Historic Wilmington bar with the best aerial views. This bar was our second bar on the Haunted Pub Crawl. The bar is located on the fifth floor. By the bar is an indoor theater where we sat at and had our drinks for the pub crawl. The creepiest place in our pub crawl tour was at that theater area by The Rooftop Bar. We used a tiny elevator to go up to this bar. There are stairs to go up and down the floors to the bar if the elevator is too cramped or too long of a wait. The server at the bar was pretty and kind. I was in awe of the views behind the plexiglass and the sunset over the water in Wilmington and the USS Battleship North Carolina. This is a bar I would definitely go to again just to see the spectacular views. read more

The Rooftop Bar - Bars Near Me - Wilmington, North Carolina

Struggled with the rating. I could have gone 3 stars but decided on 4. The deciding factor was how cheap the drinks were. Located on Front Street, right in the heart of downtown. The Rooftop bar is on the 5th story of the building it is in. There is an elevator, but if you are a glutton for punishment, you can take the stairs. The drinks are very reasonable. 3 beers cost me $10. Not a huge selection of draft beer, but many others in cans/bottles. Bartender was very good, friendly and efficient. The bar is in the middle, with seats all around. You can also take you drinks to seating outside with better views of the Cape Fear River. One section gives you a great view of the battleship across the river. There are criticism in other reviews about the views, which I get. The Southside views are mostly looking at the rooftops of other buildings, not that they can change that. There are other obstructions they can control if they wanted which would improve the viewing experience. The bar is very laid back, with a mixed crowd. Recommend. read more

The Rooftop Bar - the view of the city - Bars Near Me - Wilmington, North Carolina

If you're looking for a fancy rooftop bar- this ain't it. If you're looking for a cool spot to hang with a good bartender, this is it. No frills, small bar atop a roof featuring views of the surrounding area. Loud music playing, definitely a locals type joint. read more

The Rooftop Bar - Vodka soda - Bars Near Me - Wilmington, North Carolina

In town visiting - so stopped in for a quick drink and catch the view from the rooftop - service was friendly and quick - was empty because it was early (about 7pm) side note: this is located in a building that has residential apartments read more

The Rooftop Bar - View from rooftop - Bars Near Me - Wilmington, North Carolina

Cool place to hang out or dance. Bartender is friendly, they had a DJ when we went and a little area open for everyone to dance in, or you could sit at the bar and hang out. Not the best views, but not the worst. read more

What a cool venue, you feel like you are in Prison looking through the Fence to Freedom, Man put a Little money into it. Some much better places with Roof Tops with better unobstructed view of the River and City. They have a bar but dont ask for anything too fancy they will let you down. So, if your stuck for a place to go, okay, but ...there are better places in Town. read more

Have come several times between live music sometimes friendly staff and great views of waterfront decent place to go. Not overly crowded each time I've been but smaller area vs other bars read more

The Rooftop Bar - Outdoor area with seating - Bars Near Me - Wilmington, North Carolina

A younger crowd. They have no provisions for disabled to get to the top. You have to climb the stairs even though they have a staff elevator. Each floor has a different vibe. Second floor is karaoke. I would not go back. It's good for the 20-30 age group but older would feel awkward read more

Great bartender. She's wonderful. Great service. Great atmosphere. Better to go during the week. Not so crowded.

This spot has been around for a few decades now. I have many memories here. The view is beautiful except for all of the construction. The major downfall of this place is the 5 story walk up to the bar or the scary as all get out elevator. The elevator holds like 4 people and is so hot and slow. The bar itself is fun but sometimes you really don't walk the 5 flights. There are 2 bars and they have live music or DJ's. read more

We went on a Friday at 7pm, there were no signs for getting to the 4 flights of stairs. They were in the middle of painting and there was painters tape everywhere. No draft beer. 2 other people were here outside of my party. Maybe cooler at night read more

Came here around 7:00 on a Friday night. There were only a couple other people but I'm sure it gets much busier later on. It's located on the 5th floor of a building on Front Street right by the water. They had the bar sectioned off with glass doors and you could still go outside and see the view. They had heaters inside which made it very cozy. Friendly service and great view, pretty basic, but great vibes would definitely come back here! read more

Brooke is the best bartender PERIOD!! Go see her!!! She is very nice and takes her time helping each customer. Had great recommendations as well! read more

Amazing service, great prices, and stunning view. Order the whiskey sour, trust me they so good.

Handed the bartender $100, and gave me back change for a $20. Told him I gave him $100, he checked and said no. I only had $100 bills on me so I know for a fact. Threatened to kick me out because I called him out on it. Never got the $$ back. Watch out for these scam artists read more

Asked the bartender for a few different cocktails and he said he couldn't make those/he didn't have the stuff for it, which is no big deal. I asked for a Paloma and he said "Yeah I can make that." Dude made the worst margarita I've ever tasted in my life. I think it was just tequila and watered down mix. Don't waste your time- go somewhere else. Music is too loud and it smells. BUT, they do allow dogs! read more

smelled like poop instead of checking peoples ids they need to be checking their diapers

I've been coming right past this place without stopping for the last 35 years. So, we were in town for my daughters college orientation. We were walking by as usual and for some reason when they guy out front on the stool invited us in, we accepted and I'm glad we did. It is a dive and an old looking place, but once you get past the slow elevator to the 5th floor the views are really nice and the drinks are priced right also. We definitely will be back again. We did not get any food and didn't see anyone else with food on the rooftop bar, but it is a great place for a drink or two. We were there on a Saturday afternoon. read more

Our cocktail had a piece of plastic in it and the draft beer was room temperature at best. Terrible service from bartenders even though the place was nearly empty! read more

We lived in Wilmington for 4 years and visited Level 5 ( now Rooftop Bar) all of the time. We had 2 "Wetting Down" parties there and always had a great time. For those of you who want to bitch and moan about the place remember you are not in NYC or someplace with super high drink prices. It is a fun place to hang out, dance, and drink. How many of you have parties and use crystal glasses. From the reviews I read, I would say not many. Take it for what it is, enjoy the view, and relax. If all you have to do is complain stay home! read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. Last time I came here in 2019 this was an amazing place to dance, great view of the city, no cover for ladies - but apparently things have changed in a big way since we waited 45 minutes in line last night and paid $15 only to be told we couldn't go in because we had a LEGAL delta 8 cart on us. Security were total assholes and screamed at my girlfriend even though she wasn't aware of any rule about bringing in carts. I promise there are a million better places to dance in Wilmington than this jank-ass place - like Ibiza, which has WAY nicer staff, just as an example (: read more

This place was great. Cheap $5 cover, good beer selection, and really fun bands until later in the evening when they had a great DJ. Younger crowd, but still enjoyable. The bar staff was on point with our beers, and they were on special for $3.50. Hard to beat!! read more

This place is full of con artists, you pay $5 to get in and they ask for More money. This is place is trash. They asked me to calm down after they asked me for more money after climbing 5 flights of stairs. read more

Great place and we were there in August. Staff was great. Appetizers were good but weather was a bit chilly. They provided blankets as well as a gas fireplace read more

Just nope. Nice view, but that's where it ends. Good chance you'll get kidnapped on the stairs and wake up in a bathtub full of ice missing an organ or two. One bartender and he didn't acknowledge us for at least 15 minutes and served others that came in after us. Don't waste your time. Take your time and money elsewhere. read more

3 stars for the great view of Wilmington! Otherwise, this place is just a typical, basic bar. Not a ton on tap and not a place that offers "fancy" cocktails, if that's what you're looking for. We came at an off hour on a Wednesday but I can imagine this is the type of place that can get a little rage-y later in the night. The bartender was very friendly and attentive; we did appreciate being greeted as soon as we walked outside. read more

My new favorite place in Wilmington! The view is unbelievable and overlooks the city. As a cocktail fanatic I love the mixology behind the recipes. I will definitely be back read more

We stopped by on Saturday night. The view was great, but the staff were even better. Good price drinks, and we liked the music. Will definitely be going back this summer. read more

Was not aloud in because my boyfriends jeans had holes??? Lol fuck that. What bar has dress code??? Fuck rooftop bar.

Poor Design, Felt Like a Baking Oven, and Smelly! The beer was warm and stinky. The beer lines are needing cleaning. The ** star is due to Lesbian event - who were rude, cheap, inconsiderate and blatantly did NOT like men at a public bar. *The only reason we were there was to help support something good, which was to help support and fund a good cause - help someone's hospital bills. read more

Although it has the best view in town and pretty typically drinks, it always seems dirty. However, it may have the grosses bathroom rooms I've ever been in. Last night, only one stall locked, wet seats, toilet paper everywhere, one toilet overflowing onto the ground, and we had to ask the staff to please provide soap. I've been here multiple times and it's pretty much always like this by midnight. read more

Very friendly owner and staff! Great Views! Perfect for a sunset pre-dinner drink!

Bar tender friendly and accommodating. Ample dancing room with an energetic DJ playing a mix of contemporary and old school dance songs. Tell all your friends because if there are not enough customers they close early. read more

Stopped in for a drink and rest after walking the Azalea fest. The bar was not crowded when we got there. Barmaid (Mishell) provided the paper work to become members so she could serve us. Paperwork was completed, we received our membership card and then she totally ignored us! Sat there for about 5 minutes and she would not take our drink order. Four people walked in after us, she gave them the paperwork and took their drink order and served them. Then, two groups of about 6 walked in....she prepared their mixed drinks/served them beer and would not even make eye contact with us. This continued for the rest of our time there. Needless to day, after about 20 minutes, we ripped up our paperwork and left. I usually only leave positive reviews, but she was awful and I think overwhelmed. Too bad, because the place has an awesome view and atmosphere. They just need a replacement for "Mishell". But at least we got a free membership! read more

Unprofessional, incomplete for a long time, and not the most intelligent. Not worth the cover charge and drinks are expensive

Do not come here. They will rip you off. We were dropped off here by the trolley pub tour, and they still charged my boyfriend a $5 cover. We came back later and they didn't let us in without an additional "membership" fee, despite just having been there. Ridiculous. read more

Went here last night with my husband thinking we were going to enjoy the view and have a nice after dinner drink. Boy was I mistaken. I would have given it no stars but you had to choose at least one for the review. The place serves drinks in plastic cups and has a horrible atmosphere. Drab and stinky from restaurants exhausts. If it wasn't for the view we would have left right away. Really have to say horrible. There is not enough seating and the seating that they had was trashy. Could be a great place if they put some comfy chairs and nice bar tables and use glass to serve drinks. One positive is that the drink prices were good but really plastic cups! read more

1st time in Wilmington, NC. Drove down from Charlotte for the WellsFargo Championship game. After watching the game all day decided to go back to my hotel on the river (Hilton Riverfront is fabulous by the way). After refreshing and relaxing for a bit I decided to take a stroll downtown. While walking downtown I couldn't help but notice one of the historic buildings roofs were lit up. As I got closer the curiosity intensified. As it so happened it was a rooftop BAR! Just what I was looking for after a long hot day. Up the elevator I went, I met a nice young man named Cam. He was very knowledgeable about the area and give me advice on what I should check out while in town. The few cocktails he made were awesome, not to mention the view of the bridge in the background. I would def recommend this spot as a must see while visiting Wilmington. read more

A hidden gem with some of the best downtown views, especially at sunset! If you're looking to get your dance on, Friday and Saturday nights are the best with a local fav DJ, great breeze and diverse crowd. Not to mention some of the friendliest staff ever! read more

Excellent spot to relax with company and a few drinks. The prices are extremely reasonable and ambiance undeniable. There is ample space to dance and a dj spinning contemporary beats for the crowd. You do have to climb stair to get there so don't think there isn't work involved. read more
