Booked the sunset cruise for Christmas day and didn't regret it. Captain JJ and crew were awesome, friendly and attentive. Check in was easy on the sand near the catamaran. The crew was nice and waited 10 minutes past departure time for these late people (read your emails and be respectful of others by being on time!!). Then it was smooth sailing for 1.5 hours as the sun set. There's a bathroom on board for #1 only, and they had the drinks flowing. The playlist was perfect and great for a chill night into the sunset. Except for this one drunk chick hanging on the railing and hitting me once as she stumbled and then later spilling her drink all over the seat behind me (crew was there in a second with a towel!), the ride was perfect. My niece and I had reserved to go out with them back about a month ago during the time we were having some strong winds. The morning of our reservation we were contacted to say the excursion was cancelled due to strong seas. They offered us a refund or to book at another time. We booked for the next day, hoping the conditions were better. We got down to the beach fronting Duke's at the Outrigger and saw the catamaran for the earlier trip getting ready to go out. We were hopeful. Unfortunately, they had to cancel our trip because the cat that had left previously had to turn around and come back because it was still too rough. We were provided with refunds. Because of their great customer service alone, I'll try these folks again and pray for calmer seas. read more

If you want to snorkel in Waikiki this is your place! I can't say enough good things about my experience. We got a text the morning of our snorkel saying they had boat problems that morning but they were really communicative and quickly got us on a tour just 2 hours later than our original booking. The crew was fantastic! Captain JJ and the other guys were super chill, very knowledgeable and always helpful. This was a definite highlight of the trip. Seeing the turtles was incredible and although I could have stayed in the water for hours more, it was fun to go back to the boat and have a couple drinks. They had a cooler filled with mai tais (which were delicious) as well as some Coronas. Overall great experience and great vibes all around!! Highly, highly recommend! read more

This was such a fun experience, the views and the vibe were amazing! The staff were so nice and provided nice drinks to us. Honolulu is so beautiful and this activity really allowed us to see the beauty of the island. They played nice vibe music and everyone on the boat even those who didn't know each other were so friendly and happy. We were all in such a good mood. Three alcoholic beverages were included in the tour. Another thing I found really good is the customer service. A few of the guests had difficulty finding the boat and when calling into the company for assistance they were able to help, notify the team on the boat so we could wait a few minutes for them. It was tough trying to find a snorkeling adventure... my friend and I kind of just picked a convenient one and relatively decent price. This one literally picked us up right outside our hotel which was a plus. I'm giving the experience 5 stars because the crew was cool & for a quick snorkel trip, we had our moneys worth. And it was really surreal to be that close to turtles. We saw at least 7! And while there were a multitude of fish, I definitely saw 5 different types. The less than 5 stars parts: it goes to the same little place close by to Waikiki beach and where many other snorkeling and diving boats go as well. The reef is pretty dreary... which sadly I wasn't expecting it to be anything better because I know reefs are dying all over. There really wasn't much time to enjoy the complimentary drinks because you were basically in the water for most of the time to snorkel. And they ran out of fins so my friend didn't get to have the same mobility and experience as I did. But again, for what it's worth, I enjoyed the little adventure! read more

We loved our sail! We stayed in Waikiki at the Moana Surfrider and the boat was already docked right on the beach in front of our hotel which made it super convenient.... I am only giving it 3 stars because it didn't sail for very long, it only took us out past the surf and once we got to the turtle canyon, which you could see from the beach, it was super murky (even tho I believe that was due to the windy conditions) but we couldn't see any sea life which was a bummer. Once we got on the boat we only had time for one of the 3 drinks we were promised. Overall the crew was super sweet and accommodating, the boat was awesome, we just would've liked a longer sail, to see turtles and to have had time to enjoy drinks. read more

We were looking for a snorkeling experience closeby to our hotel and found out about this catamaran a couple of days earlier. We didn't feel like driving an hour to find a decent snorkeling spot nor did we feel like purchasing a tour. We knew the price and the times and decided to give it a try last minute after breakfast. After going to our hotel room to change and grab a few items, we headed over to the boat (in our bathing suits) with towels, sunscreen, and water. With about 5 minutes to spare, one crew member happily checked us in and we took off soon after. On the boat, the passengers were given instructions and then gear once we arrived at the destination. We arrived at a "turtle cleaning station" where fish clean the turtle's shell. We saw several turtles and lots of fish. The turtles are huge and we saw many fish. The hubby had a blast and was one of the last out of the water. I unfortunately, only lasted about 15-20 minutes because I forgot to take a pill for sea sickness and became dizzy in the water. I still had fun and enjoyed the views and the cool breeze from on top of the catamaran. We would do this again but next time, I'll take an antiemetic b4!!! read more

Such a cool experience! A bunch of my coworkers and I went on a Friday afternoon from 3:30-5, which is a nice time BUT I would recommend the sunset slot instead because it's not as hot and the lighting is incredible. There were a total of 11 guests and 3 staff on our sail so we had tons of room to walk around and get all the views!! The staff offers complimentary Maitais and Corona AND they're excellent photographers (probably cause they do this all the time and know all the angles and lighting!). Highly recommend! read more

Really great experience! I booked two spots for my partner and I. They provide flippers, great music, and refreshments on the boat. Do remember to bring your own towels though as those aren't provided. The boat ride was really awesome and the crew was all super down to earth and fun to talk to. The boat overall was calming and there were tons of turtles swimming past us. To preface, I'm a very very bad swimmer, so I freaked out and almost drowned while snorkeling at Turtle Cove. Thankfully, a crewmate Alek saved me from drowning and I'm hella thankful. They weren't judgemental at all about my near-death experience nor swimming skills and they were really nice about it. Plus-- I'm still alive, thriving, and writing this great review now. Definitely book a visit with them if you're looking to snorkel on Turtle Cove! This was a really cool excursion to do while in Waikiki! We chose the sunset cruise with this company and it was amazing! The drinks, drivers, and people made the event even better! You start out on the catamaran and go out about 4-5 miles catching the sunset. If you're lucky like us, you might even get to catch a glimpse of a whale or sea life. Rather than book a snorkel event, I chose to partake in the Sunset Sail and I can't begin to express how amazing this was! Checkin was rather easy as the individual verified our credentials before allowing us to board. The boat was clean, in good shape and sponsors the Corona logo throughout. We departed just before sunset for a just shy of two hours. On board, seating is first come, first served. Drinks are included as part of the package and consist of either corona or their custom mai tai mix. Drink one or drink twenty as the bar is all you can drink for the entirety of your sail. The staff aboard were amazing, full of life and genuinely care about giving those on board a memory they won't forget! The music was of good taste with plenty of room to see the sights or dance. If you're looking for a good time for relatively cheap ($40.00 at the time of my booking), then a sunset sail is definitely for you! Give it a try as there isn't much to lose! read more

This catamaran business has a boarding point outside of the hotel we were staying at for our Waikiki staycation/birthday getaway. My wife was on the beach and spoke with one of the reps about times and cost which she thought was a good deal at the time. She came back up to the room to tell me we were doing a catamaran/ snorkel ride in a bit so we all got ready. When we got down to the boat and discussed payment, the price had increased significantly from what my wife was told. A huge miscommunication which I could understand as the rep started telling me about prices and I was confused. This is problematic from a customer perspective if a rep is verbalizing numerous price plans instead of having a pamphlet. It shouldn't be that challenging to consume the info and know what your cost is as a customer. My wife asked what I wanted to do based on the new price plan for the five of us. It was hard to say no and look at other options considering we were ready to board and get on with the day. We boarded and sailed out for about 15 mins before stopping at a turtle cleaning station to snorkel with the fish and turtles. For one of my kids, it was his first time snorkeling and seeing turtles in nature so there was a wow factor to be able to swim with them. My family enjoyed the snorkeling to some degree but the equipment was not quality. No flippers were provided which made it challenging to swim, and even float as flippers provide some assistance. They do offer a jacket for floating assistance. I don't think I've ever been snorkeling without flippers so this was odd. The snorkel itself didn't have a "snorkel intake" to prevent water from coming in. I was used to having one and was distressed by the influx of water, even with trying to keep the tube straight up in the water. I got to the point where I thought I had a hole in the tube and was drinking endless amounts of salt water. I became so distressed that I started to panic as I kept blowing out without success. My family also noted issues with trying to keep the water out of the snorkel, and my wife even returned to get a lifejacket to assist. She had issues trying to swim without flippers to where the lifejacket assisted but one of the reps in the water even offered to tow her which blew my mind. After five minutes of being in the water I turned around and went back on the boat for the rest of the trip. I've snorkeled with the turtles and fish in the past to where I didn't need the stress. I watched my family from the boat, drank water to clear my throat, and then enjoyed some mai tais. They offer free drinks- soda, water, mai tais. My wife and kids love their ice and they have some top notch ice on this boat if you're an ice eater. After snorkeling, we sailed around for a bit to fill the time before heading back. There was one other patron on the boat which made it safer from a COVID perspective. Once onboard, masks could be removed although it was challenging to social distance. We have our own snorkel gear at home but didn't bring it on this staycation. I think I might refuse to snorkel in the future without checking on the type of gear being provided or using my own. This was an enjoyable trip for the family but the confusion in the pricing plan and lack of quality snorkel gear detracted from it being a great experience. read more

They look after everyone at all levels of swimming ability and do their best to help view turtles and fish at a respectful distance on a reef off Waikiki. It's fun! You aren't rushed, and afterwards they treat you to a mini harbour cruise on the Catamaran with a couple of drinks. Great value for money and highly recommended. Being my first time in Hawaii and being an avid snorkeler, I couldn't pass the opportunity of going for a dive on Oahu. I contacted a few companies for a same day booking. Most of them were fully booked and could not accommodate. But this company was able to find us 2 spots on their catamaran. The rally point is really convenient as it's on Waikiki beach. Not too far to go from our hotel. You can relax and have something at Duke's while you wait. EASY... I like easy. The catamaran was on time. Checking and boarding was easy. The crew was nice. Drinking water is offered before diving and beer/soft drinks after. My only "down" and the reason why I'm not giving 5 stars, it just feel all too commercial. I get it... they're here to make a living. Take my money and sayonara. At the end, I understood that all the snorkeling boat are going to the exact same spot. Tons of divers for a few turtles (although the encounter was still quite magical, I've never swim so close from them). The coral is dead and I'm impressed that they're were still a few different fishes. I counted about a dozen different species. Another "downside"... what is the point to be on a catamaran if you only use the engine? Anyway... it was a quick in and out trip to snorkel for about 1h on the spot. Nothing more, nothing less. It was nice, but nothing special. So when it comes to choosing a snorkeling company, just chose the most convenient one from where you're staying, because at the end, you'll do just the same thing as the others. read more

Take this 2 hour sunset cruise, and not the 1 hour one (even though the latter is cheaper). What a wonderful team on this cruise! Though the Captain looked young (sorry I forgot his name), his skilled showed otherwise. Belle was also amazing in getting the 2 sails up (by herself!). Both, she and Dylan were so gracious towards all of the guests, not only making sure that we were ok with drinks, but also taking photos for us and helping us get the right shots. When we went to Hawaii in 2021 we enjoyed a sunset cruise and it was one of the highlights of the trip. This time around in 2023 we chose this company for a Happy Hour Sail. It was worth every penny. You are advised to arrive 30 minutes prior to sail time, so for us that was 3:30pm. I recommend that if you have a car, to park at the International Marketplace and then walk to the Outrigger hotel. The Manu Kai Catamaran sits right in front of Duke's restaurant, which is inside the Outrigger. You will see a little clapboard stand and they will check you in there. Wear clothes & footwear you don't mind getting wet as you will get wet boarding and you do have to climb some steps to get into the catamaran. Even on board, you might get splashed. They start serving you some happy hour drinks right away - either a beer or a pre-mixed Mai Tai. I loved the Mai Tai. They were very generous and kept us filled up the entire time. Make sure to tip! We loved our boat ride - great vibe, great views, great music, and lovely staff. Highly recommend. read more

Second crew was a different Dave, Siena and Chloe. They were all awesome and made the experience one I won't forget. Booked my snorkeling trip for myself and two others for 12PM today. Showed up at 12:02 PM and they had just started putting up their ramp. I frantically waved them down and they saw me, pulled the ramp all the way up, and took off. Tried calling to get a refund or reschedule and the lady on the phone was super rude no told me they wouldn't do anything for me. They have a VERY lengthy email that tells you to arrive 30 minutes prior; but if you're like every other tourist booking a hundred things, you'll likely miss it. They didn't send any kind of confirmation follow up nor did they easily explain that the booking was actually for 11:30AM and not 12PM. Whoever is running their marketing needs to do a way better job of explaining that the booking times are deceptive and lack easily digestible information. I had to call my credit card company to dispute the transaction, which is the last thing I wanted to do on vacation. This business could use a class on customer service and ethics. read more

There are several snorkeling venders in this area but Manu Kai are reasonably priced, professional, safe, and my entire family enjoyed the entire experience. You will only really go out ~500 yards off the coast to a reef where there are always large turtles getting cleaned by tropical fish. Most of your time will be spent in the water, snorkeling with a life vest. You should be a decent swimmer to go on the trip since the waves can get a little rough since there will be several small boats coming in and out of this area. My 7 year old is a strong swimmer for his age and was fine during the whole time. They serve all you can (reasonably ) drink sodas, water, and alcohol, which would have been nice for the ride back had I not swallowed a bunch of sea water :) The only complaint I have is that the loading area isn't clearly marked. All the tour boats literally park right on the beach where people are trying to sunbathe and surf in front of Duke's restaurant. In January 2022 they only required proof of vax or neg c19 test for people 13 and older. My youngest wasn't eligible for the shot so this policy helped my family make our decision but we still got him tested a few times while in Hawaii so that we weren't restricted elsewhere. read more

I originally called to see if there was spots for the 4th of July fireworks sailing but the women on the phone said it was sold out. She offered to take my name/number in case there were openings. I honestly didn't expect them to write it down, but the day before the sail I got a call and two spots had opened. I booked the package and was sent a confirmation email with all the details on where to meet, etc. Day of the sail, the pickup point was easily identifiable and I got there just as the sunset cruise was coming in to drop off people. The check in process was easy, give your name, sign, and go on board. I was also surprised to see the attempts made by the crew to locate two people who didn't show up for check in. They were calling multiple times, looking on the beach, etc. I thought they'd just leave, but I was very impressed Once started sailing, they did a safety briefing and the bar opened up - open bar! The crew was very appreciative for the tips and didn't seem pushy at all. Other catamarans I've been on made it uncomfortable - constantly saying you take care of me, I take care of you, every time you order a "open bar" drink. But not here, it was very friendly and comfortable environment. The captain took us right up to the perimeter of the fireworks and had a great time!
