Like any good retail (or discounted retail) store, HomeGoods keeps evolving. Not only do they rotate merchandise, they occasionally shift departments to make customers search more deeply. I don't visit this location as often as I do the Simi Valley one, so my recent browsing trip yielded surprises in trying to find things. I used to know this store's layout very well. I pressed on, and was able to find one of the things I was specifically looking for in one of the Valentine's display areas. We have a coffee bar, and I enjoy swapping out some of the accessories seasonally. They had some charming painted small plates. I use them as trivets or coasters while doctoring the coffee cups after the coffee gets dispensed. They corral some of the potentially messy drips, and look cute while doing it. There were kitchen linens aplenty with Valentine's hearts, but the kitchen towel selection was heavy on showy options, and not so much on practical ones. I was looking for printed velour on one side / terry on the other. Not so much to choose from, but if I'd wanted linen/linen-look with embroidery, I would have been in luck. They still have a good selection of Valentine's Day mugs with cute sentiments. Their prices are hard to beat for new mugs - almost thrift shop cost. I didn't walk the whole store this time, as it was getting to be dinnertime, and I needed to head home. They did seem to still have some Christmas merchandise they were clearing out, and not fully committed to the spring season ahead yet. They are moving in that direction, for sure. read more

Be careful here. Total chaos- walking down an aisle with my daughter, I was hit in the back of my head by a falling ottoman that had broken legs. Someone had put this on a top shelf- really? Nearly knocked me out and thank goodness didn't land on a child. read more

I love home Goods. The best store is in Thousand Oaks @ Janns Road & MoPark. Here's some secrets HG, TJXX Marshalls are all third party vendor/shipper for Wayfair. HG, TJXX Marshalls sells items in store for 1/3 the price wayfair charges. I know this because I purchased several Ralph Lauren room sized , patio doors, jack n jill bathroom sinks rugs from HG. Found the matching runners on Wayfair but wayfair charging 3-4x as much. For instance a 2.5'x5' is $39.99 at HG, ON sale the same rug is $108 at Wayfair. The 9x12 rug I paid $399 at HG, Wayfair price $1080 . 5x7 HG $199, Wayfair was $899. So if you find an item you like on wayfair check out your local Home Goods, TJXX or Marshall's and more than likely you'll find it ! Sometimes you might have to visit several stores to complete your room , it's worth it. I bought my runners 2x8 through Wayfair and they were drop shipped by Home goods in Connecticut (shipping label) . Go finding! read more

I bought a ton of fresh flowers at Trader Joe's, & I needed vases. Searching "vases" on Yelp primarily brought up flower shops, where I assumed they'd be very expensive. The search results brought up this location, so I decided to give it a try. First walking in, there were a ton of large gardening planters ($30-$130) & vases that were fine but had fake flowers attached (& it didn't seem like they were coming out). I made my way around to the food container aisle & actually found some very tall Mason-style jars that I could use. I found a black "utensils" bucket that looked vintage & is very sturdy/able to hold heavy flowers + water. Then I found a decorative items aisle, & it was perfect! I'm unsure if the items I purchased were specifically for vases; I think they were more for decorative purposes. I ended up literally buying around 8 new vases for extremely reasonable prices ($5-$25). I'm very happy w my trip. I suggest coming here & looking in aisles/departments that may carry things intended for other purposes, but might just be useful finds. read more

She rang up my order without saying a word baged it up and came from behind the counter got the cart beought it back put my bag in it and told me to make sure I put the cart in the cart area when i leave, I always do she was very rude she apparently doesnt like people. read more

HomeGoods is a fun place to shop but I've usually found this location's selections mediocre. Today it was seemingly better and worse!!!! It was overstocked!!! I stopped in for a few things and ended up filling up my cart today. Lots to dazzle you. Things you need and things you didn't know you needed until you discover them here. This location is overstocked with merchandise on shelves, in aisles, and piled on stock carts left just about anywhere. It is truly a hassle getting around the store and g_d help you if you are trying to push a full sized cart around. With the mass of shoppers on a Sunday afternoon, it wasn't easy. Also when a store notoriously stocks their shelves with items and then shoves more on top of, and around the already full shelves, it #1 makes it very hard to see what's available, #2 makes breaking something very easy, and # 3 makes it unfair to the shoppers when piles of items come tumbling down to the floor. I'm usually courteous in stores cleaning up if I drop something but the way things fall if you breathe in their direction, I feel like the customers should not pick it up but leave it laying on the floor. At least you can then see what's behind it! In all seriousness, it's nice to have a big selection! If you are not overwhelmed by the masses of things, then take your time and slowly look around. Not the best HomeGoods that I have been to. It's one of " those" where TJMAXX and HomeGoods share the space. And, the LONGEST checkout LINES I have EVER had to wait in. Like EVER. They SHOULD have seats and wait staff, because honestly you could have a snack/appetizers with PLENTY of time leftover to checkout forgetting about the wait!! I have been able to score some pretty good deals with lamps and quilts on the HomeGoods side. Also, the snacks SHOULD be INCLUDED, GRATIS! I went to make a return with the tag still on. The barcode was ripped off but the rest of the numbers were there to easily look it up in the system. This old woman said she couldn't do the return in such a harsh tone. I've worked at homegoods before & we would do this all the time. She didn't even want to hear what I had to say & just told me to "no just go!" . I don't know if it because I am person of color but her next customer was a white lady like her & she was so nice to her. I felt so horrible :( read more

I love this location and the kind employees who work here. They're so gracious and helpful, and many have a great sense of humor if you happen to accidentally drop an item on display. I went to HomeGoods last week to buy towels. They had huge bath sheets, really soft, for $7.99. (My son, when he lived here, thought that he could use any towel to wash his car. This store is always crowded. Pushing a shopping cart inside is suicide since the isles are narrow. The register lines are always long with 3-4 active cashiers, that's normal. The workers are friendly. This HomeGoods is probably the best one to visit, there is a ton of stuff here. You'll easily spend +2 hours in here without realizing it. read more

The days of "customer service" is long gone. It was during dinner time, and the store was NOT busy... I kindly asked the cashier if she could do an inventory check at another store... and she said she "couldn't". She "couldn't"? Her fingers were broken, and they weren't busy. Was it a matter of her not being "trained" to use the telephone? These people get paid way too money for doing not much of anything. You don't have to use your brain anymore...the computer does it all for them. So when I see them standing around doing not much of anything... and the cashier says she "can't"... it pisses me off! This store has basically all the stuff I love for my house at a discounted price. I've purchased window curtains, home decor, pillows, etc and I've been going here every month to check out their new items. Their items are not cheap looking - they're superb! They have unique house decorating items. They have a descent return policy. Cons. The parking lot is large but the parking can still be a challenge. The aisles are kind of narrow and getting the carts around without knocking things over or bumping into things can be a bit of a hassle. Absolutely love this store, I only wish they had one in Ventura. This is the place to go when you are decorating your house or have been invited to a housewarming or wedding. You can get name brand decor, from kitchen wares to bedroom, furniture, to lightening they have it and at half the price. This store is owned by TJ Maxx and Marshall's so if you've seen the home goods in those departments , triple that one store and you have a home decorators dream come true! The store is kept clean and the aisles are well stocked, I've never left empty handed when visiting this store! This place has tons of furniture, kitchen stuff and home décor. I like browsing but almost never come away with anything I was looking for. Recently I needed a lemonade pitcher and some containers to freeze lemon juice in and I wandered through the kitchen area for 20 min or more and ultimately could not find anything good to use to freeze juice and didn't like any of the pitchers I saw. I went to a big chain grocery store and found freezer-containers and multiple pitchers I liked right away. I want to like this place more but it just doesn't seem to meet my actual needs very often. :( Oh well, still fun to browse so I do that occasionally. read more

This is a great place to brouse for impule items or gifts and they have lots of closeout stuff from other places (that likely went out of business?) at very cut rate prices. There are some worderful things and a lot of hohum stuff as well, but if you have time or are looking for a gift item without anything specific in mind, its a great place - you can usually find something appropriate for them and perhaps yourself at same time. I would give them 5 stars if the checkout was more efficient, but hey its very low priced !!! read more

If you have never been, you are missing out! This has so many great deals and several decor, furnishings etc. that it will blow your mind! When it comes to furniture they have a few things here and there that are just awesome. I actually got a great dresser drawer piece that was normally about $1300 for $400, it has a couple knicks, but it overall is fantastic and a great brand. They have beautiful tall mirrors, pillows galore, kitchenware, lamps etc. The difference between this place and places like Marshalls, it is MUCH cleaner and put together, I didn't feel like it was just a disaster or looking at something completely unorganized. read more

My wife and I love this place and have spent thousands of dollars here. We went in yesterday and my wife wanted to buy a $11 tall glass jar with lid. We went to pay for it and experienced the rudest customer service from the cashier to the manager. The cashier said the lid didn't go with the jar. There were multiple of the exact jar with the exact lid and the lids fit perfectly in the jars. And we were not trying to score a free lid and the lid did not have a tag on it. The jar was only $11. My wife asked can you show me what jar this goes to. The cashier said very rudely something back there. And did not even offer any additional help. My wife talked to another employee and that employee actually went and brought 2 other jars that the lid was supposed to go to. We asked for her to show us how that lid would fit. And low and behold it didn't fit either of them. We called on the way home to talk to the manager Tony. And he didn't apologize for his rude employees and insisted they were correct. I hope Homegoods corporate reads this because you have lost a customer after how rude your employees were over an $11 jar with a perfectly fitting lid that your employees could not show us the jar that allegedly went with that lid. We would have bought the jar the lid went with if it existed. read more
