Odd little place. Locals like it. Parking way in the back makes for an uphill walk to the place. You enter, but there is no one to greet you in the very empty restaurant. So you walk farther upward to the bar. Small dark. Limited seating. Cozy and quaint but somehow still awkward. Yelp shows pizza, Steak and other great food. However, I was informed they no longer do pizza. Okay. So, I ordered the steak with red wine. A few minutes later I was told they were out of steak. (6:30 on a Wed). Ok. Np again. The baked scrod sounded good and I flipped my red wine order to sauv blanc. A very good house salad immediately came out. Fresh and full of good lettuce. Not cheap iceberg as well as plum tomatoes and cucumber and red onion. Nice! But it went down from here. Tick tock. Tick tock. Time goes by. The barteneder spending time talking to her favorite guests seemed aggravated that I interrupted after 15 minutes and asked if my dinner was arriving anytime soon? Just as she went to check it finally came out. And was not worth the wait. A $6 piece of cod sitting on mashed potatoes and soggy spinach just saturated in butter. A fish soup almost. $25? Ah not. I was just about to try dessert and the guy next to me ordered another drink for he and his girlfriend. The bartender said no. "We have a three drink max rule." Rude. To the point. Ruined their experience right there and mine too since i already had a martini and a wine. So, I wasnt going to rish an espresso martini with dessert and add more cost to be cut off. Parking: huge lot behind the restaurant Decor: dark wood but very clean and welcoming Staff: went in around 7pm and wasn't too busy but still found myself waiting for things as I watched my waitress having multiple conversations. Food: plating was perfect, presentation excellent and taste was very good as well. Cost: for the area I think it was good, about 30-40 per person and for the quality of food, is on point. Overall: I was impressed with the restaurant and food though a drawback for me was even though I can be considered a great family restaurant, seeing people in tank tops at the bar turned it more into a corner place with great food rather than the upscale restaurant I was expecting. The atmosphere is cozy bar up front and family restaurant out back. Clean. Comfortable. The service was excellent. Lovely server who was attentive and helpful and friendly. She took great care of us. The food is mixed, but this is based on our first experience. My husband and I shared the fried pickles with aioli, and they were crisp, hot, and very tangy-tasty with a hint of sweetness to the aioli. Very good. He enjoyed his burger, which was served on thick slices of sandwich bread instead of a bun (he loves that). Perfectly cooked to his liking. The fries, which I also tried, were good--a crispy batter outside & smooth, creamy potato inside. As a vegetarian, I found the menu less interesting. It's very pub/steakhouse trad menu with a meat or seafood focus. There's a butternut squash ravioli dish, but it seems like a lot of places offer that (I just had some at an Italian place where they make it fresh-fresh). There's the typical meatless pizza, meatless calzone, standard things. Not a dedicated vegetarian dish but more like options for people who don't want meat while they dine with their meat-loving fam. And that's their choice and it's perfectly fine. Just giving you adventurous vegetarians my opinion. As for vegans, I'd go elsewhere. One specialty pizza, the Fig & Fried Brussels, sounded like it could be awesome, so I ordered it without the pancetta. With honey wine fig jam, fresh mozz, fried Brussels sprouts, caramelized onions, and apple cider vinaigrette, it should have been a taste parade. Sadly, it was not. Right off, I noticed that the Brussels sprouts did not look fried at all. They looked raw, with pale green leaves in shreds and in chunks, with a touch of toasted brown edges from the pizza oven. A bite in and I confirmed it. They weren't hard-raw but they were the driest, blandest Brussels sprouts I've had in my 55 years of loving them. I was relieved I'd gone with the fried pickles app and not the fried sprouts one, as these were a huge disappointment. Between a bland thin crust and bland mozzarella topped with bland sprouts, I tasted the fig jam layer, at least. The jam and caramelized onion gave this pizza the only taste to be had. I ate two small slices because I thought the first must be a mistake. I figured maybe the leftovers would be better the next day. (It was not, and I had to use my aged fig balsamic to give it some life.) I still had room to split a lemon cake dessert with raspberry drizzle on the side. We both found the cake to be light and moist with a creamy layer inside that was just tart enough to distinguish the lemon. The sweetness of the raspberry drizzle and a scoop of whipped cream added even more taste dimension. A delicious finish. My rating of three stars comes from the fact that while everything else was good enough my main meal was just...meh. My husband would probably say it was an even 4. He's the target demographic for a place like Three Figs (30-60yo middle class meat-lover who isn't super flavor-adventurous and just wants good food he's familiar with). That's a big demographic around rural Suffield, CT. And the restaurant does a solid job of it. But if you're outside of that box, you'd probably be better off looking closer to a city. Will I go back? As a vegetarian foodie looking to be wowed, I would not. But I love my average-omnivore man and if he wanted to try go try a steak, I'd be willing to try the loaded baked potato pizza, hold the bacon. Accessibility: I didn't need my wheelchair or cane this time, but noted the steps. We entered from the back lot, so went into the restaurant from the side. There were a couple small steps and another to enter the restaurant. Not difficult for my bad knee but not wheelchair friendly. There are booths and open tables, and they seemed farther apart than in most restaurants. The booth we were in had a movable table with a lot of leg room under it. One roomy women's bathroom stall and (I think) 2 average stalls. Two sinks, not automatic. Pull-down paper towels. There were door handles to the bathroom, not push/pull. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. I drive by it almost every day and didn't try it until recently. We can to dinner on a Friday night with the family. We came for an earlier dinner and at that time there were only a few tables filled. Within the two hours or so we were there, it was pretty busy! The restaurant is cozy and warm. It is much bigger than I thought it would be. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and seated promptly. Our server was very attentive and kind throughout our entire meal. To start we got the Brussels sprouts which were cooked nicely and came as a large portion size for a starter! I got a glass of wine and my husband got a cocktail which was average. For our entrees we got the baked cod, butternut ravioli and a cheese pizza. Everything was very tasty. I loved the ravioli! We were too full for dessert so can't say much about it, maybe next time! Happy we gave this place a shot. It's definitely one of the best Suffield restaurants at least in our opinion. We will be back! read more

A must stop for us whenever we are in the area. They always have a great beer and drink menu and the food is consistently good. Sometimes it can be tight and there is a wait for tables, but I have usually ended up here at off hours and never had an issue. The place is deceptively large and can accommodate large groups with a little lead time. Menu is eclectic and can accommodate a wide variety of pallets. My husband and I met some friends here for dinner tonight. We arrived first so we went ahead in to get seats. We were seated quickly and the waitress brought out water and offered to take our drink orders. Soon after, our friends joined us and we all ordered our drinks. We also ordered the fried pickles and peppers. Our friends had already eaten something earlier so they decided to just order appetizers. I ordered the butternut ravioli and my husband ordered the bolognese with beef ragu. Our orders came with a salad which is probably my only complaint with the food. It was so tree like as our friend put it. I only ate half of it because I was so tired of chewing. Lol our meals and my drink were awesome. Very flavorful and filling. This is a wonderful hidden gem. Great pub food, great pizzas and a great cocktail menu. They always have a topical beer lineup including local craft beers from CT and New England. We've never had a bad experience and have been multiple times. The staff is super, very attention and accommodating. We just had a fabulous meal at Three Figs! Hands down, without a doubt Patrick was the BEST sever we have had in a very long time! Personable, fun, prompt and attentive are all qualities you will find in Patrick! The bread was hot, crusty on the outside, soft on the inside - perfect! French onion soup was very tasty. My dinner salad and my husbands salmon were both very enjoyable. All this set by a beautiful fireplace keeping us toasty warm on a chilly day! If you like thin crust pizza then this is the perfect place for you. The mushroom topped pizza is delicious. My wife loves Oyster Bay Sauvignon wine but they offer Scarboro which she tried and now I've got a new wine to stock up on. I had a margarita which sadly was not as good as the wine. We finished our dinner with a great dessert molten chocolate cake which our very attentive server John suggested. He even added dollops of delicious whipped cream. I have to say, Friday bar crowd during covid was nice to see. We had reservations for dinner though. We had a great time with the friends we had dinner with- let me explain. The server was sweet, attentive and working hard. She had back up too. Food was excellent. The calamari was good, portion was a but small. Dinners were good too. Then we had coffee and dessert. After all was said and done we decided to order another bottle of wine. In a very European-like experience, our waitress did not rush us out. We had the table. Wow. I've never had a worse experience. I came in on a Tuesday night, It was not busy at all. I'd say Max there was 10 tables. We ordered our food after we had to wait 20 minutes for a server to even come over to us and then another 30 minutes go by and we haven't even been checked on or our appetizers have not come out. We asked for the food to be canceled and the manager had no care at all. Our server had mentioned they were short staffed, but I work as a server and that is not what happens when short staffed. The fact that we had to pay $12 for the fried pickles we got is obsurd. Any manager with common curtiousy would've discounted our food as we were expecting so much more. Burrata Board was very disappointing with almost spoiled strawberries, the Prosciutto was so dry it was difficult to cut with a knife. How long had that been sitting around? Decided to try this place based on previous reviews and also the place/food looked good. It's got the New England house ambiance and the place is actually quite big with a bar area, a fireroom area another large dining area (maybe for hosting parties/events). Good amount of parking in the back. Couldn't get seats at the bar, so sat in the fireroom area. They have a full bar and about 5 cocktails on the menu. Got the Moscow mule which was too sweet and the bourbon smash which was way too sour. For food, got the buffalo chicken egg rolls which is probably one of the best items on the menu. Also got the tavern burger with bacon and cheese which was pretty good as well. Food was overall slightly on the greasy side. The Fries were not good at all and I do not recommend them. Overall, good place to try if in the area. Good ambiance and there are some tv's in the bar area if you want to watch a game. Prob won't be coming back though. Service was good. read more

I've heard a lot of very positive buzz about Three Figs from so many folks at work, and today we final checked it out. That buzz was right on the mark !! Three Figs doesn't look like much from the outside, but like so many things, looks are deceiving. Inside, it has two large dining rooms and a really nice bar area with half a dozen booths, which is where we sat for lunch. I tried a Soup of the Day- a nice bowl of Italian Wedding Soup for $8. It was stellar- lots of ground sausage, pasta, in a great broth with absolutely great croutons. I know that sounds like an oxymoron (Let's "make croutons great again") but these were delicious, (believe me, I know croutons). My Iceberg Wedge Salad (Applewood smoked bacon, grape tomatoes, red onion, gorgonzola crumbles and dressing) ran $10 and was just as big a hit as the soup. It was a huge portion of almost a full head of ice cold lettuce with a generous sprinkling of bacon, gorgonzola bits, grape tomatoes and onions. My wife's Rachel Sandwich ($10) was excellent too -huge slabs of real roasted turkey served with a house slaw, thousand island dressing and a choice of fries, field greens or cucumber salad. The bar area had a real nice vibe to it and I had the feeling that it would be a great place to watch a game and enjoy a beer and a burger. After reading some of the reviews of Three Figs, I was a bit hesitant. No worries. My experience was wonderful in every way: My server, Jessica, was the perfect hostess, attentive without being intrusive, and willing to answer my questions--you guessed it--on oils. They DO NOT use Canola. Salad dressings are made there with olive oil, Yay! And their frying oil is soybean--which we wish were sunflower, but soy way better than...well, read my other reviews. My spinach salad with candied walnuts, pear, and Gorgonzola was amazing, with not just token nuts and fruit, but plentiful portions of all three. The olive oil honey mustard was very good, and served as requested, on the side. I only need half since the salad was so tasty all by itself. And, at $9, it was a very good lunch value. Such mixed feelings about this place. Came here twice while in town and the first time was a lot better. For some reason they stuck our table of three in a separate room with no air conditioning, even though it was super hot. Our server mentioned it was warm in that room but was warm in the whole restaurant, which was not true based on having been in the rest of the restaurant. Both times the cocktails were terrible. I had a spicy margarita which was super sweet and not spicy at all. It came in a pint glass, which I liked but could only drink a few sips because of the sweetness. The next time, three of us got cocktails and they were all super boozy with no other discernible flavor. We ordered lemonade to dilute them and they were still too strong. The best things we ate were the burrata and the scallops. The best part of the scallops were the fried clams on top! So fluffy and not greasy. I also had a tuna dish with spicy green beans. The tuna was not good and the green beans were not spicy. The service is hit or miss. The hot time, our server checked on us a lot and that was nice since we were the only ones in the hot room and it would have been easy to forget us. The second time the bartender was our server and she seemed really out of it and ditched us after we ordered, but someone else ran our food so it was fine. In a attempt to eat locally and support local companies. My girlfriend and I order dinner last night from three figs. And I must say being a former Navy service member and having had my fair share of subpar food (no offense to our government). However three figs is not the U.S. Navy. And our dinner last night was worse than any meal I've ever had in the United States military. I had a meatloaf dinner which I ate half because I was starving and ended up throwing the rest of it in the trash because that's how terrible it tasted. My broccoli was burned beyond Recognition the only good thing and edible item where my mashed potatoes I'm not sure you can screw that up And my girlfriends salad was over $19 for a couple of handfuls of arugula and a tiny bit of tuna if you want to spend $59 on dinner I suggest maxes burger or maxes tavern anything other than an Three Figs even McDonald's or Chick-fil-A way is better food then here. This place is HORRIBLE!!! We decided to book a first responder/military event dinner on 9/11 at Three Figs. Months ago The manager worked out a deal for our party of 40 women $35 each including tip and gratuity. The night went on and they didn't even have enough food to feed us all. Then told us that is was $1 more due to cost of living/Covid. It gets better then we are told the poor server's is not included any more in that price. 3.5 stars! We've been here a couple times. They change their menu regularly and unfortunately a couple of our favorites seem to have been taken off the rotation. For appetizers the baked Brie is pretty good. Wish they would bring back the fritters with the spicy sauce, they were sooooo good! I'm a vegetarian and have eaten their Mac n cheese-which I didn't love, but I do love their butternut squash ravioli, that's delicious! My fiancé is a meat eater and he has always enjoyed whatever he has gotten. Service is usually good, we had one not so great experience but that was over a holiday weekend, and we assumed they were short staffed. Just had Sunday dinner at Three Figs and it was so good. I had the cod and it was perfectly cooked with a delicate crisp topping on fluffy and light mashed potatoes topped with a luscious lemon sauce and sautéed spinach.
