Be aware they charge an arm and a leg for services. We reached out to get a quote to replace our front bathroom under-mount sink. We were quoted $1200 to replace and install a $110 sink. They never provided how much the sink they were going to put in would cost but it should be gold plated for that cost. They also listed that another person would be needed, which is so not necessary. We bought the sink ourselves and contacted another local plumber. They quoted $425 for one person to install and didn't try to suggest to replace a perfectly working faucet or drain. Really, really disappointed in the service I received today for a quote from Earl's and their plumber, Paul E. I called because of a leaky faucet handle and spoke with someone from their call center. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The representative I spoke with was honestly one of the nicest customer service people I've ever talked to -- the few stars I gave are for them and them alone.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I scheduled a 10 a.m.-12 p.m. window to have the leak checked and get a quote. I let my boss know I'd need to step away from work during that time and even offered to use my lunch break so I wouldn't miss additional time on a personal matter. I kept my phone right in front of me the entire morning -- and waited... and waited... and waited.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When noon rolled around, I called customer service. The agent told me I had received a call and voicemail saying my window had been changed to 1-3 p.m. I hadn't received any call, voicemail, or text -- which I thought I would have at least gotten, since I did get a text confirming the original appointment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The agent didn't seem to care or believe me, and tried to rush me off the phone but first I asked her to confirm my number, and have the plumber text when he was on his way so I wouldn't miss him.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Then I had to rearrange my lunch break again and get approval to leave work for a second time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] At about 1:40 p.m., the plumber texted saying he'd arrive at 2. He showed up at 2:20. Great. I ended up getting back to work 30 minutes late from my lunch. When Paul arrived, I showed him the leak and explained that we rent -- so if it wasn't expensive, I'd just pay for it myself, but if it was, I'd need to contact the landlord. Paul asked, "Well, what do you consider expensive?" I just stared for a second, because I figured he should be the one telling me that. Then he asked, "How much can you -- or are you willing -- to pay to get it done?" Like I was on The Price Is Right. Not wanting to play the guessing game, letting him know I know absolutely nothing about plumbing or the cost I said, "I don't know, maybe $100?" He scoffed, looked at his tablet, and said, "$100? I don't have a single thing on this whole tablet for $100." I asked, "Okay, how much will it cost then?" Finally, he quoted nearly $300. I asked if I could make a quick phone call, and he said, "What are you going to phone a friend?" Excuse me? I explained I needed to talk to my husband because we have a budget. After my husband and I spoke, we decided the cost was too high for something that might fall under our landlord's responsibility. I told Paul we'd contact our landlord to handle it. He said, "So call him right now." I explained we hadn't notified the landlord of the leak yet, that we just discovered it and he'd want to inspect it himself first. Paul seemed visibly annoyed, took his iPad, headed to the door, didn't look at me and said have a nice day and left. I was honestly flabbergasted. This was my first time calling a plumber over something like this, and it felt like every "mechanic-as-a-woman" warning come to life -- being treated like I didn't know what I was talking about and ready to be taken advantage of financially. The irony is, I've had better experiences with actual mechanics, even the ones who might've been trying to upsell me were at least friendly. At first, I wasn't going to leave a review. Things happen; people have bad days. I didn't lose anything but time. But here I am -- why? Because I ended up fixing the leak myself after watching a couple of YouTube videos and buying a $15 tool. The plumber wanted to charge me $270 to replace an entire faucet system for no reason other than to take my money and act like I was wasting his time. And just to be clear, this was only supposed to be a quote. The phone rep even said that no work would be done unless we agreed on a price first. Unfortunately, what I got instead was a wasted day, a rude plumber, and a bad taste in my mouth. To wrap it up: Earl's might have a great call center, but my experience with their field service -- specifically Paul E. -- was frustrating, dismissive, and overpriced. I needed a small 15" x 15" bar sink installed in my kitchenette and I called Earl's Plumbing. I provided all the materials including the sink and angle stops excluding the waste/drain and water supply lines. Earl's would not cut the hole in the countertop and made me do it. It took Craig (of Earl's) about 3 hours over 2 consecutive days at a cost of nearly $900, or about $300 per hour. That is highway robbery! I will never use Earl's Plumbing again. After I lost my in the park fire, I had to have the septic system inspected and mapped out special forms required by the county had to be filled out by a contractor certified by the county. Trent and Craig came to my site with mapped out the and inspected the septic tank and went the extra mile for all the maps and filling the special forms at a very reasonable price. Their technician Rob failed to address the root cause of my problem- " a simple plug had no power to septic tank sump pump. He told me that it had power which was not the case and charged me $158.00 to snake my toilet. Said another technician " Trent would come and help me take my holding tank apart and see what was the problem with the pump. We discovered nothing and changed the power outlet and the pump ran perfectly. During this 2-3 hour ordeal he had to borrow my phone numerous times, lost a bolt to my primary cover plate and had to borrow my electricians tools. He again charged me $180.00 for a job that could have been completely avoided by proper electrical diagnosis. The whole thing was unnecessary and could have been avoided. Plumbers put in electrical pumps all the time and should know what they're doing. - Caveet emptor- look for people who are knowledgeable in what they can do that u can trust!. read more

Earl's plumbing guy came by my house in Magalia on Monday, August 18, 2025 to estimate the cost to replacing my bathtub's drain as a rodent had eaten holes into the plastic Shoe Strainer-Tray. I was told that it would take two men to replace the shoe strainer, and shoe-strainer tray; that the job would take about 3-4 hours and cost $650.00. "Two men I asked?" Yes, "One to hold the Shoe Strainer while one screwed the Tray from under the house." I said, "I could hold the Shoe Strainer, that would only take 5 minutes." "No you cannot," replied the plumber, "You could get seriously injured and our insurance doesn't cover you." I replied, "Seriously injured wearing my work clothes, gloves, safety glasses and boots in the tub?" I asked how much were the parts. I was told he does not give prices for parts. The plumber spent a lot of time talking about mice poison and it appeared he was trying to distract me and my concerns about the drain. The price seemed insanely unreasonable. I remembered about 9 years ago where I had the shoe strainer, and shoe-strainer tray replace by Al Howard of REPAIR PLUS. He did the job alone and charged me $125.00, now Earl's wanted 520% more and two men? The estimate, to my thinking, was exploitation of the elderly and disabled. I thought, "Why not me?" I bought a shoe strainer, shoe-strainer tray, ABS cement and plumber's putty at Thomas Ace Hardware for $38.23. I did the job myself. It took me about 4 hours including one hour to Ace and back, and to replace the floor insulation and its covering. I'm 77 years (retired school teacher); had I been fifty I would have saved more time; then I didn't have two metal hips, a metal knee and arthritis in my back and shoulders. I saved $611.77, a lot of beer and sausage. All thanks to Dr. Norman Vincent Peale's book, "The Power Of Positive Thinking," Thomas-Ace plumbing expertise and the desire to be effective. read more

The work was adequate once done correctly as requested. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We had called on this company as our regular plumber was tied up the past several days.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had some leaks and our plumbing underneath the sink was 30 years old. They identified a seal around the kitchen sink which was allowing some water to leak in underneath. In addition I wanted all the piping redone underneath the kitchen sink for peace of mind. They quoted for this work which I agreed to the pricing in the quote. Once the work was completed the plumber shared they didnt replace the p-trap as it was working fine. The next day we ran water into the sink on 3 occasions and water slowly leaked from the p-trap. I called them back out and upon reviewing the situation the plumber attempted to quote me for the p-trap replacement that I paid for the day earlier that wasnt done. That was a hard "no." He did replace it for no extra charge. The work seems to be good. However, I can't give a good review for trying to double charge me for work that wasn't completed in the 1st place as requested. read more

Do not do this. You need to understand something with this company they will try to get every dime possible. So a couple weeks ago we had some leaking from our what we thought sewer system out in our property in the back yard (not from inside) mind you we do own our home but we are a young couple and didn't know some crucial information. If it's a problem outside call our local sewer company for service in oroville. If you pay a sewer bill they will happily come out for free and fix anything that is going on outside the home. We called this company and he quoted us almost 1,600$ to 2,000 dollars!!! We were about to do it!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]He never mentioned to call our sewer company that is actually responsible for any leaks or issues.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So we got a second opinion the day of the very expensive quote. We called the city and they came for freeee! If you live in county you hv to call a business to come suck it out or fix any issue. If you live in the city limits then the city utility fixes the problem for freeee because we pay that bill city will do it! Don't get scammed! This can very expensive for you!! Hired to fix a backup at the kitchen sink. Replaced the air gap, problem remained. Unhooked a hose a second time, cleared the hose, invoiced for the air gap. Upon departure, hot water pressure at the sink was significantly reduced and the faucet was loose.
