I stopped by this Ross location in Simi Valley today to get a pink dress shirt that my wife wanted me to wear for our baby shower tomorrow. This Ross is on my way home from work so it was convenient for me. I found parking easily since this store is in a plaza that has a lot of parking spots. When I walked inside, the men's department are on the right side of the store and I found a pink slim fit shirt right away. I just grab a medium size one and went to like up to check out. There was only 2 cashier working so the line was backed up and there no self checkout station in the store. They also have a Amazon locker on the left side of the store when you walked inside. Honestly the worse ross I've shopped at line wrapping around the store and the manager won't open another register spent 50mins plus waiting to be checked out for my socks I wanted to purchase! Asked the manager working if they could open another register because they only had two open and she declined and went back to putting clothes on the rack while paying customers are waiting to spend their money! I've been to this Ross a number of times over the last decade. It's an okay location - not the best / not the worst. My recollection is that Ross' heyday was in the late 80's / early 90's. I used to be able to find some well-made brands (like J.H. Collectibles, since out of business), as well as interesting home decor, shoes, and more. Then they went through some years of being junky and not very interesting. It seems like they're trying to pull it together again, though they're not as attractive or well-stocked as some of their competitors. This particular location happened to be close to where we decided to grab dinner, so we dropped in for a look-see. I was greeted at the door; always a nice touch. When I went to check out, I didn't have to wait, and the young man who rang up my purchases was very pleasant and polite. They got hit hard with holiday shopping, so their merchandise stock is on the low side at the moment. Still was able to find a few useful items at a good price. Success! read more

After we asked nicely for a fitting room ( even after she was rude) and she said " well aren't you standing in it already just go to one" which I did not appreciate. Been here a bazillion times, since childhood, yo. My grandpa lived in Simi from 1971-2010(roughly) or so. So, once I came along I visited him with family a few weekends a month and alternating holidays. Ross's used to be way less organized. They used to have a bit more stuff, aka, merchandise, too. Seems a lil bare sometimes. All y'all's shopping online I reckon. Shoes, dresses, and housewares are where it's at here. Kid's section is decent as well. Prices higher than I recall, but my mind lives 20 years ago, ha. I did find a rad dress today, my mother wants me to have one for this cruise we're taking in summer. If you, like me, live in the Midwest most of the year, shopping is a guilty pleasure out here in CA. Different selection, buyers, variety overall. Though, mayhaps that's just an excuse we tell ourselves. I wouldn't rule it out. read more

Cashier failed to remove ink tag, loss prevention went through every item and failed to find ink tag, put bag through sensors and LIED stating there was a security tag sewn in. Upon return home there is an ink tag. Called store manager working 4/14 12pm stating he is the highest manager at the store. He pretended not to hear me multiple times remained silent on the phone and then offered no assistance. Stated the loss prevention did not lie, which is false as there is an ink tag clearly. And instructed me to come back to the store it's no big deal happens all the time. Well that is horrible customer service THREE people FAILED to do their job on the most basic level. And then to assume it is no big deal to make it back to the store, Having no knowledge of my situation, health or transportation capabilities! This is absurdly ridiculous! Horrible Customer service! I have worked in customer service for years and there is no way any of this is acceptable behavior. Each time I am in the store I witness unprofessional behavior from the employees as they loudly talk amongst themselves in front of customers. They speak Over the radio to each other laughing while checking out customers! Perhaps if they focused more on their job at hand issues like this would not happen! Perhaps if their manager conducted himself in a more professional manner they would have a better role mode to follow after. This is a horrible experience and I will tell everyone I know and on social media to avoid Ross! The cheap prices aren't worth the stress of this terrible experience! read more

I was very excited I was shopping here I'm 59 years old a senior citizen and my mother is 79 years old. We purchased items on a sale night. One of the pans couldn't fit me because I was diagnosed with cancer and I did 30 chemotherapy and radiation treatments and I lost several dress sizes so the pants I bought couldn't fit so the next day when I came to return the large size pants for a smaller size I was told that I had to pay the difference when it was just an even exchange. The store manager told me I couldn't change the pants for the smaller size that I had to wait all the way till next week Tuesday to return the pants which means I would have lost the pants that were my size. She said she would lose her job and she ended up changing the pants for me with attitude saying she would've lost her job if the manager was going to find out about her exchanging my pants for a smaller size I am returning all of my purchases that I purchased and I'm never going to shop here again my shopping. my shopping experience was ruined by the attitude of the store manager. She has blondish hair and she dressed like a boy. I don't know whether it's a boy or a girl, but she was extremely rude by calling the loss prevention people over to tell them they were not going to change the pants for me. I had to wait all the way till next week next time this is the last time she's going to do it. I will never shop here again and all of my purchases are being returned tomorrow morning. Worst customer service ever. I come here all the time and this time I got "helped" at the register by an Asian woman with blue eyeshadow and glasses and her attitude was disturbing. She was throwing the clothes away, stuffing them in the bag so rough, she threw my change at me, and after finishing bagging my items she threw the bag on the ground and that was the end of it. I have been going there for years. On occasion the store was messy but not to the point of disgust, seasonal change, change in merchandise, etc. Yesterday, the clothing was a complete disaster. Many items on the floor, sizes totally mixed. I have never seen it this way. The worst part of it was that I had pulled out several items and handed them to one of the workers, told her they were mixed sizes out of order, and she just turned around and put them on another bar and walked away. read more

I love this store. Here are a few of the bargains I picked up today. Cute Dolce Vita mule/booties in gray suede for $49, same shoes for sale at Nordstroms Rack for $129. Also picked up a pair of cute Sam Edelman sandals for $13.99, same pair at the Rack for $69.99. You cannot beat Ross bargains. Checking the clearance rack I found a super cute pair of jogger style casual pants for $5.99. Yes Ross gets five stars in my book. If you are patient you can really find some cute stuff but trying to move your cart down a super narrow isle while trying not to run down a bargain shopping family of five is difficult to say the least. I have officially visited the Ross store in Simi Valley for the last time. The shopping experience is ok until you try to check out and there isn't a cashier to be found. I've never seen a manager on the floor at this store. What I do see is one or two security people, so apparently theft is rampant in this location. Do yourself a favor and visit Marshall's in Simi Town Center. It's a much more pleasant experience and the merchandise (and lack of visible security) is better. read more

I have shopped a lot at Ross. I generally enjoy the bargains I find there. We did a little Christmas shopping and out of my purchase a couple of items didn't work so I returned them the next day. I had my receipt, and the items were unopened, not worn. I was appalled at being required to hand over my drivers license in addition to my receipt in order to complete the return. I don't appreciate being treated like a common criminal just to return something unopened with a receipt. I don't appreciate my driver's license number being entered into your computer where it could possibly be hacked, for no good reason. Shame on you Ross. I understand tracking people without receipts, that makes sense, but treating good customers poorly will only cost you business. It has definitely cost you mine! I hope it was worth it. read more

I'll go to this store because it has good deals and some neat finds. The customer service though is lousy. They are unhelpful at best and at times outright rude. The guy who usually works the shoes and the security people at the door are the exception For instance, one lady at my checkout line told the people in my line that they could move to a recently opened checkout line for purchases and returns. The lady at that newly opened checkout said she could only do purchases. A customer in my line asked the first lady "can I go over there for returns too?" She was clarifying since the two workers said two different things. The first lady answered "I SAID you can go over there for purchases and returns." Who cares if you said that already? You don't have to answer that way. It's unnecessary. Such attitude. I'll avoid for this reason, but I'm sure I'll be back. It is Ross after all. What do you expect? 3 Stars We were down the street and decided to stop by and pick up a few things for my new place. I found some bed sheets and pillows for 1/2 of what they were going for anywhere else (maybe even less). Service was what you would expect from Ross.........3 of the ladies working walked by a few times and talked to each other while deciding what they should buy for their place. Only person that offered assistance was the younger guy with glasses. Still 3 stars because I didn't expect the service to be any good so it wasn't that big a deal. Not only does the store look trashy but apparently the team members have trash mouths and the manager does nothing about it. How appropriate is it for an employee to yell out f#$cing p#$%y out the door multiple times with the manager standing right there watching the whole team laugh about and the manger does nothing about it and walks away from the customer who has a issue about it with out an appoligy or anything but an attitude. The bathroom's are really gross...and they don't do anything about it. If I was an employee at this particular Ross, I would walk to another store and use their restrooms because they were so gross, to the point where I wish the health department saw the state in which they keep their restrooms. The cashiers barely speak English, and the accessories rack looked completly unstocked. The shoe department was a mess, and everything in the store is disorganized. I have always been a loyal customer to this ross because they've always had good selections. Whenever I walk in it's always pleasant. The reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because some of their staff are pretty rude. A woman named Rosa who helped me in the check out was quite rude. I asked her whether I can't get a discount for a dress that I've purchased because it had a stain, she said no because it was already marked down. That was fine I understand. But I came with my grandmother who was a senior citizen so that I could also get a discount. Then I asked her whether she has added the senior discount she said she "did" but when I was reviewing my receipt it wasn't. Yes I sound cheap but it's only the economy and a little help is still good. But she was just not happy to be there, I understand if she was having a bad day, but that's not a reason to be frowning or giving your customer attitude. She does work at a retail after all. So she needs some attitude change. Other than that a guy named Daniel (wears glasses) was very helpful and pleasing to talk to. He was very friendly and had a good attitude towards the customers heading to the fitting rooms. That's what I look for as a customer at a retail store. So keep up the good work Daniel! read more

Good place to shop. Be careful, that $30 pan may actually be $25 at target, but if you shop carefully you can still find some really good deals here, especially in the clearance section. The security guard at the front is a little...unsettling. It seems almost silly they are worried about losing such cheap stuff, but, whatever, they are never mean to me, and I have no intention of stealing, so I can ignore it, it's just weird the first time you go in. This store sells garbage clothes, charges a lot for it, and doesn't stand by their products when they fail. I figured since Ross is a huge chain, they would at least stand by their cheap shoddy products with a store credit if something went wrong, so I purchased a belt for 17.99. A day after I got it, a plastic part of the buckle that made the belt useable broke off. I needed to be at work so I took a bic pen and cut it to the size of the plastic piece that came off. The bic plastic was stronger and with my replacement piece, the belt lasted 6 months, although now and then the piece would fly off and I'd have to bend the cheap metal of the rest of the buckle to hold the piece in. Yesterday at work the piece came out. I bent the metal put the piece back in and as I put the belt on, the seeming pot metal of the belt failed. I spent an hour at work with pants nearly coming down before I went to DDs discounts and bought two belts for the price of one 8.99, half the price of the one Ross belt with seeming better quality buckle. Went back to Ross with the broken Ecko belt, told them some of the story, cashier interrupted me asking if I had a receipt. I said no, but you charge too much for shoddy products. No recourse. I will not shop at Ross again. And yeah, I only had one belt. My other less breakable belt of the hot topic adjustable seatbelt style doesn't meet dress code. read more

i don't like going to ross. i am a strategic shopper. i know where to go, what time to go, and god-damn it, i better be out within a half an hour! @ ross it's damn near impossible to do. out of desperation i head out to ross to try & find a snowboarding bag...for less. i practically run to the bag/luggage area and start rummaging. but a few seconds before i reach my intended location, a really cute shirt catches my attention...and at $6.50...i HAVE to buy it. now, i have a few thoughts running through my head as i'm throwing bag after bag aside: "bag, bag, bag, too small, hey...that's cute." i kept telling my self to focus...focus! 45 minutes later i'm walking through the shoe aisle with 2 ben sherman bags, a nike purse, and a shirt that looks like 3 other shirts i already have. damn you ross! you consistently throw temptation in the face of this ninja shopper! but you do it with such grace... read more

You can find good deals on mens clothing. You can get skate shoes on average for $32 which is great. DC etc brands. Customers mess the store up bad. I'll be shopping and customers throw stuff on the floor just for the hell of it and people teach their kids to do this also. What is the shopping world coming to. Small, dirty and a very small selection of women's pants. It feels and looks like a ghetto. Largest selection was the home decorating section. I was afraid to try anything one and got out as fast as I could. Headed to Thousand Oaks, not as much selection, but at least you feel like you'll pick up lice or a fungal infection. read more

Ross is the place to find things worth a lot for a cheap price. I bought a jacket here for $30 and it was worth around $100 so it was a crazy steal lol. Just have to search for the good things sometimes. read more
