Love Ethan Allen. I've always known about them peripherally and fawned over their old catalogues, but had no idea how extensive their services are! Their look is so classic chic and their furniture is functional, well built and sturdy. I didn't know this until my recent visit, but they do a LOT of customizing, including a huge assortment of fabric options. The employees were also very knowledgeable and helpful as well. 15 years ago I purchased my bedroom set from Ethan Allen, had a great Designer experience with Torrance fitting a 4 poster bed into a low pitched ceiling . 15 years later the set still looks brand new and i've made 2 in/out moves one long distance since. Quality is key word . 15 years FF I live in SF Valley & it's time to redecorate our living room . We visited the Ethan Allen Showroom in Agoura Hills where we met Curtis, our Designer. We didn't look on line at pricing or models so as to keep an open mind when we saw the items in person. from the immediate greeting & call for a designer Curtis gave us a ton of freedom to browse without looking over my shoulder but taking in the info of what we had in mind. We initially picked out a double reclining leather couch & one leather reclining chair. When looking at those initial designs in our home , we ditched the all leather room . We went with a fabric couch and two leather chair recliners . Curtis has been terrific bringing samples to our home , measuring every aspect of delivery complications & even meeting with the delivery crew to verify the sizes of furniture we picked will be able to make it through our complicated delivery . Curtis has been responsive, patient and compassionate you see i just had another foot surgery and am in recovery but non ambulatory . It will take approx 8-10 weeks for our custom furniture to arrive . You are not getting warehouse furniture but custom made to your specifications . I stopped by the Agoura Hills Ethan Allen store on a busy Sunday afternoon and was warmly greeted at the reception desk. After browsing through the store on my own, I was fortunate to meet Mugdha, who was kind enough to help me with a chair that I had chosen for my husband. When I described the type of fabric I thought he would like for the cushion, she went to work and set aside four fabric samples, all of which met the criteria for what I was looking for. She wrote everything down for me and I let her know I would be returning later in the week with my husband. He and I came back the following day to purchase the chair with one of the fabrics Mugdha chose. She was extremely kind, efficient, knowledgeable and professional. I did it! I could not help myself! After re-doing my living room, where it started, then my master bedroom, I could not leave the guest room undone, not after seeing what Aileen could do. And as predicted, Aileen turned my guest room, which looked just okay into a beautiful, inviting room that I am thrilled to share with my guests. Truth be told, I smile every time I walk by and think to myself, that looks beautiful. I love, love and I do mean love how it turned out. I will be honest, the bed, the Blythe took almost a year to be delivered, but it was worth the wait, I love it. Most importantly, Aileen was very honest and up front about the potential for delays and the possibility that I would be waiting, but as she said, it will be perfect and it is. I have no idea how Ethan Allen will be keeping the lights on now that my home is done, oh wait, I do know, Aileen! Aileen makes it seem so easy, she has an incredible eye for putting things together that suit the space, mine has been more challenging due to the limited size and where the windows are, but she did it. Really, she didn't just do it, she nailed it and created a look we love. Thank you Aileen! I also want to add my thoughts about the latest delivery guys, Bill and Javier, great guys, nice, professional and careful. Having done three rooms over the past couple of years, I have met a lot of their delivery people, all top notch, whoever is doing the hiring and training should be commended, they are choosing great employees. And the schedulers at the delivery center, again, professional, accommodating and very easy to coordinate with. Aileen Munoz at Ethan Allen in Agoura Hills is a magician!! For an entire year, I spent weekends trolling furniture stores, feeling totally lost and overwhelmed (in addition to ignored)! I wandered into Ethan Allen one day and met Aileen. She came over to the house and took all the measurements, photos, etc., then a week later she put together a whole design presentation for me. I didn't think I'd like what she picked, but I loved it!! I had to wait a bit because of Covid/supply chain issues, but it's finally here and I couldn't be happier!! I am in love with my home redesign! My design consultant, Aileen Munoz, did an outstanding job listening to me, incorporating pieces that I love and bringing everything together. My dilemma was scale, we moved from a smaller home to a larger more open plan and everything felt tiny. We now have a gorgeous home with a flow of color, texture and furnishings that we will cherish and enjoy for years to come. I'm writing this in the midst of a pandemic with retail shut down, etc. What I can tell you is that I was even able to work with Aileen/Ethan Allen remotely to review and approve additional design plans. For what it's worth, if you can, keep the economy going and keep people working so don't halt your projects due to physical restrictions. We have bought a number of pieces from here for our bedroom, living room and dining room. I was really happy with quality and service. I appreciated being updated with an estimated time frame of when my order would be ready. The wood furniture is really sturdy and has a beautiful finish. You have to know what you are looking for when you go in the store and have a game plan. When I asked for them to recommend a few specific pieces within a specific budget the design people came to my house and made recommendation to furnish multiple rooms that was four times the budget. I would do whatever I could do to not purchase any furniture here. My wife and spent over $12K in our first purchase. The bedroom set and the two piece hutch we bought were special order, as their colors were made to order. The coffee table we bought was not a special order due to the fact there were no color choices. It came one way. When we had our couch delivered on a Thursday (not Ethan Allen) we realized the coffee table would not fit. The next day we went to the store to cancel the coffee table. We were told by Deb we could cancel it but we would have to pay a 15% restocking fee. I asked Deb, could it be waived since we spent so much money and had three other rooms to furnish. Deb said the store manager would make that call and she would contact us the next day. I received a call from our sales consultant and she said they couldn't waive the fee. I asked to speak to Dana the store manager and I was transferred. I explained the whole scenario to Dana and she said it is company policy to charge the restocking fee. I asked her to please call the corporate office on Monday to ask them. She said she would and would call me back on Monday. I never heard from her on Monday. I called the store today, Wednesday, and she told me the sales consultant should have called me on Monday. Dana then told me they wouldn't waive the restocking fee. I told her to please cancel the coffee table and issue me a credit less the 15% and I would like an email of the accounting. Dana said she would and that was at 12:17 pm. It is now after 5:00 pm and no email. You might ask how much was the restocking fee? A mere $120.00! Truth be told, the $120.00 won't break me, but when you look at the fact we spent over $12K and the manager knew we needed to furnish three other rooms, this I don't care, company policy attitude, is bs and a joke. Where is the customer service? Unfortunately in today's society, there isn't any! Shame on you Ethan Allen, the store manager Dana, and Deb for not realizing it's not about you, but the customer. For 40 years I have been buying EA furniture. Recently, I bought a sofa and love seat from Aileen a the Agoura Hills location. Within only 4 days of delivery, the cushions were already flattening and thus caused the fabric to bag. When I called I got a woman named Diane who said EA was aware of the problem and that I was one of several complaints. She further explained that EA had changed foam manufacturers which was not as good as the original foam but she offered me no solution except "wait until EA 'goes after' the new foam manufacturer." I was not accepting of this solution so I called the corp. office but they referred me back to the Agoura Hills store. I left several messages for the manager, Christine, but she never returned any my calls. My sales person, Aileen, told me she was not able to help me. EA is absolutely not what it once was, that is clear to me. I had to fight my way into getting the two sofas returned. The only way I could get anywhere was to have my attorney write a letter to the main headquarters and their attorney finally saw to it that Agoura Hills took the two sofas back, for a full refund. What an ordeal! Every single person I spoke to at EA Agoura Hills said I bought the sofas and I must keep them. They did offer to repair them but they were not damaged or old, they were brand new sofas which caved in in just 4 days. When I asked how they were going to repair them to be like the one on the showroom floor, the answer was "we took that Oxford model off the floor." Finally, after 3 months of begging and pleading for a kind and fair solution, the attorney for EA approved the pick up and return of the sofas. The refund was for almost $6000.00. I took $1695.00 of that money and went to Living Spaces, got 2 sofas which are holding up far better than EA's. They are much more comfortable and sturdy. I am absolutely not suggesting Living Spaces, I am merely stating the facts. My experience is that EA's furniture is made poorly, the sales people will not help you if there is a problem, the management will refuse to do the right thing, and, in fact, they are rude and unkind. Without the aid of an attorney, which cost me, I would have been stuck with inferior furniture and strangers coming into my home to "try" to fix it. After 40 years of only buying at Ethan Allen, I will never buy anything there again! read more

We have been looking for lamps for almost as long as I can remember. We bought lamps and returned them from high-end lighting and furniture stores and lower-end retailers. No matter what we selected they never looked right. Two weeks ago we stopped at Ethan Allen and, not surprising, we had the same experience. Then a miracle happened. We met Maggie Allen (no, she is not a relative to Ethan Allen) one of Etha Allen's design consultants. Maggie not only made suggestions but later in the week she brought the lamps to our house so we could see how they looked in place in three different rooms. We now have six new lamps that we love. Maggie is not afraid to give her opinion as she explains why she is making a suggestion and a great asset to Ethan Allen. I was treated with such respect, patience and consideration and worked with a design consultant named Lisa. She came to my house twice and spent a lot of time getting to know my tastes and needs and provided me with advice and options in designing my small space. I never felt pressured which is so important when making big purchases. She helped me pick out fabrics that I am so happy with and cannot wait to see on my new furniture! I was looking for a counsel table but wasn't sure how it would look in the space. Customer service is subpar! Coming an hour from the Westside, we attempted to have our Ethan Allen dining chairs reupholstered. The store had all the information regarding our previous reupholstering of the same chairs. In spite of this (!) and having sent pictures of the furniture tags and chairs again, we were asked to provide all measurements, several times! In addition, Pam emailed that she could not tell what fabric I had chosen, DESPITE having given her the name and grade from the store's own website! She had the NERVE to ask me to research the code for her as she was unwilling or unable to look at the website herself! Once again Dana Conine at the Agoura Hills Ethan Allen location deserves more stars than are available! We were working on our backyard / patio and I had searched every patio store imaginable, researching chairs, tables, etc. After selecting a few items I was stumped - what to do about the outdoor dining table chairs / set. I decided to check in with Dana and see if she had any ideas. I never really thought of Ethan Allen for outdoor furniture, but had loved working with Dana on my living room. She was again amazing! Solved my problem. I just returned home from work and am looking at a beautiful, comfortable, amazing patio decor. Not only did she help me select the "right" chairs, but the way she pulled off the fabric selection in relation to an items I already had was just perfect. Furniture is a big purchase. We met Breanne Swenson at the store in Agoura Hills. She was very helpful and we never felt pressured. She came to our home a few times and helped us design our family room for our new house. Breanne helped us pick the best paint and stain colors for the room and made suggestions for a number of other items that were not associated with a purchase from Ethan Allen. In the end, we did buy a sectional from the store that made the room complete. Without Breanne's help I never would have felt good about making the purchase. Today the room is the centerpiece of our home and we get rave reviews from friends and family when they visit. I am really happy with all the furniture that I have bought at Ethan Allen. I bought 3 bedroom sets, a coffee table, end table, and a mirror so far. I tend to wait to purchase my pieces when they go on sale. I know what I want and then wait. Sometimes they have a 10% off sale and I jump at those sales. Btw, they are having one this month!! I tend to call up Susan and tell her what I want. She is great and provides excellent service. I'd give Ethan Allen 5 stars, but it is pricey and their charge card has a high interest rate. They do offer a 6 month finance plan, but I think they used to have 9 months (which was obviously a lot better). Overall, they are a great store with great furniture. read more

we bought a leather recliner chair and a supposedly American made couch. neither one was made in the United States. The quality could have been bought at the dollar store. The couch sags in less than a year, the fabric is sub-quality, the leather is starting to roll in the seams...these were very expensive and supposedly made to order...there was no follow up after the sale. i thought this was a higher end company...they are only higher priced. they have changed. i would rather have bought from Jerome's. never again. very disappointed. in less than a month i wanted to sell the couch and chair. very uncomfortable and not what we saw in the store. also bought the protection policy...don't do it. read more
