Overall just an awful experience. Poor selection for clothes. They must treat their people poorly or make poor hiring decisions. Flustered associate at Christmas forgot to remove a securiry tag from a skirt my wife bought. Just dealt with a rude chickwhp did the "worthless trash you must be a thief" look down her nose. Anyone over 30 us definitely unwelcome here..neither is anyone from the LGBT cmunity. Anthropologie is usually great, this one isnt. read more

Great store and now my go to for gift giving . They have so much to look at you can literally spend hours in the store . I've been buying their home /kitchen items for years , it was kind of like a mini restoration hardware as they used to have a bunch of hardware for cupboards but i didn't find them this time. I did find a great spring top & some nice hair accessories this time . They have a lot of name brand apparel which is on par for the price with the individual store like We The Ppl & they had some paige denim which was also on par and wasn't overpriced in a boutique. Some of the clothing is for the younger crowd but there's always something you can find here. The staff is present at the fitting room and at the registers , there is rarely a line so check out is fast & friendly. Love this staff and this store! Super cool service and great selections! I have nothing but respect for the store manager Kristin ( I hope I am spelling this right, pic attached!) - she has found me hard to find options and just has a wonderful, soft spoken and professional way about her. All of the staff here are terrific and the clothes- CUTE! Oh and for those deterred by the price tags- i make a beeline for the sale section in the back - just keep your eyes closed till you get there! Accompanied wifey to buy a "boho dress" (learned this is a fashion term for "Bohemian") for an upcoming pool party. The store is very well organized and not cluttered, which I appreciated - they even had a nice seating area where I could sit and wait while wifey went through a few dresses. Luckily she found one. Sales ladies were mature and professional - no college kids - and we got out of there pretty quickly. They also had home goods and in general, decent quality and attractive merchandise. Wifey's dress turned out to be Indian, which delighted her to no end, since she's going in that direction ever since our India trip. Recommended! read more

Anthropology has to be the CUTEST, classiest store to find kitchenware, candles, jewelry and office decor. I think I shop here only twice a year. However, I always leave with something. It's impossible not to. It is also impossible not to like what they carry. They have a vast selection of unique mugs and plates. Their kitchen selection also includes bakeware, utensils, pot holders, drying towels with cute designs. I absolutely fell in love with their candles and their different scents. Today was the first time I have actually bought one of their candles and the prices are pretty comparable to other candles, but their designs and jars are way cuter. They also carry funky, unique and cute clothing apparel but it's way too pricey. Their office stuff in also pretty neat. Awesome for stocking stuffers. I got myself an envelope opener. Today I had the WORST experience and felt Discriminated. First off no one acknowledged myself, mom and sister. No one said hello. I had never made a purchase here, but found some beautiful knobs for my drawers in the sale area. We went to the register but was cut in line by this lady who I guess thought she was more privileged than us who needed to make a return. So we waited...i went up to pay and noticed the lady before us left her Drivers License & Cell phone. I handed it to my sister to run after her but the Register Clerk said "no you better let me hold on to it" my sister got to the lady and she was returned her items. Anyways... The gal at the register was pleasant but when she packaged my 6 knobs, she gave me the DINGY, DIRTY, CRINKLED bag that the rude lady before us returned her crap in! It might be menial to you but this store has always been so magical and inspiring to me and to FINALLY be able to make my first purchase felt so good. It does MATTER that I felt Respected and Worth a New Shopping bag. Just because we are not Shiny looking people and our nationality is different or our skin is darker doesn't mean we Should get People's Leftovers. Nothing like being offended at an overpriced store. The salespeople must be miserable, under paid, or maybe they're just trained to only help those that look like they have "money". Pretty judgmental for me to say, but hey- I worked in retail for 3 years- even at the Oaks mall, and I would always be kind even if I had a rough day- so I know what it's like. Just because I'm browsing and I'm looking like I'm lost (I was shopping for a birthday present for my sister) you probably shouldn't come up to me and say "the sales area is over there" and just walk away. I thought she was joking... But nothing was said after that and she just walked away... I almost bought a $120 dress for my sister. But I guess my money or presence wasn't good enough. Ok let me start by saying If I wouldn't end up broke and homeless I would spend every penny I have in this store! I'm obsessed with everything Anthro! The clothes are amazing and the home goods and accessories are as well! Yes, this store is pricey for clothes and some other items but if you're like me you shop the sale section (especially when it's an extra 20 or 50 % off!) I have gotten some of the most amazing deals there you wouldn't even believe! Blouses originally $150 for $20, a new duvet cover originally $200 for $40 and recently a dress originally $130 for $10!!! The staff at the Thousand Oaks location is always super friendly and knowledgable and I usually always end up leaving with something! Highly recommend ladies!! read more

One of my favorite stores! This store doesnt disappoint, either, although with the sale stuff, you have to have been born in the store on some things, if you want to get your size. They have so much lovely clothing/accessories/home goods that makes me feel purdy and happy and girly, so Im just gonna keep buying it until someone tells me not to. That person could be my husband, but I hope that never happens. I love pretty much everything in this store. People love this store. They have some cool stuff, lots of fun and interesting items to look at, but........ it's so overpriced, and I can't bring myself to spend that kind of money there when I know I can get these things for much cheaper at other places. Other Yelpers say the same thing but still give in to Anthropologie's lure. For me, I just don't think their stuff is all that unique or that I "must" have something of theirs to spend that kind of money. I once found some cabinet knobs, which I always LOVE picking through to see what they have, but when I saw their ridiculous prices, I went online, searched until I found the SAME thing, and spent far less even with shipping to get them that way. My point is, I can find just as beautiful, fun, funky, trendy, hip, cool or otherwise at many other places. I guess I just don't get what all the fuss is to spend more than I need to. This is not to say I never spend more than I should......but this is not such an amazing place that it warrants doing so. read more

I'm an Anthro girl from way back .... I use to live in Santa Monica and this was always my favorite store. Now I go to the Thousand Oaks store and I still love everything about it. Holli McClellond is great!! She has great style and she always greats me with a big hello!! She shows me all the new stuff that has just come in, and it's really nice to feel so welcome in one of my favorite places. The girls are ALL so sweet and I love to see all the creativity with the merchandising, so many great installations always, and if you really look at the details some you can even make at home ( painted leaves, strips of ribbon, the ideas are so cool. Not nearly as large a selection as santa monica or santa barbara. Also, the last time I was in here I had trouble with an impatient and rude employee who ended up ordering me the wrong size skirt by the end of it. I called the store the next day to get a different size and luckily the girl who answered the phone was helpful and polite although I still had to return the wrong sized skirt at a later date. read more

I have been an Anthropologie shopper ever since they began. In the beginning there were only catalogs. When they began their establishments it was amazing because all those pages in the catalog were finally in one room. My wardrobe consists of many Anthropologie clothing items. Some I have had for over thirty years because they have classic looks that never go out of style. This store has the prettiest and sweetest girls to help assist you. The managers are ready to go out of their way to help you. Recently I left a couple pairs of socks in the store and the manager found them and sent them to me. They are so cute and will keep my feet warm when I have my hospital stay soon. Also, this store is special because It's roomy and their displays are so artistic and fun. I am in love and want to buy their big green couch they have right now, I just know my dogs would love it, too! Thank you to all of you at our local Anthropologie store. Every time I come into Thousand Oaks I visit Anthropologie and usually I don't leave without finding something for me or my home.
