This is a Beautiful Location that should be be Pride of Simi Valley. It's Poorly managed. On two days before Christmas, half the mall was closed. Their were no crowds because the Mall doesn't have an Anchor Store. The mall during the year plays music from the 1950's! Who are they trying to attract, 80 year olds? I was hopeful the New Management that took over this year would make a difference. They have not. I hope these reviews inspired the City to take action to better revitalize this wonderful space. Some positive things are the Wonderful SIMI VALLEY FILM FESTIVAL that was held here! I Highly recommend it!! I also admire and appreciate The Veterans Museum here that is Fantastic! After shopping at Macys for more than 35 years we're done with this once very good department store. It's understandable to me now why so many Macys are closing stores, and get so many poor reviews on YELP. I had a simple case of a gift card purchase at a Vons in Simi Valley for $200. It turned out that the card was tampered with and the money stolen shortly after purchase. With the assistance of Vons management (also very poor service) they got me in touch with Macys GC (gift card dept) to file a claim. After six pathetic weeks of incompetent emails back and forth regarding my case, the Macys GC dept alleged that the receipt that I provided along with pictures of the tampered with card were not a match. I advised them that one simple call to the Vons store management would have confirmed that it was. Apparently no such call was made as they stuck to their original incorrect conclusion that the receipt didn't match the gift card in question. So we are moving on from Macys and will be doing are shopping at Kohl's and other department stores in our area. read more

Some new changes may be on the way for the Town Center. The news is reporting that the entire mall has recently been sold. It's said that the new owners have a lot of ideas for boosting the profile of the center. Dear Hubby and I have enjoyed attending various events like live music performances and Friday Night Farmers Market in years past. We didn't try to go to anything in particular this past summer as it was often so hot that staying home seemed like a good idea. Boring, but, we just didn't go out much. Am not sure if they scaled back their offerings for Summer 2024? I will say that finding info about what's going on at SVTC can take some doing. They might need to up their social media promotions. Still, I like going to this mall because parking is usually easy to find. The restaurants on the perimeter seem to keep the whole place going. We recently went to Corner Bakery Cafe with our young granddaughter and they were doing decent business. The overall space is nicely landscaped and the grounds are kept clean. Last Saturday evening we went over as I had some errands to run. We had been busy during the day and unfortunately missed the very large Simi Valley Street Fair event that had been going on for a good part of the day. They'd closed off Town Center Way completely, so anyone in the area either had to drive around on Jefferson, or go through the mall parking lot. We could see from going by on the freeway that this was a big event. Will try to make it next year. Likewise, the Center's ownership often attracts other events like the circus to share their property and bring people to the area. I was able to visit Bath & Body Works and Brighton in the early evening on Saturday and get the shopping done at each that I'd had planned. Courteous staff members were welcoming and happy for my business. Locals have said that the unpredictable weather there - cold and windy, or hot and windy, makes it less than enjoyable to be there for a lengthy period of time. That might have something to do with the struggles to keep tenants. The new owners might have to consider a solution like what was done in Ventura, where the bulk of their mall was put under a roof to make it more comfortable. It would be an expensive undertaking, but could make a difference. On our last visit they have spruced up the outdoor spaces with a series of Halloween-themed inflatables throughout. That added a touch of holiday cheer, which was nice to see. Wishing the new owners well as they work to figure out how to keep this local resource going! read more

This place is dead! What is happening with the chamber of commerce in this city? Once a "bustling" shopping center with many options, now a relic with shuttered retail stores. What a shame. Especially when Moorpark, Thousand Oaks, and Porter Ranch continue to add better eateries and shopping choices. read more

I'm giving this one star hoping to get the attention of the center management . I ran into one of Simi finest at Firehouse Subs. Showed him the photo and told him what my concerns were. he said responsibility was of the SVTown Center . He asked the manager in charge if he could have the phone number , then the manager & a few employees saw my photo and agreed that this was a hazard and they said they would contact Management too. This is a decent Town Center with different restrauants, retail shop, big warehouse shops and food places too. I took my wife here today on July 4th so she could go to the Brighton store which is one of her favorite store. We also stopped by Ulta and Marshall as well since it was on the way when walking around. We pass by California Pizza Kitchen, Red Robin and Larsen. I also been to the Macy here before they closed down the store. This is also an outdoor Town Center so be aware of this. There ton of parking here and they even have a Starbucks. read more

I come here a lot but now I think I'm better off staying at home. I am a parent with kids and I have never seen such harsh harassment towards some kids trying to go skate at the skate shop here at the town center. The MALL MANAGER keep in mind, got up into 3 kids faces and started YELLING at them to get off their boards and to leave the town center and he got into their personal space instead of approaching in a calmer way and actually explaining. This as a parent hurt to see since I would never treat KIDS that way. I get that you can't skate through the mall but maybe put some signs up or maybe just calmly explaining to them and maybe a warning would be nice. I am extremely disappointed especially since this is the MALL MANAGER. I would not let this guy be a manager of anything. I feel bad for his family. CPK was the choice after visiting the Center. Not too many restaurants to choose from. Red Robin or CPK seem to get most of the dinner crowd as they have the best parking. Both of these restaurants I recommend. read more

Wow what happened to this place? It's been years since I've been but I remember it was a lot better in the mid 2000s. Like I distinctly remember they had a Macys, Abercrombie & Fitch, Urban Outfitters, Forever 21 etc. just like a regular mall except outdoors. Now it seems dead. Simi Valley Town Center is one of my favorite places to visit while in Simi Vallley. It's always clean and has several shops to go to. My favorite part about this mall is the wide selection of dining options to choose from. This mall is also a lovely place to come to and just walk around, since it's outdoor you can stroll around and just enjoy the Southern California weather. The only thing that's somewhat sad about this mall is every year I visit, more and more shops close down. read more

Not a big fan of outdoor malls but I remember when this place was new and people were so excited that Simi finally had a "mall". Unfortunately the mall was full of pricey retail shops that are now mostly gone. Who did the market research on Simi Valley shoppers??? Simi peeps want retail/discount shops that give them value for their dollar, entertainment, and dining options. If the town center had a Dave and Busters and retail establishments that cater to youth and were family oriented maybe it would make a come back. Whatever the reason for it's demise (beyond internet shopping), I hope that they figure it out and make the town center better. #1 on the list to make the town center better: remove the lousy train that runs through the narrow walkways almost running over pedestrians. I recall many times wrangling a stroller and two children walking when that stupid train came beeping directly towards us. Dumbest business model ever! This place is a Ghost Town.There are a few stores that seem to be doing well.There's also a few good eateries here. They put the new movies theater,hopping it would bring in more people and it seems to be working right now. Bringing the right stores in here will help bring in more traffic flow and even maybe a farmers market with some type of entertainment and also a petting zoo. I'm not sure the creative team behind the Simi Valley Town Center had this in mind when they built the sprawling outside mall, but this really is the perfect destination for crowd-fearing agoraphobics, haunted house enthusiasts and fans of dystopian / post apocalyptic architecture. Things you won't find at this mall: - High end retail stores - Any retail stores - People Things you will find at this mall: - Tumbleweeds - Open space - Zombies The issue seems to be that nobody in Simi wants to buy anything that costs more than one solid dollar or isn't a chicken wing or a tattoo or a bag of heroin. (I think you buy bags of heroin, but maybe it's something else. I'm no longer a local so I guess I wouldn't know.) Therefore, stores that typically do well in other cities--like, say, the Apple Store--go out of business and become sad husks of forgotten dreams at the Town Center. The freakin' Apple Store went out of business in this mall. Like, that breaks my brain. How is that even possible? Seriously! The crowds at every other Apple Store are so big that they spread into the next Apple Store in the adjacent city and link across America in one big mass of people waiting to buy Apple products. But not in Simi Valley. Whatever you do, do not make the mistake of wandering the sad, desolate walkways of this barren mall after sunset. This is when the cannibals come out. If you do find yourself stuck here under the dim light of the moon, light a bonfire, curl up tight, and pray to all the gods for salvation. They aren't likely to hear you, just as they couldn't hear the former shop owners who dropped to their knees, wept, and begged for customers, but it's worth a shot. Still, I give this mall 5 out of 5 stars due to its overall proximity to Chick-Fil-A, which is only a short 1.7-mile drive away. read more

They need to hire better security guards. My 16 year old kid wore a dress and this guy was walking behind us and kept checking her out. He would pretend to be walking in a different direction, when I'd glance at him, but they kept following us, and it made me uncomfortable. I don't know what kind of unprofessional security company they hired but they need to check up on their guards behavior. read more

I used to enjoy shopping at the Simi Valley town center. There used to be many places to shop. The place used to be so lively. When the place opened decades ago, the town center was packed. Local news agencies used to take pictures and speak to guests shopping at the mall. There used to be two Macy's. One for Women that is still open and the other is the Men store which is permanently closed. There used to be a Gamestop which is permanently closed. There used to be many restaurants around there and the majority of them are closed. In fact one end of the mall is almost a ghost town. The middle section is almost gone. Recently the Dreamworld Comics closed. Why?! Because every business owner who's owned the Simi Valley Town Center decided to raise the rent rates. The rent rates is what is killing businesses and hurting people like me to visit the town center. Last year in the local news sites, the new owners said they would bring back business and revenue to the place. Instead, the opposite has happened. Businesses are closing as a result of raising rent rates. If the town center has had many owners, isn't there just one owner who would notice that raising rates chases away businesses and guests?! So far, Zero. I'm very upset and angry with how management managed to chase away businesses and people like me. We want to shop and visit the malls. Malls is an American tradition. Hanging out, meeting new people, shopping and seeing live attractions like car shows, Halloween themes, singing, rides, etc. Instead, it feels very anti-American. Did you know that people are leaving California by the Thousands?! Yes its true. It's all true. All because the politicians keep on raising taxes in the middle and poor class. They keep on raising rent rates on businesses. Then they look around and when people criticize them, they give the answer, "We don't know why people would leave our great state of California? But it can't be because of the taxes we impose. The tax money is going to useful projects." Taxes is driving up homelessness in multiple cities throughout California. The poor is becoming the homeless. The middle is becoming the poor. And the upper class is still the upper class. Why do people continue to vote for the same party and the same people who still impose raising taxes?! It's beyond me. I hope someday a business owner will turn this place from an almost ghost town to what it was before. A thriving mall with businesses and people. Please lower your rates all the way down. Down to what it was at least twenty years ago. Then people would visit and shop at the Town Center. read more

This place had a lot of potential but is seriously lacking these days. With the addition of Ulta and Marshalls, and the Studio Movie Grill, I am hoping that it will start to improve again, but since we just lost the Apple store here, I am not so sure. There are plenty of restaurants to check out including Buffalo Wild Wings, Larsen's Grill (which is amazing but expensive), Red Robin, and California Pizza Kitchen, and a nice little food court that is adding more places. Parking is plentiful. There are still a few shops here and there, but most have moved out. They do have a nice drive-thru Starbucks that does not get too busy. It is completely outdoors, so when the weather is bad, it is not a good place to visit. I usually stop by here to go to the movies or out to eat. I don't walk around the mall anymore. I am hoping that it will start to improve soon. Simi Valley could really use a nice mall. read more

Important factors that I look for: parking, cleanliness, service efficiency, and atmosphere. Parking: plenty of parking through out the shopping area, I have been here a few times now with my family. To this date I have not had any issues. So feel free to come by and enjoy not having to park to far from where you plan to shop. Cleanliness: I enjoy this plaza for the most part because of how clean they keep their shopping area. My family and I enjoy walking around and strolling through without having an experience with any occurrences of trash laying around. Service Efficiency: we have been to a few shops throughout the shopping center and each store we have not experience any terrible service, especially at the Movie Theater and Comic Store. Atmosphere: awesome, especially during Christmas. read more

It's discouraging that so many stores have disappeared but I like that they are now home to dance, martial arts, acting studios. It gives residents an opportunity to drop kids off at lessons and get some shopping in. It's a beautiful outside mall and they appear to be working on new ideas. Is there a Farmer's Market there? Not overcrowded at all. Lots of nice stores, new and some familiar to me. Lots of little people hang out here to skateboard... there's a skateboard shop combined with an indoor skate gym. I've seen dance studios here, baseball training center and a boxing champ shop. read more

I visited this so called mall today with the family. It's sad to see all the stores gone. But hey, that's what happens when you build a outdoor mall located someplace that gets very hot and very cold. The worst part is we used the family restroom and when we left, I forgot an item that was pretty valuable to me. One of three janitors came in right behind us to clean the facilities. I noticed when we got to our vehicle that I had forgotten the item and returned to the family restroom. There was no janitor and the item I forgot was now gone. I called the security office, I said we had left an item in the bathroom. They followed my statement stating the exact locarion of the bathroom that we had just been in. So security was watching my family for a unknown reason, which I find very creepy. I asked if the janitor had turned my property in. They said that the janitor finished quickly after we left... The security office said the item would be turned into the management office and I should call that office. So instead of calling I went to the office and spoke to a manager. He wasn't happy I checked in and appeared as if my presence was bothering him. He said he would check with the janitors and comes back to say he couldn't reach them. He took my name and my number and said someone will call if the item gets turned in. 2hrs later still no call. If the management reads this: I hope you are proud of your company. It needs ethics training and a better policy. Also more honest and responsible staff members that will not steal from tens of people that still visit here. read more

I went with a friend to this Shopping Center and it's very disappointing to see that more than half of the stores were empty, with no promise of being filled anytime soon. There are some basic chain restaurants, your average everyday Mall skateboarding type stores, a Macy's that's half the size it used to be. A lot of empty stores. Replaced with assorted martial arts and dance classes, sad. I can imagine that this location was such a variable environment and whether this must be a challenging place to keep filled and this cold winter days and Summer Nights. But because of this there is plenty of free parking. Now unto the personal experience with this Center that really ruined it for me. Utilizing the restrooms before leaving my friend left a personal item that meant a lot to him behind. He quickly returned to the bathroom to find this item was missing. Had a cold that we had left the area and a janitor had recently started working on that area. Hoping that the janitor had picked up this item and returned it, we called the security office before leaving the property. I stated that we had left an item behind in one of the bathrooms. The security guard followed my statement with naming exact location of bathroom that we had just left from. It was really stalker creepy crazy and I did not like that. There are multiple bathrooms in the mall, there were plenty of people around. That just feels weird we got singled out and remembered. We were told that there was nothing turned in yet and when I queried about contacting the janitor, they stated they had no way to contact him. We were told to call the main office as that's where a janitor is supposed to return lost and found items. Since you were still there we actually went to the main office. Again they said they had no way of contacting the janitor on the property. (Odd that walkie-talkie type device hanging from his pants was just for adornment.) We left our contact info and anticipate nothing in return. And they shouldn't be expecting our return to that location. Overall review for this place: Meh. read more

I remember when the Town Center first opened. This place was hopping! It had great stores with a pretty cool food court. On nice days the open air concept made for a great day at the mall. Unfortunately the mall has slowly deteriorated into a meager shell of what it once was. Here is just some of stores and eateries that have closed since the opening of the Simi Town Center (at least the ones I can remember): ~American Eagle, Beach Bums, Coach, Lucky Brand, Brookstone, Pac Sun, Panda Express, Dakota's Steakhouse, HaagenDaz, Red Fish, etc The Hollister and A & F have turned into outlets and even those are suppose to close within a few months. Having 2 separate Macy's at either ends of the mall is also inconvenient because this isn't a short mall to walk. This mall is on it's last legs and it could really use a savior of some sort. I'm not sure if it's the open-air concept in the sweltering heat of summer or the recession that is causing the demise of the Town Center but I foresee the end of days approaching soon. Really sad and disappointing is how I describe my most recent experience at the Simi Valley Town Center. read more

This a great mall for dog-walking. Several dog-friendly restaurants are here and although it looks to be on the decline a bit, it's clean and well looked-after. Plenty of spots for resting in the shade and a few interesting sights, like the VFW museum and even a skateboard museum! We enjoyed our stay and will do our best to patronize this local enterprise. read more

My sister was in town so we wandered on down to the Simi Valley Town Center Snow Show on Friday night. We opted for the 8:00 p.m. show instead of the 7:00 p.m. show because the earlier show interfered with our happy hour. ;) The snow was realistic! But it was actually soap. You know how you blow the bubbles in the tub and they float through the air? It's like that but on a much bigger scale. All of us had taken showers or being covered in soap bubbles may have come in handy. They played Dreaming of a White Christmas and another holiday song while the sky around the 40 foot Christmas tree filled with white flurries. Even if it wasn't the real thing, it sure put everyone in the Christmas spirit. There wasn't an unhappy face in the entire crowd. read more

For the longest time I never realized that Simi's Town Center was an outdoor mall. Yes you can see some of Macy's from a distance, but I thought it was just a few shops along a one sided singular strip. Simi Town Center is actually set up more like a promenade. There is absolutely no authenticity or uniqueness, as this small mall boasts all the same corporate chain shops you may find at any American Mall. Hot Topic, Victoria Secret, Express, etc. with Macy's the major department store. Although I was surprised to find Antrhopologie here, one of my favorites, but clearly becoming more main stream. They also have an Abercrombie and Fitch outlet which I've never seen before. There are plenty of restaurants, and cafes, all of which aren't unique either like Red Robin, and Soup Plantation. On the parking lot side there are businesses, such as Verizon Wireless, Len's Crafters and a few Salons. The mall itself is modern, and supposed to look like some kind of European hillside village, but it just looks like Las Vegas. There's a fancy Koi pond which is kinda pretty I suppose. On another note, this is one of those places that plays music. My mom thinks it's some kind of ploy to placate the population and insert subliminal messages telling us to spend money. I think places like this are the most likely spot for ground zero of the zombie apocalypse. I swear that music makes me want to kill children and eat brains. During this time of year it's holiday music, the worst kind. They also have Farmers Market here, and music some nights. read more

This place has gone downhilllllll..there is nothing left to this place. The only good thing about this town center is that it's outdoors and it has a beautiful koi pond and the community center/train. We came here recently for a Birthday party that was held in the community center..the room was nice and spacious big enough to fit a bouncer and they also had train rides for the kids which was really nice. I would have never known about the community center till the bday party..glad we attended and the train was a really nice touch. Other than that there is not much of a variety of store selection, the Macys Mens has limited brands/clothing. I didnt find much at the Macy's womens/childrens department they don't carry Guess brand which I came specifically looking for. The stores here suck, especially this one shoe shop that still in business Fashion something, I liked 5 pairs of shoes and they did not have one size..I have big feet..size 9..carry my size damnit. :) I would definitely not come back unless there was another Birthday party held here. read more

This place was great during the Countrywide days. People would actually drive from far away towns just to see the awesomeness of this place. I think it was around the time Countrywide was bought out by Bank of America which was when it started to go downhill. My favorite stores like Forever 21 and others left. I am not sure why, but maybe the rent just got too high? You know it's bad when even APPLE leaves. Now, it's mostly these stores that no one has ever heard of- like a random old timey hat shop. It reminds me of those pictures of abandoned malls that highlight the post-recession era. read more

Sadly, there's no reason for anyone not living in Simi Valley to visit this mall, especially when you have the Northridge Fashion Center and Thousand Oaks Mall nearby with far more shopping and culinary choices. A few years ago, they invested alot money to redo part of the mall and at a movie theater. However, the excitement of the Studio Movie Grill and Buffalo Wild Wings was quickly undone when the Apple store and Men's Macy's shuttered. It's sad walking through this mall.
