl ($15) with tempeh, quinoa, grains, greens, and topped with this tangy dijon mustard dressing that really elevated the bowl. The bowl was absolutely delicious and it came with such large portions that we took half back home. On the way out, we also snagged one of their brownies which made for a delectable, chocolatey snack. Staff were super friendly and very easy on the eyes too haha. Extremely good vegan dishes. The breakfast bowl is basically an unmixed salad but it's delicious. The toasts are nuts and seeds in different forms but still amazing. Overlooking the York Village Park the place has a wonderful feel. Fully recommended but avoid the 11-12 as they seem to do a lot of To Go lunch orders. read more

If you don't know already, Kupfert and Kim is the conventional trendy plant-based food stop offering allergen free menu items. I had a coupon so I ordered what I know is good, K&K Paleo bowl and tried something new, the cauliflower bowl for takeout. Staff told me the cauliflower was the bestseller, but I personally wouldn't order it again. The sauce was a bit too rich without enough oomph, and the pomegranate seeds, while they lend a bougie aesthetic, don't add much to the taste. Personally what made me feel better about it was adding some sriracha and apple cider vinegar, but maybe my taste buds are weird... you decide. The Paleo bowl on the other hand, was awesome. Should have gotten two of those instead. Just a nice mix of tangy pickled veggies and 2 sauces that go super well together--rich earthy and tangy. The sunflower seed balls are also epic, lots of umami. If you want flavourful, K&K Paleo is it, and I don't even care for it as a diet trend. read more

Great neat place...I came looking for oats bowl for breakfast and the staff here told that breakfast hours were over. Neesha and Ahmet went out of their way to accommodate my requests. They checked of their other location had some oats. Then they suggested granola with all the toppings that oats would have had. They created such a filling and delicious granola bowl for me. I've been buying lunch from Kupfert & Kim for years because their food is fresh and gluten free. Today I discovered they've now substituted fresh avocado with a subpar guacamole (clearly a cost savings measure) and increased their pricing - over $17 dollars for a takeout salad. Very disappointing. They aren't on my lunch list anymore. read more

The Yorkville K&K is my favourite. The food is incredible and healthy with a ton of yummy baked goods (I am V and G/F so finding options is no easy feat). Everything from the salads to the lasagna to the smoothies to the muffins and cookies are all divine....there's endless flavourful options so much so that I frequent a few times a week. Watched this place go through construction and finally came to visit on a Saturday evening! Everything is just as you would expect at any kupfert and Kim restaurants. Fast and good quality! The location is really convenient at the back of 101 Bloor st west. Very prominent if you are strolling along Cumberland. I never felt there's enough healthy eating places around the area (although some may think there's already too many) so this is definite an exciting addition. It was such a delight to finally try Kupfert & Kim's newest location in the Bloor-Yorkville Neighbourhood! Their salad bowls are so colourful and full of flavour, and I look forward to trying their other brunch items and curries. I visited on a Saturday afternoon, at around 3pm, and it wasn't very busy at the time. Note that, although the address displayed on their website says 100 Bloor St West, you have to walk to Critchley Lane or the small lane that faces Cumberland Street in order to access the restaurant. *AMBIANCE* The ambiance is clean, light and airy, with light wooden seats and tables and plenty of greenery on the walls and hanging from the ceiling, including a large green wall. There is a fair amount of seating available, including counter seating along the window. *SERVICE* This location offers both take-out and fast-casual style dining, where you can order at the counter, bring a number to your table, and then have your food brought to you. Overall, the staff were friendly and accommodating. In particular, when they realized that they ran out of the seed and oat cracker that went with my salad, they offered to give me a scoop of guacamole instead (yes please!). *FOOD* The food here was excellent. I ordered the Cauliflower Tahini ($12.50), and it was incredibly colourful with a multitude of flavours, textures and ingredients, including hummus, roasted cauliflower, salsa, carrots, cabbage, beets, mint, pomegranate and radish. The salads and bowls come with a base of mixed greens, organic kale, brown rice, quinoa or roasted yams, and I had the roasted yams. This salad was served with a lemon tahini sauce on the side, although every element was so tasty that I could have definitely had the salad as-is. Their organic corn chips are also amazing and very crispy, and pair perfectly with the guac. I ordered from a delivery service app. The food was ready extremely quickly. I ordered the cauliflower tahini salad bowl. This salad was MASSIVE. I couldn't find a bowl in my house to fit the whole thing in ! There are so many different things in the salad - lots of crunchy veg and crackers, sour pickled onions, spicy hot sauce and hot peppers, sweet pomegranate and creamy dressing. Loved every bite ! Let me start by saying I have been a regular patron (coming 1-2 times a week for 7 months) of this location. I always pre-order on Ritual, and the food's always ready on time. This convenience, coupled with the fact that this location is around the corner from my home, is the reason I keep coming back. However recently I've had multiple run-ins and truly upsetting encounters with the staff that have been so off-putting, I'd rather go much further to another location to avoid this establishment. The female staff in particular are incredibly rude. The majority of them seem so miserable and like they hate their jobs. They make you feel like any tiny thing you ask of them is a massive inconvenience. Recently I ordered a few items for takeout and when I came to pick them up I asked if I could have a bag to carry them in. The look the cashier gave me it was like I'd asked her to do the most troublesome, inconvenient, impossible task. She rolled her eyes at me, scoffed and told me they were out of bags. No problem that they were out of bags, but she made me feel like a massive inconvenience for asking for something to carry my 5 containers of food in that I had just spent $70+ on. On another occasion, recently, I asked a cashier if I could please have a fork. She gave me an extremely dirty look and pointed to the empty container that usually holds forks. I tried to explain that there were no forks left, but she had already started walking away to go whisper something to one of her coworkers. I ended up just going to Starbucks and they gave me a fork a friendly smile and a "have a great day". These might seem like small issues, but every time I go to this Kupfert and Kim the negativity, dirty looks and eye rolling from the staff is really offputting. There of been multiple instances where I felt very uncomfortable and was made to feel like a huge inconvenience for asking like something for some water or a to-go box. As a paying, very regular customer, I expect a bit of friendliness, or at the VERY least, not flat-out rudeness and attitude. It's a shame because this location is convenient and the food is pretty good, but I'm nervous going in every time that I'm going to get ridiculed or snapped at for no reason by the most miserable team of staff of all time. If their goal is to create a hostile environment where customers feel unwelcome, they're doing a great job. read more
