Very happy with my purchase and experience at Thousand Oaks Mattress. I walked in with my 3 year old to get her a "big girl" full-sized bed. Lindee helped us out, was patient as my toddler and I tested out the beds and explained everything we'd need to convert the convertible toddler bed into the full-size bed. Price bait 'n' switch! I called a week in advanced and asked for a twin-sized mattress for my elderly father and was quoted $160 over the phone. Good price! A week later both of us went there to look at it and have him try the $160 mattress out, but were shocked when we were told, after my father tested the mattress, that it had (surprise! surprise!) just had a PRICE INCREASE! My, wasn't THAT convenient! It was no longer $160, but now $185!! I asked about the price we were quoted over the phone and the sales lady said she couldn't do anything about that! Really!!?? I was finally ready to replace my bed and and wanted to keep my business local. I went to several stores and ended up at TO Mattress. Don't be dissuaded by the initial store front, it's pretty basic, the store is small and a bit crowded, but your here to buy a bed, not to move in, so get over it! I was immediately greeted by Joseph, a young friendly salesperson. Well, he gave me an education in beds, and being a salesperson myself I really like people that know their product and know it he did. I'm sure he's told the stories he told me a hundred times, but it was as if he was telling it for the first time. I was there a while, he took time to show me several beds, and I ended up picking a great bed that I've been happy with to this day. A short while later I needed another bed to complete a guest room I was renovating. Again, I met with Joseph and he took care of me perfectly. If per chance Joseph isn't there for whatever reason, rest assured the owner of the store, Lindee, will be there to give you excellent service too. My wife and I came here based solely on the yelp reviews and our desire to support a local business. It was time for us to replace and upgrade everyone's mattresses (five in total). We live in Westlake and they are conveniently located on TO boulevard. I work during the week, so Saturday was our best day to do this. We arrived at 11AM, ready to go, with each member of the family. To our surprise, the lights were off, door was locked, and nobody picked up the phone when we called. We were extremely disappointed, given their posted store hours have them opening at 10AM. I may be accused of pettiness here, but if your supposed to be open, have employees responsible enough to open on time. This is Business 101! We ended up going to another place down the street. I had such an amazing experience purchasing a mattress from this place, I wanted to share. I am disabled due to a permanent back injury. Life finally afforded me the opportunity to invest in a good bed and I got it from Thousand Oaks Mattress. Lindee helped me and it couldn't have been a more pleasant transaction. She asked questions about how I sleep, my back condition, etc so she could make a recommendation that would be right for me. She's a good sales woman! I was absolutely spellbound by her comforting conversation while she allowed me to lay down and rest on the mattress for as long as I wanted. I even said I was ready to buy and she encouraged me to take a few more minutes, so I could be sure. Then she upsold me on a mattress pad and protector. What she said made sense. This is not a cheap investment, so do what you need to take care of it. Now that I have the mattress and have been sleeping on it for a while, I can say it was worth every penny. Pain isn't waking me up at the crack of dawn like an alarm clock as it has been the last 6 years. I don't notice it until I get up and move around.
