It was quite confusing to find the meetup point at the beginning, but asking the hotel staff did help us getting there. We went on the high-tide day so needed to walk a bit from the usual boarding area. Probably helpful to remind people wearing slippers as you'd need to take shoes off. They did provide proper and plenty storage spaces for your footwear on the boat (appreciated!). Drinks were pretty much bottomless and they had their very own Mai Tai so you could really enjoy the 'complete Hawaiian package'! The only problem with high tide day, it meant be prepped to get wet and going on and off the boat would be quite tricky as you needed to manage timing to avoid the tide from getting you soaking wet. I was unfortunately not the pro and literally got half-bottom wet, getting off the boat LOL. Paid off by the gorgeous sunset view!!

One of the girls was learning on our charter last night, and the older team member was patiently explaining how to do things but nothing was held up. Beautiful views. Strong drinks with name brand liquors. Clean bathrooms. Plenty of seating and the boat was NOT PACKED. This was not one of those party boats with 100 people crammed onto hard plastic benches. Cushions, cool chairs above the nets. GREAT MUSIC. Would *highly* recommend. If you don't just go with the cheapest option, pick this place.

We went snorkeling and sailed for 4 hours! Seems like a long time but it felt more like 1 hour. Time flies while you're having fun! We saw lots of fish and my favorite!... Honu! Every step from booking to sailing was clear, concise, and time-efficient. BEFORE THE SAIL: About a week prior to our trip from mainland to Oahu, I contacted Kiah to schedule a sailing excursion. Communication via phone, text, and email made the process easy and time-efficient. She was prompt in responding and the reservation was set quickly. With the busy-ness of traveling, I appreciated the reminder texts and emails! DAY OF: We arrived at Kewalo Basin Harbor,Pier C (at the end of the parking area) and called Sail Honu as instructed. We entered through the gate, walked to the end of the pier, and met our friendly sailing crew of 2: Kiah and Natalie. *It was a special treat to see a honu (turtle) floating in the water nearby! After some brief instructions, we left the dock for our 2-hour sail. Once anchored at sea, you can snorkel (equipment provided), sit in the ocean in a floating chair (tethered to the boat), or relax on the boat netting. *Natalie was out in the water and found a big starfish! Both Kiah and Natalie are the BEST! They are friendly, knowledgable, and very accommodating. We were in good hands with them in charge of the sail. HIGHLY RECOMMEND SAIL HONU!!!

She is a phenomenal captain and her first mate (and crew, per all of Sail Honu reviews on Google and here on Yelp) are top notch, have high EQ, and actually care about the guest experience, the coral reef, honu, sea life, teaching, and more. They work hard to understand weather patterns so you aren't out on the water ending up in a predicament. Anything can happen, of course, but if it can knowingly be prevented for your protection, they will ensure safety! Outside of the technical aspect, SO MUCH FUN! These ladies have amazing senses of humor, great taste in music, and treat you well by ensuring you have everything you need. It's BYOB and they will serve what you bring, and ask if you need refills throughout the time together. We had four in our group and expected to have a great time, but it really was the best time...better than anticipated because of Kiah and Malia. Everything for parking, directions, rules, what to bring, wear, etc., is sent in advance, along with reminder texts and emails. I typically use rideshare, so that too was easy to provide to the driver. I have booked other catamaran tours here on Oahu... this is my go-to from now on!!!

We were served cocktails and pupu's throughout the trip. The crew were so friendly and helpful. The yacht and catamaran was clean, with smooth sailing. We even saw a monk seal along the way. My friends booked Royal Hawaiian Catamaran for my bachelorette and birthday party. Shout out to our…read morecrew Kalani, Jacob, Adam, and Eric (trainee). They made this part of my trip such an amazing memory. I was not involved in the initial communication or booking of the catamaran, but my friends said it went smoothly. Our time slot was on a Saturday 12:30pm for 3 hours, which I thought was the perfect amount of time. We requested a spot that was secluded and away from other boats, and the team delivered. They provided a bunch of floaties (including a giant inflatable one shaped like a diamond ring) for us to chill on. The net at the back of the boat was roomy enough to fit all of us. They pointed out different animals to us - we saw dolphins, sea turtles, sea urchin, sea cucumber and an octopus! Some specific examples of their great service: - One of the girls' hats flew off due to the wind, and the crew did a U-turn and fished the hat out of the water for her. - One of the girls unfortunately got bad sea sickness. The crew quickly gave her ice to chew on and provided tips on how to reduce the nausea. They were quick to clean up any mess. - They continuously checked in to see if we needed any refreshments or had song requests. Their music taste was on point the entire time, so we actually didn't even need to change the song. - They offered to take multiple pictures of our group at different angles and on different areas of the boat. When reflecting on my bach/birthday weekend, a lot of the girls said the boat was their favorite part. This was definitely a splurge (especially since we only had 8 people and opted for a private catamaran), but it was well worth it!

This place is a scam! Run far far away!…read more Set up sailing lessons and certifications with these folks months ago. Came to Hawaii specifically to do these sailing certifications. Spent the last few months studying the books to pass the tests. When the week came for me to go sailing with Honolulu Sailing Company, I kept getting the emails about my upcoming reservation but no details about when to meet the captain at the marina. I tried calling, leaving voicemails, and emailing. No reply. On the day of my first lesson, I went down to the marina, no one around. No one else with boats around their slip knew anything. Tried going over to their office listed on their website and the suite number doesn't exist. Have filed a fraud claim with the credit card company. Time will tell if I get my several thousand dollars back for the lessons. Won't get my time back. Learn from my mistake and avoid this place at all costs.
