I have literally been to every boot barn that is in Southern California and this is definitely not one of the bigger ones, but it is pretty decent and is definitely worth a visit. The employees are super friendly and very accommodating, which I loved. Their selection is a bit limited compared to the bigger boot barn locations but in contrast to some smaller ones it's pretty great. Their sale racks are always full of cool stuff. As far as value goes, you pay for quality which boot barn offers so it's definitely not a cheap store to visit or buy things from; especially if you want good boots. read more

This Boot Barn is by far the best! I've gone to other Boot Barns but they do not compare to this one. They have unlimited styles and sizes. However, when I do need help finding an Item that is not available in store the employees are extremely helpful. A lovely employee Monique helped me find some boots for my dad. Unfortunately they did not have his size available in store but she did not hesitate to help us place an order online. I went in to find boots for a trip during the week of Memorial Day weekend expecting they would have a sale going on, either in store, or online. Even something small like 15% off full price items. They were not offering any discounts for the holiday weekend. The store associates were very helpful in finding the right size boots and providing a wide selection of options. When I inquired about any promotions they were running, they said they were not. I didn't have a very negative experience but it wasn't particularly wonderful either. I went in prepared to purchase boots and not order them online so I would have expected a small price discount at the very least. My advice is to jump online and order something and sign up for their rewards benefits. They eventually will send you a few coupons via email to use. I was able to get a small discount this way. read more

I'll tell you what, some of the reviews on here ESPECIALLY the bad reviews are comical. Some complain about bad customer service and in the same sentence complain that employees were "staring at them". Could it be the employee was staring so they'd be available if y'all needed help lol? Not to mention if you can even manage to understand what the customer are trying to convey through all their spelling errors, typos and incomplete sentences lol. Which tells me that their attempt to communicate their disappointment with B.B. was a fast, quick and lazy attempt towards non existent issues and it was probably closer to the customer having a generally bad day. The opportunity to burn a hard working employee was too good to pass up instead of having some integrity. I wouldn't expect anything less in this liberal stronghold . Boot Barn is a country staple in any community. Prices can be 'pricey' because they sell quality products that last forever! To a new customer I can understand how the cost of products compared to similar products you can get elsewhere can be jarring. But again instead of getting two pairs just get one that will last you 40 years. Especially when it comes to the jeans the more you wash them and the older they are the better they get. I now live in a small town on a ranch in Texas without a Boot Barn for hundreds of miles. Even though I won't be able to eat for a week when I get back lol, I'm making it a priority to get two pairs of jeans while I'm in town. That should give you new comers a clear understanding of the absolute quality of their product, so don't listen to the small minded haters leaving bad reviews. One day I can wear my jeans ranching and the very next night wear the same pair country dancing at the local honky tonk with my wife who's very happy with the way they look, and that's all that matters right lol . read more

I left and decided to go to the Thousand Oaks store and was treated with the customer care I had grown used to from this store before. Came in to buy a pair of boots for an event but secretly I've always wanted a pair of cowboy boots. Closest boot barn to me was in Simi valley so we made the little drive over into Ventura County and we were thoroughly impressed. Big shoutout to Daniela, she's super kind and super helpful when it comes to western wear. Wife found the perfect pair of boots for herself and Daniela helped me order a pair of Ariat boots I really loved but they didn't have my size. Can't wait to get my new boots! Great customer service when I went to pick out work attire for my dad. Not sure what the whole deal is with 'Hispanic got no help' reviews when there's clearly a Latina associate at the register. I'm Latina too and had a great experience. Drove a whole 30 miles to come to this store specifically since Santa Clarita location is usually understaffed. Opening day and the place looks fantastic. Even better, the staff is so nice and frendly. They helped my wife and i with botts and the selection is good. I was really sad that Boot Barn was leaving my area. I heard it was opening up in Simi Valley and was glad. I waited a really long time for it to open. I went last week and was expecting to see some of the old employees from Canoga Park but found none. Thats one of the things I loved about going there. Those familiar faces. It felt sad at first going to Boot Barn in Simi Valley. But I had to admit, though a small store, it does have a lot of cool stuff and the staff is really great. The woman working here looked at him and walked by him 3 times as he tried on his boots and did not offer to help him one time. A white man walks in after my husband has been ignored going on 20 minutes and the white gentleman was asked if he needed help immediately. Gets his shoes, checks out, and leaves, my husband is walked by again without saying a word. Ultimately he leaves as he is aware they don't want his business and buys his shoes at Red Wing for $50 cheaper and great service!! SHOP AT RED WING for better prices and service! I ordered online from Sheplers and got free shipping to Boot Barn (Sister Company of Sheplers). Very easy and sales rep got my order right away in sealed shipping package. Opened verified except belt didn't fit. Again, simple to return right there in store. Decided to look at boots since I got $25 to use in store. Sales associate young woman maybe 25 helped with finding my size. Polite offered to try them on and directed me to mirror. Bought the boots which are work boots. There are many styles to choose from western looking work boots to standard lace up work boots. Carhartt work clothes to western apparel. This place got a wide selection. The store itself had a lot of interesting things to keep us looking around for awhile, but this review is more about the staff. I can not say enough good things about the two managers that assisted us today (Kimberly and Sarah I believe?) We had an online order go wrong (bank flagged it, then bank approved and processed it, but the order never made it to boot barn online) and they both took their time in helping us try to figure things out. They called customer care on our behalf and, after we decided to try and place the order again in store, helped us every step of the way to make sure the discounts were the same and to make sure the payment was processed correctly. Would 100% recommend the store on the staff alone as this entire process took almost 2 hours of their time to complete. read more

The reason for the stalled opening is because of city code and permitting issues, so if anyone is to be blamed for the prolonged opening, it is the City of Simi Valley, not Boot Barn!
