Although I don't shop out & about as much as I used to, a trip to HomeGoods will usually improve my mood. There's always so much to see there. I like looking for small accents for the kitchen, and they usually deliver. We have a coffee bar, which I like to change out the decor accessories on seasonally. Little 6 inch decorative plates fit perfectly on a mug holder and serve as a place to place mugs while adding sweetener and creamer, saving the mat underneath from spills. I've found really cute ones at HomeGoods, always for a great price versus other options online or around town. Speaking of coffee bar needs - HG carries many options for flavor syrups, as well as other gourmet goodies. I usually go home with at least several items from their specialty food department. Prices reflect a good savings over retail establishments. I usually check out their seasonal kitchen towels. I like that they stock lots of 100% cotton ones. Have picked up some cute mugs for the aforementioned coffee bar. Come to think of it, the large metal mug holder came from HG, too. Just before Christmas I stopped in for last minute shopping. Picked up a few items for our son-in-law's bar, plus cute nutcracker-themed wrapping paper and gift bags. I was able to find everything I needed to round out my shopping list. Mission accomplished! Although there was a long time at checkout, it moved pretty quickly. They could have used at least two more cashiers. It might have been break time when I was there. The woman who helped me get my items scanned was still sporting a smile though it had to have been a long day for her and it was five days till Christmas. Kudos to their staff for keeping the store looking fresh even so close to the big day. read more

I really like this home goods it has a lot of stuff for good prices and its organized and clean. The customer service is very good all staff is nice, only reason I put 4 is because I wish they had more furniture and drawers like the one on Corbin in the valley but other than that I enjoyed coming here. read more

It was terrible the one on Stockdale highway in Bakersfield CA 93311 has maybe a half dozen shopping carts so there is rarely one to use. So being handicapped if there isn't one there for me to use I can't shop. I need something to lean on when I shop so it's so I don't fall. read more

We waited in line for 10 minutes with 5 people behind us and we were #2. There were 2 cashiers checking out people. When we got up to be next and the #2 cashier closed and walked out with a bag. The lady behind us asked if there was another cashier to checkout people. She told us she wasn't a cashier and couldn't. #2 cashier came back and instead of checking people out was doing something on the floor. Again, the lady asked if someone could be checking out people. The lady worker asked Jody (the lady that closed and was doing something on the floor) if she could call and get more cashiers. Jody said rudely, they were called, but no one came. I believe Jody was a manager, but in my opinion shouldn't be. Needless to say we were next, but we left our basket and walked out. This HomeGoods store does not know the meaning of Customer Service. Final note Jody was the #2 cashier checking and saw the line and closed her register and didn't care about the people in line waiting and waiting. read more

We come here often because my mom loves homegoods. Today this one employee not only followed us around the store but also into the restroom. She waited for my partner and my mom to come out of the stall! My mom is in a wheelchair that requires assistance to use the restroom. This woman waited till they came out to see what they were doing. I thought it was weird that she kept staring at me as I walked the isles but after hearing this from my mom and my partner I will be contacting their headquarters. read more

Stopped in here to look for some outdoor chaise seat cushions that sold out at another HG store . I should have came here first!! They had all the products I wanted , it wasn't nearly as crowded (people wise) as they local HG and the staff was friendly . I was second in line ! hi I'm interior designer I always shop from home goods because they have good stuff and it helps me a lot !! I actually been to three stores today, I start with Ventura and Thousand Oaks,( which I was very happy) and the worst one was Simi Valley(06-04-2020) I went their because other store (Ventura and Thousand Oaks )they don't have enough items for me and I found the same item Simi Valley store with almost double the price! I spoke with the manager( supposedly ) her name was Bernadette S,she refuse to help me and with her attitude and loud voice, she said( that's my store price take it or leave it) she turn her back and walk away, she was very rude! I Donno if home goods ceo is happy with this type of customer service! that was my worst experience ever read more

This is the very first HomeGoods I've ever been to and it's by far the best one ever. This location is very special. The turn around is wonderful and it's always very well stocked. I've been to other HomeGoods in and around the city and they are always so sad looking feeling more like a second hand store. Items are priced competitively and accurately at this location. We've bought so many kitchen and bathroom items at HomeGoods. The quality of products that they sell here bear Bed Bath and Beyond. Of course you can't buy blenders or any electronics. It's more of a decor store. There is a dog and cat section too where you can buy food storage bins, beds, toys, etc. it's very dog friendly too. Wish all HG stores could be up to par with Simi Valley. read more

Today was my first time at the home goods store after a friend of mine told me about the good sales they have going on, so today after getting my Starbucks I decided swing in, I have a pretty fine eye for detail and I was surprised how nice and organized the store was. I was greeted by an employee and acknowledged I found the perfect candle set, the checkout process was really pleasant, unlike Walmart or target. The cashier Mary was very friendly and I loved her kind friendly demeanor :) I felt like I was treated more like a friend than just another customer and that left a good taste, the other big box stores should take notes from this store. Remember a few years ago, before the major rebranding of Homegoods, where if you told a friend you got it from HomeGoods they would be shocked? Yeah. This store is the reason people used to not shop at homegoods. Holy filthy. From the jump, you walk into the dingiest lighting, dirty floors, and cluttered, unorganized shelves. At closer inspection you'll soon realize every item is filthy-like, "well loved" previously used furniture. If worn items don't bother you, I get it, however if it looks like GoodWill I want to pay GoodWill prices. Definitely a pass on this store read more

2 stars are for the cleanliness of this store. The store is also merchandised very well! The customer service however needs some major work. The cashier experience is sub part of that. My experience the last 3-5 years is this- dismissive, rude and quite frankly making you as a customer feel like a burden. I was treated extremely poorly by the manager at the Simi Valley, California store! As I approached to pay the cashier (who I later found out was the manager, DARLA.) she asked me if I'd like to donate to a fundraiser for a family with cancer. I said no thank you. I started to look for my TJMax reward card. I put my items up on the counter and said I can't find my card. She ignored me. Then when she saw I had a large purchase she said it was too bad I wouldn't be able to get reward points since I couldn't find my card. I've always had other stores try to "look me up" to link me to my account but she never offered. After that she asked me again if I'd like to donate. I said no thank you, she said not even a $1.00, I said no, she said are you sure?? I looked her straight in the eyes and once again declined. I was extremely offended by the way she tried to ridicule me Into donating. As I left a young girl said goodbye who was working by the door. I asked her if the manager was available and she said your cashier is the manager, I asked for the corporate phone number and she apologized and said I would probably need to google it since she didn't have it.  I personally donate to my community in many different ways as well as working for a government agency helping the underprivileged. I have never been treated so poorly by an employee at any store. As much as I like Home Goods I will no longer shop their or any of the affiliated stores. I'm at an absolute loss of words on how to describe how badly this women tried to make me feel and how inappropriate she behaved! read more

Super friendly staff at check out. I found a lot of fun things for Christmas gifts including tons of cool unicorn stuff for my nieces. Prices are also very good. I gave them a four stars only because what I went in to get there were actually of.... bedskirts. I would say the bedding section needs to be beefed up. Dissatisfied with this HomeGoods store. I was just here shopping and had my eyes set on a plant tier that was in the clearance section. The plant tier didn't have tags on it so when I went up to the register to pay, the cashier asked me to find a similar item to try and price match. When I went to look for a similar item I could not find any of the same exact item or similar because many plant tiers had three tiers or more. The manager then got involved and decided to give me the item at full-price instead of trying to look it up online and see what it would be on clearance. I am extremely dissatisfied with my visit here today because of the manager that didn't take the time to help me buy this item on clearance, where I had originally found it. read more

They have a better selection than the home goods near my place so I make the drive out here cause it's worth it. I've been to this location multiple times never had a problem as a buyer. HOWEVER, I went in today to exchange something (same price, same item) it was just different colors and material. The lady that rang me up had attitude from the beginning thinking I just wanted to return something. She made the exchange more complicated than it should be asking irrelevant questions. When she was done she threw the receipt at me. HANDING IT TO ME OR EVEN GENTLY PLACING IT ON THE COUNTER WOULD'VE SUFFICED. Good store, poor customer service read more

Really enjoy this HomeGoods. It always is a smooth process from shopping to checkout, and they seem to have a good staff to customer ratio. They staff is always milling about, but they can help while they're doing their stocking shelves and various other tasks. The holiday items fly off the shelves, though. If you want the good Xmas decor, GO IN OCTOBER. I'm serious. People are like vultures circling around the sparkly, discounted trinkets, hoping to scavenge an ugly Santa. OK there are plenty of great things at amazingly low prices, but there are inevitably heinously hideous items, as well. The layout is welcoming and neatly organized. Parking is plentiful, but it is in a strip mall with tons of other businesses, so beware of that. Would recommend. Also, check out the T.O. HomeGoods a few miles away. read more

GREAT prices, OUTSTANDING selection of items in every facet of home decor. They even have food items. Fantastic ideas for gift-giving. I really like how they change with the seasons, offering color themes and items to match whatever part of the year we're in. I love slowly meandering every single aisle to see what's new. There's soooooooo much to look at. It's a little dangerous because I always find something to buy.... whether I need it or not. Much of my home decor has been purchased here. I love it !!! The only thing that gets on my nerves, NO MATTER WHICH STORE I'm at, is their checkout lines........kind of like Wal-Mart.......ALWAYS a line........and not necessarily any good reason for it. Retail therapy heaven! I love coming here to roam the aisle of beautiful and random items that they have. Im not going to act like their items are all high quality but they have great prices; cant really complain -- just check for abnormalities when you purchase their glassware (particularly the apothecary jars). Love the gourmet food and spice selection that they have and also all of the fun, trendy kitchenware that they always have. So many beautiful things in this store. I was surprised to see food, teas and candy sold there. I purchased a turmeric and ginger liquid that tasted great! The cashier was very friendly and there were many items to choose from. There were a few items on the ground and some areas seemed messy but the restrooms were clean and stocked. Whats not to like about Homegoods. This particular one does have lots of items that are on the clearance or it seems compared to all the other ones that I have been to. Once in a while, I run into one and the floor is unorganized and messy. This one has always been set up right and most of the time nice and neat. The only thing is that this one feels crowded, maybe because it's smaller than some of the others. Glad to have this one close by. read more

Not going to lie, I really like this store but the manager is a grumpy woman who needs to take a course on how to be a professional and kind MANAGER! Darla was extremely rude to both me and her staff members. She had a horrible attitude and was angry that she had to assist us. I wanted to find an area rug for my daughter's room and thought I would check out HomeGoods. I found an area rug that looked good but couldn't find anybody to assist. I asked the cashier if they could call for assistance and after waiting 10 minutes, still nothing. I went back to the male cashier and told him nobody showed after 10 minutes and he simply replied that someone would come. He didn't seemed too concerned. Another cashier overheard and indicated they were short handed and the only person available to help was helping load something into a customer's car. I waited another 5 minutes and saw the employee coming back into the store and asked if she could assist me and she said it wasn't her department. Ughhh. I think she could sense I was frustrated and asked if another employee could assist and the cashier said that person was on her break and would not come out u til finished. By this time, I had had enough and threw in the proverbial towel. It didn't seem overly busy, with maybe 7 customers in line and 3 cashiers working. I know these are you g adults but they have to remember they are representing their employer and should at least feign caring to help. This was my first and last trip to this store.
