    Blue cod lunch special
    Reh L.

This is my family's favourite fish and chips shop in the city, we've been going here for years. The haddock lunch special is the go to, always reasonably priced and with a healthy portion. This time we got the blue cod which was also great. The fish is always fried to absolute perfection, with just right the amount of crispiness and crunchiness. The chips are great too, thick and slightly crisp. Overall, the consistently best fish and chips in town.

I've been looking for a good seafood place and I think I've found it. The food is delicious, the atmosphere quiet, clean and inviting. Michelle, the Greeter/Server, during my visit was inviting, friendly and welcoming. She highlighted what the specials were and made sure all the customers were attended to. I will definitely return. The serving was quite appropriate and properly prepared.

I like fish and chips as much as the next person so I thought I would give this place a try given a) the yelp review b) the reviews of coworkers about this specific location. You'll see in the pictures that the portions are pretty big (plusplusplus) but for approx 10-15$ they better be. The best thing of this meal was the tartar sauce though... (interesting point..those little packets of tartar sauce (PC brand but not president's choice) are the best tartar sauce ever. Several people at work and I all agreed that we've neevr tried tartar sauce better than that anywhere else...anyone else know a place with great homemade tartar sauce let me know!!!) Maybe it was just this run, or that we brought it back to the office first but: 1) The fries were soggy. They were good in that way where you can taste through the sog and know that there was so much potential there... 2) I thought the fish was oily which for fish and chips is probably a must. But these were so oily that they went through the plates/napkins and oiled up the table beneath. But even with all the oil...I could only describe these as dry. How could they be dry when they were this oily???? And don't take my word for it. We had an ex halagonian (from halifax...its how they like being called) who also tried my fish and said the same thing. I would have rated this place higher except for these two reasons. 1) The halagonian holds strong sway on my opinion given her heritage with fish and seafood of all kinds 2) While I love eating oil especially if its disguised as food (because just eating oil is currently something that only future generations would appreciate and understand...like einstien or the catcher in the rye) but seriously...I couldn't taste anything else for the rest of the day but oil However, the place has potential and maybe it just requires going there sitting down and having a proper old fashioned eating...so until then...

Fish and Chips is good here. Not greasy and portions are good. There are plenty of seafood choices to choose from. Fried or grilled... so there is healthier menu choices. Fried pickles are great and worth the cost. The fried clam strips is a ripoff. Breaded mushrooms are ok. There are 2 locations that I know of. On Queens St and the other is on Fisherman Dr... both in Brampton. I find that the Queen St location is more professional at the pick up counter. Plus they do not screw up your order.

Well, definitely don't go here if you're looking for a healthy meal. But, everything we ate, from mushrooms to pickles to onions and to the cod, was covered in a nice batter and came with a good sauce for dipping. I quite enjoyed the layout of the restaurant, and the staff was very pleasant :) . If you're looking for a deep fried dinner, this is the place to go! Oh, and their chocolate éclairs are just fricken delightful, definitely get one of those for dessert :P :) !

I love the food here, they give you your food relatively fast when coming to a fish and chips place. Only complaint is that me and my friends had to wait almost an hour for our waitress to come check up on us. We had finished our food and wanted to get desert but we had to wait a very long time for our waiter to come and address us. We had to ask 3 other waitresses, which didn't seem to want to come help us, to take our order. It was very disappointing. Our original waitress only came back when we were ready to pay and even that took a long time. Other than the horrible customer service, the food was great.

There are specials that change weekly. The interior is decorated with New Orleans memorabilia, medium lit, cozy (not large), with jazz music in the background. Service was attentive and friendly. They operated for 30 years at their old location. This location soft-opened on 2026-02-12. We came on 2026-02-25 for dinner. There were still some furnishings to complete (there were unforeseen delays). They kept the same menu offerings but it will be expanded within a month. We ordered the following: 1. Citra Terre D'Abruzzo Pinot Grigio - Italy (glass $14.95). 2. Coke. 3. Crab Cakes ($19.95). 4. New Orleans Shrimp Cocktail ($19.95). 5. Jambalaya Aranchini (weekly special). 6. Blackened Lamb Chops (weekly special). 7. New Orleans Fisherman's Plate ($39.95). 8. Pecan Pie warmed with Ice Cream ($14.95). 9. Bananas Foster ($14.95). 10. Beignet ($14.95). Every dish had an excellent presentation. We spent a lot of time taking photos and videos. What did you expect from me?! We loved all the dishes! The portions were large! There are more staff than in the previous location, allowing the service to be excellent. They tend to have many loyal and returning customers. Every table starts with freshly baked bread and butter. The bread was so fresh! The three appetizers tasted good. They each had a little kick due to creole cuisine. I loved the shrimp the most. The Blackened Lamb Chops was perfectly cooked. Each of the four pieces were very tender, accompanied by a delicious sauce. The dish had some very nicely cooked seasonal vegetables: roasted potatoes, a red pepper, string beans, a broccoli, and a carrot. This dish will be put into their regular menu in the near future. The New Orleans Fisherman's Plate is great if you want a little sampling of their seafood: Blackened Fish, Cajun Calamari, and Coconut Beer Shrimp. It also comes with rice and seasonal vegetables. The fish was so good! We brought some home for my mom and she really loved it. The Coconut Beer Shrimp was on top of a Orange Marmalade Sauce, which is really liked. The three desserts looked really good and tasted good. I loved the pecan pie the most. They can split dishes in half in the kitchen and serve them on two dishes for two people to share. The restaurant uses fresh seasonal ingredients and spices to create authentic Creole and Cajun tastes. Everything is made in-house except for bread and butter. In the near future, their bread will be made in-house too. Currently, there is only indoor dining but they are looking into the possibility of sidewalk outdoor dining. Mike Djurdjevic runs the front of the house while his wife, Mira Djurdjevic, operates the kitchen. Their son, Marko, also helps in the front of the house. There is a large pizza oven at the back of the restaurant. They will be introducing creole pizza in the near future. There is a separate large room for events, parties, etc. This room will be ready in the near future. They also do catering. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There is one gender-neutral washroom, which is also wheelchair accessible, and one female washroom. Thrre is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2026-037

Everything was delicious…read more The bread was warm and tasty, and both the servers and the owner were incredibly friendly, which made the experience even better. At first, the location felt a bit odd and made me wonder what to expect, but once inside, the atmosphere was actually very nice and welcoming. The seafood was excellent, and the grilled bass was amazing -- that was my favorite dish of the night. The other dishes we tried were also very good, but the grilled fish really stood out for me. The owner also mentioned that they'll be moving soon to a larger location near the Etobicoke lake area, which sounds exciting. With a better location and more space, the atmosphere should be even better, and I think the restaurant will do really well. Definitely a place I'd recommend, and I'm looking forward to visiting again after they move.

It was fun finding this place as it's located by my old Middle School…read more It is located about two stores down from the no frills they do have two tables that you can sit at and counter top with bar stools. Majority of the people who are there were taking out. The servers are really nice they have zero problem at re-explaining what is available and what is on the money to each customer. Their portions are pretty generous and they make sure that they fill up the container. I tried the goat soup they did a let me and other customers know that there isn't much meat in the soup anymore that it's mainly broth and they were selling it at a reduced price because of that. Regardless of it not having a lot of meat it was very tasty and I can honestly say that it was one of the best tasting Manish water soup that I've had in a very long time. I ordered a combo I chose oxtail and barbecue chicken I got the size medium and I chose coleslaw as my side it was $16 the barbecue chicken was fried first and it was crispy even with the sauce on top of it. The chicken was still juicy inside I do wish that the barbecue sauce was a little less tangy but other than that it was great. The oxtail was a good flavors were there, it was tender but I do feel it could have been slightly more tender to be fall off the bone.I think that the only thing that was really missing was spice and I am not sure if they have pepper sauce cuz it wasn't offered but I will definitely ask next time Also tried the stew peas and do note that there's stew peas is a mixture so it comes with beef chicken foot and pigtail in it. The server did let us know prior to us paying for the food. And for this we got steamed vegetables at the side the steam vegetables were really delicious. Out of all the things that we tried I think the stew peas was our least favorite it wasn't bad it just was not as flavorful or memorable as the other meals which is why I will still give them a 5 stars I am sure to someone else the stew peas is exactly how they like it. They also have different Island sodas available as well as different unique flavors of fanta. I did see that they have $8.50 chicken lunch meal specials as well as $6 student lunch specials I hope to come back again and hopefully I get the same quality. There was a continuous line of people coming in and out I visited on a Friday afternoon around 5:00 p.m. and I did stay and eat so I watched the line continue even when I was leaving there was still a line

Without further ado here is my review of items I've tried over both visits: Deep Fried Shrimp in a cone (box) - I HAVE to mention the shrimps were the jumbo kind, BIG & JUICY lol, I was expecting popcorn shrimp but man did they exceed my expectations! The second time we got them it was just the same, so they are definitely consistent with the quality. Deep Fried Calamari in a cone (box) - perfectly fried calamari rings with just the right amount of chewiness & flavour. Tip: I asked for the seaside sauce on the side to dip it in & it was perfect! Seafood paella - okay I am a bit biased because I have a Venezuelan brother in law and have eaten home cooked authentic paella but this I gotta say was actually pretty good for a quick seafood bar place! The rice was fresh & flavourful & there was shrimp or squid in almost every bite! If you're looking for seafood that is not fried and some hearty rice this is a great option. Deep Fried Fish Tacos - loved these tacos and definitely getting them again, we got them with lettuce, tomatoes and guacamole. We added some type of honey sauce that gave just the right amount of sweetness without overpowering the whole meal. Crab Poutine - this dish was FILLED with cheesy goodness and their signature sea side sauce which is similar to a garlic sauce IMO Deep Fried Scallop Tacos - the scallops were perfectly fried but also juicy and chewy at the same time just as they should be, really enjoyed this one Salmon tacos - What I loved here was that the salmon was grilled and seasoned well, the toppings we got complimented it perfectly and it was a good balance with the rest of the fried food hehe Deep Fried Fish in a cone (box) - the fish was so fresh and flakey on the inside and well seasoned too, I'm definitely a fish lover lol and this was heaven to me, not sure what sort of fish was used my guess is basa maybe lol idk but it was just delish though ya know your girl wouldn't say it otherwise. Not pictured: Deep Fried Calamari Tacos - perfectly crispy calamari rings nestled in soft taco shells topped with lettuce, tomatoes and guacamole. We added the garlic sauce on this one and it was soooo yummy. Overall we absolutely relished our seafood feast and BOTH times and were super full by the end. I love everything about this place, the nautical theme, the friendly staff, the variety of options and ofcourse the quality and taste of all the food. Believe it or not but there are still things on their menu we have not tried so we will be back again to try them and obviously get some of our OG faves lol! Check them out y'all!

There were reviews on google that gave them over 4 stars so I figured we'd give it a try since I love me some seafood! The atmosphere is more fast food type. It wasn't busy since it was quite early around 5pm. Unfortunately being pregnant with gestational diabetes I am quite limited to how much carbs and sugar I can have in a meal and it was hard to choose what to get since they didn't have a nutritional breakdown. So I played it safe and ordered a shrimp cone to try. Omg. As soon as we got it, it was filled to the top of a large cone and these shrimps are massive and juicy!! None of that dry ass small ass frozen shrimp. So we decided to stay in and eat and also ordered the fried calamari and coleslaw. Each cone was $9.99. Slaw was $2.49. You can either choose to get fried or grilled. Reason for deducting one star is because although the batter was the same for the shrimp and calamari, the calamari was HELLLLLLLLA salty to the point that I had to remove all the breading. I'm coming back after I give birth so I can fully enjoy their full menu LOL

One star for the convoluted business that it is…read more So I arrived at the restaurant to take my mom out for a fun night of Egyptian food, the restaurant occupied two commercial units thought its very unusual why they don't unify it was one unit. One side is for takeout but patrons are sitting there to dine in and the other side is for dine in, but the employees also do take out. Confusing YES. So I arrived in blindly following a line. I eventually tapped the person behind me, is this the line to get a table. He says no it's the line to order... okay. About 20min in the line I finally get the deal what everyone is doing, they order their seafood order at the front where the precious alive seafood is stored- it's like a pick what you eat counter. So I order their sangarita with a salad and yellow rice and a calamari with no sides (you save like $4 for just skipping that). After ordering she asked if I had a table?? I said no, then she comes out with seven yellow sticky notes and says there are 6 parties waiting for a table. I asked how long? Maybe 40min. She also advises me that i can put myself on the list for a table and she can hold my order up to 45min- they won't start cooking until you have a table. So I asked how long for takeout, she says 20min. Well I did my math, I waited 20min in line, and 20min for food that is not partially cooked so 40min, I can live with that. Watched the server rip the slip, and just fyi the fish was charged at $35/kg costing $60 and the calamari at 1lb was $22. She asked me to wait on the side, saw her put the slip with the raw fish and placed it ON THE FLOOR behind the counter. As I waited on the side I can see quite a number of orders piled in Rubbermaid containers on the floor. Behind the counter I can see the coats of the employees piled up next to what looks like to be the washed cutlery for table service and the employees use the same yellow rag to wipe every cutlery. I also saw employees clear the tables and return to prepare more cutlery- did they wash their hand in the kitchen??? I was then prompt to pay on their pay unit. It prompted me tip. SKIP tip for takeout. Then she tells me it's 2% charge if I pay credit card no charge for debit. So I pay debit. I waited patiently, I stood near the washroom and overheard how a male customer found a $100 bill in the washroom and handed it to the restaurant- they didn't even ask around if anyone dropped it. Then when I had waited 30min (10min past the estimated time, I asked for an update ). They assured me 10 more minutes. Then after 10min I asked again, they said 1min. And then they came out with my take out. The gave me a complimentary hummus for the slow service, but I don't think it made up for the undersized sides they served me. Just look at my pic and look at the website photo. Overall , if you have 2-3hours this is your place. THIS PLACE WAS ABSOLUTELY CHAOS! I'm questioning food stored on the floor even though it's in a Rubbermaid and then that bin placed back on the scale, touched by the gloved hands and potentially cross contaminating food. During the whole time I didn't see anyone clean or mop the floor- what if people are trekking sidewalk salt in the winter. I am really concerned. Eat dangerously here if you want. I do say the food was seasoned well but won't be returning.
