When I needed a nice dress for my HS reunion, I returned to The Boutique, remembering the attention another customer received when I came here the first time to purchase a gift certificate. The Boutique was PERFECT! Colleen was working that day and, again, helping ladies who came in looking for "just that little something". She greeted me and asked if I was looking for anything in particular and I told her a pretty dress for a reunion. They had SO MANY beautiful, bright colors and fabrics hitting my eyes from every corner of the store. Not that the racks were crammed, but the store is laid out beautifully, with displays and sections of different styles and curated pieces, making everything SOOO tempting. BUT, I needed JUST ONE DRESS. Colleen acknowledged she was working with a couple of ladies and invited me to look around and feel free to ask any questions. Quickly, my arms were filling with selections. I was so happy to see they still had a large selection of Summer items at the end of July, when other stores were already displaying Fall fashions. Colleen got me set up in a booth and the try outs began. This became such a FUN day of dress up! Normally, I find clothes shopping a drag, but this boutique has acquired a following of loyal shoppers and each lady in there was supportive and encouraging as we tried on and received/gave opinions about each other's selections. About an hour and 8 outfits later, Lisa arrived and joined in the "find this lady a dress" collaboration that was afoot. Both Colleen and Lisa were talking inventory and any other pieces they wanted to see me in. Each item was pretty special, but I kept coming back to one dress in particular that just made me feel happy and confident. EXACTLY what I needed! Ok, so yeah, that ONE DRESS turned into 4 items, much to Colleen's surprise. She never pressured me, or gushed praise, she gave her honest opinion, but thought I just wanted ONE dress. Well, what can I say? The prices are fair and I believe these to be well made items that will last for years with my care. My total came to ~$225 for the 4 beauties I brought home. In my nicely wrapped, reusable shopping bag was a cute little note, thanking me for my purchase and stating their return policy. I believe it was w/in 2 weeks with tags on or store credit if not. I have shopped here a number of times over the years and have loved the store, and recommended it to several friends. Unfortunately, the last couple of times I have been ignored while the customers that came in after me were greeted and offered help. The older sales lady walked past me without acknowledging me. I could tolerate unfriendly staff if they interacted this was with all customers. There have been other times I have been helped by kind and attentive staff as well but my hope is that the owner sees this and knows that on the afternoon of February 9, the two women working were dismissive and completely ignored select customers. As I look through other reviews I see that there is a trend and others shared my experience. I am not one to look for racial disparity, but that's exactly what I felt today based on my experience. But it was enough to write a review to share my experience. I like supporting small business but feel I need to look elsewhere and other should be aware. read more

I recently gave The Boutique another try and am glad that I did. After visiting a handful of times, I can confidently say that the service has been consistently better than my experience a few years ago. Always nice to give a place another try and be pleasantly surprised. :) As far as clothing goes, most of the prices are reasonable and I can usually find something cute and casual or something special for a day or night out. read more

Horrible experience today. Went in to try on a dress that was displayed in front. Salesperson was talking to another lady and ignored me completely. I waited and smiled politely and stood staring at her until she said hello. Was told that they didn't have my size but she might be able to ask about ordering another size. Tried it on and realized it wouldn't work out because of the length. I was explaining this as the salesperson rudely grabbed it out of my hands. Do they treat ALL their customers like that? Or just the brown ones? So rude! Wish I could give zero stars. Go somewhere else where you're greeted and treated right. read more

Love this store! The staff is super friendly. I'm not sure what store the other customers walked in to, but I have always been greeted and helped as soon as I walk in. They always check in the back if they dont have something in my size. A word to the wise though- they dont buy many of each size so you need to go in when they get a shipment. They will hold items for you and even do lay-away. The only downside to this place is the dressing rooms. The curtains dont close well and the lights in there get so hot! :( I always try things on quickly so I can get out. lol. Other than that, this place is a one stop shop for a girl like me on a budget who wants a quick outfit for a night out or weekend. read more

It has been along time that I have seen my moms aged women, my age and my teenaged daughter all able to shop in one place. The prices are amazing and the newest style in all the magazines. I'm shocked to see some of these reviews! I'm not a regular since I don't live in Simi anymore, but I try to stop by here whenever I get the chance. The ladies are always nice and try to help me create a cute outfit when I find a top I like. The selection varies a lot - sometimes their clothes can seem to be for an older crowd, but most of it is super cute and trendy without looking cheap. Their prices are amazing - I've bought several tops for under $30 and they've lasted well over 2 years. The jewelry is cute, too. Happy customer! read more

This place is an absolute adorable little boutique found in the small but growing town of Simi Valley. For the longest time, I would go shop at the mall until I came upon this place after seeing a movie one night and needed an outfit for a bday party. The staff is truly passionate about their customers and the owner really goes out of her way to find you exactly what your looking for. Tonight I convinced my husband to accompany me to the open house event, as I was in search of a dress for New Years. I had been there the weekend prior and found out about the event. Now here's why I gave them one star. We came in and I went straight to the cocktail dress area. Not one person acknowledged me throughout my dress picking process or even offered to help me with anything, but as I went to try on the dress I found, I hear the gals there pay lots of attention to my husband and offer him champagne and cookies. So I'm like ok the event has started so when I exited the dressing room to show hubby the dress. Do you think anyone acknowledged me? Offered me anything? No! I told my husband what was happening and at first he was no way, you must be imagining it. So I told him watch. I walked all over the store a good 10 minutes looking at everything, not even one person made eye contact with me, but in the background they were offering my husband seconds on the champagne. Last weekend I was all made up hair done makeup fresh nice outfit. Today I had no makeup on and hair was up, amazing how different I was treated the second time. If I would have been treated this way this past weekend, I would have never of come back! I will never ever go there again. Oh and by the way I was the one that was going to spend the money not my husband! Big mistake, as I have lots of buying power and could have made them money. read more

This place is a joke, let me just say I shop around a lot. I used to shop in the garment district a lot and I work in retail so I know how much thingsshould cost and what the stores pay for them. I went in thinking I would find a one of a kind item, I was way wrong! They are so RIDICULOUSLY over priced too!
