Amazing. The atmosphere is nothing like you can find in Central Connecticut. It's even better than its sibling in Windsor. This review is based mostly on the bar, drinks, and atmosphere. Not food. Went there last night with another couple for dinner. It wasn't too busy and they sat us right away. Took forever to get drinks ordered and when we finally ordered drinks and appetizers the waiter forgot my San Pelegrino, as well forgot who ordered what apps. My wife and I both ordered the steak medallions that took 25 minutes to get. Both were very "well done" when we wanted medium. Our friends' steak was perfect though. We waited another 20 minutes to get the new medallions and 2 out of the 3 on each plate were perfect. They picked a desert for us to take home, only to get home and find a piece of pie (great) and a white sauce in a jar. Then, I realized the white sauce was melted vanilla ice cream. I've eaten here several times over the past 2 years, however I don't go here of my own choosing. We've sat everywhere in the restaurant, including the bar. The place reminds me of an old beat up restaurant from the 70's and the owner, rumor has it is quite cheap. It is reflected in the décor, especially in the back room where in the winter cold, they drag out electric portable heaters...YES it is true and may I add, I think it's a fire hazard but at any rate it is pretty damn stupid to use. Now when you walk in, there's a fire place and the first impression is WOW how quaint, and most people may let that impression stick but the facts are facts. I go there cussing, kicking and screaming but I go because I get invited. BTW, hint for you, if you want a free meal, complain about the service, especially in the back room. The wait staff is good but I've heard customers bitch and moan and then laugh about getting a free meal. The night manager also runs the bar so the back room is an after thought and they hand out the freebies back there. Have fun. I vomited twice after eating there. Can't say it was the food for sure but I had a 22 year no vomit streak going when the first happened. Want a better place up here? go to LULU's, it's not pretentious. I am leaving 4 stars because I can't leave 3.5. Service was average on a night the wasn't busy. It took about 10-15mins before the waitress came over for the first time almost confused that we were part of her section. Both my wife and my meals were WAY over salted and this is coming from a guy that loves salt. This seems to be a trend with them and their parent restaurant in Windsor. Worst service ever would not come back. I had to keep asking other waitress for water, food etc...ordered a medium rear burger came out well done. I didn't even eat it and I was charged for it...saying that can't do nothing about it! Were visiting Connecticut and driving around decided to try Three Figs. The restaurant is casual and not busy in Wednesday night. Joshua was our waiter. after reading mixed reviews we decided to try this restaurant. In a nutshell: slow service, salty food, waiter needs more training: will try one more time. Environment is dark wood, tables were clean and comfortable. We parked in the back and walked through the back of the restaurant. Upon entering there is a large dining area that was prepped for dinner but vacant. We walked past that area and were greeted by a hostess who sat us immediately in a side room that can be rented out. Tables had paper napkin wrapped utensils. There were three other tables with diners. We were brought water and we ordered a couple of glasses of Pinot noir. Our son was not asked if he wanted to anything to drink. A few minutes later we our wine arrived. Joshua asked us if we were ready. We were not ready so Joshua politely said he would give us more time. After almost 8 mins Joshua came by to take our order. There were some special items in top of thee is. We had questions. He answered our questions. We ordered buffalo wings for appetizers(12 on the plate). We ordered our dinner which I ordered Chilean sea bass with pineapple sauce on top, baked kale and roasted Brussels sprouts. My husband ordered prosciutto wrapped chicken, with garlic potatoes and Brussels sprouts and my son ordered pasta with bacon cream sauce and onions. After waiting close to 20 mins our food arrived. We noticed we were the only table Josh was waiting on in the room and another edited helped the other tables. Our food was delayed, the service was slow. My Brussels sprouts and kale had a little too much salt and my husbands garlic potatoes were too salty. My son, a teenager, thought we were exaggerating. He said his food was good. Joshua never asked us if we liked our meal and seemed to be preoccupied with other tables in another room. We will try this place one more time, maybe lunch. read more

I went went here for a staff meeting with a table of 12 adults and 1 toddler. There was one person taking care of our table who is extremely efficient and got all of the drinks out very quickly. They have martinis, wine, and draft beers. They even had a new Long Trail IPA that I am a big fan of. With the exception of our own staff for getting what type of steak they ordered, medium rare, medium well, well done, the meals were prepared accurately and deliciously. Everybody enjoyed their fillet, and I certainly enjoyed my router thick piece of salmon cooked just the way I like it. The honey salmon wasn't overly glazed which I appreciated. There's nothing worse than having your food item come out as a dessert item because it tastes too sweet. The Greens in the salad were very fresh, and they had a good selection of dressings. Restaurant was clean. Apps we had wings. I guess they were fried then grilled? Which means they were super dry. No taste. Turkey Club, was not very good. Fries were ok but I had the bottom of the bag I guess. Soups, Lobster Bisque came in a bread bowl (no mention of it on the menu) and barely had lobster. Plus a small portion of soup. The Beer I had at first was flat, another one I ordered (different kind) was all head. Maybe I ordered all the wrong stuff. Pros: Have been here many times. The food and drinks have been remarkably good each time. Most recently, I had the salmon with mustard sauce: first rate, and the Three Figs Cosmo: excellent. I recently moved to RI and was happy to come back here while visiting with friends. Food = 4.5 stars Con: Our waitress was not very knowledgeable about the menu, nor did she ask if we were interested in dessert or coffee at the end of the meal. She brought me an iced water with my salad and noticed that two pieces of lettuce fell into the glass; she made a joke of it and left! For the prices they are charging (which are high but not totally outrageous), she could have at least offered to replace the water. Seems minor, and perhaps it is, but that's not something you need to train an employee to do. Some things should be common sense -- I shouldn't have to dig into my water glass to retrieve lettuce. I like the place, but perhaps some training of waitstaff is in order. read more

Finally made it back to Three Figs. There were 5 of us. We shared 2 apps-The Fig Baked Brie (which is amazing) and a special-BBQ Chicken Rolls ( excellent). We all had salads which were fresh and large. The complimentary bread was very good and our waitress gave us more when we asked. All of our meals were delicious. We had Philly Cheese-steak, Lobster Ravioli (so good!), Baked Mac and Cheese, Prosciutto-Wrapped Chicken, and a Primavera dish that was a special. Topped off with some draft beer, we all left happy and satisfied with our selections. Our waitress Caitlin was very attentive and knowledgeable. I am happy to give Three Figs 5 stars since I cannot think of one negative thing to report. read more

We chose here for our kid free anniversary dinner! Our waitress was so kind and attentive! Food was delicious...we ordered the Brie for an app and I was dead set against eating it bc i tend to stick with cheddar (ha!), however OMG was it the best ever!! We also tried the lobster bisque which was more soupy than creamy and a little disappointing. The puff pastry on top though was tasty. Salads were ok if you like mixed greens; for entrees we had the filet which was cooked perfectly and melted In your mouth as well as the lobster ravioli which was creamy and loaded with lobster meat in the ravioli and on top! The white sangria was delicious and the dessert good: individual pecan pie and stout chocolate moose served in a beer glass..Yum! We were a little disappointed though in the atmosphere- very loud in side room, could hear every conversation and could barely hear our waitress. I always drove by this restaurant but never stopped, last Saturday night I was going out to a late dinner with my boyfriend and I decided to go there. The food is DELICIOUS! I got the gorgonzola chicken (rigatoni pasta) OMG sooooo good! My boyfriend got a steak (don't remember which one) but was amazing! Both meals were pretty big. The bar is cool, the bartender was very friendly, it's not expensive at all! I can't wait to go back and try something new!!! read more

First time here at this place. Food was decent but the place seemed formal for somewhere offering cheeseburgers on the menu. However, that being said the menu was extreme limited and a bit on the pricy side. I had the Mac and cheese with chicken for $15 and it was one of the cheaper dishes. Another reason I am only giving this place 3 stars was that they seated us in a room without heat on a 15 degree night. read more

On food alone, this is a 5 star experience for fresh, creative food in a casual atmosphere. We sat in the bar on a recent Sunday afternoon during Brunch. The menu offered so many great choices that it was really hard to decide. In the end hubby went with the Huevos Rancheros, we split a side of the Corned Beef Hash with Brussel Sprouts and I had the Pear Gorgonzola salad. Everything was AMAZING. The service was ok, not outstanding. It's a cozy little place but the dining room, which we walked through to get to the bar, was freezing and oddly unused. Our conversation was sometimes drowned out by very loud staff discussing personal matters. A plus food, C plus staff. Worth the money. read more

Just had the shishito pepper app on the specials menu, so tasty - blistered peppers with pickled onions and feta cheese crumbles Chef Tyler rocks. I've eaten at Three Figs in the past two weeks that I have been in the area and I like it quite a lot. I travel for business so I dine at many many restaurants. The food is nicely prepared and the wait staff is very friendly and accommodating. The bartenders are quite skilled and mix a fine, classic Old Fashioned. The wine list is servicable and not too expensive. The only watchword is that the portions are HUGE. After having a salad you're pretty much good to go unless you are very hungry. Recommendations are the Burratta, Pepper Crusted Tuna and the Pasta Bolognese. Order sparingly and you will enjoy. Nice bar crowd also. read more

The lower dining room has almost NO HEAT. No joke, the thermostat read 59 degrees. The electric baseboard heat could not warm the room. We should have left, but we tried to make the best of it. It was a mistake. We kept our coats on the whole time. The only fun we had was laughing about how cold it was. Seriously, it's probably a code violation to allow a room to be that cold. To top it off, on our way out we told the hostess that it's way too cold in the lower dining room and she was defensive and hostile. Never going back. Ps. Three Figs' menu features pretty standard Italian and American fare. So, in order for the restaurant to stand out among the scores of others that serve the same pear and walnut salads and lobster ravioli entrees, the execution would have to be above average. That just wasn't the case on our recent visit. I ordered a chicken and brie sandwich that was short on everything but chicken and featured an inexplicably greasy brioche bun. Love this place . Had a sitter a little while back and took the wife . It was excellent . Went again today with my dad to show him the place and have him try the Lobster grilled cheese . Loved it again . He went straight home and told mom he has to take her here . Only reason it's a 4 star and not 5 is we've only had the Lobster grille cheese and the pulled pork mac n cheese.
