I want to thank Thrifty Rooter for having reasonable fees, and for providing excellent service. In particular I want to thank Zach. After having had a really bad experience with another plumbing company (you can find my review here on Yelp) I called Thrifty Rooter and Zach was able to do the job the owner of this other company couldn't do, for a fraction of the cost. I am talking about hundreds of dollars difference. Zach informed me right away that it would cost $140.00 to use the snake in an attempt to remove the blockage (versus $375 for the other company). He also informed me that if that didn't work, there would be another $70.00 charge to remove the toilet to find the clogged area, clear it and replace the toilet (versus over $800.00 for the other company) It took Zach over an hour of hard work. He spend quite a bit of time and energy using the auger in the toilet but it didn't clear it. He then took out the toilet and was able to remove some blockage. He replaced the toilet. He also found a clean-out vent outside the bathroom (the other company didn't), so he brought in a large machine with a much longer snake to clear the entire pipe all the way to the septic tank. It's clear that Zach cared about doing the best possible job in order to take care of this customer's needs. I really appreciate him and Thrifty Rooter's reasonable cost of doing the job for a fraction of what the other company was going to charge for the exact same job. Thank you Zach!! This happened about a week ago, and I really thought this might need some attention. The Thrifty Rooter guys (two people) showed up on my doorstep NOT wearing masks, and I asked them to wear masks before coming into my residence. One person responded that he "has to now walk to his truck to get a mask." Good grief...there are nearly 3000 deaths a day in the US do to Covid, and I would think a business that enters people's homes would require their employees to wear masks. I get it, not everyone likes to wear masks, but we need to be careful in these days where Covid numbers are on the rise. Please inform your employees that masks are not optional when entering someone home or business, especially when your business is in and out of many homes and businesses on a daily basis. This business is incompetent, full of excuses and not very polite. Called to schedule service, explained what was needed. Had to wait 4-5 days for appointment. On day of appointment they called from an "unknown number" wanting to show up at a different time than scheduled. I called back 5 minutes later and the tech no longer available. Moreover, the equipment needed for the job was not available (even though the needed equipment was explained when appointment made) meaning they could not accomplish anything on the appointment even if they came. There were numerous excuses about new staff and being short handed. Did not seem to care about inconvenience to home owner who waited all those days for appointment. read more

Had an appointment window of 1-3:30 and was told that he would call me when he was about done with the job before mine. I've been told that before and it never happens so when Will called me at 12:15 to say he was finishing up his job and would be to my place in about 20 minutes I was so surprised and impressed. Will and Al showed up about 20 minutes later as promised and greeted me with smiles. I showed them to the backyard and left them to do their job. As our project required digging down three feet, it took a little more effort than normal. They also fixed a drainage issue, and added two extenders, so no more digging! Recently bought a house that was signed off from Thirty for septic inspection. They signed off on my loan, saying the level was not full and that inspection showed there was no problems. Three days after moving in we noticed there was water pouring from the ground. Come to find out that was my the septic tank that was buried. I called the people who helped sell me the house and they said it should have been noticed during the inspection. The dirt around the septic system had not been dug up any time recently to check the levels. I dug it up myself, to discover my septic was full to the rim! I called them and asked why they had signed off on a full tank, and they told me "We did the bare min. that the county requires". You signed off on it, yet its full ? I called them asking for them to make it right, maybe even a discount and they refused. If the loan company and the selling agent call you maybe you messed up ? I called Thrifty Rooter Monday morning (3/27/17) thinking my septic tank needed to be pumped out since all my bathrooms were backed-up. Thrifty showed up when they said they would and the two gentleman from Thrifty were courteous and knowledgeable. I told them the Septic tank was last pumped out in August of 2015, and they said it was unlikely that the tank was the problem. After an visual inspection of the tank and the clean-out fitting, they quickly found a clogged pipe that feeds the Septic tank. Using a high pressure hose they quickly and efficiently cleared the problem. They let me know they could not "feel" any roots invading the pipe, but if the problem returns I might need to have the pipe checked with a video scope. In the end they fixed the problem and were gone in less than an hour, and their fee was very reasonable. I strongly recommend Thrifty as your first call when you are having plumbing problems! read more

had an appt. on 7/13/20. kitchen sink backed up and recommended a new garbage disposal which they installed. they didn't have the equipment with them to snake the whole drain system, just partial. sink kept cloging up so i called them 35 days later and was told the 30 days were up to do a re-do, told the manager "tony" i was ill but he was so rude and told me i should have taken 5 mins out to call him, while i was sick. i will never do business with this co. again and will advise everyone in my community the same. no customer service!!!! read more

The water pipe in the back yard was broken, called in Thrifty Rooter and another plumbing company, the other company told me they'll have to reroute the whole pipe line and would cost $1500-$2000, when Thrifty Rooter came they said it would just cost $500 and no need to reroute the whole thing, they had it done in less than an hour and it was perfect! SHADY!! I called on Thursday to have them clean a couple drains. The lady said they were booked solid for the day and scheduled me for Friday between 10-12. They said it would be $99 for both drains unless they found a bigger problem. I was clear about it being 2 drains and she was clear it would be $99. I work so I had a friend come over and wait and I left him $100. At 11:30 nobody had showed up yet and my friend had to leave soon so I called them. They said the plumber would be there soon. At 11:50 the plumber called saying he couldn't come because they had an emergency call they had to take care of. Irritating but understandable. I called to reschedule for the following day and was told because it was Saturday I would have to pay overtime rate which would be alot more money. My friend had just wasted 2 hours waiting for them and they didn't show now they wanted me to pay more. I chose to go thru the weekend without use of my kitchen or bathroom sinks and wait for Monday to pay the $99. I had to work during the week so I had my same friend come wait for them. This time they showed up. My friend called me saying the plumber was asking for $109 because of tax or something. I said I will call the office and see what the deal is. I spoke with the same lady that I have and she said he must have put a part in or something but would call him to see whats going on then call me back. She never called back. My friend called me about 20 minutes later and told me the plumber cleared the kitchen drain and I owed $109 and if I wanted bathroom drain cleared it would be another $35. I hung up and called the office and asked the Lady if she talked to her plumber. She said she had and that I owed the other $10 because he opened the p trap. (Takes less than 2 mins) and the service call is for one drain. I told her she told me on Thursday that $99 would cover both drains. She didn't deny it and repeated "The $99 service call is for the first drain other drains are additional" I told her to have her plumber take the $100 and get out of my house. He took the $100 and wrote $10 discount on the receipt. These people are SHADY and she is a LIAR. read more

We had a minor clog in our toilet and called thrifty rooter. Not only did the plumber show up 2 hours late, but the job also took him a matter of 5 minutes. We were billed the next day for 90 dollars. There were no supplies costs and the job took five minutes. Thanks to Thrifty Rooter Chico!!!!!! Pinpointed a hot water leak under our slab and gained access in closet. Had to replace a 20 ft. Piece of rotten galvanized pipe by making only 2 small access holes in bath and laundry rooms. Attached a new pex pipe and pulled it thru without having to trench. 2 men all day fri. Then a 3rd till past 8 pm to get it done so that my family has water for the weekend. read more

We were trying to fix a leaky faucet in the kitchen, when it began leaking out of the shut-off valve. I saw that Thrifty Rooter had 5 stars for reviews, so I chose them to come out. Clayton came out and tightened the cap we put on the angle valve and told us that if it keeps leaking after that, he would come out and fix it free. It did leak again, and as promised, he came out and after 4 trips to the hardware store, he fixed it. I was very pleased with the promptness, courtesy, and explaination of all that he was doing. Strange to even be writing a review for a company that never even showed up for the freaking appointment. Long story short, we bought a house, I made an appointment while we were still in escrow so the appointment was standing for about a month for a $4,000 job. 2 days before the appointment I hadn't heard from them to tell me what time they were coming. Spoke to the office and they said they would call me back. The next day I called back since they didn't. They still couldn't tell me what time they would be there. The day they were supposed to show up they never showed or called. The next day was Friday and I called at 8:45 to find out what was going on. The guy that I spoke to (John?) said that he and another guy were coming "this morning" to camera the line and show me what had to be done. Needless to say by 10:30 when they hadn't called or shown up I called another company who showed up by 1, did the work, explained everything to me as it was being done, and was extremely helpful. They were paid and gone by 3:30. And guess what??? Never did thrifty rooter show or call me. Amazing. Call Fletcher's. They may be a little more pricey but worth every penny and efficient!!! read more
