Came for lunch finally with a couple friends. It's much larger inside than it looks. The back area seems to be for events. I thought the quality and service was average. Nothing really wowed me unfortunately. It was very cold inside on a rainy day, and that didn't help. Later as we were leaving, we realized why: the back door was propped wide open. Service was attentive but slow to get the appetizers, especially considering by the time we ordered, it had thinned out. Maybe it was the back room event. Not a huge deal. I ordered the lobster bisque, offered in a bread bowl or in a ceramic bowl. The good: there were good chunks of lobster in the soup. The bad: first impression was it sort of smelled like really pungent seafood... which for me isn't always good. It tasted fine (a bit salty), but it was in a thick orange bisque that just tasted different from most lobster bisques I've had. Can't say it was entirely bad, but was just hard to place. I also ordered the bleu cheese burger with side salad. That was pretty good overall. The bottom part of the brioche? bun seemed it was toasted to a dry, crispy consistency which I wasn't a fan of. The hamburger was dense rather than light, and not a big juicy looking burger. Hard to tell. I kept comparing it to the burgers at Max Burger, and I find Max Burger much better. Decided to try this place out since we just moved to town, after waiting an hour and 20 minutes for the delivery, our pizza finally arrived we ordered the cheese pizza and it was disgusting first it was burnt and cold then the taste alone was enough to not order again. So this was an awesome night for Three Figs! The last two times I've been there I have been very happy with the menu! They've stepped up their game. Their margarita tastes like a margarita or even better from Bar Taco and that is hard to beat! I requested it to be made without the sour mix, just fresh like, extra salt of course and it was amazing! We had fish tacos, we had them last time it's a new item on the menu. They're gluten free. Cool tavern in the middle of historic Suffield. We gathered for a duel-birthday dinner; my wife and her world famous Mutter (aka Oma). It was a Monday evening and the place was hopping with locals. We sat in a good sized room at a table set for twelve. The environment was warm and service very good. Upscale tavern food on the menu. We shared bacon wrapped asparagus, spicy calamari, and Ahi Tuna salad. The beverages were diverse and a few local brews were on tap, as well as, other standards. Our meals ranged from a Lobster bisque bread bowl, crisp wedge salad, garlic butter drizzled mussels, to juicy burgers with a range of toppings. Hallelujah. We finally found a place we enjoy North of West Hartford! Three Figs was a random stop for us. We happened to be near the area and decided to grab a bite. We are happy we did. We've had fried pickles at a few places here in CT and none have been awesome, but Three Figs did them perfectly! They weren't soggy, had a good bite, and plenty of tang. Our girls had the rigatoni bolognese. That's their first time having bolognese and so it took some getting used to, for them, but I thought it was good. A bit too heavy with the sauce, but no big deal. My husband and I had the prosciutto wrapped chicken, and honestly, it took me back to my days in France. It was a simple, comforting meal. It just made me smile and I enjoyed every bite. The staff was welcoming and nice, and we have zero complaints. We will absolutely enjoy eating here again. ***I just wanted to update my review since we just went here again tonight. Once again, everything was awesome. We each ordered the Tavern Burger with bacon and cheese and added the horseradish aioli as well. The burger was delicious! A rare dinner date for us, we headed to this fairly new spot because it had come with a great recommendation from a coworker, and we'd have to agree! We were seated in the bar area directly across from the fireplace and with all the holiday decorations and dark wood, this was a nice atmosphere for a date night. We started with the buffalo chicken egg rolls--unique, nicely presented with the perfect amount of heat and kick. For entrees, both our dinners came with salads (try the house fig balsamic, it's delightful) and we were brought warm bread with house made fig butter--if they sold this, I'd buy it. I had the prosciutto wrapped chicken--wouldn't get this again, the prosciutto didn't wrap and cover the chicken, it was more placed on top, also there was no sage to be seen. Matthew had the stuffed chicken rollatini--very colorful and nicely plated, he enjoyed this dish. Our server was super friendly and attentive and we had a lovely date night. Great hidden (or maybe not so hidden?) gem in the center of Suffield. My friend and I were looking for a brunch place recently and found out that Three Figs was offering brunch from 10-3pm. The building itself is super nondescript and there's plenty of parking in the back. Once you get inside, though, you realize how massive the place is. There are basically three dining areas, one with the bar. It's gigantic, but you could never tell just by looking at it on the outside. They have a separate brunch menu on Sat/Sun and also offer sandwiches/burgers and salads from the regular menu. I ordered the egg/goat cheese frittata and my friend ordered a hamburger. My frittata was amazing. My only critique was that it was loaded with mushrooms, but I knew it had mushrooms ahead of time and if I didn't want them I should have said something. They have a full page of brunch drinks that sounded amazing, but we weren't in the mood. They also offer coffee, but no specialty espresso drinks (no latte, americano, etc). Service was prompt and friendly. The place had enough people there to make you feel like you weren't alone at a bar on a Sunday afternoon, but no enough to feel crowded or stuffed. My wife had a glass of white wine. Onto the food. My wife had a beet salad with pears and Gorgonzola. Gorgeous see the pictures. I had a Wedge Salad with Bleu cheese tomatoes and red onion. A simple classic but executed flawlessly. My daughter tried the lobster bisque and ate all of it. My other daughter the steak and cheese. Our son had a grilled cheese. We were in the area and found this little place. We started with the Iceberg Wedge and the Lobster Bisque. I enjoyed the Wedge. The lobster bisque was a bit different than we had at other places. We then moved on to some mussels that were over cooked. We finished our meal with the fried apple pie rolls. Overall ok food. The salad was the best thing. Thoughtfully sourced ingredients make for amazing flavors and Three Figs has this nailed. I had the Kale Salad with Grilled Shrimp and it was superb. The portions are very large and the prices reasonable. People next to me had the Meatloaf and the Mac & Cheese and both looked fabulous. Was hoping they had Stone IPA on tap because I was in the mood for my favorite IPA but they did have a few decent craft selections. The Bourbon selection is thoughtfully balanced with Hudson Baby Bourbon as my stand out. My server/bartender was Jen and she was just awesome. I will definitely come back here if business brings me back to Hartford. Hopefully my friend Jeff Nelson (who recommended the place) will be in town next time. I was here yesterday for my husbands company Christmas party, this was our 3rd time at 3 figs and I wanted to give this place the great review it deserved. The service was great, the waitress handled the whole room well refreshing drinks and taking orders. She made sure we didn't feel rushed and always remembered our drinks. I had a blueberry vodka drink from the drink list and it was great! For apps we had the chicken skewers, calamari and buffalo chicken eggrolls, all of them are good choices but the buff chick rolls are a must have! They are amazing. Then there were salads and bread for the table. Both are good. For dinner I had the pasta bolognese which was really good with veal, beef and fresh ricotta cheese. It was a good choice but I will say that I was at Cabones in bloomfield the night before and these bolognese was by far better. Carbones is an Italian restaurant though whereas 3 figs is more of an American place. We will be heading back here for sure, I enjoyed the whole evening, ending it with the brownie dessert which was rich and calorie full too :) read more

Our baked brie appetizer would have been excellent if the brie was warm and melted, but brie is good any way you eat it, so I was't terribly disappointed. My boyfriend's lobster mac and cheese was the best food on our table, and the portion was huge. My short rib ravioli left me longing for something more. It came in a soupy kind of broth, which I think should have been something creamy and more flavorful. The short rib itself was pretty bland. I've traveled through this area several times and finally had a chance to try out Three Figs. They have a good yelp rating and I wasn't disappointed. I ordered a muddled melon margarita and their chicken pesto pasta. The margarita had a great flavor and the chicken pasta was very yummy. Yelp Nation reviews are the reason why we visited tonight. Per usual, Yelp Nation was spot on. The building is an old structure with a lot of wood trim, black and white photos, tons of character. I felt right at home immediately. We did not sit in the bar area, but it was beautiful. Now onto the drinks! The cocktail list was very interesting, not the usual. I had a Raspberry mojito and it was refreshing. However, my second cocktail, the Fig Mule was AWESOME, made with ginger beer. I'll be back for that cocktail alone. For appetizers, we had the fried calamari and baked brie. If you have read my reviews previously, you know fried calamari is a standard measure for a good restaurant, at least for me. Three Figs did not disappoint, crispy and tender. The baked brie was GREAT. You must try it. My daughter and I had the chicken and brie sandwich. They pound the chicken thin and pile on arugula and brie. What a smooth combination of flavors and textures. My wife had a burger and it was a monster. It looked great and she finished it off quickly. I must comment on the buns used for all three sandwiches. They were stout, sweet, and soft. Perfect for holding together big gourmet sandwiches. This place is a lot bigger than it looks from the front. The front part of the restaurant is a bit more lively with music and the back part of the restaurant is quieter and full of booths. We came on a Friday evening at about 6:30 and had no problem being seated. The menu ranges from bar-type appetizers (buffalo chicken egg rolls) to chicken rollatini to filet mignon. They have beer, wine and cocktails available as well. The portions are large so be sure to have an appetite. Overall, the meal was good! I opted for the short rib ravioli and it was served in almost a beef broth of some kind. A tad salty for my tastes, but it was good (I took home leftovers). Overpriced for the quality, and the service is just about the most rude I have encountered. Almost like they just don't need your business. We went in for a nightcap after dinner elsewhere because they have changed items on the menu that we used to go there for specifically (I.e., a ribeye steak which is a basic menu item...any kind of plain steak?) and so it was roughly 9 pm. We were informed by 2 different employees that the kitchen closed at 8. And we said well we just came for a cocktail after dinner. Then as we sat down at the bar the extremely rude bartender yelled from whatever she was doing at the other end of the bar that we could get a drink but they close at 9 or whatever. Well that didn't sound very relaxing so we got up and left . Apparently they don't need our business or anyone I share my story with's business either. Mind you there were people eating and drinking there and it was just past nine. Kinda crazy but we felt very unwelcome. We used to go there frequently but as I said, it's changed considerably and not for the better. Everyone I know agrees it's overpriced and the service is sketchy and occasionally rude. All my family is in the area, so I thought I would check it out. I had about 60 people. I worked with Erik and he was great, he answered all my questions in a timely manner. This is the third time we have dined at Three Figs. From what I can see it needs to train their waiters and waitresses. I ordered soup and it was brought out. Everyone else had ordered salad and that was brought out after I finished my soup ? Should have been brought out with salads. We finished our meal and were never asked if we wanted desert or coffee or after dinner drinks. The lobster cheese sandwich had very little cheese and bits of lobster from the claw. Bread was toasted not grilled like the menu read. Salmon did not have glaze on it like the menu said. Bar did not have popular liquor like Stoli or vanilla vodka.
