The place specializes in fresh seafood, with inspired dishes such as the tuna tartare and soft shell crab that is off the charts! If seafood isn't your thing, try the pork chop dish. It will blow you away! Situated in an historic house, the atmosphere is upscale casual, and features inside or outside dining on the covered porch. My partner and I tried Three10 for the first time tonight and were not disappointed. The restaurant is a converted bungalow home with a casual yet upscale atmosphere. The speciality cocktails were delicious (the Basil 75, in particular), our meals had excellent flavor, and our waitress was wonderful--and was able to recommend great wine pairings with dinner! We came for brunch today and ate inside. The decor is so beautiful and enchanting. I had a Bloody Mary and it was delicious. Purely drag and made from scratch. You can taste the love the chef puts into each item. My friend had the basic mimosa flights. I ordered the smoked trout Benedict with fruit. I loved the sauce. It was very filling and the fruit with the fresh mint was also wonderful. My friend had an amazing soft shell crab sandwich with the best home fries I ever had. The bacon was impeccable, too. This restaurant was a surprisingly a great find. The atmosphere is fantastic. This area of Wilmington is really building up with new businesses! We got the Johnny cakes appetizer and was delicious! Loved the raw oysters, they have a great selection. Most of the dishes were fish but we opted for the duck. Why seafood would need soooo much salt is beyond me but apparently it does and the corn bread and hush puppies want to be bland and dry. The decor is drab. Three 10 was a slight disappointment. We discovered this quaint little restaurant while on the way to a wedding rehearsal after party. The decor was simple and elegant. We chose to eat outdoors on the porch. Loved the plants, swags, and ambiance outside. It took a while to get our drinks. They were fine but nothing special. The menu had just a few offerings. We got the hush puppies which were basic. I chose the strawberry sunflower salad which was delicious. My bf had the flounder covered in country ham. It was mediocre at best. The service was slow. We had to ask several times for our check and finally had to get up to leave to pay. It wasn't all that busy. I think our situation may have been isolated and due to a poor waitress. I'd give it another try but I'd check the menu for more options. (Oh and they were totally out of shrimp and the tuna tartare.) read more

We visited last night. It was pretty busy around 7-8 on a Saturday as can be expected. About a 12 minute walk from downtown area. My co worker ordered oysters. We both ordered Caesar salad and also an order of cornbread. We got a local IPA which was very good. Entree was tuna with sweet potatoes cooked rare. Cornbread with the sweet pepper concoction was awesome. When the entrees arrived I knew they were going to be good. We travel all around the country and eat at a lot of nice restaurants and I can say the tuna entree was one of the best meals I've ever had. It was spectacular! Busy new restaurant. Chef is amazing. This is not a quite romantic restaurant. The dining room is very LOUD. It has an open decor and nothing to help with the echo in noise. If offered a choice inside or out and weather permitting I'd suggest you sit outside otherwise I'd pass this up. Menu selection is Southern Cajun menu. We are told owner is from Louisiana. Meal portions are filling. Don't let the small plates fill you! We had Peel n Eat shrimp that is served cold, NC oysters that have creamy collards and bread crumb toppings and cornbread for our starters. Main course we had Mushrooms Gumbo that we added shrimp and the Country Fried Grouper with a creamy purée yam and spinach over rice. They do have a good bar selection but no sweet tea. I say no sweet tea, because we ordered sweet tea and they brought us unsweetened and then offered us Raw Sugar. There is no romantic ambiance here, unless you eat outside. We've been meaning to check out this new spot even though it's a bit further away from downtown. The extra distance was well worth it. Honestly, the food here was everything that I hoped Seabird was going to be before it opened. Seabird is just ok, but Three10 served an inspired meal with very tasty caesar salads, shrimp cocktail, drinks, and entrees. We trust only a handful of places downtown for a really good dinner and we'll be adding this to our list. read more

I had so many things to talk to my friend about tonight. I had to make a list so I knew we needed to go out to dinner to get through the list. When she said she was available in the evening I thought okay. We can finally go to "three10"! I was surprised if she had already picked out what she was probably going to have for dinner, but the recipe that included pickled watermelon rind had her going. I hadn't looked at the menu. I was a little surprised there were so few things on the menu and that there were no specials, but the waitress explained that they want to do what they do really well. And they do. I decided to try the mushroom gumbo and added shrimp. We weren't in a drinking mood so we just had water, the water was beautifully presented and gorgeous glassware. It was a very comfortable dining room, I was surprised at how open it was. The bar looks like it would be a fun place to sit and watch the happenings. We chose to eat inside because it was still hot and humid in August, but there were plenty of people who sat outside and inside was robustly full. It took a little while for a meal to come, but we had plenty to talk about so it flew by. The pork chops. Chops take a few extra minutes. The waitress told us. I was surprised that we didn't get any bread, but I missed it on the menu that they had several things you could purchase. But we were fine. The meals as you can tell from the picture were beautiful. The flavor was outstanding. My mushroom gumbo with shrimp was flavored so perfectly I didn't need any salt or pepper, And while there was a bit of heat to the dish, it was not overwhelming that you had to put out a fire with water or bread. It was very well done. The portion size was doable. I was hungry, it was delicious and consequently there were no leftovers to take home. I'm usually a leftovers person but the portion size were just right. My friend loved her pork chops. Lots of flavors were present in this remarkable dish. We decided that we would try both of the desserts that she told us about. I wish I could remember their names but if you look at the pictures ask her if she has those. She described the cheesecake as a different kind of a cheese. Almost like a Brie merged with a chocolate mousse, topped with sesame seeds and candied orange rind. It was so rich, but so good. You could share it with someone else and still feel like you got a great conclusion to your meal. The one my friend ordered it was very exotic. I wasn't familiar with all of the ingredients other than blueberries, but it was delicious. We got the bills and they were on the pricey side. I find it hard to say whether something is expensive right now because of the nature of inflation happening in the cost of food. I am sure it was properly priced, you just need to have more money in your wallet right now to go to a nice restaurant. Restaurant. Was definitely worth the money. I hope they do well. They say that they change their menu seasonally, so I will look forward to checking in in a few months and seeing what else they might have on their menu. One of Wilmington's best restaurants. We ate there about a week ago, sat at the bar. Very comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff and owner. What we had was just delicious. We started with a dozen local (Topsail) oysters; they said they would be briny, and they were. The mignon and the sauce were very tasty, good at palate cleaning between bites (and sips). Our main courses (the owner said she was going to change the menu details in a few weeks) were a Snapper and a duck confit. We were seriously debating at least two other possibilities. What we had was delicious, perfectly cooked. Wine was excellent: a Muscadet, crisp and cool, perfect with oysters, on special. All wines are under $50. I just looked at the whites, there were maybe 8, but a perfect variety: Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, NZ Sauvignon bland, the Muscadet, and some others. Also by the glass. North Carolina oysters, Eastern Carolina beans and seafood, pepper jelly with hushpuppies, all used well. We had anxiously awaited the opening of Three10 as we had watched renovations being made over the past year or so. The amazing transformation continued to surprise us as we entered the main dining room from the spacious wrap-around porch (can't wait for warmer weather!). While waiting to be seated (all of a few seconds) our eyes traveled across the large dining room through a large archway directly to a bar and, in back of this, the active kitchen. The menu was not expansive but offered intriguing dishes. The server was most helpful in assisting with my "dry-January" mocktail selection (refreshing!) and the rest of our party with wine/beer choices. Appetizers shared were the cornbread with chow chow (excellent: cornbread moist and chow chow delicious and made here!). The hushpuppies were equally as delicious. I was slightly disappointed the Diver Scallops were not available but the substitute made me forget it was a choice: a sort of seafood sausage (?) with a cassoulet of beans. Delish! The pescatarian in our group was able to have her seafood dish without the bacon. Others at our table ordered the risotto/shrimp (good but thought it may need more spice?). The desserts (also shared) made us feel less guilty as they were sized right (meaning we actually could have ordered individual desserts without needing insulin!). Three10 is our local neighborhood restaurant. For a year my wife and I waited anxiously as the restaurant was built and then finally opened - a process that took over a year. So when it did open we made a reservation in anticipation of our long held expectations. Sadly - indeed, regrettably - we were severely disappointed. The menu was a disappointment. Not only is the menu sparse in its offerings but the food, to our chagrin, was poorly prepared and, frankly, not deserving of a serious restaurant. No less important to us, the restaurant itself disappointed. For all the possibilities that might have been for a newly appointed facility, the restaurant owners opted for a sterile interior devoid of warmth, intimacy and comfort. Like the skeletal menu and subpar food it serves, Three10's interior atmosphere is more akin to a poorly outfitted fast food restaurant. This restaurant is doomed to failure unless it's owners take its menu offerings and preparation more seriously and unless its owners understand that a pleasant and attractive dining atmosphere is essential. For this to happen Three10 needs to be completely revamped. Perhaps - and hopefully - the owners will understand before it's too late that customer satisfaction, not a bare menu and a barren dining room, is the ultimate and only formula for dining success. read more

The overall experience was good but there is needed improvement especially for a restaurant that is of this caliber. I am a restaurant professional myself and will say that the service is lacking. The level of service does not match the quality and creativity of food and ambiance. When people are paying $30+ per entree there is an expectation that service is on point. Our server was in dire need of training, she needs to learn the steps of service and how to organize and be more efficient. We were left unvisited for extended periods of time, which prevented us from purchasing more drinks and food. The table was never cleaned and dirty silverware was not replaced throughout the dining experience. In fact when our entrees hit the table we didnt have any forks or knives. We noticed the bartender and other staff members having to step in to help our server. Another thing i would like to point out is we noticed the host had on a button down top but was wearing fabletics athletic type pants, this is not a good look when you have guests dressing up to dine at the restaurant... the staff should look and be dressed as good or better than the guests coming to dine at the restaurant. To me it is offensive, they didnt make any effort to correct a gentleman who had on a baseball cap, no hats should be allowed inside a restaurant.. just common etiquette and high end restaurant standards that are missing here. They have most of the pieces to the puzzle but are missing some of the more important ones. read more
