    Prettiest sunset ever :)
    Carly B.

The sunset sail was amazing!! Kiah and Sabrina were awesome, the vibe was intimate and fun, and the crew made the experience even better. Aside from the sunset sail, the swim & sail pricing is also hard to beat compared to other Waikiki options. Definitely recommend checking it out! 10/10

Sail Honu is THE boat tour to take in Waikiki!!!! Our crew, Kiah and Sabrina made our sunset cruise laid back, fun, and we also learned a lot about boats, wind, and general Hawaiian ocean knowledge. The sunset cruise felt both personal and super professional. I can't recommend them enough and you won't find a better price anywhere. We want to go on another cruise as soon as possible!!!

We cannot thank Mina and Natalie enough for their excellent hospitality (and Captain skills) on our private sunset cruise. Everything felt effortless and my husband and I finally got to see a real Hawaiian Sunset for our anniversary. We will certainly include Sail Honu in future visits to this beautiful island, and wish Sail Honu continued growth and prosperity. Thank you!

Marsha loved Hawaii. It was not a chance encounter that we met. I was blessed that Marsha was in my life since 1991. So in her final years, when it became too hard for her to travel to Hawaii from the mainland, I did what I could to bring Hawaii to her. Well, in November 2024, Marsha succumbed to cancer. I was fully prepared to fly to the mainland for a funeral but her surviving sibling told me that Marsha only had one wish.... She wanted her ashes mailed to me so that she could be at peace, back in beautiful Hawaii. After I cried, the one and only thing I knew she wanted, without any instructions.....I knew she wanted a sunset sail out because that's how she and her husband got married in 1995 here. I received her ashes through USPS in January and called several boat operations to try and schedule an ash scattering. Thankfully, Sail Honu was available and I secured the private sunset charter with them. From start to finish, Captain Kiah was truly remarkable in communicating with me to prepare for Marsha's send-off. I was provided with clear information and a variety of options, to ensure love, dignity, and respect for the ashes that I was entrusted with. Captain Kiah greeted us at Pier C. and we left our slippers in their storage box. She led us on board and gave us all the safety protocol. We left the harbor and instantly, we knew this was going to be special, something Marsha would have really loved. The ocean was calm. We had a gentle breeze. And the sun felt so perfect as we headed towards Diamond Head. When we reached the perfect spot, Captain Kiah turned the music off so I could say a prayer in our intimate setting before releasing the ho'okupu into the ocean. After we tossed the orchids into the water and said our goodbyes, Captain Kiah circled the area three times and noted our coordinates. Thank you Kiah and Natalie for helping us with a respectful and dignified endeavor. Our photo and video documentation of this sunset sail out and ash scattering could not have been anything but perfect. Marsha's family and friends on the mainland will appreciate the pictures and videos of this special moment.

Can't recommend Sail Honu highly enough! Having a private boat was so much better than one of the large, 40+ people boats. Kiah and Jenna were fantastic, taking us to a snorkel spot where no one else was, making great conversation, and keeping the grandmas well "hydrated" while we snorkeled. Jenna swam with our 2 kids, freeing my wife and me to explore on our own for a bit.

Amazing experience! We've done both the sunset and firework trips before but with other companies. My favorite out of all of them was the sail we took yesterday with this company. Our crew was amazing with the boat and even better hosts. When we come back, we plan to book with them again!

    Great view of Diamond Head

Captain Kiah and Natalie were AWESOME. We were the only group to book in the boat so it was like a private tour. It was unbelievably affordable for the experience. Both Kiah and Natalie were very hospitable. Kiah made sure all of our needs were catered to and Natalie took us on the BEST snorkel adventure. We saw the coolest sea life! I loved this experience so much, and I will be recommending Sail Honu Hawaii to everyone I know.

    The best crew!

Holy cow this boat experience was incredible!! Such a fantastic boat, concept, and mission from the owners. Our trip had an all female crew- Kiah and Jenna and they were fantastic. Very attentive, friendly, and genuine. They talked story with us all throughout the journey and made the ride extra comfortable - like we were just hanging out with friends and having a day on the boat. The sailing was incredible on the trimaran (different from a catamaran), views were immaculate and stopping off to swim was a favorite. They provide snorkels and fins for you, also will jump in to point things out!! I loved this experience so much and cannot wait to do it again with friends and/or family. Much aloha.

My friend and I took the sunset sail and there were two other guests. The crew was friendly and the sail was very pleasant. Great activity and would recommend

My partner loves turtles, which is why we were so eager to find a memorable experience during our next trip. We found the Living Ocean Tours Turtle Canyon experience through Viator and paid about $80/person which we felt was incredibly reasonable. We saw prior reviews stating that the best time to go is early morning, so we decided to take the first boat out. This was honestly a pro tip as we were not only one of three small groups on the boat, but were also the first boat out to the canyon making the experience feel intimate and memorable! We met the amazing crew who were so knowledgable, friendly, and safety-savvy. The ride itself took about 15 minutes each way. Once we arrived, we felt totally confident swimming out with the provided snorkels, life jackets, and flippers after completing the safety lecture. The crew also emphasized protection of wildlife, instructing us to do our very best to stay 10 ft away or more from the turtles. At times, the turtles would come close to us without our knowledge, so we were also instructed on how to gently swim away when this occurred to maintain safe distance. We spent about an hour and a half total in the water, which was more than enough time to see loads of turtles. When it was time to return, we enjoyed complimentary snacks and drinks on the boat. Thank you Living Ocean Tours for providing us with the experience of a lifetime! We would recommend Living Ocean Tours to friends, family, or anyone looking for a safe, comfortable, and immersive turtle viewing experience!

None of the other guides from other companies got off their boards, let alone free dove 40ft to try to get the reef shark to leave its rock so everyone could see it. She also provided many of our crew with their own free dive instruction so that they could try as well. Amazing trip, amazing sights, even better crew!

I had the hesitation to book it due to the fact my son is on the spectrum and wasn't sure how he was going to react during the experience. Took the chance and made a reservation through Hawaii Ocean Sports. They took us on a boat to access the beautiful Sandbar. It's nestled in the middle of the ocean 3 miles stretch of sand. Unfortunately, we ended up doing the afternoon tour where high tides took place water level up to our necks. During our ride there, we were served lunch consisting of a turkey sandwich, fruits, and a cookie. Very filling as we were on to our destination while we listened to live music entertaining us along the way. Snacks, towels, drinks, and a bar are available for additional cost. As we approached the Sandbar, we were required to do a brief safety class before heading into the beautiful water. My kids and I were surprised how magnificent the Sandbar was. Definitely a true paradise where our dreams came true. I didn't think I would ever experience this kind of beauty. My son and I were terrified at first as we entered the water, but our life jackets saved us as we were floating. Lots of activities offered which are part of the package including SUP, kayaking, volleyball, snorkeling, or relaxing at the dock while sipping on drinks. We mainly enjoyed ourselves floating in the ocean. The current did get a little rough as it started to pour rain right before heading back to the marina. One advice is to head out early onto the boat before everyone does because the changing and bathrooms can get wet with dirty grounds. Music was blasting with great hits as we ended the day. Made my son and I stand up desiring to dance. Truly this is an unforgettable magical experience. You bet I will make a reservation again when we return to Oahu next year!

We know the state now has a lottery that requires you to sign up 2 days in advance, and the tickets go quickly. We did not want to risk not getting to go, so we booked an excursion, as they are given spaces for their guests.I checked the reviews and choices and booked with Hanauma Bay Snorkel Adventures several weeks before our trip. We know that mornings are best for water clarity and calmer surf - and we've found the fish tend to be more abundant in the AM, so we booked the morning slot. We received emails and were told the van would pick us up at our Waikiki hotel at 5:40 a.m. We were waiting a few minutes, and then the van came to our hotel. We climbed in, and with 2 other couples and the driver, we were off in the dark. First stop was their dive shop - on the way, on the other side of Diamond Head. Snorkel gear was distributed (we brought our own), and then we climbed into the van and drove a short distance to the Hanauma Bay entrance. We gathered as a small group and went into the park together (you'll bring $25 cash each person for the Hanauma Bay ticket - not included in the excursion payment). There is a mandatory short movie (around 15 minutes) that is primarily a primer to keep the reef and marine life safe. We took the free tram down to the bay (you can also walk - a bit of a steep hill). They have bathrooms with changing stalls at the beach. We were on the beach as the sun's first rays shone across the bay - it was a beautiful morning. We got in 3 separate snorkel sessions going out into zone 2 (through the buoys and past the first reef) where it's deeper, and we saw greater numbers of fish. If this is your first time snorkeling or you are less experienced, I would caution you to check with the lifeguards on the beach before doing this.About 3 hours later, it was time to pack up, and we took the tram to the top, where we waited a few minutes with the group we traveled with in the morning. Our van showed up and drove us straight back to our hotel. We very much enjoyed the day, but honestly would have preferred to be on our own so we could choose when we wanted to leave. But for many who visit Oahu and stay in Waikiki, this is a good way to snorkel at Hanauma Bay. NOTE: I do see a number of reviews that speak of rude staff and substandard transportation. Fortunately for us, we did not experience any of that on our trip.
