    I purchased a Back Science Series 2 mattress for more than $3,000 from Ultrabed Mattress Store in Agoura Hills. At the time of purchase, the owner informed me that the store policy allowed unlimited mattress exchanges within one year. Due to ongoing back pain experienced by both my wife and me, I exchanged the mattress twice. Despite these exchanges, the mattress continued to cause discomfort and failed to provide adequate support. As a result, we purchased a mattress from a different store in Orange County, which has worked exceptionally well for us. I later contacted the Ultrabed owner via email. He eventually called me and stated that he would exchange my mattress for one that was exactly the same as the mattress we purchased in Orange County. On December 18, 2025, two employees from Ultrabed arrived at my home. I was under the impression that they were there to exchange the mattress. Instead, they opened the mattress and removed the internal foam layers, replacing them with different foam materials that I had never seen before. This was shocking and unacceptable. Considering the mattress cost over $3,000, the materials used appeared to be of significantly lower quality. In my opinion, the replacement materials did not reflect the value or quality of a premium mattress. I recorded videos documenting this process, which are available for review.

    Rude. They never ordered my 1300 bed! Never came. No calls. Nothing. If one asked about it the owner hangs up then doesn't answer.

So it was with much anticipation that my hubby and I returned to the Sleep Shoppe where years prior we had a good experience and purchased our last mattress. Upon entering the store we were given covers to place on the respective pillows on each mattress we were testing out. Michael Berges was our salesperson. As we tried each mattress our questions were answered. We sought out a firm mattress. It was challenging to make an informed decision however, when Michael told us that the mattresses were refundable and could be returned within 30 days if for some reason it wasn't what we had in mind, that seemed like a good selling point. To us it seemed it very clear that we could exchange the mattress with ease. Fast forward, after a week I felt the mattress was too firm, felt as thought I was sleeping on the floor. I called the store and Michael told me the mattress will loosen up in time, it would be helpful to have our grandkids come over and jump on the mattress. Really? He then went on to tell me, ' Well, you liked it in the store ' . He also said much to our surprise that there was restocking fee which is 15% of the cost of the mattress. That's was news to me as well as to my hubby. Michael went on to say it was written on the back of my receipt. Maybe so I told him, however, it wasn't mentioned at the time. The only thing he had stressed to us was the ease of their return policy. Had we known about the restocking fee, we would have taken more time in making our choice. Neither my hubby nor myself heard about any restocking fee while we were there, that's for sure. So if you chose to shop here, make sure you get ALL the details about their return policy. Not happy about the way this transaction was handled and for that reason do not recommend The Sleep Shoppe.

    Mattress/bed shopping can be frustrating and baffling. Different stores can have different names…read moreand model numbers (and far different prices) for the same beds. All that changed when we decided to limit our shopping for beds to The Sleep Shoppe. First of all, the place is literally a sea of beds. They are there for you to try out. They all have pillows. The sales people are knowledgeable and patient. Even with kids bouncing on beds in the background. Or, to be accurate, bouncing from bed to bed to bed. Having the sea of mattresses allows you to figure out what is really comfortable for you, physically and financially. The difference between a $1,200 and $5,200 bed seems like it should be vast, but it's really not, at least in the showroom. Maybe once you get it home. Anyway, all of the beds in our house are from The Sleep Shoppe. We are happy and returning customers!

I have been driving by Reed's furniture for so long I have always heard they had a great selection. We've recently moved to Oxnard, but I did drive to the giant one in Agoura Hills because we wanted the most selection. When we walked in the store was busy but we were helped immediately by lovely, charming and funny man named John. He seemed to immediately understand our needs. We had a spot for our couch that needed to be measured perfectly and also had very specific colors, pillows and comfort level that we wanted. Also, rarely do my husband and I agree, but John managed to find the perfect couch for both of us. When it arrived, it was indeed perfect and we love it so much. The whole process was smooth and easy and I've never seen more selection in any store. This was a very expensive purchase for us, and we couldn't be more delighted.

Every time my order has gone well, it has been great. However when things go bad, they go really bad. My most recent experience started on 5/28/25. I had a Newport Brass faucet that had an issue and was covered under their warranty. I was told to call Newport Brass. After contacting both WDC and Newport, it seemed like a simple process: WDC had to simply fill out some paperwork and Newport would ship me a new faucet. I was following up with WDC monthly to check on the status and was obviously lied to every time--working on it, it's on back order, my customer service team and I are handling it, it should be in next month, I'm not sure what's going on, etc.. My last exchange with WDC was on 12/14/25. Newport Brass says this isn't a big deal and they do this all the time, essentially blaming WDC for not following through with simple paperwork. It has been almost a year, I still don't have a faucet, and I've heard nothing from WDC in 4 months.

On my way this morning to deliver cash and I get a call that a manager is not interested in honoring the deal and they won't sell me the stovetop range. Oh and Ironically my sales guy is OFF today... Zero reason, zero counter pricing to what was agreed. No explanation (Probably because someone else is willing to pay more this morning). What a wonderful way to do business! Waste people's time and bait and switch. If your sales team doesn't have final say, don't give them negotiating powers at all!!

    Review Update: Ten Years Later…read more Upon hearing that the business is due for relocation, I paced myself into the showroom with one last glimmer of hope to recover the aforementioned blueprints. The staff took my request seriously and Ms. Ann Choi phoned me days later that they have indeed recovered the documented paper. Furthermore, MPD has issued an apology for the initial delivery and offered repairs without additional cost. A veteran craftsman by the name of Angel came into the house and patchworked the floor, wall frame and door dents with efficiency and precision. I was intriguingly surprised to find out the furniture that I originally purchased has appreciated over $100,000 in MSRP value in time. Nevertheless, I believe MPD has acted in a sincere and honest fashion. Please allow me to express my gratitude; I would strongly recommend Marc Pridmore Designs to any future prospect for furnishing opportunities.
